Basilico in Luzern

A relatively small restaurant and very cramped. You can watch the food being cooked and the staff is friendly but very busy! (We were there on a Saturday evening) The pasta was nothing special and tasted like home with ready-made sauce. The bruscetta was great so next time I would give the pizza a chance.

The food was amazing and the portion of the food was huge. Staffs were really friendly and the kitchen was open kitchen which was clean and organized. And the food was such reasonable price. Everything in switzerland is crazy expensive but i was so happy to get into the random restaurant that has nice service, good vibes, tasty foods with good price. HIGHLY RECOMMEND :))

🍝 Pasta with salmon was Okayish : salmon tasted old. 🍕🧂 Pizza wasn't good : tomato sauce was very salty, making it hard to finish it. 🚫 The crew went on a break and closed the kitchen without proposing a desert : i couldn't try the Tiramisu and left disappointed.

Visiting this restaurant was an extremely disappointing experience. From the start the service was anything but satisfactory. It took ages for anyone to even come to our table to take our order. We also had to move around because there were “only” three of us sitting at a table of four. Funnily enough, a little later 3 people sat down at the table of 4 and were allowed to remain seated. When we were finally able to order, it took an unreasonably long time before the first dishes were served. The worst part was that the different parts of our order came at completely different times. The drinks came distributed but after the meal. The chaos continued as the last of the entrees finally arrived. Not only were they way late, but the pizza we ordered was completely burnt. The crust was black and charred, and the flavor was fine. We pointed this out to the waiter and were offered a dessert (it was okay, nothing special). When we asked for an ashtray, the waiter came after about 20 minutes with a cup and water and said he hadn't found one. After a while we got a dirty ashtray. Overall, our visit to this restaurant was an absolute disaster. We were looking forward to a lovely evening, but were met with poor service, delayed and burnt food. We will not recommend the restaurant to anyone. It is unfortunate that such an experience is even possible.

Delicious pasta and pizza, real Italian style, large portions, and very reasonable pricing for Switzerland and a central location in Lucern. Recommended.

We had salad, a mushroom pizza and lasagna. Nice outdoor setting, so that is a plus. The salads were typical of any restaurant, nothing special added, and the lasagna was disappointing. The pizza was good, with a light crust, but only a smattering of mushrooms. The waiter brought us a dirty knife, and seemed surprised that we asked for a clean one. He also requested a tip at the end of our meal, which was another unfortunate surprise.

I’m not sure if it was because I didn’t speak Swiss German (as many reviews here claim) but nobody wanted to serve me. I left after 20 minutes. So many nice places for food and drink, wouldn’t bother to even try this one.

The food was very good and tasty, but unfortunately the service wasn't that attentive. Not entirely satisfactory for us, but definitely recommended when it comes to food.

Catastrophe. Once and never again. Sat outside for 30 minutes and no one came. Then someone came and instead of greeting me I was asked to sit inside because other guests wanted to sit outside. I then left. This restaurant has nothing to do with gastronomy. You should definitely avoid it!

Unfortunately, the food was bland and lacked that certain something. Prices, however, are fair.

As others have said they don't like tourists or non locals and you WILL be treated poor. We are a quiet respectful well dressed couple in our late 30s obviously with money to spend or we wouldn't be here, and asked if they have a table for 2 for dinner. A rude middle age woman who seemed to run the place asked 'reservation'? We said no, she looked around, and said 'you sit here' and guided us behind the dining room to the dark narrow hallway linking the restaurant and kitchen, where the bathrooms are. 3 tables are set here by the bathrooms. We should have left but were starving and I figured we didn't have a reservation so all the empty tables we passed must be reserved. We ordered and ate as fast as we could to get out of there, and when we left I was surprised to see all the same open tables outside and in the front of the restaurant. I seriously don't get restaurants treating their patrons like this and want to warn others visiting for work or vacation as I am here for both, and never again will be tempted to go here and of course have this experience to share with my friends and colleagues. The whole time we were there staff brushed by us in the narrow dark hallway making their way to and from the kitchen and guests visited the restrooms. I typically get wine and dessert, but not in the bathroom hallway! Our lady host checked on the other 2 bathroom tables but not us. On the plus side the service was fast and we were able to leave in an hour. Also our two male waiters were courteous and kind and seemed confused why we were by the toilets as well...just a horrible xenophobic hostess I guess..in the service industry in this international city! FYI the menu is just pizza, pasta, dessert, and salad, no protein. We thought we saw chicken and meat options on the pictures of food but were mistaken.

The staff here is friendly, welcoming, and hard working. Quick prep pasta dishes are the specialty of the house, which they provide at relatively good prices. If you don't mind a carb and cream heavy meal, this is a great option to grab a tasty bowl and save a buck

Staff were friendly and attentive, we were seated right away inside even though we did not make a reservation. It seems they get booked out easily, so recommend making a reservation ahead of time if you can. We didn't make a reservation and the place was fully booked inside so they squeezed us in for a table for an hour only, which was fine with us. We ordered 2 pizzas, one prosciutto and one Basilica. The prosciutto pizza was nicely done and tasty, as for the Basilica I found it to be a bit too much oil, felt like each mouthful I ate was dipped in oil. However taste wise, the Basilica was fine. The prosciutto pizza nowhere as oily. The table next to us got the mushroom pizza and a salami pizza which looked pretty good

It’s cost-effective and friendly. I didn't make a reservation so I sat in the corner, but they asked me if the food was good and they realized right away that the meal was over, so I was able to pay the bill. This is the first time since I came to Europe that I have seen a restaurant that handles business so quickly. Good👍🏼

Tagliatelle are delicious and al dente. However, on each of my two visits something was not as desired: I received spaghetti instead of tagliatelle and the tagliatelle Lucerna with veal unfortunately has nothing to do with the tender pieces of meat promised. The sauce is super tasty, but the meat is like the sole of a shoe... it's a shame...

Quality of pasta and sauce has nothing to do with Italian cuisine, since they cook with milk and butter (probably typical Swiss). The salad was not fresh. The waitress was nice and courteous.

I'm disappointed! I looked for a good Italian restaurant in Lucerne on Uber Eats and found it.. I thought according to the reviews.. & the high-profile advertising, but almost everything -> (Fake) I ordered a portion of spagetti carbonara... but it didn't have much to do with carbonara... the sauce was completely soaked and ran out of the packaging... I have never eaten, or rather drunk, such a liquid carbonara in my entire life. I will never order from it again or even go to the restaurant... The whole thing didn't have much to do with food or Italy... Sorry 40CHF thrown out the window… I wish you all the best, but please change something...

The food was delicious. In the restaurant you can look into the kitchen where we had to observe that the cook blew his nose several times and then touched the food with his hands without washing his hands etc. That is not how it works!

I started looking online for a good Italian restaurant in Lucerne. Based on the reviews I came across the Basilico and went there. However, I was very disappointed. The base of the pizza was not cooked through. When I reported this, the waiter just gave me a blank stare and didn't apologize or do anything. Not at all the experience I expect from a good Italian!

My food was swimming in cream and cheese. (I had ordered cherry tomatoes with onions, garlic, basil and cream) We complained but the waitress didn't understand us. (Language barrier on his part)

Food is good, but everything around it is not customer oriented at all. Regarding pickup: The pickup time was exceeded by 20 minutes, the pizza and hamburgers are not matched, i.e. the pizza was cold when we finally received the hamburgers and we had to warm them up again in the microwave at home. The staff wasn't very friendly either. There's no need to be hopeful about Corona protective measures either: of the three workers behind the counter, one wore a mask and of the two who prepared the food, one didn't wear a mask at all and one had the mask under his nose. In addition, the seating is too close for the distance to be maintained.

Die verschiedenen Pastagerichte sind immer sehr lecker. In diesem Restaurant kann man sehr speditiv seine Mittagspause verbringen - sofern man einen Sitzplatz findet. Das Restaurant ist immer sehr gut besucht. Zurecht!

Super gelegen. Toller Service. Rasche Bedienung. Mir sind die Holzschemel einfach nicht bequem... und die Corona-Trennwände (eine Massnahme gegen die der Wirt nichts machen kann) sind sicher nützlich, aber leider sehr unpraktisch, weil viel zu eng. Etwas mehr Platz und Comfort wäre ein echter Gewinn. Das Essen übrigens schmeckt gut.

Très bonne pizza ! Lieu très bruyant et niveau confort des chaises et tables c'est pas le top... il y a des séparations entre chaque tables mais l impression quand même d'être les uns sur les autres . Mais les prix sont corrects et les serveuses très gentilles et souriante !

Das Restaurant ist sehr klein deswegen lohnt es sich auf Jedenfall immer zu Reservieren oder es muss mit einer Wartezeit gerechnet werden. Das Essen kann auch als To-go bestellt und abgeholt werden. Neben dem Basilico liegt gleich das Jeff`s Burgers, egal in welchem der Restaurants man den Tisch hat man kann sich die Karte des anderen geben lassen. Somit kommt sicherlich jeder zum Genuss. Die Portionen sind eher gross und der Preis angebracht. Das Personal ist immer sehr höflich und zuvorkommend.

Sicherlich komme meine Wenigkeit hier mit meinen Bekannten her und kann mich darauf verlassen meisterhaft betreut zu werden.Ich kann dies Lokal sehr empfehlen!Das Restaurant ist wahrlich enorm schön möbliert. Keine billige Deko, stattdessen es war farblich das meiste überaus hübsch auf einander angepasst.Wir beide waren zu gemeinsam anwesend und jeder von uns hat etwas anderes sich bestellt was mich angeht kann sagen, ich hab von allem einen Tick gekostet und es war alles top.
