We had dinner yesterday on August 6th, 2023, everything was great until we were suddenly presented with the bill, with a reason that we didn't understand, it was in Italian. We would have liked to order another espresso and Grapa. This was the second time that we were treated so strangely at al Pontile. I think that was our last visit there for the next while. Went there for breakfast at 10:00 in the morning with a guest from abroad. The waiter wasn't really motivated and was overslept, the cheese plate was embarrassing because old cheese had been trimmed, but the mold wasn't cut off cleanly. The location is perfection, very romantic right by the water. Beautiful atmosphere and table arrangements. Very expensive, pastas that are 35CHF is excessive. Tiramisu was lovely, they also have fresh juices. Service is average, staff were polite.

Sat at our table, waited over 45 minutes for anyone to come and talk to us. Made a drink order and meal order, then waited another hour to be served cold , drab food. Worst restaurant in Switzerland. The restaurant was not even full. no excuses, service sucked... and after we commented, they offered a desert after we paid and where leaving. I can be found in the Ticino at irregular regular intervals. I was in this restaurant for the first time ever at the beginning of the year. From the very beginning of my stay in this restaurant, I was welcomed and noticed as a guest. The ambience is TIP TOP!! It is very rustic and comfortably furnished. The atmosphere is 100 percent right!! The food was perfect with effectively ZERO differences!! The service was very attentive without being intrusive!! Dessert / Postres are very HOMEMADE!!! ¡¡IMMEDIATELY & AGAIN!!!!

Unfortunately, after saying goodbye to Fabio and his team, everything changed for the worse! Price/quality, selection but also the hospitality due to the lack of a real host, such a shame!! We still visit the restaurant every now and then, simply because we still have hope...

We were there for dinner on October 2nd, 2022. Without a reservation we got a table right by the lake. Our little daughter received crayons and a template to color in, exemplary service. That's how Servixe works. The food was very tasty. 👍

Unfortunately, the restaurant doesn't even deserve this one star. From start to finish, zero star rating. Already when making the reservation on the phone, very unfriendly and brisk. But we still wanted to try. We made a reservation outside, but it started to rain so we had to sit inside. Because we made a special reservation, we were given a table in the farthest corner where it was so humid and warm, which also had lots of small dead fruit flies on it. We thought we would give it a try there too. For the starter we were given a lump of tartare, not nice to look at and tasteless. One main course came wrong at first, then only warmed up orecchiette with "fresh truffle" (nothing about it was fresh) and "beef fillet cubes" (very small, somewhat tough pieces of beef). The "hidden pork fillet" was neither hidden nor a real fillet (see picture). The only thing hidden was the meat in the fat. We barely touched the pork tenderloin because you really couldn't eat it. When asked why we didn't eat it, we said because it was hard to bite. There was no apology nor did they offer us a price. When paying, the only thing the waiter said was, "sorry, it wasn't like that today". Well, it's a shame about that experience. Went to a restaurant nearby a few days later and it was wonderful!

(23.7.22 gg, 1745 p.m.): You sit outside directly on the shore, but ships with diesel engines dock and depart here. Selection ok. Food was okay, but very little for the money. Nice ambience, especially flawless napkin, tablecloth and bread basket napkin - all made from real fabric. I found the waiting time for the food delivery of 20 minutes to be a bit long - - it's just a cold soup. The seats weren't even half full. Ok, maybe understaffed. 3 scampis could be found in the Gazpacho 🤨 There were also 3 small ones. Rolls served. Light beer in a wheat beer glass 🤔 Professionals don't do that. But I don't care. No WiFi on the free bar area. Table linen is changed every time guests change. Card payment possible. Service spoke German.

I spent a wonderful evening at Al Pontile. The waiters are very friendly and attentive and the service is quick. The food is delicious. I'm thrilled, I'd love to come back.

Today the four of us wanted to have breakfast in the compartment right by the lake. What was negative right from the start was that the waitress told us that there was no menu with breakfast dishes. She then told us what was available. We weren't offered anything meatless at first. Since the service wasn't particularly friendly and everything wasn't right for us, we got up despite the fact that 2 out of 4 hadn't ordered anything anyway (2 seconds after placing our order) and canceled our order. This was then rejected by the waitress, saying it was not possible. Suddenly a meatless alternative was possible. But we got up and left, which was a good decision. A few meters further to the left (black and white striped roller blinds) there is an excellent breakfast in a great ambience and dark background and plenty of veggie alternatives. It's incomprehensible to us how you can't make proper use of such a great pole position. ->Print breakfast menu ->hire motivated, hard-working employees ->Offer vegetarian alternatives or at least be flexible enough to leave out the meat in the scrambled eggs or on the platter (that wasn't possible at first). By the way, communication was in Italian, so there was no language barrier. ;)

Discovered during our 2nd time in Ascona. Classic menu, home made delicious food and excellent service. Everything was great. We have been seeved by Severio who was fantastic. If you are after a great evening with delicious food - it is your place ( avoid usual tourist traps nearby).

We have always had a good time here and the food is always well cooked. even with the new management the Pontile has maintained its high standard both for the excellent cuisine and the very professional service. The bald waiter is overwhelmed; there are hardly any tables on the terrace occupied. Complained when you asked if you could place an order after 10 minutes at the table. And of course he cuts after you. Then they left and didn't want any guests.

Extremely incompetent service, wrong beer, wrong menu, no apology or compensation, long waiting times, table not as reserved,... food far too expensive even if it was ok. Why the white tablecloths if the experience was cheap? Ascona at its worst. A pity.

Relatively good value for money for Ascona! Everything tasted very good. However, be careful when ordering wine, we ordered a 49 franc wine and got a 72 franc wine, and when we drank it when the wine list was gone, we only noticed the difference on the bill 😬

However, the service wasn't always attentive; for example, people forgot to ask for wine with their meal and we didn't have the opportunity to order because it was busy. The big deduction, however, concerns the price-performance ratio. The daily offer of fish was extremely overpriced. It cost 45 francs, had a small piece of fish, about 2 sliced ​​potatoes and a few vegetables on the plate. The taste was great, but it was the size of an appetizer. What a shame! The risotto with bacon for 25.- was good, Vitello Tonnato very small for 25.-. As I said: food was great, if you don't look at the price, definitely recommended.
