This week, I had the pleasure of dining at what I can confidently say is the best Thai restaurant in Zurich ❤️ With its fabulous food and fantastic presentation, each dish served was a masterpiece that tantalized the taste buds and delighted the senses. 🙌 From the moment I stepped in, the super funny and friendly staff made me feel welcome, adding a personal touch to the dining experience that was both warm and memorable. It's not just the food that's amazing here; the drinks menu was equally impressive, featuring a selection of beverages that perfectly complement the spicy, sour, sweet, and savory flavors of Thai cuisine. 🌸 But let me tell you about the star of the show: the coconut soup. It was, simply put, to die for. Rich, creamy, and bursting with flavor, it was a comforting hug in a bowl, perfectly embodying the essence of Thai cooking. It's a dish that I'll be dreaming about for days to come. 🥥 In conclusion, if you're in Zurich and have a craving for authentic Thai cuisine, look no further. This restaurant is a culinary oasis that promises an unforgettable dining experience.

The food is great and tasty. The staff are friendly and helpful and I liked the great service. There are good options to eat Asian food and If your new to Asian food. This is the place to eat. 2 pax It was a great value for money since we had 3 dishes and wine

Unfortunately, the noise level in the small restaurant is so high that you can hardly have a conversation. The food was good and the service was very friendly, even the coats are taken away and taken to the cloakroom.

Great, speedy, attentive and very friendly service in a small but successful, pretty atmosphere - full marks. Food was good, good meat quality and nicely prepared, very small negative point. Frozen vegetables, cauliflower, broccoli and carrots in the Thai dish. Leave that out and replace it with authentic vegetables, then it would be 5 stars.

Found this place by quickly searching online. Turned out to be a great spot. Food was really great.

Looked like a nice setting but unfortunately does not cater for vegetarians (was told only a soup and one dish is vegetarian) as majority of dishes contain fish or shell fish. Just a heads up for those who are expecting good vegan/veggie choices.

food was very nice! the price was a little high but they use swiss meat, which will be part of the price. the waitress and waiter were very friendly and attentive and the offered tap water.

Rather small, but the food and service more than make up for the first impression! We ate incredibly well, the food was served very quickly and the service was courteous and friendly. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Sweet Basil!

My husband and I Visit this restaurant quite regularly. The food is delicious and service efficient and friendly. Seating is a bit cosy. Price is fair for what you get. I would highly recommend it.

Wonderful ambience! A bite-CH-en SEA ASIA in Switzerland is not possible. Fantastically spicy PadThai - huge prawns next level - fried banana dessert fantastic! Gwinna and Mint are super warm and ask at the right moments if everything is okay. Brilliant restaurant! Highly recommended!

Very nice Thai restaurant, worth trying! The food was very delicious, although I think it’s not authentic but quite adapted recipes. It doesn’t affect the experience, we were happy to try the dishes. Staff is very friendly and we got a table without reservation. A bit pricey comparing to other Thai restaurants in Zürich.

My friend and I were in a super hurry but we needed to eat before attending a 3 hour class. We popped into Sweet Basil and were treated like royalty. They absolutely understood we were in a rush and got our food out in a flash. But they did not skimp on quality. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious. I am definately going back when I have lots of time.

I had high expectations walking into this place based on the unusual offerings from the special menu card. (E.g. “Chiangmai sausage” :Thai pork sausage with lemongrass; “Chiangmai noodles”: rice noodles in curry-like sauce topped with crispy egg noodle; Esan soup)The dishes that were marked as spicy were not and the unmarked ones surprised us with some heat from 🌶️ The service was friendly and provided lots of answers to our queries. In the end the value for money was low. And the 3 of the 4 dishes were more spicy, salty or sweeter than what we expected.

The food was very good and the waiter and manager were exceptionally nice and welcoming.

Fantastic Thai restaurant! I particularly recommend the red curry in a young coconut, as well as the lemongrass and pandan homemade ice tea. You can tell that this place cares about the quality of the food, it is very refined and delicious, the service is very friendly, the place is cosy with only a few table, overall one of my favorite restaurants in all of Zurich. I couldn't recommend enough!

All dishes are really tasty and as someone who has relatively low spicy tolerance, the spicy level of all food is perfect for me. All staffs are really nice and friendly. Definitely one of the best Thai restaurant I’ve even been to. Great food, great atmosphere and the price is reasonable. Last but not least, the Thai tea ice-cream is super yummy!! I’ll definitely go there again real soon.

I just ate here for the first time. Very impressed with the menu. The chef is Thai. Make food that tastes really good. Has a slight fusion vibe. Rich flavor but just the right amount of spiciness. Chinese can eat it. Westerners can eat it. Happy. My favorite is Tom Yum fried rice. Wrapped in young coconut, Pad Thai, Thai tea ice cream are also good. The staff (Khun Ple) provided very good service 😍

This restaurant was nice enough to accept a reservation for six at a short notice, so we were lucky to enjoy it's that food. The curry came inside an actual coconut, which was a new experience for me despite being a fan of Thai food. Overall, we're delighted with the food, except the Tom Yum soup, which was more sour than spicy for my taste.

Please do not trust this Restaurant about their opening our. They do not have any schedule of opening as published. We walk more than two miles as I saw in internet they open. When I got here they are closed at 8:40 pm. On line it says it close at 10:00 pm. So do not trust this please.

The food wasn't bad but for the price I've had much better Thai food in Zurich. The measly starter for 3 people for 44.- was absolutely overpriced. The service was top and we were very friendly. We won't go there again.

Pad thai is delicious and the service is friendly!!

I ordered Pad See Ew, unfortunately they are more tailored to European palates. In terms of taste, it just tasted normal, as if the noodle was just fried in soy sauce. The burnt crystallized sweetness as well as the smoky of dark soy sauce was missing. The egg and Chinese broccoli were not there. Instead, the regular broccoli. Overall it was still tasty. It's just not the typical Pad See Ew. I paid the equivalent of €37 for a cola and the pasta

Absolutely delicious! Authentic Thai food and amazing desserts. Must try the mango sticky rice, Thai red tea ice cream and the Basil sorbet with pineapple. The best part is the friendly staff especially Khun Gwinna who made the dinner extra special and enjoyable.

I have traveled to Thailand and can say this is definitely not authentic and has been adapted for what they think are local tastes. Ordered 2 dishes that were meant to be their most spicy and found both to be very mild (and I’m usually quite sensitive to truly spicy food). All dishes we ordered were not balanced and way too sweet. Service seemed friendly but after we had ordered a lot of food and a bottle of wine, they literally refused to bring us any tap water and said we had to order a bottle for CHF 7+. Seemed like a money making scam really as we had already spent over CHF 130 for 2 people. Suggest they be more accommodating as no other restaurant in my 2 weeks in Switzerland had an issue with bringing us tap water after considerable spending on food and wine.

Very good authentic Thai cuisine with a variety of different curry and wok Thai dishes. Very friendly and courteous service. The dessert, mango cream, was an extraordinary surprise and more than impressed me and my wife. It was just super good.

Extremely tasty Thai dishes. I had their chicken red curry served in a coconut, in the curry was fresh coconut flesh. Yummy! Love the presentation of the food and friendly staff. I come here as my go-to Thai place and it never disappoints. Highly recommend it.

Me and my partner had a reservation. Despite the reservation we got a table near the door where it was cold and secluded. There had been many other free tables. Was never sat so disgusting with a reservation! Does not go at all! The food was okei had already had better. Staff was loud and had funny looks. Is not recommended rather!

Super fine authentic Thai restaurant!

Absolutely delicious food. We ordered the Khao Pad Tofu, Geng Kheaw Whan Tofu (green curry) and Süsser Thai Mango und Klebereis. The Khao Pad Tofu was a mixture of vegetables and rice and had really nice subtle and rich flavours. The green curry was incredibly spiced and had a nice kick to it. We really enjoyed them both. I was looking forward to trying the dessert and it did not disappoint. The mango sticky rice was so creamy and sweet and delicious. YUM!

The restaurant was fully boarded in the evening. We ordered several dishes on trial. Everything was of high quality and delicious. A real taste of Asia 🤩Let's come back again! 👍

We were craving for Asian flavours with our 3 weeks long Europe trip and this restaurant did not disappoint! The taste of the dishes are super authentic and delicious that we decided to come back for dinner the next day to try out the other dishes. The staff here is very professional and welcoming and both nights, the restaurant is packed with guests, so remember to reserve a table in advance! Highly recommend!

The ambience was cosy, the service was friendly and attentive. The food was very tasty, served warm and scenically. We had curries and the phad thai, two desserts to share (mango mousse and the fried banana), the lemongrass drink and a thai beer. Price/quality was very good. I'd go again!

We came here again for our wedding anniversary after having our wedding dinner at this restaurant in 2014. As back then, the food was very authentic, tasteful and prepared with great attention to detail. The Sweet Basil is a little insider tip. Highly recommended!!!

Very nice and well-kept restaurant. There's a nice atmosphere. The dishes are good and plentiful and are presented well. The service was also very friendly and efficient. The only flaw: a 0.7l bottle of water for 7 francs! And you can't order tap water.

Best Thai in Zurich. Small but nice, the food is prepared with a lot of love and the employees are extremely friendly and accommodating. Very familiar atmosphere and the food is of very high quality and authentic. I always like to come back. Best dish: Hor Mol Chicken :-)

The food was beautifully prepared, but unfortunately the taste was not convincing given the high prices (33.- for a beef curry). There is no tap water and every water has to be paid for dearly, even though we ordered an expensive bottle of wine. To top off the sobering experience, we were asked to leave the restaurant at 10 p.m. Obviously profit and not hospitality is the priority here.

Tasty food, unfortunately the restaurant does not follow Swiss Covid regulations. No one from the staff cared to check guests' Covid certificates.

The waitress claimed she could not serve us tap water. This is: 1. Greedy 2. Harmful to the environment Don’t force us to pay for expensive water when eating spicy cuisine that gets shipped around from somewhere else when perfectly fine tap water is a handle turn away. It really made me mad and says a lot about the restaurant… especially disappointing because the food was phenomenal.

We have been eating at Sweet Basil for more than a year to take care of our Thai food craving! Amazing from À to Z. Rare in zurich to get the full package and to feel like you are right there, in the heart of the country and culture. We can only highly recommend. Enjoy.
