AVOS - Plantbased Sushi in Zürich

The food wasn't particularly good and very expensive for what you got. We ordered a nut salad with bacon and egg. The bacon was undercooked, still quite fatty and not at all crispy. It was served with a thick Italian sauce that was reminiscent of a salad dressing from the cafeteria when I was a student. It didn't go well with the salad. The Zurich Geschnetzelte with Rösti that I had as a main course was no better. The potatoes in the hash browns were undercooked and hard. The sauce tasted like very little other than cream, and I had to add some salt and pepper myself. The meat was rather overcooked and no longer tender. The space was nice, just a shame about the food. Overall it shouldn't have cost more than half as much (52.- for a Zurich Geschnetzeltes that wasn't good!) for the quality you got.

From the food, ambience to the service, everything is great. Good drink selection. As a guest you feel in great hands!

A great new discovery. Beautiful restaurant ... Old wood combined with subtle green, light upstairs in the "Stube" and in the same tone in 2 further steps up to the toilets in the cellar to a slightly darker green, which is also reflected in the colour of the menu card. The same style is also used in the kitchen. Beautifully designed plates without gimmickry but still with a potpourri of flavours and cleverly chosen ingredients. The capuns are marvellous. The duck is a little tough, but that's the only blip in the cosy evening. The service is super pleasant. The menu is small but every dream can be fulfilled with this great selection. The wine list is just as small but wonderful. I'll certainly be back.

Junk food heaven. We don't normally eat this much sweets but this was a worthwhile stop on our trip. And it should be a stop on your trip through Switzerland too.
