The food is excellent, the waitress extremely courteous, charming and professional. This is how I like to spend my time on Friday evenings in Zurich. Just a bit very noisy after a certain time, but we still felt so comfortable that we stayed much longer than originally planned. Gladly again soon.

I visited this establishment this evening and I'm actually a bit disappointed. I was hoping for a little tobacco snack for my nose, the name suggested it to me, but my wish wasn't fulfilled. Instead I was hit off with stupid comments

NYTimes mentioned this in their 36 hours in Zürich review, so we went. Got there at opening, sat at the bar and couldn't hear ourselves think over one of the bartender/servers(?) (we aren't sure what he was) relay loud story, after story to his co-workers, like it was a frat house. I had to ask the bartender (who was telling us about the menu- one actually doing his job) to repeat himself because this person was so loud. My husband and I were the only guests in the entire place. "Front of house" needs help and is keeping the place down. We heard them making fun of the new clientele because the NYT put them in this 36 hours review. Apparently this "front of house" thinks they’re above client service and reviews. We only had pommes frites because we didn't stay that long. They were very good.

We had 8 beers, they tried to charge us 9 and the waitress drop one on us. They still charged us for the beer they drop on our clothes and the bartender answer was an extremely arrogant “it happens” and a smirk laugh.

Awful service! Bartender was very rude and spilled 5 drinks on all my party and still proceeded to charge us for it. After explaining our clothes were full of drinks the bartenders response was “that happens you still have to pay”. Watch out!! Attitude was very rude and arrogant, very sexist!

No longer the hidden gem it used to be but still cosy and casual. The staff is attentive and genuinely kind. This place has been serving consistently great food throughout the years and continues to do so. If it is your first time, make sure to get their signature dishes: artichoke as a starter and steak frites as main.

I tried most of it, e.g. the filet, the Sardellen, the Artischocke and they offered Semmelknödel on this day. It all tasted great.
