Nice view, good food and friendly staff.

Lunch during our ski break. Food not great, greasy and overcooked. Beautiful view, well placed.

We had lunch here as a family. The experience was a bit mixed: the children's menus tasted great and were cheap for what was on offer (decent portion). As an adult, I treated myself to schnitzel with fries. Unfortunately that was just average, i.e. the mini schnitzels still have room for improvement in terms of taste. The fries were OK. In contrast to the children's menus, the price/performance ratio here was rather mediocre. The service, on the other hand, was good, but there weren't many people due to the weather.

Once great, now terrible. Service overwhelmed, waiting time forever. Wrong order delivered. Low quality food, spaghetti overcooked and without salt. Bolognese was chilli sauce….

Very cozy with a fantastic view and an ideal location near the Schreckfeld train station. fair prices and the deck chairs invite you to relax and linger. I hiked up from Grindelwald - highly recommended!

One of the better restaurants here on First. The quality of the food is good. Service is friendly and attentive. The terrace is nice. The view is wonderful

Absolutely to avoid Recently my family and I visited Schreckfeld Restaurant for a 2:30 p.m. meal. When I asked the waiter to warm up the drink for my 14-month-old baby, he refused and said it wasn't possible. Curious and dissatisfied with his answer, I went to the kitchen to ask for an explanation. There I met the chef and a waitress, both of whom were busy explaining to me that they didn't have time for such a request. At that time the restaurant was far from full. Their refusal to provide such a simple service, especially in an empty establishment, is not only unacceptable but also shameful. It is scandalous that such individuals continue to work in the hospitality industry, profiting financially all year round, while showing such a lack of consideration and respect for their customers.

Gulash soup? Onion sauce? rather tasteless, thickened broths… a shame. Try the goulash on the Männlichen as a comparison. Service overwhelmed, long waiting times.

A good experience in a great place, but the customer service is not good and they are not friendly at all with everyone The food has a menu for vegetarians. We tried the spaghetti, it was good, and the chicken nugget was not good, very, very tough.

Far too expensive for this bag. The fries were probably salted from the cellar's sweat, which steadily dripped into my plate. The small schnitzel resembled more the sole of a shoe than a piece of pork.

Food is not worth the price... Everything is cold and doesn't taste good. Only the fries are great!

Arrived there on the last day of the season. Wanted a hot chocolate but that was no longer possible, just a Swiss version. No problem, tried that and it was fine. You could clearly tell from the service that it was the last day that service had never been so grumpy.

Margarita pizza was so delicious....

Wow, I've never eaten worse. The pizza was super greasy, the cheese had a disgusting taste and it was burnt from the bottom. Of course you could have complained about it, but first you get barked at because the staff doesn't speak German and then the friendliness doesn't get any better. The money can be invested much better...

The cheese and ham sandwich with some garnish was very tasty. The butter tasted like mountain meadow in the best possible way. The cheese was really tasty and the ham was really good too. I had no expectations, but I was very positively surprised. Thank you very much😊

Wonderful food and an amazing view

Enjoyed a delicious lunch with a wonderful view, unfortunately the modern music from the Alpine kiosk was disruptive. Service was friendly, the Cordonbleu was great.

I visited this place five years ago in July. Agreed to go to this area many times but could not go up again. It is a very beautiful place. I really want to see it again

Fantastic restaurant, well worth the stop on the way up. Food was good - I’d recommend the local sausage and cheese salad. Service was perfect - the waitress spoke good English and was thoroughly friendly.

Beautiful scenery but terrible customer service, the gentleman who served us was rude and obnoxious. This made the atmosphere very tense. Sadly this happened with other customers too. Very disappointing as the day has been breathtaking this incident put a damper on the end of our trip here.

Went hiking there 3 weeks ago. When we first had to clear the tables ourselves from the previous person, I wanted to get the drinks afterwards... the landlord and the waitress were very unfriendly!! partly laughed at me, what do I mean where I am? (Order was 3 x Aperol Spritz) that's a nicer way to say that they don't have that in their range. In my opinion he has no idea about the hospitality industry... someone else should do that with friends. Very unfortunate

Great if you're hungry after hiking through Marmot Valley. There is a wind-protected terrace and delicious dishes such as Rösti. The other tables in front of the restaurant are self-service. The burgers here are amazing.

Had a good meal here. Nice host. The terrace is large with opportunities to play, including posing with colorful plastic cows. Magnificent view.

Actually -1 star. Don't try to charge your e-bike here. The owner is extremely unpleasant to paying guests!

It is in a very luxurious place. 3000-4000m mountain peaks can be seen as far as the eye can see, and a beautiful village below us. The kitchen is real Swiss, they serve all important local food and drinks. You can eat and drink delicious things. The staff is nice.

The name seems to say it all here. It was terrible in all areas. There was also a long waiting time and drafts due to the doors being open. The food was barely edible. Things are much better in the self-service restaurant.

The fries were cold already, the schnitzel was the worst ever, very hard and without taste (cold already as well). The owner (or manager) was very rude. The lady serving was nice The decoration inside is the only good thing.

A little wait, but everything is very good

Yesterday my children waited more than 30 minutes to get a Burger, they really wanted it, but when it was their turn the cook refused to serve them and moved on to the next person. He never wanted to hear or discuss anything!!! My children had queued like everyone else, and had not overtaken anyone. They are 9, 11 and 14 years old and do not speak German... so it is difficult to defend themselves... Not content with not serving them, this gentleman also yelled at them for nothing! Not to mention that the next customer, very nice, thank you very much to him, acted as if nothing had happened... solidarity at the top!!! We won't go back there 🤬

The hit of the week...unfortunately it wasn't a hit Described in the menu as the super thing, it came with a microwave-heated ready-made cordon bleu that was baked again in the pan so that it was black at the bottom, to charge 27 Sfr for it,,, borders on fraud!

The view is beautiful, but unfortunately this is the only thing that leads to stars. We've been waiting for our food for 20 minutes, other tables have already been served even though we were here before them. The bread was also very dry.

I don't know if the food is better in summer. But at the moment the price/performance is far from being right. If you sell spaghetti Bolognese for 18 francs, you would probably expect that to be a large portion. The Bolognese itself is good, but with what feels like 3 tablespoons of sauce it is a bit lean and the portion itself is also very small. The hash browns taste like they came straight from the deep fryer and are dripping with fat. You are then asked whether it was tasty and give an honest answer, but when you see that exactly the same thing is served the next day, you could save yourself that question. The drinks warm/cold are good, the view is great.

Excellent welcome. Nestled in the heart of the mountain, this is a place conducive to relaxation. Beautiful complete menu with everything. Regional products and cured meats. And all with a magnificent view of the Eiger.

The old women that work in restaurant is very rude

We came for a late lunch, but were surprised by the delicious food here! I got chicken breast in creamy sauce with potato tots as a side, and my girlfriend got spaghetti with bolognese sauce, both were really good!

Very quiet, stunning view of the Alps (esp. Eiger) and the foods are generally good. Context: visited during early summer (1st June) at about 12pm.

Loved the food!!! The pasta with white sauce is also served with apple sauce which is really tasty. The staff was very friendly.
