Airtime Cafe Bakery in Lauterbrunnen

Nice little cafe located on the main street passing through the town of Lauterbrunnen. We stopped by to get a coffee/hot chocolate and a bite to eat. Coffee was hot and good! They also had some food option (both hot and cold). We also tried the ham and cheese toast and croissant which were good. Note that they don’t warm the pastries (cakes or croissants, etc). Staff were friendly and helpful. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating is nice, have something while admiring the beauty of this amazing town in Switzerland! Totally worth it!

Very good coffee, delicious cakes, chill music. Very nice place. You can cash or card. I come back here again.

I visited this place to get a hot chocolate. I was served by what I can describe as a snarky, unhelpful employee. Upon a simple question about the difference in their hot chocolates, his answer was “the color”. It is the usual vibe of “I am doing you a favor here“ For the atmosphere, the place is scattered with signs on what you cannot do. I might agree with the sentiment, but the way it is done is distasteful.

The sourdough and baked goods are absolutely fantastic. The raspberry & rosemary blondies & brownies were our favorites. Fred and Annette provided wonderful kind service. Cannot recommend this spot enough, must stop in Lauterbrunnen!

Hard to recommend if you like a cozy atmosphere and appreciate a good coffee. Originally decorated and really cool place.

Cute little brunch/lunch spot, the ‘slow food’ sign pulled me in! Super friendly service, highly quality food and dessert! Much better than touristy cheese fondue with zero local feeling.

Very unusual atmosphere. We felt super comfortable. Service is super friendly and the food is the best croissants I've had in my life so far. Everything is homemade and fresh ingredients are also used. I still have the taste.

Lovely place, English speaking bartender / barista. Delicious Moccacino! The only issue was that they have only one toaster so piadinas did not come at the same time (we ordered two). PS cool wall in the toilet!

Hello, I have read the response you gave to my sister-in-law and I think it is regrettable that you are telling lies, the cutlery was left on the table and the papers were not on the floor, you admit that you were wrong. The only garbage that was in your premises I was inside the bar

The coffee was good but the waiter or owner was very rude, he told us to lower the volume of the cell phone because the bells of his town were ringing, it only took us a second, the worst thing about the trip to Switzerland, changing jobs is a shame

We were just at the coffee bar a moment ago. The coffee, chocolate and cake experience has been good. The pleasant waitress. It's a shame that we left with such a bad taste in our mouth because of the local waiter and it's a shame that because of the language we couldn't tell you about it to your face. The way you addressed us and asked us to lower the sound of the cell phone was very rude (which by the way was a video of your town's bells ringing and we were already lowering the unexpected volume at which it was ringing). You can ask for things politely and you can be rude, which has been the case in your case. We will surely return to this wonderful country, but not to visit the place where he works. I advise you to have training in customer service so that the experience is a 10.

The experience was great. The food is delicious, especially the brownie and carrot cake. The service is also great.

Visited for a morning coffee and a couple of sweets before my long walk in slopes of Lauterbrunnen. Very good coffee but most importantly the croissant is really otherworldy! Fresh and so originally flavoured. Owner makes them himself and they are made on the spot. Deserves a visit just for that! I returned after a few hours and had a tasty piadina with ham, melted cheese and tomatoes! The doppio espresso was strong as it should be, while owner was very friendly and accommodating. The place is small and can get very busy with the large number of tourists but deserves your patience. I will definitely return there again in a few weeks time!!

A quiet little cafe amidst the breath taking views of lauterbrunnen. Located not very far away from Staubbach waterfall! Pros: 1. One of the finest sandwich I have tried. 2. Their stock is very limited but really fresh 3. Amazing cakes and desserts 4. We were here around afternoon and they were open while almost all the other restaurants were closed. 5. One can enjoy the view of the scenic mountains from the big window fitted inside. Cons: 1. The bread of the sandwich, even though really tasty was a bit hard!

An excellent cafe in Grindelwald. Rustic and modern at the same time. Do not miss the brownies and the hot chocolate.

This cafe is hard to miss, it is right on the way to the Staubbach falls. The cafe itself has a very cool vibe, nice cozy seating outside, even if you are not hungry there you most likely will be attracted by the comfy decor of the cafe anyway it is always a good time for a brownie/ snack. The staff is very friendly, nice music is playing inside, there is plenty of seating both inside and outside. Decent place to chill out after visiting the waterfalls and before your cable car to Murren.

Randomly hopped into this one while walking on a rainy day in Lauterbrunnen. The brownies were too sweet, and the hot chocolate was ok. The ambiance is cool with super chill vibes. Would go there again and try something else.

Service was good...very energetic staffs. For credit card u need to pay extra 1chf and you can't twint here.. they accept both Euro and Swiss francs

Over rated I think. It is better to go to Lauterbrunnen. You will find a “K” shop near ticket office. Here you can buy Starbucks. Take it, and find a beautiful anywhere in town.

The food was amazing , so we went 2 days in a row to buy our favourite pastry and 🥪.

The coffee was really good. The croissants and pain au chocolat were a bit bready. The brownie was nice! The blondie had great structure, but had a taste I did not particularly like. However, my boyfriend did! So it's all about trying.

Stopped here for a few beers and some ice waters. The owners here were very welcoming and gladly gave us tap water and ice (at no charge!! Any visitor to Switzerland will really appreciate the fact that they didn't charge 7 francs for water) to accompany our beers. We ended up buying more from the shop just because they were so friendly. Definitely recommend stopping in here to experience it for yourself.

Not good value for money, Cinnamon bun very dry, I don't know if it's not usually the case, but really dry. The gentleman at reception is not very friendly, there are four tables to sit outside, that's good and the Americano is good. Two americanos + 2 cinamon bun = 16 francs

We tried their strawberry basil blondie and it was fantastic.

Really unexpectedly fun cafe. The folks behind the counter are very kind and quick. All the food tastes delicious and homemade. We tried the cafe creme, cappuccino, morning bun, croissant, scrambled eggs on focaccia, and a banana smoothie. The homemade Kombucha is fantastic too. My only regret is I don’t live here to be a regular.

A really nice cafe :) the owners are super nice and very lovely. Once you get there you immediately feel at home and enjoy your time :) I can really only recommend it!

Quick stop for a brownie and a coffee, great spot outside and incredibly friendly staff. Brownie was to die for.

Really nice ambience inside this Cafe. Friendly service. The chocolate croissant was amazing. The hot chocolate however tasted like it was from a packet, and was hard to drink without a mug.

Airtime Cafe is a must if you are in Lauterbrunnen! We came here everyday that we could while visiting. The best espresso we had our entire trip, and such amazing food! The owners were so kind and welcoming! We will always come back anytime we are back in Switzerland!

The BEST pain au chocolat and croissants I’ve had. We enjoyed this breakfast very much. Everything we had was excellent…smoothies, egg sandwich and hot chocolate.

Lovely place for a great breakfast! The hot chocolate and the cinnamon bun are just amazing. Also, try the ham&cheese toast with eggs on top. The service is extremely friendly and polite. Highly recommend if you’re in Lauterbrunnen. Skip your normal breakfast in the hotel and come over to check it out.

Great coffee, delicious food (including some vegan options) and they have some sweets options. And the staff is very friendly.

I will be dreaming of the baked goods here for years. The brownies are perfect, we tried a lemon cake that was so moist and had exactly the right amount of lemon flavor, and the banana bread was incredible, too. You have to stop here when you're in town. We'll be back!

Such a cozy cafe! Great selection of food, coffee and drinks. We stopped to get lunch and relax for a little - it was a great treat. The owner loves meeting and talking to tourists and locals.

Walking in to Airtime Café is like a hug for the soul. The smell of handmade fresh bakery combined with Fred's way of making you feel welcome and right at home is priceless. Every locals favourite coffeeplace.

Vegan homemade hot chocolate with mescal. Need I say more? I wish we could have sat down and enjoyed that place fully, instead of running to the train station. If we ever come back to Lauterbrunnen, this will be a required stop. And I will order the hot chocolate with the mescal shot on the side, to enjoy each even more.

Terrible customer service. I walked in and heard the staff member telling off two customers for parking in the wrong spot, this is understandable given it is a small town with not alot parking available but there is also a way to speak to people. I was next in line to be served and it seemed as if he continued to take his frustrations out on me by speaking and answering my questions in a patronising manner and agitated tone. It made me feel like I was the one inconveniencing him and the experience felt like a really unacceptable way of relating to a customer. In addition, I had gotten takeaway and later realised that I hadn't gotten the order I asked for. Kindness , patience and respect to strangers, let alone customers goes a long way, particularly if you work in a customer service role which requires interaction with the general public on a daily basis.

A great cozy place in lauterbrunnen to enjoy a cup of hot milk or coffee and also a nice bite of pastry… but the line was long and we had to wait for atleast 10 -15 mins to get our orders placed but the owner was extremely polite and wel mannered which made the experience great

We stopped in on a rainy day for a coffee break. Not sure if we just received some off drinks, but our coffees were not good. We ordered a pretty basic latte and cappuccino, but both tasted and looked watered down. We barely made it through a third of our drinks. The cafe itself is pretty cute and warm temperature wise. There are hot and cold food offerings as well as beer.

The cinnamon roll is awesome! A delicious coffee was served by a relaxed, very friendly gentleman. A great café, I was there twice in 4 days.

What has to be added as a credit to the Café, is the fact that they do not follow the usal doctrine more sweet, more tasty. We very much enjoyed two cakes and two chai lattes, and are thankful. Who wanted to made them more sweet, could use the separated sugar. The staff was very kind, the prices are very reasonable for the region. The view outside is nice, but you are next to a frequent road. Inside it gives more cozy impression. So we can recommend it fully for a stop :)

Great location, right in downtown, very easy to walk to. The staff (maybe owner) was very friendly and welcoming. Our pastries and coffee came out fast and delicious. It was a great spot to stop in for a quick breakfast.

Fred is a really great person! very friendly, accommodating and super competent! We talked for a long time about good oat milk from Switzerland, which you also use! We were customers there several times and as a “farewell” he gave us one of these Swiss organic oat milks without saying anything! It was just in the shopping bag! You can see that he is passionate about it! Really super friendly and great experience! Thank you Fred!

Comfy bite for your visit to see waterfalls.

We have been regular customers for years when we are in the corner: excellent cakes and pastries, great bread, EVERYTHING homemade by the owners. Most of the ingredients come from local farmers. Coffee was great too, plus freshly squeezed juices. And of course don't forget: Fred, the owner, is a sauna! 😀

Airtime cafe is for me a must whenever I'm in Lauterbrunnen. Great coffee, yummy meals (including some vegan options) and amazing sweets (especially the famous brownie, which sometimes is vegan too). Add to all that their own sourdough breads and you've landed in heaven 🤤
