Stadthauscafe in Basel

The cakes, sandwiches, etc. are good and fresh, the room is just very small and narrow, the tables are close to each other and therefore the ambience is not that cozy.

One of the smallest cafes in Basel. Small but nice. Unfortunately there was a star deduction because of the coffee. My cappuccino didn't taste like what I know from other baristas, it was covered with a lot of foam and tasted slightly bitter. Otherwise I was welcomed and served very nicely. It is also suitable for dogs to be in the café. So all dog lovers you are welcome here. There was a great selection of sweet pastries. My highlight of the Stadthauscafé, the lighting with the Baslerstab. 😍 As a Basel resident, my heart opens. Thank you Stadthauscafé

Lovely cafe with a nice atmosphere both inside and outside in the courtyard. The coffee and desserts are excellent, as well as the focaccia sandwich with prosciutto and vegetables. Reasonable prices and wonderful service.

Great service! I came here with my family to grab a bite and have some coffee. The owner reccomended an excellent sandwich with prosciutto and eggplant. Definitely will come back on my next trip to Basel!

Very nice location for breakfast with a very historical building. The internal area was very quiet and in the morning was amazing to enjoy the cakes and coffee. The service was good and the lady was able to speak english

Excellent bar where you can have a good sweet breakfast. The place is very small but nice. You can eat outside in the internal courtyard which is really nice. The fruit baskets with custard are very good. The flavors are well balanced. Normal prices and good service. The espresso macchiato is excellent like the Italian one.

I go regularly... in addition to the delicious cakes, there are great focaccia sandwiches with vegetables... Everyone who works there is very welcoming... I really enjoy going there, I can only recommend it.. A great location even at carnival time!

The chocolate cake was very tasty and the atmosphere was tempting, but the service was rude, not very hospitable and the prices were high… no thanks!

The best cafe in Basel. A wonderful atmosphere and the finest cakes, tea and cafés always ensure a relaxing break while strolling through the city. Ms. Eisenhut runs the café with a lot of love, so that you always feel very comfortable as a guest.

It's a shame that you can't visit at the moment, it's a wonderful atmosphere and there are wonderfully delicious things to eat

Here you can eat very well, find a few newspapers to choose from and receive friendly, occasionally somewhat absent-minded, service.

It's very nice here, it has eight small tables and high chairs. HAS A VERY HUGE lamp. Very bright cafe, great atmosphere.

We had breakfast there today. The staff was super nice and immediately offered us a place to sit in the courtyard. A dream! Lots of greenery, it was like being on vacation! Any time! Thank you for this experience!

Perfect insider tip: The Stadhauscafé is more or less at the top of my list for lunch restaurants. The choice of food is limited (it's also "just" a coffee): soup, salads, Bircher muesli and... focaccias!! I don't know of any that are as tasty as these. I go there on average once a week - a focaccia is a must. To my delight for the owner, things are going very well - a reservation is almost mandatory... I always think it's great when someone does something with passion - and then has great success (with the business fully booked)

Although everything is homemade, the selection for a café is very small (cakes, etc.). There is only space for 8 people in the café, which isn't exactly large and comfortable.
