Berghaus Planalp in Brienz (BE)

Great view. Nice service. Special cuisine. A must for every Rothorn visitor. Attention, insider tip. Do not miss!! We will be back.

This was the tastiest restaurant we have been to in Switzerland! Finally not the regular fried dishes for tourist. A small well picked menu, done with great care and served fresh. The staff were amazing and nice and the location and view are a gem. This was completely unexpected and made for a lovely afternoon sitting.

Quaint inn, cozy, clean and well-kept, with delicious food that invites you to linger.

Very nice ladies, unfortunately not good cooks! The risitto was raw and dry and the bratwurst was dusty. Plus there’s no sauce! The service was friendly, hardly spoke any German! The ambience was gloomy - only a few candles! We were invited (family meeting)

Stopped there after a long descent from the Rothorn. Very nice terrace with seating. Small but nice menu. Cheese platters and chocolate cake were very tasty. Very friendly girls

A special Alp. Familiar and cozy.

Everything was top notch - the hostesses at the Berghaus are simply great - very friendly and accommodating. Simone and Lairssa seem to be the bosses 😀. We were able to enjoy Simone, Larissa and the entire Berghaus team for three years. Unfortunately, the women and their team will no longer fill the Berghaus Planalp with life next year (2023). 😞 We hope that the following management team will also look after the guests excellently and wish you good luck and much success in advance.

Beautiful spot for a delicious lunch of their homemade soup of the day and sausage (especially after the hike down from the Rothorn). I would show a photo of the soup and sausage but they were very rapidly consumed. The coffee with schnapps was a delightful dessert.

The food was brilliant, cooked with love and can only be recommended. I had the salad and it was wonderfully prepared with so much detail, the minced meat patties were incredibly soft and the best I've ever eaten in a long time. The service was super friendly and always had a smile on her face. You have a great view on the terrace. And the toilet is also super cute and well made. Absolutely worth a visit.

The place is crazy Sessions are internal and external There is racism in the request and the employee is very tactless She informed me that she was taking the order from the table, and we waited for more than a quarter of an hour, and no one took the order. She went to tables of foreigners who were served with unsophisticated service, and her response to me was (be patient 😑😕) We were bound by a specific time to return by train I do not recommend dealing with them 👎🏼

Simple and cozy. Very nice terrace with a view. The tables are placed under old trees. The menu is not large but very suitable for a mountain restaurant. The homemade iced tea is very refreshing. The service is very friendly and committed. It's worth a visit.

Every visit to Planalp is an experience - not just the ride on the Rothornbahn and the beautiful landscape; The culinary delights are second to none, especially worth mentioning: the heavenly homemade salad dressing!

I hiked up the Rothorn last year. On the way back I rewarded myself at the Berghaus. Very good food and great service! I'd love to come back soon :)

Lovely place with lovely people!

Fantastic little restaurant to linger after a long hike. Clear menu with local and healthy delicacies. We decided on a salad bowl for two. This was garnished with blueberries from Meiringen and other fruits. The salad dressing was homemade! All mixed together, one poem! We also drank iced tea (house blend). Finally, an ice cream from the Haslital. (If you don't know it, you're missing out) Courteous service who also takes the time to chat with the guests. You not only feel like a welcome guest, but more like a friend. Well-kept terrace and comfortably furnished dining room. We recommend!! Thank you very much for the great hospitality.

Small but good selection of local dishes. Staff really very friendly. It's a 3-minute walk from the Planalp station. Location is very idyllic.

Thank you for this extraordinary weekend 😊 We were able to spend two really great nights in the mountain house, which was furnished with great attention to detail!! We particularly liked the personal interaction with our two hosts Simone and Larissa :) The incredible view of Lake Brienz from our room couldn't be topped. Planalp is an excellent starting point for hikes to the Brienzer Rothorn and the Brienzer Grat.

Great cozy restaurant and extremely friendly service. Not a huge menu, but without electricity this is understandable. Attention: It is not possible to charge your cell phone, the entire Planalp is not connected to the power grid.

20 CHF 1 bottle of water and apple juice. It's theft, right?
