I would avoid this place if you are planning on eating good Indian food. The quality is disappointingly bad and the prices are relatively high. Place is run down, toilets flooded and there's a noticeable lack of hygiene.

The worst experience I've had in my life. We ordered food and I went to the bathroom. The toilet door was locked from the inside because the door handle fell off. I screamed, no one came. Where my friend noticed I was a long way away and came to free me and the food was almost cold. They didn't even apologize and had to pay for the food that we didn't even eat. Excellent food! Amazing hospitality, best part was trying hot naans and don’t forget to taste their fresh mint chutney - was the highlight of our meal! Team Palais Indien have done a fabulous job!!! Also great Jain options available!

We have come several times (since the winegrowers' festival) and we are never disappointed, the dishes are delicious and the portions generous. We also ordered as a caterer for two home parties, always excellent and really plentiful. Indian cuisine offers a great choice for vegetarians. The waiter and the boss are very friendly and attentive. There is no alcohol like in the majority of Indian restaurants; this is mentioned on their site, like being able to bring your bottle of wine without paying the corkage. But there is non-alcoholic beer, chai, delicious lassis, and others. We definitely recommend!

Excellent restaurant, very well appointed, charming with very pleasant background music. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be very well known so I sincerely recommend this place. We used UberEats to order Paneer Pakora but we received Paneer Butter Masala (-1 star), Athe chutney leaked all over the bag (-1 star), the Samosas were not warm (-1 star), and the requested utensils were not included which made it difficult to eat in our hotel room (-1 star). I love Indian cuisine. I memorized their name by heart . I was craving for Indian in Montreux. I Foud 2 places near by each other . Fate brought me to this one . We arrived at 9pm , closing was at 10:30. This place puts Indian food to shame . The rice was bitter and cold . The masala was so terrible I couldn’t describe it. We basically didn’t eat at all and paid for it . Maybe some of you would say , it’s because you came an hour and a half before closing . So no reason you were served the left overs !!!!

Had a wonderful experience having lunch at this awesome Indian restaurant in Montreux, Switzerland. The decor and vibes are very fine, beautiful and lovely, the food is absolutely delicious and the staff is extremely polite and professional. The prices are quite reasonable and portions quite generous. We just loved it.

We saw this restaurant on the way to our hotel and seeing the location , thought it to be a good option. But it was the worst Indian food we ever had. Chapatis were not even rolled properly . Butter was stale . Dal fry was something you would never order in your life if you ate it here for the first time . We have had Indian food in many parts of the world as we are frequent traveler , but the food we ate here was the worst !

We were a bit dubious about going here having read the previous reviews. However, tiredness and hunger forced our decision. The place was practically empty when we got there (we were early). The server was helpful and patient and even helped us tailor our daal to make it more palatable for the kids. Overall we had a decent experience and came away happy with the food. The price was bit on the higher side, but I suppose that's the case with most places around here.

We landed up here as all other restaurants were closed. The food is pathetic ( no indian flavors ) , undercooked and the nan was smelling pungent due to excessive yeast. The waiter does not understand simple instructions and beware as you may turn up with wrong dish on your plate. In our case , even after serving the wrong dish the chef kept arguing blatantly. The tables were sticky and not clean. Overall pls try to save yourself the torture of going to this restaurant.. a black spot on swiss hospitality.

Bad service, no consistency and quite an ugly place overall, they've been around for years and looks constantly empty.

Had aloo Paratha with curd. 9 CHF for 2 tiny parathas and 3 CHF for literally 3 spoon full of raita. Post that had tea there. Tea was good but the parathas and the curd was a little too short in the serving for the price they charged. Curd/ raita was practically a couple of spoons for which there was a seperate charge in the menu. Was practically a joke in the name of raita. Aloo parathas were more of the size of aloo tikki you get in India. Have given 2 stars only for the Tea.

VEG OK!!! A truly Indian restaurant in the center of Vevey. I really appreciated the spiciness of the dishes, their quality and the abundance of the portions. Honest price and absolutely well commensurate with the quality. There are many vegetarian options, few vegan ones but you can find something. Among the dishes, the cheese bread deserves a mention.

Not good service. There's just 1 waitress for the entire restaurant ( we went on a Saturday). Very tiny portions for the price we pay. Steamed rice was literally just 4 spoons. They do not serve rice or roti with curry. It has to be ordered separately. Overall- super pricey for tiniest portion.

This is not Indian food! I am sorry to say the food is not good at all. We took Biryani, lamb and chicken with naan. None of the dish are good. The lambs seems chewy and undercooked. The gravy has undercooked proportion of onion and garlic! The same is true for chicken gravy. The worst was biryani! The rice was smelly and the chicken is shredded and the spice ! It's such a horrific experience.

Services at this place were terrible. There was only one person for taking orders, serving food, cleaning table and the payment, hence we waited loooong to have our food. It took around 40 min to order food. We finally had our food after 1 hour and 30 min. Food quality was good but the waiting time was terrible. Although we asked for having the bread earlier in the end they brought everything together after 1 hour and half. I would not recommend this place … as they do not really care about customer satisfaction.

We are on this restaurant and enjoyed all the food we ordered, specially the lamb karahi and daal fry. Service was good and loved the interior of this place. I would recommend this restaurant if you visit Montreux and want authentic Indian cuisine.

So today I planned to eat outside after so long and i decided to do my lunch in indian restaurant in montreux so I planned to do my lunch from royal Palais indien restaurant and my first expression was wow as I like the ambience the arrangement of lighting format is fabulous and the lady in counter was very warm welcoming and greeted me once I was their and then escorted me towards the table and handed over me the menu and then I ordered butter chicken my favourite with butter nan bread and once my order is taken then I waited for a while and when my order came I was surprised as lady service me brought me rice too and I had butter chicken with rice and butter nan bread which was delicious and I loved it so much and I ordered spicy but it was medium spicy for me but it's ok.. masala tea is also very good as I use to drink in back india. It's like I am not in switzerland as I am in india. I would like to thank you all for such a nice experience for me... Thanks a lot ... I will recommend it to my friends and will come back again.. in future... And dine again with such a good restaurant.. highly recommended...

Once I found this, stumbled upon it a while back in lockdown, Im' hooked. The friendly guy at reception taking my orders, adding extra chilis, such a great deal with the plat du jour....unbeatable. A real Tandoor so the garlic butter naan is to die for. I now order 1 extra and eat it hot in the car on y drive home. Generous servings so leftover for 1 more lunch. ONce lockdown is over I am taking my friends and we're going to go crazy for tandoori chicken, black daal, paneer and kebabs.

Höhepunkt war das Dal Tadka, wenn man es so nennen darf. Es bestand eigentlich nur aus Wasser, ich kann den geringen Einsatz von Linsen nicht nachvollziehen, Linsen sind nunmal nicht so teuer, hier wurde an der falschen Stelle gespart, und ich möchte nicht wissen, wie es dann mit der Qualität der Fleischgerichten ist. Gut war Reis und die Pakoras und deshalb gibt es einen Punkt. Ich kann dieses Restaurant absolut nicht empfehlen.
