As always, we look for another restaurant for Sunday that is open that day and since I like to drive a bit to get to know something new, this time we ended up in Baar, near Zug. An actually inconspicuous house from the 70s. There are a few parking spaces directly in front of the house and apparently on a Sunday it is mostly visited by older people who would like to sit back on a Sunday and treat themselves to really excellent food. Anyone who can still remember how their grandmother cooked will be able to experience it again here: the salad is served at exactly the right temperature and very generously. The soup boiled down properly for several hours and was so good that I immediately ordered a second one. The main course with vegetables that are properly cooked but not yet falling apart. The meat is really tender and the sauce is really delicious. The service was really excellent and always careful to see if anything was missing, but really not intrusive. And the absolute best thing: the 75-year-old owner works at the buffet and his 99-year-old mother helps him!!! We got to know this because, as I rarely did, I gave the serving daughter a lot of compliments and then an older lady came up to us and sat down with us and explained everything about this house and of course her age. A wonderful and detailed conversation that we really appreciated and were able to once again pass on our enthusiasm about the really excellent and sensational food - an absolute insider tip, especially for this price for only 86 francs for 2 people, with soup, salad main course, Drinks and a coffee!!!!

Original 70 Style furniture. Eyecatcher! The Place to be in Baar. Good Food, lovely Location. Coffee with old School cream in chocolate. Local People like this place! If you look for something special, than go for the Bären in Baar!

It is nice, it has indoor and outdoor pools for adults and children, it also has a sauna. It is a good point to cool off and have a fun time.

Simply good! Fair prices, real Swiss cuisine, the soup is made in-house (like before) and friendly staff. Nothing stands in the way of a yes.

We go there often because we feel like we're at home or like we're going to grandma's. The owner is over 90 years old, super nice woman welcomes everyone personally. Great food which is also very cheap compared to the other restaurants. Everything is freshly cooked. Very friendly conditions. We also like Rada very much and her friendliness is unique. We hope that this restaurant stays like this for a long time. Thank you for everything
