We ate at Lipp yesterday, the service was super friendly and competent, the starters were excellent, the second course was also very good. For the main course we ordered the grilled half lobster with herb butter and lemon. Unfortunately it was very disappointing for me. There was anise in the herb butter, which wasn't mentioned anywhere and drowned everything out so much that I was unfortunately only able to eat a small piece; my friend ate the rest of the lobster. What I also have to say, of course it's a matter of taste, my friend liked the lobster with aniseed. If there's something like anise in an herb butter sauce, which is usually very unusual, it's important to mention it. Unfortunately, I would never order the lobster again. Everything else was great but of course I would still like to come back to you. Thanks

We loved our visit, it's like a Parisienne Brasserie but with a Swiss twist... Champagne on arrival delivered cold and fresh, fantastic oysters and caviar followed by a tuna tartare and a lobster from the grill. Great ambiance in the restaurant and fantastic service from Carmen who is always a pleasure to speak to and makes excellent recommendations. We will always come again.

Delicious meal, I recommend both the meat and the fish. The quantities and presentation of the dishes are perfect. The setting is very beautiful but the tables are a little too close so there is no privacy. Bad rating on the other hand on the gourmet coffee because 3 pieces (dry and tasteless macaron and small muffin without any taste) only the mini lemon tart is good. We were disappointed to end our good meal with this very negative touch ☹️

This is my first time ever writing a review for a restaurant among countless restaurants I have dinned in. Four of us came to this restaurant on the first night we got into Zurich. The service and atmosphere were 100% on par. Now the food, we ordered oysters, foie gras, French onion soup, escargot, a pot of moules, a pasta, and bottles of wine. We really enjoyed the food at the time until I got back to the hotel, where everything went down hill, MAJOR FOOD POISON. Full on experience with vomiting and diarrhea where I never experienced in my life time. Good job Brasserie Lipp, I will never forget you or the experience.

I was shocked. I love mussels. France, Belgium, UK, Italy, Switzerland - I always order mussels. By far, tonight I had the worse pot of Moules ever. Forget about the price, that’s my problem if I’m prepared to pay that tag. And the chips. Speechless!! Don’t bother responding. You have no defense. The proof is in the pudding!!

It is 5 times bigger than Geneva Lipp. Professional service, delicious food, nicely dressed public, excellent atmosphere. However for the general information it has nothing to do with Geneva Lipp. They are not in franchising. But it is as good as Geneva Lipp. Highly recommended!

Second time at Lipp. So as not to leave a bad impression and give a second chance. We wonder how the placement is done, the “beautiful” ones at the front, the “ugly” ones at the bottom. The dishes were lukewarm, with a frozen sauce due to the food warmer. You have a choice: you close your mouth and concentrate on the moment or you throw the dish away and ruin the moment. I chose not to say anything. I asked for bread which never arrived and pepper which arrived at the end of the dish. I never understand these establishments where we judge the customer based on their appearance or their leather goods, which is a shame because in the end we all pay with the same money. The toilets were almost like those of a club: empty rolls everywhere, no hand towels. Too bad, too bad....

Fabulous dinner. The previous time we hadn't had as good a time as usual, so last Friday we were in doubt until the last moment whether to return to this restaurant. And we're happy we did! The service was impeccable and it is very pleasant when the waiters remember the patrons. We ate divinely, the quality is always excellent. Consistent quality/price ratio. Well done!

I had a pumpkin soup for a starter a the small portion of mussels as a main. My friend the escargot and the entrecote. Both really delicious and price-wise still fair. The service was also very good and the atmosphere was French-like. So all very good and thus 5*.

We were guests at Lipp again and again for 20 years. Apparently they don't want us anymore. Then it's great if Candrian can afford it! We have two children who do not yet consume wine. We don't look rich (tip to the manager at the entrance: understatement is a question of style) and live in district 4 (can you see that?). At least we have manners and always got along well with the great serving staff, some of whom have been there as long as we have been guests! Unfortunately, for the last 2/3 years they've always wanted to push us to the back of the restaurant - and we don't feel like that. Whether we make a reservation two weeks in advance or spontaneously walk into a poorly filled restaurant at 6 p.m., the bald gentleman at the entrance always finds, after a long search on his display, the worst seat at the very back of the restaurant. Is this part of the Candrian strategy? Let's hide families with children, if not from Züriberg or visibly rich tourists. We don't really care... after 20 years with around CHF 1000 in sales per year with us, it's over now. We will miss the nice waitress and the nice waiters, but not the feeling at the entrance that we are basically unwanted.

This is another restaurant that is recommended when coming to Zurich. It's an old restaurant, good atmosphere, excellent service, delicious food. I ordered mussels. They taste very good, clean. Fish soup is another thing that shouldn't be missed. Recommended. There is a parking building not far from the restaurant.

Oysters and wine good. Service was catastrophic, no greeting, no napkins served, no butter knife, we had to dip the bread in the butter. Or 5 minizten wait until the service came again. Of course we communicated our dissatisfaction directly to the service, they took note and moved on... no apology... nothing. Price performance lowest level. Luckily there are enough places in Zurich with oysters 😀

Brasserie Lipp should have a very deserved general 4.8 to a 4.9 in my opinion. The reason it has 4.2 is probably because Zürich is full of too many pretentious people claiming to be Gourmet-specialists, taking a star away as soon as they didn't get their way. The food is excellent, the service is excellent and it's in the middle of a beautiful city. I enjoy it every time I come here, which isn't nearly as often as I'd like to. Thanks to the kitchen staff and R. Haas, my friendly and helpful waiter this evening. PS. Have you tried the apple pie? I'm not sure but the way it tastes like home, I'm inclined to believe they're keeping my grandmother captive in the kitchen.

We went there on 18 July this year. Food was good but could do better with seasoning and how food has been present just basic compared to prices just an average. On the time we went there. Services just looked a little bit chaos. Some customers did have to wait for food to come as only 2 waiter who looked after our section. We did ask for some ketchup and other customers too. Some got it and for some have to waited almost finished the plate and the came. Because Staff each time customers asked. Had to go get in the kitchen. As it's rush our dinner. With 2 staff, who looked after over 60 guests. At the end to paid so much for one dinner. Has been to this restaurant for the past 10 years. Food and services not was used to be.

Unfortunately I have to leave a one star comment here. I ordered a fish soup, the taste was really inedible, a very intense, strange taste like plastic. I didn't eat the soup and reported it to the waiter, who refused to take the soup off the bill. I've eaten fish soup many times but this broth had little to do with a great soup.

We had a great dinner at Lipp tonigh. It was a suprisingly quiet Sunday evening at Lipp. The service from Carmen was extrodinary! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ She is probably one of the fastest, and sweetest waiters I’ve ever had. Food was great from startert to dessert. Top 3: Onion soop, moules fritte and oysters. Good, but not on our top list: Foie gras, and langostino. I have a feeling that Lipp deserves a better reputation.

Brasserie Lipp is absolutely not recommended. First you are told off by a little gay Austrian that you should wait because the bar is full. While waiting, you could hear him reassuring other waiting guests who came after us that they would be passed by us. When I asked what that was about, I only got ridiculous excuses, and his work colleague had to get involved. Brasserie Lipp is more of a brasserie joke...it's a shame that there are such incompetent service staff in Zurich!!!

We have been going to LIPP in Paris for many years, just as people have been going to Café de Flore or Deux Magots for years. And certainly not always because of the good quality or the friendly service. You just go there! And we are always extremely suspicious when big French names appear as franchises somewhere in the world. Most of the time it doesn't go well. 🙈 We were all the more surprised by the LIPP in Zurich! Extremely friendly, competent and fast service. Very decent quality and preparation of the food (oysters, ceviche, sole, cheese). The Garçon knows what he is selling and can give advice, takes care of the wardrobe, even uses a table brush (!!!), and reports before he goes on break/hands over the service to a colleague. 👍🙏🏻 We sat and ate very well, the clientele is very pleasantly mixed. Toilets super clean and there are Molton Brown toiletries (!!!) and terry towels. 😍 To be honest: The LIPP in Zurich is way better than the original in St. Germain. 😬

Went out for dinner on Maundy Thursday evening with family and children (total -8 people). Starters and main courses were all ordered together, two main courses came after everyone had finished eating. A total of -3 bottles of wine consumed and a final bill of almost Sfr 1000.- The waiter (who caused the debacle with the main courses) even had the nerve to snap at my 85 year old father when the missing main course was pointed out to him! No gesture or compensation with an offered coffee or dessert! We will think twice about going to Lipp again...

This is a stylish shop with a slightly pretentious atmosphere, giving you a European inner-circle feel. That's not to say it's expensive, and you can enjoy delicious wine with fish, meat, Wiener schnitzel, etc. You can eat inside the store, or on sunny days, it's nice to eat outside. The customer base is also good. The location is convenient, just a short walk from the station, and of course you can also take the tram. When you take the elevator to the observation deck, there is a bar with a nice view. Enjoy your after-meal drink there.

The Lipp Brewery in Zurich needs no introduction. If you want a Brasserie dish, you will be at the right place at Lipp. The menu offers all the dishes from this French Brasserie. We decided on a starter of fish soup and a main course of sauerkraut. The fish soup is homemade. The taste is not too strong and the accompanying rust is of excellent quality. Sauerkraut is served on the table on chafing dishes. You will find pistachio sausage, bacon and Vienna sausage. The portions are substantial and the quality of the products is excellent. For dessert, a small millefeuille finishes the meal. The service is very attentive and professional. The only small negative point is the price of the wine. For brasserie dishes the wine list should offer more wines between Fr. 50.00 and Fr. 70.00. We took a bottle of a Château Gensac Terre à Terre white (Gers) at the price of Fr. 69.00 per bottle. The wine was excellent and is less known to the public than the big French names. In our time there are enough winegrowers producing completely acceptable wines for a non-exhaustive purchase price. We recommend this brasserie for its atmosphere, the quality of the products, the very good cooking and attentive service. Hoping that the management of Lipp will hear us about the wine, we will come back to taste a good brasserie dish again.

Atmosphere, furnishings and menu are consistent and correspond to the reputation. The prices too. My dish (Wienerschnitzel) certainly doesn't correspond to the core competencies. There was still a certain disappointment. The schnitzel was ok but small. The French fries were bland, lukewarm and (intentionally?) soft. The service was disappointing; despite there being fewer guests, drinks were forgotten and information was not passed on to the attached bar. For the price you can expect more. Overrated for me.

We have arrived an hour early of our reservation and asked if there was a table. The restaurant was half empty. The maître d gave us a frosty up and down and told us to go upstairs to the bar, he would call the bar if a table because.e available. After 40 minutes of 2 pricey cocktails and nibbles we came back down. The restaurant was still half empty. He looked annoyed and told us there were no tables available. We pointed to the numerous empty tables. He asked us to follow him and took us to the very back of the restaurant that had no ambiance whatsoever. An offered a lonely table in the furthest corner. I asked if we could take any other table he told us those were reserved. Following such a rude behaviour we felt belittled so much so that we left. After a treatment like this I would not give money to this restaurant

Atmosphere is good only when you sit in the front section, don't let them put you out back! The food is very good. French onion soup is traditional, and the muscles are perfectly cooked.

The cloud is descending Our first brunch months ago was ok. The again assigned bistro table, which was too small for 2 people, still required organizational skills and creativity - very limited space, including the distance to the table neighbors. The service took 10 minutes to arrive. Cappuccino and milk coffee were served in small coffee cream cups, the request for a larger cup - the challenge of the day. We went to the buffet at 12:15, the bread table was 3/4 empty. We asked the chef de service primarily about replenishment of braids. Answer: at this time (?) the full supply would no longer be guaranteed, and due to food waste there would only be a limited refill, the plait would still have to be baked, takes 20 minutes! At a price of just under 70 per person, we clearly expect a corresponding selection of bread, cheese, sausages, fruit and hot dishes. The bread table and the cutting board sank into crumbs. Just 2 different nameless jams in XL jars that the guest was allowed to scoop out of, Nutella no longer available, total rest stop feeling... All in all, an absolutely soberingly disappointing tower experience. Here you are definitely resting on the cloud of views and the (still) ongoing success, which is a shame! We will not visit this location again in the future - spend your precious money somewhere else!

Great place in Zurich Hardbrücke! Sensational food, cool drinks and great service. Always worth a visit! But be sure to reserve!!

During the first serving, the meat was really too cold. After we reported it to the friendly waitress, they took it away and we were given new plates. The atmosphere and staff are excellent, just like our favourite Relais where we always go in Paris, but it is a point of attention for the chef to make sure the food is definitely hot enough when it comes out of the kitchen!!
