Always great authentic Italian cuisine

We came across the restaurant by chance. The menu is exactly as I expect: small but the dishes are freshly and authentically prepared. The service was courteous, not intrusive and we felt well advised. Thanks to the kitchen and the service!

One can expext exeptional good and authentic Italian food which goes beyond the standard dishes of pizza and pasta. My friend and I had a business lunch there and we were served nicely. I took wild boar with tagliatelle and vegetables which was excellent.

Excellent Italian restaurant in the center of Zurich with fresh raw materials and a very nice environment. The menu is perfect, not too big but with a wide choice for all tastes. 9 of us ate and we were all happy. The menu offered various fish, truffle and meat specialties. I personally had the spaghetti with clams which were excellent with perfect al dente cooking, but I also tasted the pasta with truffles which was top! A special thank you to Quirino who was super helpful and attentive to our needs and was able to advise everyone on the ideal choice and also the wine pairing! I will definitely go back

The Toscano restaurant in Zurich's Niederdörfli offers an authentic Italian ambience on two floors. During my visit, I noticed a somewhat unusual reception: the restaurant was treated with mosquito spray around 6:30 p.m., which was initially irritating. In the evening there were some fruit flies in the restaurant, the origin of which was unclear. The menu presents a limited selection of dishes at moderate prices. The portions are rather small, but of high quality and typically Italian. The wine list impresses with a good selection. The end of the meal offered a special experience: the waiter served various desserts directly at the table without prior notice, a creative element of the service. The desserts, including tiramisu and panna cotta, were reasonably priced and high quality.

It's been around 15 years since I dined at Toscano, but it was once something like our favorite Italian restaurant. And after this evening we wonder how we were able to go without it for so long. Because the food is as delicate as ever, the service is almost family-like and the prices are absolutely reasonable. What is certain is that it won't be that long before the next visit.

One of the worst dining experiences at an Italian restaurant. The waiter did not come to take our drinks order for 45 mins after seating us. He was not apologetic about it either when he came finally. I also noticed he took orders from tables who were seated after us, so may be he was just a confused person. The food was good however in spite of the underwhelming start. I don't know if this is about cultural difference or the restaurant was just under staffed because he was the only person waiting on close to 9-10 tables that night. All this to say, not worth going to this restaurant and experience a good service.

It was just an average experience. The food was more or less. The staff was friendly but we had to call them several times for every order. The space is small. We paid 40.- per person for a supe, main plate and a icete.

I lived in the hostel across for 5 days. Ate here once, but saw the place daily. Good food, good service, good ambiance, clean and nice. Real italian in charge. Try it.

The family shared 3 pasta dishes and all 3 incredible. My kids are picky eaters sometimes and this place had them racing to finish so they could have more to eat! Incredible meal and definitely recommend it.

Always great here, nice service, delicious food, the standard has remained high for years. The only negative point is that there are no vegetarian/vegan dishes on the menu (take this into account, or at least write down that alternatives are possible). All the more pleasant to receive oral alternatives. Pomodori burrata and risotto verdure was very tasty.

In the heart of Zurich, a nice Italian restaurant with proper italian service. The tuna tartar and the branzino were fantastic. We were a bit let down by the bruschetta, which were really extra hard to chew on and the carbonara, a bit too liquid to hold on the (very thin) spaghetti.

We eat in this restaurant every now and then, even if at long intervals. The food is consistently good, but we almost always have the same thing: pasta filled with ricotta and spinach and sage butter. Once we had a fantastic zucchini flan as a starter. But the place is too narrow and too loud for us to stay longer.

Sweet original Italian restaurant in a side street in Zurich's old town. I had Pomodorini con burrata as a starter: wonderful! As a main course, Tagliolini al Tartufo nero: excellent! And for dessert, tiramisu: divine! It tasted delicious all around and was 100% worth the not-so-cheap price.

very average quality of food. We are big fan of Italian restaurants and from previous reviews we expected a delicious food here which was not the case at all. From our experience i can say if you know how a good pasta taste then do not expect to get one here but it will be eatable! Staff are quite friendly. Location is Ok. And no we will not recommend it to a friend and we will not go back to eat there again because value for money was low.

It’s so good I could cry. Literally one of my best find of Italian restaurant in Zurich. The people working here are very nice and seem passionate about the food that they serve. Big portion as well. I order the classic Spaghetti Vongole and a Tiramisu and both of them are definitely 5 stars. The place is rather small but cute. Would recommend for a date.

The four of us went to dinner yesterday and we weren't at all satisfied...cold plates, truffle noodles without sauce (under a heat lamp for too long), Moscardini alla diavola: oversalted...Paccheri alla Sorentino: lukewarm and mediocre...fish and meat were good....they replaced everything without any problems, but at the expense of comfort....it was too crowded and everything was very stressful....

Good, homey, Italian fare never fails to hit the spot, and Toscano delivers. Simple dishes done well. Decent portions with two guys that do their best to serve a packed restaurant. Photo doesn’t look like much but the boar parpadelle is well balanced. A little dry but the fresh pasta and flavourful meat sauce makes up for it. The grilled sea bass was nicely salted and deboned. Truffle pasta was a tad bland but not a dealbreaker. Typical Swiss pricing. Go for it!

Very nice decor, very nice service & buon tagliere d'antipasti. Spaghetti alle vongole was ordered by 2 of us and unfortunately both were extremely sandy. After this was reported, we were asked if we would like to order something else, but were told that we would always have to expect vongole alla sabbia, which is not true. If we had been offered something in return or not charged the full price, we would have come back - unfortunately the full price was charged. Drinks were very good (Aperol Spritz).

We had a delightful dinner here this evening with my wife and daughter. It’s a small quaint little spot down a side street here in Zürich. We started with bruschetta and the Insalata Toscano house salad, our entrees the Tagliate, Papperdelle, and Paccheri — all amazing. Fresh pasta, ingredients, and an authentic experience. We’ll be back on our next trip for sure!

Wow! What a fantastic experience! The food was delicious and beautiful. The service was prompt with great recommendations. The servers were friendly and helpful. One of the best carpaccios I've ever had with tender and super slim cut beef and parmesan which complimented the pappardelle and paccheri perfectly. I can't recommend this place enough!

Me & my boyfriend came here for food, the food was amazing but I got to say i wasn't pleased with the service… if you go for the food I 100% recommend other wise forget about it… we were so rushed. It was in and out in 45 min :/

In summer the large windows are opened and one line of tables outside the restaurant give you a true sense of Italianità. Last few times I was there, presentation was lacking slightly...this didn't change the great taste, though.
