We were in the restaurant today with two dogs, everything was ok, except: our dogs didn't get any water but a familiar dog next to us did, I don't like it at all!

Excellent restaurant, from the atmosphere to the food. We'll come back to that.

Went for Fondue Chinoise with the team from the shop. Friendly service, food very nicely prepared. Price performance top.

Very good, freshly cooked food. Beetroot soup was great and the salad, roast and dessert were also very tasty. The post bus stop is just a few meters away.

Home-style dining restaurant that's worth stopping at. There are lots of local dishes on the menu that are really delicious. The dishes are beautifully prepared and the eye is definitely eating here.

I was able to experience a pleasant surprise again today. Looked after by very attentive, professional staff, I was served delicious, creative and original food, which also incorporated regional, i.e. Appenzell specialties, and which presented itself as simply uniquely authentic. Very tasty prepared and also a feast for the eyes. A big compliment to the inspired young chef and the whole crew!

I ate venison peppers this Sunday. Was served nicely with good pepper sauce. Meat was dry and anything but tender. Service person said she would report it to the kitchen; no reaction!

This was our third time eating fondue chinoise there with the shop. The restaurant has a lot of space, which can be used optimally for larger groups. The service is always attentive and friendly, the vegetables and meat selection are really very good and the other side dishes are also delicious. I can highly recommend this restaurant, even if the prices have risen slightly for the Fondue Chinoise, but if you are looking for a homely restaurant with families, business, friends and/or a partner, you are in good hands there. Recommendation from me.

I am very happy with the good cooking you do. For many years I have been coming to eat game with my family. Now I have returned to Italy forever and whenever I pass through these periods I never miss your good cooking and above all that delicious dish of game with some vegetables thank you thank you I am proud of the delicious cuisine and thanks to the chef on our behalf thank you again 👍👍👍🇨🇭🇨🇭🇨🇭

Old restaurant, clean and good decorative facilities. Nice and well prepared meals. Something is bothering you a little! The urinals don't flush, so the men's toilet is a bit strict, perhaps the structure could be improved.

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food didn't take long to arrive, it was plentiful and very tasty. A big compliment to the kitchen.

Very good restaurant. The Appenzeller Cordon Bleu is probably the best Cordon Blue I have ever enjoyed. A really successful combination of the classic with local Appenzell delicacies. Definitely worth a recommendation!

We ate the Chinoise. Super tasty, endless meat and side dishes. The service was very friendly. Unfortunately we had to wait a long time for repeat orders. Understandable due to the high number of visitors, but still tedious.

Food was really tasty. We had Fondue Chinoise, unfortunately the replenishment of fries and meat always took a long time. But we didn't have any stress so it was ok. Service was friendly. I find the atmosphere very inviting. Come again.

I ate Fondue Chinoise here and it was so delicious that I literally overeaten it. 🤣 It's definitely worth eating here and you have to do it at least once in your life. The service is first class and they always try to provide the guest with everything they need for a good meal. The ambience is traditional in the Appenzell style and yet modern.

I was allowed to be their guest on January 9, 2023. When I entered the restaurant it wasn't fully occupied, 2 guests were sitting right near the stairs and all the guests had to go through the 2 guests. I thought it was a bit special. The food was very good, everything was very fresh, including a vegetable platter, but I missed the contact with the guests a bit in the service, the attention went a bit short of refills etc... it was a very cozy evening, I'll definitely be happy to come back

Ruedi and Elsbeth Schmid The four of us from Zurich were at the Rössli on New Year's Eve 2022 to toast the New Year. Because of the distance to Zurich, we also reserved two rooms. Everything worked out great. The staff, the boss, the food and even the house wine Bädli-Quellwy were excellent and, together with the New Year's Eve celebrations, will remain in our memories forever. The Rössli is a safe stopover on your next trip to Appenzellerland.

Food great. fondue. I give service full stars because there's probably a lack of staff there too. It took a while, but we're not on the run. We ate in a new part of the restaurant, but unfortunately it's too noisy when it's full.

Had fondue chinoise. The welcome was very friendly and personable. Orders were taken and the food came quickly. Unfortunately, it became very crowded after that. The noise level increased. The waitress then had their hands full. As a result, repeat orders no longer came as quickly. Unfortunately, it's all due to the situation where there is a shortage of skilled workers... It's a shame... We still ate well

We had a business event at Rössli, we had fondue chinoise and the meat was great, the service was very friendly and accommodating. I'll be back.

Highly recommended. Eaten so well, first with the eyes, because it looked so beautiful that I photographed it first. Efficient, friendly staff, and the four of us all got our food at the same time. At the entrance you get the warm feeling of welcome, attention to detail and creativity. This was absolutely confirmed on the plate while eating. Typical Appenzell country inn. Reservations (at least on weekends) are advisable in the evening. Food was very good and the service was very friendly.

Have been there for dinner 4 times. The food is always very good but the service leaves a lot to be desired.

The food was very good, unfortunately it wasn't served together (4 people) but the table next to us who ordered after us got it earlier. However, you could see that it was NOT the service, because they only brought what was prepared by the kitchen. You read a lot about the service here, but I have to say that it was polite despite being full inside and outside (sara with the short hair, you're just great, you're throwing the shop for two service employees, hats off to you!! the other lady with blonde hair long hair, she wasn't really customer-oriented when working. That means walking across the table, just clearing it up without asking if you're done, letting her son help out at the table service (an absolute no go) The fact that the service can't see the wishes if we don't say anything, sorry, then I feel more sorry for the guest and not the staff! Thanks to the boss who always asked about what was going on. You too are human and mistakes can happen to you, but you have definitely gained 2 new regular customers with us!! TOP restaurant :)

We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch at the Rössli. 10 people a la carte. The food was wonderful and beautifully presented! The service was friendly, polite and, despite the full restaurant, always patient and very decent! Sara (with the short hair) served us very courteously! Only the starters didn't all come together, but with a full house I wouldn't expect that. By the way, we can only recommend the Steakhouse Week, we will definitely come again because we had so much fun!

Seven of us had lunch at Rössli on Sunday, the quality of the food was good, but the service was terrible! 40 minutes waiting time for a portion of fries is simply too long. The empty meat platter was removed and no new one was brought. When I asked, I was told that it wasn't “a la discretion” food, but that no one had to starve. A new meat platter was brought to us, but about 500 g of meat for 7 adults is very lean. After that there was nothing more! As compensation they wanted to offer us a schnapps, but of course we decided not to, just as WE will not visit this restaurant again. NEVER AGAIN RÖSSLI!

A pity! The food is excellent and has never disappointed me! However, the operation messes everything up. I have read several times now that the service was described as “not friendly”. Unfortunately I can only confirm this. I especially find the woman with short hair very unfriendly. We asked her for something that she ignored...customer requests/orders were also ignored. During dessert it was pointed out that we should decide quickly that she could close the kitchen (1 hour before the restaurant closes)... If you want some good food, Gasthaus Rössli in Hundwil is the right place. But if you also want good service, then you are in completely the wrong place.

It was very fine, prompt and friendly service. Our dog was also allowed to be there. Keep it up and thank you very much.

Yesterday I was in the Rössli for the first time. We were a group of 16 people spread over 2 long tables. At the beginning the staff was friendly, but something went wrong... The technology failed and so we waited almost an hour for our food. We had already received the söseli and passed them around. They were already dry on the plate by the time the meat finally arrived. 1 plate for 8 people at the table, unfortunately not enough for everyone. Then wait 30 minutes until the next record came. Nothing was brought together, everything was distributed, i.e. sometimes there were söseli, then some fries, some vegetables and then the meat. You also had to wait about 20 minutes for the drinks when reordering. The söseli were immediately filled back into the same bowls. I find it unhygienic, who says that they really only came from our table? Such stress as they had and such confusion. This is how you make yourself popular. You will never see me or my husband again. And when we asked the staff about it, they only gave curt excuses... catastrophe.

Price/performance ratio is excellent. The Fondue Chinoise in particular is unrivaled in the region. Super seasoned fries, a generous variety of vegetables, fruits and sauces with good Chinoise meat. Prices are on the website.

As always, the food was very tasty, we had Fondue Chinoise. There are 5 stars for the kitchen! But unfortunately the service was nothing, unfriendly and inattentive. We waited 20 minutes in front of empty plates until we could order meat for the second time and that only because we called her. She didn't come once to ask about something, we always had to look for you first and then call you. Sorry, that's not possible! but that actually ruins the good food

Such a shame, the food was pretty good even if it was on the expensive side, but the head server was so unfriendly. Really sad, but you won't see me here anymore.
