Bar Lupo in Zürich

We enjoyed an early dinner on the bar, starting with focaccia (splendid) and stracciatella (a bit too salty, the chefs might consider changing the recipe a bit) and roasted carrots , and then going to pasta (arrabiata - 4/5 and a variation of bolognaise- 5/5) Tiramisu was very delicious. Generally recommend if you want a cozy place with small Italian menu. The music is a bit too loud since it is a bar so this take into account.

The place is quite uncomfortable and has bad acoustics - it's too loud. After the visit, clothes smell like what was cooked. You should urgently check the ventilation in the kitchen.

Cocktails are okay, but absolutely excessive for the prices. Uncomfortable place, food is good

Great restaurant! We tried almost everything and it didn’t disappoint. The concept is really relaxed with a nice selection of natural wines. Definitely one of the most vibrant places around too!! Don’t forget to try the bolognese and a tiramisu in the end. Definitely worth a visit.

We (2) wanted to sit at a table. Then the waitress came and said we should go over to the bar stools, this table was intended for at least 3 people. It would be better to ask whether it would be a problem if two more people sat down later. We actually wanted to stay for dinner, but it was too uncomfortable for us. Overall, the room is relatively cold and not particularly nicely decorated. The service could be friendlier.

The food was very tasty, but... Service very unprofessional… No bread was offered with the beef tartare and it was not indicated that there was none, which would be expected at a price of 24 CHF. The service was also quite short and unfriendly and at the end we were given the wrong bill and we weren't even given a proper farewell. All in all not worth the hype.

Food is good but limited choices and overpriced. Service could be improved in term of speed and kindness. Nice cocktails selection

cacio and pepe was excellent. the ragu alla bolognese was outstanding. wine recommendation was very good. will be back!

Expensive, but everything from the food to the service to the drinks were simply perfect. our main server was Jason(?). We loved every bite and the atmosphere was also lovely. This is the perfect night for a date or a relaxed evening with friends.

And the second bar by Claudio Sacchi is also a successful oasis of well-being with many great drinks and an adapted Negroni version. There is also a lot of feel-good food (and snacks) here. And yes... the Tagliatelle al Ragù are a poem. Claudio is a great host and you almost feel at home here. We are looking forward to warmer days to enjoy the terrace in the courtyard.

Simple yet elegant, cozy cocktail bar with insanely delicious food, technical, perfectly balanced cocktails. The tiramisu is to die for!

The service is the last thing here

I personally thought the food was great. My ragu is the much better but the service was horrible. Dishes were small and rather expensive.

Good location but 20Chf for a non-carbonated gin and tonic is rather too much.

I had high expectations that were not met. Starter “Leek” for about 17.- was very bad (taste, plate cold, presentation) There were 5 of us and no one liked it. Gnocci: Basically ok. BUT the menu was served with goat cheese. (This should be on the menu as the taste was extremely overpowering and ruined the dish. 3 portions could not be enjoyed. Ragu: Fine but the price (29.-) is not justified. I found a hair in the food that spoiled my appetite. Here too, plates were not preheated. I expect a certain standard for the price range. Unfortunately we won't be coming anymore

This bar is an absolute highlight. There is seating inside and outside. If you are in smaller groups, you sit very close to the other guests (you share the table with them). The menu is very small but the dishes are seasonal and delicious. The service was very nice and warm. Unfortunately, the drinks consist of more ice than content and are therefore a little overpriced (but tasty). Unfortunately there is no caffeine-free (decaf) coffee.

The furnishings are quite simple and a little cold, which is probably part of the concept. Covered terrace cannot be used in heavy rain. I had a Lupo Negroni, I didn't like it that much and it was a bit heavy-handed for 17.-. Wine selection very special, organic wines, couldn't find the right one. The service almost only speaks English. But the food was great, especially the tiramisu.

We had a small starter (stracciatelle cheese with fresh focaccia bread and croquettes. The food and wine were really very good. I would go there again at any time. They have a small courtyard, which you wouldn't think, very charming and sweet. The atmosphere was great and the service staff was TOP!

The garden of the Lupo Bar in Zurich is simply enchanting. With an idyllic atmosphere, it invites you to enjoy the outdoor ambience. The friendly staff ensure you don't miss anything and the service is excellent. Lupo Bar's garden is the ideal place to spend a pleasant time and enjoy the delicious food.

We went to Lupo for dinner again last week and the overall experience was rather sobering. The restaurant's food was lacking (e.g. the focaccia is really a dry affair with little taste), but what we noticed most of all was the not very friendly service/reception staff. Our order took a while to arrive, even after we asked (explanation: the kitchen didn't make the vegan dish vegan, so it took longer), then the first and main courses came together, and finally one of the main courses was missing (explanation: we apparently had ordered like this). Can happen. But: no excuse for the long wait, no excuse for missing food, no dessert on the house. The cappelletti arrived relatively quickly, but unfortunately they weren't fully cooked. All in all you don't really feel welcome, it's a shame. Unfortunately, the Bernese chef, who was only with us for a short time, was friendly and warm - the staff could learn from him.

I can only say, great. I recommend it.

I came last September and it was great. They still have a good service but the food wasn’t great like my first time. Arancini no taste and the focaccia was re-heated and dry like a biscotte. But nice garden. Too bad it is not the same anymore but cool waiter from Venetia

The food is excellent and the outdoor terrace invites you to linger. The portions could be a little larger. Nevertheless, I can warmly recommend Bar Lupo.

Cozy atmosphere, great service and the right amount of choices. I personally dislike restaurants offering menus resembling an encyclopedia. Lupo ain’t one of them.

Probably my favourite restaurant for a evening out in Zurich. Food is very fresh and tasty, they only have 3 main dishes on the menu, a couple starters and 1 dessert (massive tiramisu). Cocktails are nice, and the natural wine list is extensive with good references Service is also very friendly Be careful about prices as they are not Italian but Zurich standards. Also the front room is very noisy, don’t go there for a chill night

Steamed local restaurant! A local friend took me and bought it for me. It's really delicious..👍 There are also people who just drink at the bar. Some people only eat food, and there are many! There is a waiting line around 8pm! Everything was delicious, but the sauce under that burrata cheese was amazing. It’s fantastic to eat with bread❤️ Also on the special menu is espresso martini🍸 There is tiramisu, this combination is crazy, really. Espresso Martini...an interesting combination with a slight coffee flavor. That tiramisu is better than the one I had in Italy😋❤️ It was a very local restaurant, so I was the only Asian. The waiter spoke good English and was friendly! (Maybe it was because he was a local) However, please note that the space is small 😉

Still a popular bar if you want to see and be seen. (Thursday evening.) A bit of an eccentric wine list that I wasn't really in the mood for — orange wine, lots of cloudy organic wines, etc. Still: very good wine advice. This is also reflected in the price per glass. Overall interesting. Seems to be popular for dating, although the music is actually way too loud for conversation. (Maybe because you have to sit really close together at small tables.) Open show kitchen, I didn't eat, but plates looked really tempting.

Second time here - everything was good except for the volume. The loud music finished us off. We still wanted to eat but after two hours of screaming we changed the restaurant at 8 p.m. A pity. Otherwise great location, very nice staff. Good drinks.

Top wines, many or all natural wines, one star for this. Scene level high, one star for this, internationality high, one star for this. Prices no star, no wine under CHF 10.00 / DL,... It's a shame, factor 3 used to be high. Lupo probably means very high. Staff no star.

A bit rude, crowded and overpriced

Where do we start… very unprofessional service, couldn't recommend any wine. When we cleared it up, we didn't ask whether it was tasty or whether we would like something else. Sat in the back area, which isn't closed properly and therefore always had cold wind blowing in. Only had a fork, no knife or spoon. We waited a long time for the food and it wasn't particularly good. A pity. Drinks were easy, hence one star. Atmosphere nice too. So it's a shame.

Very unsympathetic service and only spoke English, does that really have to be the case? (there is no feel-good factor). We didn't even ask if the food was good even though we had consumed a bottle of wine and ordered two main courses? Tagliatelle al Ragou was excellent, but Carne Cruda had too many hazelnuts and was too coarse, less would have been more. Wine selection was good, but not very interesting for my long experience in the wine sector, conclusion; I will not visit the Lupo Bar again, but there are enough alternatives in Zurich.

Good food but X, I went on a Sunday but the atmosphere wasn't the best either. Friendly and careful service, but that should always be the case and in every place...

Unfortunately there is no welcoming culture at all. Was the first and last time!

The drinks were great, but the food surprisingly just fine. The bar was totally booked out and since the placement of the tables in the bar was a bit tight and people began to stand all over the place, we felt cramped and wanted to leave sooner than expected.

Poor especially expensive, they don't even give you a small snack with a good bottle of wine which we drank, dirty and small tables and there was a smell of tobacco smoke. It's not a nice environment!!!!

Delicious starters and cocktails, but cocktails too expensive. The pasta is very good but unfortunately overcooked. We hope to return soon

Outstanding cocktails, very lively bar with fast kind service. You can't make a reservation but we got a table relatively fast. The food was also great but very expensive. I was impressed by the smoky Senior Negroni .

A slightly different take on a trendy bar in Zürich: less Porsche, more Velo, less suits, more sneakers. The bar staff is very knowledgeable, the menue is limited, but the tagliatelle al ragu definitely worth a detour (how the Guide Michelin would describe it).

Service (Rahel) truly outstanding, unique and personal with fine recommendations. Food as well very creative and well balanced, congrats to the food designer and the chefs. Negroni on tab is a bit strange for a cocktail bar but due to the high frequency I guess. Heated outside area too much plastic for my taste and light is terrible. Besides that it’s definitely a place worth (re-) visiting. Will come again.

If you can sit outside, the bar is absolutely amazing! Great food, great drinks and the wines are great too! Unfortunately, I'm not really a fan of the yellow look inside, so I usually avoid the bar on rainy days.

Insanely delicious pasta that you can get served at night: a rarity in Zurich. Very attentive and entertaining waiters. Everyone also gets their money's worth when it comes to drinks, including interesting own creations.

Very tasty dishes. The ragout was particularly great. The beer came in Riedel glasses, which took some getting used to but was fun.

Nice spot for chilled drinks and bites. They have an extensive wine list with a focus on natural wines. Their food menu is short but well executed. Antipasti we’re decent, their pasta menu rotates regularly. The ragù on my visit was a bit on the watery side. Service was haphazard but the restaurant was full. Wasn’t amazed, but would go back.

An Action Burger collab would be good, but that would go beyond everything. 😂 Lupo is great in itself. The focaccia was once a bit too crispy, once very airy (meant in a positive way)..

Good bar/bistro. Creative, own drinks (not highlights for us, but it's clearly a matter of taste). Antipasti very good, pasta al ragu tasty but not outstanding (cheese on it from the start?). Big surprise: Great service, we were very positively surprised! Cozy outside atmosphere, much too yellow inside. Price/performance okay thanks to the good service.

Absolute top address with a great selection of winemaker champagnes and wines, perfectly matched dishes, absolutely fair prices and a very friendly team. We'll be back soon.

This bar has a unique style and the staff’s outfits are well thought through. The staff are friendly and help make your experience feel personal. The cocktails are tasty and classy. I’ll be going back for sure.

Very nice service and an exciting wine list, but the bar is often seen as a place to eat and there are many better ones in the same price segment. Pasta al ragu: An okay Barilla Bolognese is not much different Tiramisu was a disappointment. Starters were quite good

We met up with friends to eat there last week. Since it's not possible to make a reservation by phone, we made the appointment there. At first there were only 2 of us because the others were late and then we took a table for 6 people. Had to wait longer until we could order. Unfortunately our friends were late and after about 15 minutes the owner came and said that if you don't come straight away we have to give up the table (I've never heard that I'm sitting at a table and someone is late and then you have to take it). table has to be handed over). When our friends came, I said it would be nice, even though they were so stressed, to at least serve us. The owner then said that if I didn't like it, I could leave (never experienced that either). We then had to wait around 1 hour and 15 minutes for our pasta plates (but they wanted to take the table away from us). The pasta is served directly with a strange cheese mixture, which is not very practical if you are lactose intolerant and was not noted on the menu. A dish was delivered incorrectly and we had to wait again. We also had a bottle of red wine, which unfortunately wasn't any better than the food. But there too, no insight from the owner. At the end he offered us a round of schnapps (we also had to wait another 30 minutes for these and the coffee). That was very nice, but unfortunately it didn't save the whole thing. The price/performance ratio doesn't fit at all, the service sometimes doesn't speak German, you wait forever and you're not treated really nicely. At the end of the evening, 2 people out of 6 spent the night next to the toilet. All in all, the evening was a total failure. The restaurant was recommended to us by friends because of the ragout. That's definitely good, but otherwise there are definitely better addresses.

Mmmmmmh, fine cocktails, very good wines (we had the Riesling and Morgon, which went excellently with the Tagliatelle all Ragù). We were able to sit outside in the beautiful weather, although not in the 'garden'. Service was super friendly and great advice on the wine. Small but nice card. Very international and very friendly staff, we clicked with everyone. The chef impressed us not only with his personality and friendliness but also with his skills. Service top notch for us. We felt very comfortable. We loved the arancini, the burrata with pesto rosso and the foccacia, all homemade of course - yummy. For the main course we had Tagliatelle all Ragù - superb!!! And bigoli (very thick 'spaghetti') all arrabiata. For dessert there was of course a tiramisu, again very yummy. Everything is very simple with a focus on the content. Conclusion, we felt very comfortable and would like to come back.

Oh well…. Because of all the YELLOW I could hardly see anything, unfortunately the absolutely unfriendly waitress did…. She only spoke English, had no idea about wine and forced the three of us to sit at a table that barely had room for one person. The starter was completely forgotten, we refilled ourselves. The best thing was the pasta with Bolognese - that's why we got 2 stars. Otherwise aloof and unprofessionally!!! Sorry guys!

We visited the bar because it was recommended to us. The food is very good, but the prices are on the higher side for the portions. Drinks were also very good. It is perhaps important to note that there is a no laptop policy, we actually wanted to book a holiday together and so we decided to leave the bar after a drink and dinner. In general, I respect "rules", but I think that you can clearly make a difference whether someone is working or whether this is just part of a normal meeting between friends.

For our aperitif, my wife and I went to this bar. We were warmly welcomed and felt at home from the first moment. An uncomplicated and very pleasant atmosphere contributed to this. Unfortunately, we already made a reservation in a restaurant, because the menu with the homemade pasta and the other dishes simply invite you to linger. A clear recommendation from us!

Good food with a pleasant atmosphere outside in the garden. Friendly service. The menu is m.M. a little too small. 2-3 more main courses would give the whole thing a little more variety. Unfortunately, the drinks menu actually only consists of water and cola. Here 2-3 more “special” ice teas or shorles would be a good addition for those who don’t like cocktails or want mocktails with your meal. But cool place and will come back!

Waited almost 2 hours for food. 1 hour outside and 1 hour on site. Seems to me like the price is a little much for pasta. But we took advantage of the waiting time and were too drunk by the time the food arrived to be able to give a review. Think was good.
