I've wanted to do a review for this restaurant for a long time, but more than anything, it's the Chef who recommended the meat to me, something wonderful. I was looking for them a month ago.... I have already eaten Wagyu at other restaurants but here it was truly the TOP. It was crowded, but they still found a seat for me. I ate Pure Blood Wagyu - You already understood everything & the selection of wines, wonderful... Everything was excellent, very kind staff.... Prices, read carefully before ordering :-)

Delicious steakhouse with courteous and great service. You feel in good hands here. The steakhouse can be easily reached via Niederdörfli either by public transport or car. The price is certainly higher, but the high quality of the meat and the extremely friendly service make it worth paying a visit to this steakhouse.

Rather inconspicuous from the outside, I was surprised by the interior of the restaurant. Very nicely decorated and the staff is very attentive - even on a Friday evening when it was very busy. The meat was very tender and tasty, absolutely worth the price. Can highly recommend the chocolate mousse.

Beautiful restaurant with great staff but everything I had was extremely salty. They offered me a drink as a “sorry” but I didn’t want one. Nothing comp’d or reduced despite me barely eating anything. If you don’t like heavy, heavy salt- order without salt or salt on the side.

We ordered a bone in rib eye for 600gr and a quarter (if not 1/3) was just fat. We pointed this out to the waiter to no avail. As always, the ambience was great.

Good offer and ambience, personally I think it's a bit overpriced, but that's probably because of the location. All in all, a good evening.

Great experiences, starting with the waiter who talked passionately about meat, its types, origins, differences in taste, hardness, etc., ending with the taste sensations of the above mentioned. The restaurant belongs to those quite expensive, but you leave feeling full and happy, so worth it.

It’s a place you want to like because the atmosphere feels good and looks like a cool American steakhouse but it fails and a few different levels. With the price points being hundred dollars per steak, my expectations were fairly high. The service was odd, because we started with one waiter, and then others rotated through which made it pretty awkward. It appeared the first waiter wound up at a table with eight people so I felt like he abandoned us for a bigger tip, but there is no explanation. This led to getting the wrong wine. Then I ordered a bottle of wine but received a glass of wine, also the wrong one. All of that was unavoidable if there was one waiter. They also brought out the meat on a big platter to show you the cuts before they prepare it🙄 but our waiter left it on our table and the diners table next to us for about 10-15 minutes. The steaks themselves were very average. My friend ordered the Argentinian steak €90 which was much better than my 60-day dry aged ribeye, which was very chewy and not worth the price of €129 (400 grams) the minimum you can order. I understand it is a place for special occasions, but the price point compared to the quality of everything didn’t match and I definitely would not go back. The total for two of us with steaks, wine, one dessert and two sides came to 430 francs. 🙄 That’s all for now.

One of the best Steakhouse I ever been too. The intern of the restaurant I really liked it and has a vibe itself with not so much light. Staff is really cordial, they advised me a good wine and the choice of the food. Speaking of my Bife de Lomo (68 CHF for 250 gr)it was so soft that will melt in my mouth, my boyfriend took Bone Ribe Eye 60 days aged 500 gr (145 CHF) and it was good too quality you can see just a little bit of fat at the end. Country fries were good too (8.-) and the sauces too. Dessert was a hit too (15.-). Total bill 270.- it’s a lot but for the quality that you receive is worth it. And one time per year is okay (for me ). Really enjoyed the experience

I would like to highlight the chefs as positive, because they conjure up excellent dishes and don't spend the first day at the stove - so definitely recommended in terms of food! Fortunately, the service is a different category and must be evaluated separately in this case. In this case, there can be no talk of trained service staff! To define this more precisely: It is not polite in any corner of the world to take photos of other guests over a guest's table if it disturbs the former! Furthermore, it is not a pleasant way to take care of some guests and simply forget others (difference: regular guest/tourist). As a professional service person, you should remember that both pay and therefore both should be taken care of! The fact that very few drinks and, in some cases, food found their way directly to the tables because the employees were not given precise instructions or did not know the table number makes the whole process even more unpleasant. “Effort” is a key word in this case and best describes the overall situation of the stay. For perfect service, it's best to go somewhere else. There are two points worth mentioning about the equipment: firstly, you should give serious thought to smoke development; On the other hand, the toilets are comparable to any underground bar in any big city in the world and are therefore inappropriate for this upscale ambience.

Despite a reservation we waited 15min to be seated. They refuse to serve tap water for some reason and I find that highly unacceptable. The beef filet was excellent however, the porterhouse was only ok. Would not recommend for the price.

I came here for my birthday and it was absolutely incredible! The food was insanely delicious and even better than the food was the service! I’d come again just for the service! We had Kostov and Tomas as our servers and they were hilarious and so attentive. They truly made our night so special and it was a birthday meal to remember! I hope for anyone going that you’ll get Kostov or Tomas as your servers! 🥰

We went out to eat on Saturday but didn't have a reservation. Since there were only two of us, we were still able to get a spot. The restaurant was full. The meat was really tasty and tender. The staff was very attentive and considerate. It is definitely recommended.

I made a reservation for a group at 7 p.m. We were then shown to the table. I treated myself to a gin and tonic and then we switched to the menu. I ordered a NY club steak with truffle fries. The rest of the group ordered lamb and a grill platter. I love this grilled meat and devoured it (1 star deducted because of a lot of fat, which is of course significant). Otherwise great atmosphere and attentive staff. Will come back in December. Thanks for the cool evening.

I was there for Christmas dinner with my team and most of the team said at the end that they would never be seen there again. We ordered a maxi bottle of red wine for 195.-. Since they apparently didn't have it (later it was said that they did have it there...), they wanted to serve us the same wine in two normal bottles. We agreed to that. At the end there was a different wine on the bill for 145 each! When we reported that we had never ordered such an expensive wine and no one pointed out the price to us, a far too long discussion ensued. In summary, we would have gotten a mega upgrade and finally drank the wine etc. At some point they offered us a 20.- discount per bottle, which we didn't want to accept because we never asked for an upgrade and it obviously wasn't our mistake , even if we didn't check again during the tasting that everything was right. When we were kindly charged for the maxi bottle, a short time after the discussion another employee came to the table and started discussing again. If we were stingy, we wouldn't go to Simon Steakhouse, it's just about customer focus, which I felt was missing here. On a nice evening in a restaurant like this, I don't want to spend 30 minutes in a discussion. This problem was preceded by other beginner mistakes: The dessert for the whole table was forgotten, apparently a cash problem.. It can happen. When the dessert came, one dessert was forgotten and it came when everyone had long since finished. Annoying but oh well. We had a timeslot at 8:45 p.m. and were there on time. It was already being cleared away when, for example, it was my turn to eat the starter and at the same time the question arose as to whether the main course could be brought out. At first I thought it was a joke. It wasn't. With the main course LITERALLY still in our mouths, the question about dessert arose as the kitchen was about to close. A huge amount of stress, even though a high pace was already imposed on us. I think the customer shouldn't be worried about the time if they offer an 8:45pm slot.. The ambience is great, the appetizer platter is also great. The main course platter with various cuts of meat was mediocre. The quality of the meat was definitely top, but it was prepared absolutely carelessly and was therefore anything but tender. Unfortunately the meat wasn't worth the price. If you wanted to get some fresh air between the main course and dessert, the employees were already hanging around at the tables in the entrance area after their (well-deserved) end of work and stretched their feet into the aisle, which you were then allowed to step over because they were too busy watching cell phone videos .. And having to pay at the checkout at the end and standing in a long queue feels more like canteen level. Really annoying, although the one gentleman from the service was really very nice, always had a hat on, was very committed to our satisfaction and drank a tequila with us. I actually came as a big fan of this restaurant (I've been there twice so far) and wanted to share my joy about this restaurant. But with such a high price, the level shouldn't depend on the day's form. You shouldn't rest on your laurels, otherwise your good reputation will quickly be lost.

Appreciate the last minute accommodation. Service was great. Steak - overrated. I’m from New York and i don’t think this was of quality. Bland for sure and wine pour was very little. I wouldn’t come back.

We stopped here for our team Christmas dinner. From A to Z everything was great. Service is always very friendly and accommodating. We ordered platters to share. There was more than enough starter and it was really tasty, but not comparable to the main course. The meat platters were simply divine. The meat was cooked perfectly, the side dishes were a dream. The truffle fries are really tasty and don't have an intrusive truffle taste. For those who don't eat meat, there was a tuna steak. The dessert platter with various sweet temptations was a hit. I would love to come back here.

Since we were a big group, they quickly organized the best way to serve different types of meat to everyone including the sides. They even helped us surprise the birthday person. Cool ambiance and a great place to return someday. Only in the beggining we had a small problem where they wouldn't sit us even though there was already people from our group in the table, probably failed communication between staff. Overall we enjoyed it very much. Recommend it!

Quality of the food excellent. Only the salad is drowning in sauce. Very good meat, very good service. Ambience deduction because the women's toilets are really marginal and it is very loud in the restaurant. In addition, very quickly after we had eaten we were asked to pay and leave, the table had to be released again (we were in the restaurant for 1.5 hours and left 300 behind). I understand that you want to use and allocate the tables as much as possible in the evening in order to cover the costs, but you have to remember that 300 is still a lot of money for one person and you don't get paid for it as soon as you've finished chewing has been scared away.

There were three of us there. Meat was perfect, but for the price, the service was a disaster. It was also too hectic and narrow. We won't come again. There are better and cozier restaurants in Zurich for meat lovers.

My wife and I ate here on our last night in Switzerland and were disappointed. We ordered a maragarita. The waiter even repeated the order but still brought out a Pina colada. The worst offense was the steak order. My wife said out loud she wanted a bone in rib eye and pointed at the menu. The waiter repeated the order and went over the price of the rib eye. A T-bone porterhouse was brought out instead. The waiter insisted we ordered the T-bone, and said not to worry and it's better than the rib-eye anyway. Really? The overall flavors were good, but what's the point when the order was wrong? We didn't want to make a scene in a foreign country so we just ate what was served. Blah.

If i could rate them more than 5 stars i would give them 10 stars !!! One of the most amazing places i have ever been too .. The food is amazing .. the staff are friendly and smily .. the atmosphere is great .. They have a halal menu and this is the most important thing to me. The stake is one of the best stakes i have ever tried in my life and that made me come again the next day, we dined in two days in a row. Simply WOOOW!!!

The waiter was very polite. He showed me 3 different kinds of meat and made some recommendations. In the end, I ordered the wet aged beef and the Australian Wagyu (if you don't like strong taste, don't order this one). The meat was cooked well. They served 5 different kinds of salt to try with the meat. Overall, I was impressed with the service and satisfied with the food. I paid 160 CHF for the two meat cuts and a salad.

I expect from such a high-priced restaurant that the toilet facilities are checked and cleaned if necessary. Something like that in such an expensive restaurant, well... The restaurant is very loud, you almost have to shout at each other at the table in order to have a comfortable evening. Not recommended. It's also very hectic.

The three of us (one vegetarian) paid 334 CHF and were almost thrown out after 2 hours. Simply outrageous!! Extremely expensive and rude high 10! We should drink our last cocktail at Ex, we were asked to leave twice within 5 minutes! 10 CHF for water that we couldn't even drink! A 1CHF tip is even too much for the store.
