The hiking trail leads somewhat steeply uphill (direct route) ;-). Alternatively, the asphalt road could be used. Good cuisine and very friendly employees. Descent possible with scooter. Great, recommended excursion in the Appenzellerland.

Very nice mountain inn high above the town of Brülisau. From the inn you have a great view of the Appenzeller Land, the Alpstein and of course up to the Hoher Kasten and the Kastensattel. The inn has large terraces for a comfortable rest. And that's a good thing because when the weather is nice, it quickly gets quite busy here. The menu is not very large but the dishes are so much finer. We had a sausage with cheese ham and applesauce. Simply very tasty. The prices are within the normal Swiss average. The waitresses are very friendly and quick, even when it's busy. Thank you for everything. We'll definitely come back to our retirement home soon.
