Bäcker Känzig AG in Kilchberg (ZH)

Stopped for lunch after visiting Lindt. The city chicken salad was delicious.

The bread and pastries are good, but the service leaves something to be desired. Unfriendly service early in the morning who packs you the wrong thing even though you are the only customer in the store.

Food/Take-Away Menu is very poorly done. I didn't like it at all. 11.- for a risotto that was like mud. The blonde-haired lady is always incredibly unfriendly and looks bored. Place was dirty. Absolutely no recommendation!

The best tarts and rolls as well as bread and croissants💜. I always drive from Horgen on Sundays to get the good bread. Quality is also top class🌻. But because it's so good, there's often a line of people out the door, but it goes by quickly and is worth it. Keep it up👍

Great place, the staff can seem a bit stressed sometimes also the prices are a bit high.

Attention... here you will be sold croissants from the day before. Today I was there for the first and last time. The price of CHF 2 per croissant is outrageous. The quality was very poor. You don't sell old croissants without putting the customer in the picture. Interesting... Normally the baker you trust responds to the posts... but apparently he's at a loss for words here.

The "Zopf" is great on the weekends. Also visit the coffee/restaurant. The chocolate is very delicious.

Cafe very good but it was probably forgotten so I had to ask.. there were only 2 guests there..

Highly recommended bakery. I was served very friendly and asked again and again if I needed or wanted anything else. The croissants and the plait taste excellent. Very generously served and the price/performance ratio is right. I would love to eat breakfast there again.👍👍👍

The staff were so friendly and kind. The shop has a nice cosy ambience.

Nut stick was no longer fresh, probably from the day before, a shame. Dough was too mushy. The quality should be right for the price, otherwise you can just go to the co-op next door.

The delicacies and products are good, but the staff in Kafi is very rude. We experienced poor/aggressive service several times. The employees at the bakery are professional and nice, but always look stressed. I hope that the working conditions are generally good.

Friendly service but the nut bar tasted like it had been made the day before, dry and sloppy dough. The price is far too high for that. Once and not again.

Unfortunately, once again no fresh baked goods were sold; not capable of criticism, was dismissed in the bakery with the words "I don't really want to argue with you." Prices too high for this quality! My email to the owner was not answered!

Very, very nice service. Easy to reach by train (located directly at Kilchberg train station) or car. Parking spaces are available directly in front of the bakery. There is coffee, bread, rolls and other delicacies. My favorite is the tomato and olive bread. You should currently allow for around 15-20 minutes more, as the number of customers in the store is limited to 2. En goodie!

Bread quality top Unfortunately, the croissants were a flop! (too dry, since we usually come to the Beckerei around 10:00, we expect better quality from the Beck instead of the Voi/Coop next door.

I actually like Känzig, but I think it's a shame that you import the chicken meat from Denmark (!). Better regional and a little more expensive.

The first time I visited the Beck was the croissant from the day before. I gave the Beck a second change and have to say that I am happy with this decision. The croissants tasted excellent and the Berliner wasn't dry or rubbery. It tasted delicious. Anytime from now on :)

Delicious, the service is superb

I've been coming to these two places for years. As always, everything in the bakery is delicious and the displays are well stocked. From the patisserie to the nut croissants to the strawberry tart, the quality is right. The breads are excellent. I can only recommend! I am extremely disappointed with the attached coffee/restaurant and will stay away from it in the future. The service would rather chat with the girlfriend than serve the guests. These have to wait until the young lady has time at some point. I experienced this for the umpteenth time. It's over from today. Now, take my money to another place.

I don't know if they have a new baker, but the quality of their products has improved dramatically during the last few years.

Good, traditional bakery. Lots of choice, no “air” in the wake. Not right next door for us, but we like to get something there if we want it to be good.

After various bakeries opened in the neighboring villages around Kilchberg, fortunately the Känzig bakery has held up well. The actual sales stall is designed to be very eye-catching thanks to the bright yet pleasant lighting. Due to the limited space available in the actual store, the coffee shop next to it is really spacious and also has a beautiful view over Lake Zurich. The selection in the store definitely leaves nothing to be desired and anyone who would like to eat something warm can enjoy it in peace and quiet over lunch with a nice selection of menus. There are usually enough parking spaces directly in front of the door and the whole thing is also very easy to reach by bus or on foot, as the whole thing is located in the actual sales center of Kilchberg. Since the bakery opens very early, the sales and opening times are very convenient and anyone who would like to purchase these high-quality goods away from home can do so on Tuesdays and Fridays at the market on Bürkliplatz and otherwise even on Saturdays the market in Oerlikon. Hats off to such actions!

Incredibly friendly staff!!!! Since we moved to Kilchberg two years ago, we have been shopping at this bakery several times a week. Whenever our little daughter is there, we even give her half a walk for free. The quality of the bread is excellent. I can only recommend!

I love this small Kilchberg bakery. I would go almost every day. Simple but delicious. And they have beer and pretzels ummm. A nice 4pm treat.

The best bread far and wide and in great variety! Even in the evening, the shelves and the display are still well stocked. Plus sales staff who are always friendly and attentive. For me, it's the place to buy bread in the region!

The ready-made pizzas here are very tasty. When I wanted to take a piece with me again, I was shocked at the anti-foreigner comments one of the employees made. She insulted me and said that we southerners are all misogynists. Even though she had absolutely no reason to. I remained polite but was really hurt by your statement.... That's why I took the time to write this. If the bakery wants to talk to me about it, I'm open.

Very good bread, the best around.

A REAL bakery with a large selection of bread, including special varieties such as "Prügeli" (elongated, strongly leavened) or "Uriges" (sourdough) or with non-wheat flours. Also a pastry shop with the legendary, world's best strawberry tarts (which are only available until they are all gone). Next door there is a café where you can enjoy the patisserie with coffee.

Was here twice for a snack, you don't really feel comfortable here, the staff isn't very friendly either, you're ignored and the prices, regardless of whether the food tastes good, are not justified.
