Mediocre food in the price range. More likely a touristic restaurant with no intention for a returning customer. Seafood pasta was full of empty small shells, bland and tasteless.

Is my absolute favorite restaurant in the city of Lucerne. I love the Taglioni al Pesto, which are nowhere as good as in Barbatti. It's always worth a visit. The service and the boss are super welcoming.

It's a shame we wanted to choose the Ornellaia 2015 325.00 on the menu for our birthday dinner. Unfortunately no longer in the basement. The waiter, unfortunately not knowledgeable about wine, recommended a Primitivo as an alternative...well...we would have liked an alternative in the same segment. The boss was asked who didn't visit our table! 2nd choice Tignanello on the map is also no longer available. Please update your wine list and we would be happy if we as guests receive better advice if we enjoy ordering good and expensive wine. Kind regards C. Rohr

Everything was good at this restaurant but I don't think this restaurant is as delicious as it is expensive.

Very great food in the Italian area, nice restaurant and perfect service

Vegetarian food was poorly prepared. Apparently none of the crew are vegetarian. It was dry and poorly seasoned.

Loved the food, fast and friendly service, and a pleasant ambience. Not to miss the interiors of art sculptures around. If you enjoy Italian food, it's the place to visit.

Nice place, manager always attentive, friendly and makes you feel all the warmth. Italian staff but they speak German very well, always kind and with a smile on their faces, very good food as well as the choice of wines. The food was specifically Italian, excellent, fine, delicious right up to the dessert. Service was very Italian, constant, correct, but could be sweeter for me. The ambience, yes I'm rather tall and need a lot of space, was a bit cramped for two places, to each their own. Nevertheless, I would like to go again, the food is special, high quality Italian and simply top notch.

The Barbatti is really great. The food is always delicious, fresh and authentic. The portions are generous and at lunchtime they have great, inexpensive lunch menus. The service is friendly, attentive and quick, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting.

Our visit to Lucerne was crowned with dinner at Barbatti. Italian food restaurant, with a very well decorated atmosphere and well located on a street in the old and commercial district. My spaghetti al mare was divine, as was the salmon risotto that was my husband’s choice! And we couldn't help but try the Tiramisu, for our ranking... Very good ! Just one detail, as it is located in an old building the acoustics are not good, and a large and noisy group compromised the experience a little. But, we recommend it!

Great restaurant! The salmon risotto and the lamb are highly recommended. The food is a bit more expensive, but it's definitely worth it. The staff was friendly and accommodating. One of the best Italian restaurant in town. I'd love to come back.

That was probably the worst Aperol special sour I've ever had. A whiskey glass filled to the brim with ice and a hint of content. The whole thing for Fr. 14.-. The staff took note. Just cheeky! Otherwise, I think you could have a good meal here.

Best Italian food in all over Switzerland 😍 We had dinner there two nights in row 😍 The food is amazing! The saffron risotto and the pomodoro pasta are highly recommended 👍🏻

Very cosy italian restaurant with great service. The outdoor seating is comfortable with a good view to the street and also has coverage in case it rains. The main dish and the dessert were tasty. I went for the pasta with gambas and a nice chocolate souffle. Only remark was that the side dish with vegetables is not worth ordering. For 9 francs you get a “sad” steamed vegetable dish, which is not worth it.

A really nice place in the historic center of Lucerne, a great meal and very good service, I don't remember the waiter's name but he was really very kind and capable.

Delicious and varied food selection, extremely friendly service. The facility creates an atmospheric atmosphere and is easily accessible by public transport and private vehicle. In terms of price, it's in the higher segment.

Very top quality products even olive oil and balsamic vinegar on the table. Service was a bit slow but we were not in rush. Risotto with fish and antipasti misto can just recommend to order again and again. Washroom is super clean and proper. Would love to visit the place for dinner one day.

There is a wonderful atmosphere, especially in the restaurant. The service and the food are really exceptionally good. Which of course has its price.

As people of color, we felt neglected. I don’t know if it was the server or the general ethos of the restaurant. E.g. we were served no complementary bread while others around us got it. When asked they said you want it?? Similarly the servers were lighting candles on all tables but no one bothered to do on our table. Restaurants of this colonial mindset must be stayed away from. Not kid friendly either

Beautiful authentic Italian food with great service. Lunchtime sitting outside on a warm day with great food and wine does not get much better than this.

Appetizers were great and the Prosecco was delicious. The main courses were disappointing. The saffron risotto was bland and so was my wife’s pasta dish with cremini mushrooms. Not bad just bland.

We found this restaurant because it was recommended by our Hotel des Balances and Google reviews. We ordered a pasta and Rib eye steak. The rib eye steak was inedible, too hard to cut, too chew, and lacking flavor. The pasta was al dente, had nice mushroom flavor. The other issue was that a customer next to our table was a chain smoker throughout our meal. If you want outdoor seating, you should sit at the table further away from the Lake because the wind direction at night blows toward the lake, just in case a heavy smoker happens to be your neighbor. What made up for the evening was the staff sincerity and genuine desire to make every customer experience to be positive and happy. My server was Emmanuele and his direct supervisor, (I didn‘t get his name) were beyond the scope of their duty. But don’t order the meat unless they can guarantee the tenderness of the meat to be edible. I wish I had a better experience and I usually don’t write reviews but I wanted to write this one not because of too tender meat but because of their staff, not to discredit the restaurant but to compliment the staff they keep.

The food was not served warm and there was a small piece of aluminum foil in the meat. Comment on my complaint..."sorry" that was all!

It's so delicious! The price is high because it is the whole of Switzerland, but it is the most delicious thing I have eaten in Switzerland! Although the portion is a little small, I am very satisfied! The staff are also very friendly🥰

Risotto with salmon: this menu cost over Fr. 30 and consisted of a plate of tomato risotto with some pieces of salmon; Absolutely inedible and unsustainable for a 13 Gaut-millau restaurant!

The veal with tuna sauce is as good as my grandmother made it. Recommended.

We just wanted something to drink around 4 p.m. The restaurant was virtually empty, but we were arrogantly turned away because it was only possible to eat. At most outside. Rain and cold, we wanted to eat something later anyway but not like that.

I visited in 2019 and left a review saying that I would definitely come back when I come to Switzerland again. For the first time in 4 years, my older sister, who was with me at the time, and this time even my mom had a wonderful meal. Still, all the staff were friendly, and the menu I ordered again as well as the menu I tried for the first time were excellent. In particular, I would like to thank the friendly and humorous staff once again for giving me advice on how to enjoy the risotto. I still look forward to meeting you there someday when I visit Switzerland.

It was such a nice experience! pasta with truffle, steak, risotto We didn't have much time for lunch as we were on package tour. So food was recommended. The staff were all friendly, especially Phillip. a bit expensive but worth it.🥰🥰Thank you for all. I wanna stay longer next time. See you again some day🙌 If you have more than 2 hours to spare, I recommend stopping by and having a meal in a cozy atmosphere. I think it would be good to try it because it is recommended as it is not too expensive. Among the things we ate, the cream pasta topped with truffle was really delicious. We went for lunch at Easter. The restaurant offers a very nice atmosphere. The service was very friendly, attentive and very professional. From the starter to the dessert, everything was excellent! It wasn't exactly cheap, but it was more than worth every franc. Thank you. We'll definitely be back!

In addition to a starter, I ordered the beef fillet for Fr.57.- Presentation in an old egg pan with an oil sauce with green leaves without any taste, unsalted and instead of medium it was signal, no decoration like in all the other 3 menus I ordered. Risotto fresh from the water without cheese or taste. After a good bottle of red wine, one person ordered 1 single glass of wine, which was poured directly into the old glass. Unfortunately, the four of us had to say that dinner was full of disappointment.

Top address! Although it's in the higher price segment, it's extremely worth it! The service is very friendly and pleasantly uncomplicated! The kitchen is convincing across the board! I had a misto di pece alla griglia (see photo) which consists of tuna, sea bass, salmon and giant prawns from the grill, lemon risotto and seasonal vegetables. That was probably the best fish platter I've ever had in Switzerland! At CHF 51.- it's not exactly cheap, but it tastes TOP! And every now and then you can treat yourself to something ☺️ I look forward to visiting Ristorante Barbatti again soon and can recommend the restaurant to everyone!

4 stars for ambience but 3 stars for food. Risotto hardly had taste, grilled sole didn’t taste fresh. Tiramisu here is 5 stars.

The double espresso was good, but not excellent (quantity good, but not dark enough, too sour). The price of CHF 7 is the most I have ever paid in Switzerland. The atmosphere is nice, the service is very friendly.

The restaurant was beautifully decorated, you have to give them that. However, the small plate was dirty and that gave you an unhygienic feeling. In addition, the selection of food was very small (only one sheet). I ordered a tomato mozzarella salad for 19 francs (!) and was expecting a decent portion, which also promised something special for such a hefty price. But it was only a small portion with a ball of mozzarella and maybe 10 chopped tomatoes. I could have bought and prepared this myself for 10 francs at Migros. The sauce from the beef fillet was also very bitter. Conclusion: Excessive prices for bad food. I can't recommend it.
