Is a Cafe with Japanese a gift shop. Rather on the shade side of the road. Nothing to kill. Takes time to get anything, they are slow

Embarrassing service, after 10 minutes of waiting I left, the waiter didn't really want to see me, he walked past me several times, people came and served everyone except me.

Sweetest little café near the lake with a nice newspaper & magazine selection. The matcha is really good.

THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS! We were at Monocle with a pregnant woman and wanted to order a chocolate cake, paid and sat down. The waiter came to us after a while and said that unfortunately they didn't have any more chocolate cake in the fridge because they had sold all of them during the day. He would look in the cellar to see if they still had fresh ones. After a while he came back empty-handed, then took the cake out of the cooled display case and came to us with the plate and the message: "yes, he found another piece in the fridge downstairs and we should enjoy it". It should be added that the cake is raw and resembles a mouse and therefore probably cannot be left uncooled in the display for a whole day and then sold. At first we thought it wasn't that bad until we both had to pay for it that night and ended up in bed for a day with food poisoning. No matter how expensive or cheap: You simply can't do something like that, especially not when the waitress sees that my wife is pregnant.

A lovely place near the city to have a drink, a coffee or a pastry. The vibe of the shop was amazing as well as the interior design. The area in which is located is very quiet despite the fact that there’s a street right next to it. Also it’s a cool spot to do some studying or even work through the day. The coffee was well made and delicious just like the pastries. It should be added that the staff was very polite and helpful which made the experience there even more enjoyable. Without a doubt a coffee shop you should visit.

Food could offer more for the price but otherwise: top. Service attentive and friendly. Friendly.

Mixed feelings about their new No Laptop policy. On the one hand, I get it. You don’t want people sitting around for a long time in their computers. On the other hand, when it’s the down hours and not busy, seems like an unnecessary policy and a good way to make guests feel uncomfortable when they’re unaware. Aside from that, it’s a good space. A little pricey but not too terrible. Probably 1CHF more per drink than I’d expect.

The place is super cool! Very good their Espresso and their chocolate cake. In the warm and sunny day it is nice sitting in the tables outside.

Nice and cosy atmosphere. Nice staff. Not much choice to eat like almost all the places in Zurich (Switzerland in general).

one of my favourite “hidden gem” in zurich! great vibe, with good-looking people, amazing service and super nice staff, located on the quiet street so u are not sitting in the typical jam-packed touristy area like Paradeplatz or oldtown. highly recommended for anyone who is looking for good coffee and more chill n cool vibe

I'm baffled by the new 'NO LAPTOP' policy. This cafe was a perfect place for me to unwind and get some tasks done. Now, it feels like they're pressing you drink your coffee and leave quickly. This ridicule effort to increase their profitability per seat will be at the expense of loyal customers.

No laptops allowed anymore?! So you read their magazines? As a frequent customer I feel completely ridiculed by this rule. I am going in a café to do what I want. Sorry but I wont come back with this stupid rule in place.

Good location in the middle of Seefeld. Still nice even in autumn because you can sit outside. "International" atmosphere - Kreti & Pleti meet.

The ambience and coffee are great, but the staff is slow and the croissants on Saturday are almost always from the day before, which is simply not possible for the price!

Well done on the use of the space indoors and outdoors. The Monocle touches with the shop and the radio space are unique. Drinks are standard and well presented.

VERY rude staff! The iced cappuccino is tiny. Go to vicafe instead or other much better cafes in Zurich.

Went here for a coffee on a Sunday evening. Lovely place with very cosy and unique ambience. I didn’t know about the monocle before going in and that its a lifestyle magazine and a media brand with radio station, website, etc based out of London. The staff was friendly, spoke english of course and they also had a small menu for food and cakes. Coffee was good. They also had a shop inside with nice, unique and very creative gift items and monocle stuff. The ambience of the place, the lights, the music and the overall setting was just amazing. They also have really nice outdoor seating overlooking the road. Some street parking available outside the cafe on the road. Would love to visit again and highly recommended!

Cool atmosphere, stuff to read and drink.

Sat down at the bar for a couple drinks after work on a Summer Friday. Easy going crowd and relaxed staff. Bar is mixed with a design shop with pretty things all around. I would expected this place to be located in hip Kreis 3/4, but no, it's here, on the "wrong" side of the lake ;-)

We didn't try the food. But the service was very nice and friendly. The coffee, beer and cocoa tasted good and we think the prices are worth it. Nice atmosphere and child friendly. We would love to come back

If you live in Seefeld you should definitely stop by this wonderful place. Nice coffee The guys who work there are great. The atmosphere is charming. Not so many choices of food but at a relatively good level.

The Monocle Café has become our favourite in our short stay in Zurich. We had a croissant with scrambled eggs and a plain one. Both were delicious. The service was fast and the staff was friendly. The atmosphere was quiet to rest and relax. In particular the fact that the tables were scattered so as to have enough privacy appealed to us. We will definitely go back!

Cappuccino OK Ambiance OK Concept nice But a croissant 4.50 CHF??? Overwrought!

I sometimes visit the Monocle Cafe in Seefeld after jogging by the lake, nice atmosphere here. You can easily start a conversation and meet people from the neighborhood as well as small business meetings. The benches and stools outside the window are not the most comfortable for me personally, but you can see a lot of who is coming and going or just passing by. The prices for a cappuccino for 6 Fr and a croissant for 4.50 (already a lot) are a little above average in Seefeld, but taste really good.

The stylish ambience is only surpassed by the arrogance of the service. Not only do they make you feel like they have better things to do, but if they get your drink wrong it is your fault. I ordered an iced matcha (period) 3 times last week. All of them I got a iced matcha latte. When I let them know I don't want any milk, the waiter proceeds to give me a master class in matcha drinks... Anyway, The Match Club close to Paradeplatz does it much better!

Lovely place. Nice coffee shop for friends and family.

You order coffee at the counter from a person who is obviously too ashamed to greet or even look at the guest... Then you give a tip after an electronic request and leave the restaurant without a thank you, convinced that the Monocle employees feel like the greatest heroes in the universe because they looked after you. Uncharming and unprofessional.

Interesting Cafe and shop. Has both indoor and outdoor seating. Can be good for doing work or meeting with friends.

Coffee is very bitter in taste, of course its a matter of taste Staff friendliness and service quality is very volatile

How cool is that? I love the atmosphere and the quiet I always find here… aaaand the best oat milk cappuccino in the city… and believe me I tried them all!

Lovely coffee shop in a beautiful neighborhood. Whenever I’m in Seefeld, this is my coffee shop of choice. The location is così, the service quick and good, the prices in line with Zurich. Definitively a strong recommendation

I’ve been there a couple of times and almost everytime i got greeted by mike. He’s so kind, very attentive and the guy to ask for drink recommendations. Wil definitely go again just to see his smile! Coffee and the matchas are amazing!

Just left monocle for the first time and spent a lovely evening there with my friend getting drinks🍸!! The Cocktails were stunning and the evening staff was so lovely, kind and helpful☺️! We had a lot of fun🤪 and will definitely be back here soon!

Great coffee shop with beautiful interior and an exciting and fun clientele. Every time I grab my flat white w/ double shot here, I enjoy the vibrant atmosphere to the fullest. Plus, with loyalty card, the coffees are less expensive than in comparable places. Warning: not suitable for uptight people with insecurities.

I was so happy to find out there was a location in Zurich. This is by far my favorite coffee shop in all of Europe. The coffee itself is amazing and the vibes are too. During late October you'll find the street covered in yellow leaves. Can't wait to go back!

The croissants were definitely from the day before - unfortunately that's not possible for this horrendous price. In general, quality and price unfortunately didn't match.

The atmosphere is truly unmatched, it’s well designed, softly lit and great for a cold winter’s day/evening. I’ve been here several times now and unfortunately the service is truly terrible. The staff behind the counter so far has always given me looks that feels like they’re bothered by my presence and as if I interrupted them from doing some other important work (mostly just chatter with other staff that just stands there). The hot drinks I got were usually served lukewarm to cold, which is not great at all. Their hot chocolate is from a powder and not well mixed, which at their prices is ridiculous.

Nice cafe with great seating and club atmosphere. Integrated shop and bookstore. Invites you to linger with a special (hip) spirit. Con: Coffee was very thin and didn't taste good, service was nice and attentive, slightly overwhelmed. Especially the American-speaking staff with fits of arrogance. Still a recommendation 👌

It-Place in Zurich’s Seefeld. Could also be New York, London or Tel Aviv. Very trendy. Audience too. Concept mix of bar, lounge, radio studio and shop. Prices are rather high, but it doesn't matter to the audience. Good vibes and mood. Staff very friendly. Always my pleasure..

Trendy coffee spot in Seefeld with an eclectic shop for travel-lovers. Staff is friendly, coffee is good, and the outdoor terrace is lovely in summer.

What should I say, very international coffee with very good coffee and nice surrounding next to very nice products you can buy. There are small daily lunches like soups🍲 and sandwiches 🥪. Perfect spot for short aesthetic break.

Cool atmosphere and nice people all around for this laid back café run by the world famous magazine. The interior is well designed and includes a small store with a collection of magazines and items from Monocle. The drinks are good, but not exceptional, and I'd say the food is pretty average, although it's no big deal since it's clearly not their focus. Service could be more helpful at times but waiters are mostly nice and understanding. Overall, it's an okay café with a good vibe in a woderful area of the city.

This bar is absolutely special. I passed by because I wanted to buy a book and I have been so treated so well by Mike and Lio. Two great guys that have a Monocle spirit in them and that really took the time to show me everything and explain me the thrilling history of the bar. If you are new in a city or just here for a visit, this place is a must visit! Thanks team Monocle to make my day!

Excellent coffee and excellent service

Nice ambience and good selection of coffee creations. Food wise, they offer a rather small but tasty selection (I would recommend the avocado toast if you’re looking for something light and simple). The books, stationary and small selection of accessories is pretty good but pricey. The few clothing items are simply overpriced. It’s probably the best café in Seefeld, can’t give the 5 stars due to the inconsistent service. It ranges from amazing to horrific, with either a superb experience unwashed coffee cups. If this can be avoided, this place would be worth a 5-star rating

Located only 10 minutes away from the Opera House, in a tranquil street with lovely trees, the Café is inviting, the staff very friendly and helpful. The espresso was perfect, short and strong. A huge array of magazines, books ( loved the Der, Die Das, if you are learning German get it! ) and I think at least eight or nine newspapers, domestic and from abroad. To the right of the periodicals you'll find the Monocle, with decor items, some clothing, writing tools, scents etc., unfortunately all very overpriced, even for Zürich. Definitely worth the visit!

This is a good place if you are looking for an Italian-type coffee. Results though vary (from excellent to decent) depending on the barista which is bummer as you’ll never know if your day will start on a good note or not. When it’s well executed, its like being in a good Italian café. There is a great street terrasse and, bonus, on sunny days you might enjoy the sometime parade of fancy cars and luxury fashion brands. You can also just show up in shorts and t-shirt as I do.

Cool place for an iced coffee in the summer.

This place is pretending to be a fancy one. Well, if it's so then there's no place for croissants which are made probably the day before. And the coffee is an essential product which cannot be bad. And there should be at least ANY (decent) service. Hence, it's not a fancy place, it's an overpriced place. Waste of time and money.

Cost for 1 croissant take away -> CHF 4.50!!! The staff then said about my astonished behavior: "welcome to Switzerland!" Sorry, but that has absolutely nothing to do with Switzerland. This is just usury and an impudence! By the way, the quality of the croissants left a lot to be desired.

Much better than the London store. Lots of space. If not outside, can always cozily find place inside. Good matcha (iced too). Obviously, you can buy a fresh Monocle issue here and a bunch of other non Monocle related magazines as well as Monocle‘s lovely books.
