I specially mentioned being vegetarian in the booking form (no meat, no fishes, no crustacean, etc.) I was proposed a starter with meat. I mentioned in person being vegetarian. What a great ambassador to the students chefs and waiters this restaurant is! The Geneva Hotel School houses this restaurant. We arrived with no reservations at 1:30 pm after a tour at the United Nations which is steps from the Vieux Bois. As many Swiss restaurants close at 1:30 or 2 pm, we were pleasantly surprised that they served lunch until 2:30 pm. Service was very kindly and efficient. One of my guests was from the UK and an English menu was available. The menu had few dishes but they were imaginative and of high quality. There were a few vegetarian dishes. Prices are reasonable for the quality. When we left they were setting up for what looked like a birthday or wedding reception, so you may be able to hire out this venue.

The vegetarian plates we were offered here were very impressive. We started with a starter made from different carrot slices that were presented in a circle and tasted delicious. The main course was some kind of a potato base complemented with fried tofu slices, which looked like potato toes but were not. Conveniently located next to the UN and opposite the Red Cross it is light and airy inside and has tables in the garden outside for warmer days (and is nice and warm indoors on colder days). At a lunch this week I had a colourful and interesting salad followed by fish which had been cooked in three different ways and was artistically presented. Everything was delicious, including an amuse-bouche, some pumpkin rolls and the lovely little petit-fours which came with the coffee. The waiting staff could not be more helpful and polite. I come here about once a month and it is always delightful.
