Nice location, friendly staff, the apple pie tasted excellent

Our stay was simply fantastic! The location is breathtaking with a breathtaking view of the Alps. The food was super tasty and the price was fair. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere in the cabin was cozy and inviting.

A very welcome place to eat at the end of the winter walk from First, via Faulhorn. The staff were friendly and efficient. The Apfelkuchen huge and delicious and the chips very nice.

The ambience and the view have potential for a good restaurant. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. We made reservations a month in advance for several hours but we were still politely asked to leave after 2 hours even though brunch and dinner were planned. When we arrived we were given a z'vieri plate, which was actually good. However, the table wasn't cleared afterwards and there were no napkins anywhere. After a very short break, dinner was served, which was incomprehensible because our hunger had been satisfied for the time being. So we stuffed ourselves with dinner in unison. Instead of clearing the table, everything was left standing and the staff sat down at the table next to us and started eating. So the staff can and should eat, but I doubt whether that is the right approach. Shortly after dinner we were politely allowed to leave the restaurant outside so that we could set up for the next ones, which completely irritated us because it wasn't agreed upon. So we had to wait an hour in the cold for the bus to the valley, and as compensation we were served schnapps and mulled wine outside, which we had to pay for. The heaters were turned on, but they didn't help at all because they were set too low and it was also very cold in the restaurant itself because all the doors were constantly left open. The concept should urgently be revised because the restaurant actually has potential. The food was okay but nothing special. Too bad, once and never again.

It was fine overall. It's very busy if you go there for the night sledge riding, as everybody is coming together. It so happened that our table got forgotten and we had to rush our fondue to get on the sledge on time, but we managed and enjoyed the experience over all 👍

We had our “budenabend” yesterday, Saturday January 27th, 2024, in this restaurant and there were 21 people. Most people took the homemade cheese fondue and a few took à la carte (according to those who took it off the menu, most were disappointed). Without asking in advance, everyone was served a mixed salad, even those who refused it. There was no hand soap in the women's toilet. The napkins were forgotten at the table. Around 6:45 p.m. we were moved to the unheated terrace because the next large group was already on their way to the restaurant by bus. Unfortunately, we were not informed of this in advance, only about 20 minutes beforehand.

What we experienced in this restaurant today is simply disappointing. It's a real shame that in such a beautiful place the quality of the food and service in the restaurant simply has to be rated as unsatisfactory.

Everything is fine. O. Food fine. Staff very friendly. You just have to be aware that with Night Sledging Plus on Saturday you have to wait a long time (over 1 hour) for your food. We were one of the latter and unfortunately missed the bus at the bottom.

The food was good and the view is great. The staff is friendly but even if it's not full you wait a long time just to order. There is still room for improvement in terms of organization.

Pleasant atmosphere. Makes you relax a lot. But it is also due to the view and made easy. Service friendly. . Gladly again

A great place, homemade goulash and barley soup. Wonderful cakes baked by the boss herself. Great coffee from a Grindelwald roastery. Watching marmots included. All in all: it was definitely worth the strenuous climb.

We had the honor of celebrating our wedding on March 25th at Bussalp. Ivan and another employee helped perfectly and ran the store. Be it setting up the decorations, serving the food, aperitif, wedding ceremony... everything went perfectly and was only possible thanks to the huge effort of both of them. The ambience is unique with the Eiger in the background and beautifully decorated inside. Thank you Ivan for everything and gladly again. I can only recommend!! Greetings Tobias

Great for a drink after sledding down from Faulhorn while waiting for the bus back to Grindelwald.

We were in the restaurant with 9 people on Saturday followed by night sledding. We registered for it 1 month ago as it was a birthday party. Nevertheless, the staff was overwhelmed. (They went up in the same bus as us). After some discussions, we still had raclette as requested. However, the supplements were very poorly priced or not available at all. There were no spices, no bacon, a few pickles and very little potatoes. When I asked, they said they had run out of potatoes. (even though we reserved 1 month ago??) Next time we will just skip sledding and a visit to a restaurant.

Night tobogganing with raclette/fondue. The tea wasn't really hot and the service was unsatisfactory. You have to wait forever. But the raclette was ok. The potatoes were also cold. You can safely skip eating in the mountain restaurant before night sledding.

Worst experience ever! Despite booking in advance, the kitchen and staff were not prepared and completely overwhelmed! Raclette and fondue were absolutely inedible, potatoes were cold, there were no spices, frozen pizza was served with ketchup, Alpine macarons with sausage but without applesauce. None of it was good! Never again! A pity!

Very nice view from the terrace. But how can you screw up Älplermagronen? The offer is very modest. Would love to go back for a coffee and never again for food.

If you like to take pictures and go on introductory hiking trails, I recommend the Eiger ultra trail. From First there are many trails to choose from, about 3 hours follow the Bussalp sign to Bergrestaurant Bussalp with beer and snack food, and there is a bus

A nice self-service restaurant with a limited menu (this could be because it was summer) and a great view. The one staff member we saw was very pleasant and served us quickly.

Nice restaurant at the top of Bussalp, with a great view onto the valley. Usual fare, including fondue. Bathrooms available on the ground floor (good idea to go before you start your run down the slope!)

Great restaurant with a sheltered terrace and great views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. I had the Rösti for lunch and Kaiserschmarrn for dessert, both were delicious and I can highly recommend them.

Was expecting it to be super expensive as it's both Switzerland and halfway up a mountain but prices were reasonable. Food was good too. The views were amazing.

Arrived after 3.5 hours of walking, place with a beautiful mountain map and delicious alpen-maccheroni!!!

So beautifully located. Self-service. Deck chairs with a view of the mountain panorama. Children's air trampoline doesn't have to be a must. Not because of the children, but it's a shame about the background noise from the air machine.

Great view, poor service The staff prefers it if the guest turns around right at the door. It's a shame, but business here is running thanks to Asian groups anyway.

Unfortunately we weren't happy with the fondue we ordered. It was like curdled and tasted like flour soup. The staff and ambience of the restaurant are very good.

Last Saturday, me and two others had planned a leisurely day of sledding. Although we were not satisfied with the organization of the toboggan runs in terms of bus rides and other things, we wanted to take a break at around 2:30 p.m. to get something to eat. Hungry and waiting for the service, she finally came to our table, whereupon we wanted to order something to eat. However, she informed us that the kitchen no longer had anything to offer except Alpine macarons. My companion then asked her about the reason and unfortunately she cheekily couldn't even give us a real reason, other than that the kitchen had nothing left and that at 2:30 in the afternoon! The best thing was that she said something different to every table, which showed that something was definitely wrong. However, people continued to talk about it and were seriously disappointed by the catering industry.

We ate there yesterday with 15 people. Although other guests could order a la carte, there was only fondue original for groups (despite 10 different ones on the menu). The potatoes and cucumbers that were ordered were usually not served, and the fondue that was ordered was inedible. We had to pay before the 2nd fondue, after which we were evicted from the restaurant. Greetings to the waitress with the mustache and glasses...

Best traditional älplermagronen I had in the whole if Switzerland! Amazing view and nice hiking area.

A single catastrophe, it's not even worth it to me to report in detail what was wrong and all that for a horrendous 320 francs. Unfriendly staff and bad food. feedback was at least received kindly by the chefs. But tourists don't care because they won't come back anyway.

Very nice service, decent menu. Very nice view of Grindelwald and Eiger, Schreckhorn and Wetterhorn. As in all mountain restaurants, it is difficult to assess value for money. The higher cost of delivery is also reflected in the price.

Loved the traditional Swiss food

Unfortunately, service was bad, we didn't get two drinks, it was virtually impossible to reorder, something was missing from two menus, and the promise to bring them wasn't kept. Tap water costs almost the same as carbonated mineral water (0.20 per liter less, so around 9 per liter!!!) The food was ok.

Beautiful view & kitchen only open until 2 p.m. We came to the restaurant shortly before 2:00 p.m., a service employee with a mustache and glasses served us very unfriendly: we wanted to order food, he just said "NO!" in annoyance. I asked twice when there would be food again. Unfortunately he couldn't answer that for us and only gave short, annoyed answers. A service employee was friendly and politely explained to us that warm food was only available until 2 p.m. It's a shame how much a single unfriendly and rude employee makes the restaurant feel bad.
