Big praise to the entire staff at Bethesda Hospital. Especially to the ladies in the nursing staff. Very helpful and empathetic. They listen to you and are very competent. My postpartum stay was extremely pleasant, despite personal difficulties. I thank myself.

I went to see the doctor Anzhela Albrecht. She is outstanding. I have had problems for almost 6 years and changed 3 useless gynecologists until I came to Ms. Albrecht. There are not enough words to describe how grateful I am for her help, she is fantastic, extremely professional, sensitive, understanding and competent.

Surgery like clockwork. Staff nice to very nice. The food is so-so. BUT TV costs SFr. 8.00.-- PER DAY!! Coffee in between meals has to be paid extra... The "smoking pavilion", more like a tram stop, is ALWAYS in the shade. The fact that there are no newspapers is not surprising. Men/women can only buy these at the kiosk. 20 minutes, will be put away if a visitor accidentally leaves one lying around.😉

As soon as you enter Bethesda, you can already feel the calming and friendly atmosphere. The interior design gives you a comfortable feeling, you feel like you are in good hands. The whole staff was sooooo nice and, as a new mom, they helped me so much, explained things and made me feel good with humor, empathy and private anecdotes. The food was also super tasty. So just top from A to Z.

Never again!!!!, I was there in an emergency, after 1 1/2 hours I was told that the doctor in charge was in surgery (only because I asked), which means that I would certainly have had to wait that long again. It is an absolute disgrace to leave the patient in the dark. If I had known this beforehand, I would have gone to another clinic. So now I've wasted time and money. Never again!!! By the way, I can do without their standard comment here in the reviews, as they are probably from AI, which means that they don't care!

I am with the psychologist, Ms. Rahel Velte, she is a wonderful woman and she is young, but has amazing experience and she has a very high level of intelligence in her field, she understands people who have psychological problems so quickly and understands quickly their needs. Every time it's like being on holiday here for me. Quiet atmosphere, great support from the anesthetists, I felt like I was in good hands, great service, only the cleaning staff is a bit loud, the food is delicious despite lactose and gluten intolerance. If you have general insurance, you almost feel like a first-class patient. Everything was great, nothing to complain about. Again any time. =)

Terrible Hospital, Time Physiotherapy very rude. And impatient...

Was there for the birth. Doctors are very nice and well trained. Unfortunately, I had traumatic experiences during birth and the postpartum period. The midwife who took over after the change of duty and immediately before the birth told me a few minutes later when the little one was there that I probably couldn't breastfeed because my breasts were too small... it continued in the postpartum period... they literally forced me for breastfeeding even though I didn't have enough milk.. the little one had to go hungry and only occasionally, and only after I asked several times did she finally get some.. We left a day early because my husband couldn't stand it that I feel incapable.. I wasn't offered a pump right from the start, although that would definitely have helped.... never give birth again.. I will deliver the next child in the university hospital..

We gave birth to our little miracle at Bethesda and I felt comfortable, perfectly looked after and informed at all times. The warm team at the maternity clinic was wonderful. Everyone was very compassionate and the emergency caesarean section was very organized. Everyone was so welcoming, you couldn't help but feel comfortable! <3 A huge thank you goes to Dr. Zuercher, who took away my fears with his wonderful manner, was by my side and held my hand. Our little one was also happy about a visit to the postpartum ward. THANKS!!!

Thank you for all the great care at the maternity hospital from the doctors to the nursing staff. Everything was well organized. I felt comfortable and taken seriously. This time was different than the first birth.

The worst moments I spent were in that hospital. I do not recommend choosing the hospital for anyone who chooses to give birth there. Of the 2 experiences, the 2 were very bad, lack of professionalism, lack of assistance. The first baby was bad but I still believed it wouldn't happen again and what happened was something I wasn't expecting, it was an extremely painful natural birth. I asked for an epidural and what I was told was that the specialist was in another emergency and couldn't come to me. Which is sad in the century in which we are having a super horrible birth without the help of professionals who should be able to help us. It's been 1 year since I had my baby and I'm still being seen by a psychologist for therapy. I suffer from the births I had thanks to this hospital. Please remember that this is not the only hospital in Basel when choosing to have your children.

ATTENTION MATERNITY CLINIC: As of June 2023, mother and newborn are strictly only allowed to be visited by their partner and any siblings. Even in a family room. Even if the new mother wants visitors, this is not allowed. A mother or father is also not allowed to visit their daughter and their new grandchild. If the grandmother is looking after a grandchild during the confinement and wants to pay a visit, she will not be allowed to do so. The father should come out and pick up the child, the grandmother has to wait downstairs. Alternatively, you can only see each other in the cafeteria if the mother is even able to do so after giving birth. - According to the couple, the room temperature was 26-29°C, and there is no climate control. Incidentally, this was also the case in the rehabilitation area: patients with a naked upper body to endure the heat. It's a shame, after our own operations and the birth of our own children and grandchildren in Bethesda, it's definitely time to say goodbye. It's a shame about the good nursing services when the administration drives the hospital to the wall. By the way: In the University Hospital of Basel, and even in the Regional Hospital Rheinfelden, there are normal visiting regulations and times for relatives (and: family rooms are available there at significantly lower prices). The statement that “the women would have wanted it that way” seems to be purely a protective claim. Who, when and how many decided that? And if so much attention is paid to patients, why is a mother's wish to see her own mother and show the newborn not granted? Bethesda? No thanks. Not like that!

She arrived at the gynecological emergency room with blood loss and contractions. Two and a half hours left waiting for the only gynecologist in the entire hospital, who was supposed to assist women in labor and provide first aid. I had to go to another hospital….ah then I lost my baby. I hope you can't sleep at night!

Very nice, helpful lady at reception even in emergency situations

My mother is now in the Besthesda Hospital for the third time and EVERY time there are waiting times of at least 1/2 to 1 hour. It's really annoying!! Reception of radiology catastrophe, 1 hour waiting time! Orthopedics has competent doctors who unfortunately have no time for the patients. Quickly lock up and rush out. The nurses in orthopedics were also uncomfortable because after 45 minutes we couldn't take it anymore and had to ask what was going on. They are the ones who have to pay for everything. It's a shame, I'm really extremely disappointed with Bethesda!

My mother was recently a pain patient in rheumatology at Bethesda Hospital. She was enthusiastic and received excellent professional and human support under the leadership of Prof. Gadola and the entire team. A big thank you to the whole team. We are happy to recommend Bethesda Hospital for rheumatism and pain patients.

Never give birth here again! It was my first child. Zero empathy, midwives were totally overwhelmed and very rude. Expectations for the expectant mother are very, very high! Zero support with the baby. We were simply left alone. Everything always had to be done quickly, hop, hop. Push as often as possible (without contractions, mind you!!) so that the child is FINALLY here... That's what the midwife said in an annoyed tone... Very aggressive behavior towards the patients. My roommate felt exactly the same way. We were very angry. Nobody was interested in our feedback. We went through hell here!!! The star here goes to the doctors. They were all great!!!

For the 2nd time, no prescription for blood collection. No registration for the X-ray, although I called on Friday and had the appointment confirmed by the X-ray on Monday... Since Mrs. Dr. B. I don't know anymore, nothing works here anymore... I'm just so annoyed by the incompetence of certain people...

I want to thank all midwifes and personel that took care of me.They were very professional and kind and helped me having an overall positive birth experience. I would give even more stars if I could! A few weeks ago I was able to experience the birth of my daughter. Due to complications we were in the hospital for a total of 5 days. The midwives in the maternity clinic, in addition to being very professionally trained, were super friendly and kind and did everything they could to make you feel as comfortable as possible, even in difficult situations. I would especially like to highlight my midwife Martina, who helped me bring my daughter into the world. With a lot of empathy she managed to guide me through the birth and brought my daughter into the world healthy. I couldn't have asked for a better midwife. The days after the birth in the postpartum ward were also very positive and we were very well looked after. Despite the difficult birth, I have very fond memories of Bethesda Hospital.

I have been under the care of the Hip Orthopaedics team and they have been fantastic from Day 1. I have just had surgery with a 2 night stay and I cannot find fault in anything. Everyone has been super helpful and friendly, from the receptionists, MRI technicians and night nurses to the staff that performed my surgery. I only had basic insurance but the standard at Bethesda is a 2 person room. I think that this is a major plus for anyone needing surgery. It was a bit like staying in a hotel with someone in the opposite side of the room.

I recently gave birth at Bethesda and felt extremely well cared for by the entire staff: from the wonderful team of midwives to the OB-GYN Dr. Gerresheim, the lactation consultant Tanja, room service, cleaning staff and beyond. They truly looked after my son and me, helping us navigate the first difficult days with a newborn, always with a smile and kind, reassuring words. Further, the recovery rooms were extremely comfortable and well-stocked with supplies, the meals were tasty, and they even provide a professional photo service for newborn babies that I really appreciated. If I could give the team 10 stars I would! I am so grateful for our time at Bethesda and the support I received there.

According to a statement from my orthopedist, documents from me were sent to the Bethesda Hospital, orthopedics department, on September 7, 2022. On September 13th, 2022 I asked whether the documents were there and how long I would have to wait for an appointment. Yes, your documents have arrived, was the statement on the phone. But I would definitely have to wait another 1 to 2 weeks until my documents were sent to a doctor. On October 13th, 2022 I called again to ask why I hadn't gotten an appointment yet. The lady on the phone told me that she didn't know my name and that there were no documents for me in the system. But she would request this again in the next few days. On October 17th, 2022 I called again to ask if the documents were there. Yes, the documents are now there. The lady then said that she still had many appointments available and could even give me an appointment this week, but she doubted that my documents could be assigned to a doctor that quickly. You will contact me again. On October 20th, 2022 I received 2 callbacks in a row with 2 different numbers from Bethesda Hospital. I was out with the dog and unfortunately didn't hear it. When I called back both numbers, I only heard the answering machine saying that this department was currently unstaffed. This for 2 days!!!!!!!!! I then called headquarters to report this. The lady said there was nothing she could do but gave me an email address where I could contact me. The doctor I wrote to wrote me back immediately with the note that she had not been working in this department for 1.5 years. But would arrange for someone to call me back. This callback has not yet been received. I then contacted the referring doctor to ask what I could do. The receptionist actually tells me that the lady in charge at Betheda Hospital reported to her on October 20th, 2022 that I was UNREACHABLE. This is the peak!!! To date I have not received an appointment or a phone call. Do I have to understand that ? Do you understand that? I've been waiting for, say, 7 weeks now for an appointment that I don't really want to have anymore because of the trust I have lost, but I almost have to. Because which hospital still has orthopedics??? I'm really stunned.

You are sent home with pain even though you can't walk even 10m... nothing else is a rip off here, in my opinion every other hospital is better than here!!! It's sad that humanity is missing here!!

My grandfather was sent home with very severe hip pain. Nothing was examined, even though he couldn't even walk anymore. Yesterday he felt so bad that he had to call an emergency doctor, who immediately took him to the hospital in an ambulance (luckily for him, not to Bethesda). At the hospital he was x-rayed and diagnosed with a broken bone in his hip.

I've always wanted to give birth to my child at Bethesda Hospital, so I've been looking for years to see which gynecologist is an attending physician at Bethesda and decided on someone because I've always heard only good things and gave birth there myself. Unfortunately it was a huge disappointment for me. The staff was completely overwhelmed this weekend. No one could really take care of us. Breastfeeding help? None. We were simply left “alone”. I was taken to my room on a Friday afternoon, the bedding was already bleeding to death, the whole thing was changed on Saturday afternoon on the 4th shift. I was offered painkillers, but never brought. After I wanted to dismiss myself, I was not taken seriously and I was treated unkindly. That's really a pity.

On August 9th, 2022 I had knee surgery in this hospital. And I can only report the best! Very very friendly staff. Stay calm and calm even if something doesn't work right away. I gave birth to my daughter at Bethesda Hospital on June 2nd. I was extremely satisfied with my stay and have to give a huge compliment to all the midwives and nurses in the birthing room and then the care in the single room/family room. The care was always sensational, although the job is not easy, they were always friendly and positive ! The room service was also very good and the ladies were always friendly. A big compliment to the entire surgical team, the doctors did a great job. What I would also like to mention is that the food was always delicious! Many thanks to the entire staff, as well as to the doctors and midwives for the great care! I would like to give it 20 stars. ☺️

I gave a birth in Bethesda Spital a year ago. On a positive side: - I was very lucky with my doctor (agreed in advance) and a nurse. They did an amazing job - The anesthesiologists were very professional and friendly. Epidural worked very well, no complications - Nice rooms like in a hotel Needs to be improved: - They were overwhelmed with many babies. For some time I was left with a nurse who did not speak English or French. And then she left the room. I was in pain and alone. I started to plan to go to Unispital. Eventually they helped but those 30 min were terrible. - I checked in in a private room. When I was giving the birth they moved all my stuff incl. valuables from the safe to a shared room. I was informed about this only afterwards. - After the birth I had mastitis with fever 39 degrees and came to the hospital. Instead of making the tests they recommended me just to rest. I had to come the next day again to get antibiotics. "Unfortunately the nurse on the first day was unexperienced" they explained me afterwards. - When the water broke I came to hospital. They made a test and told me it was not the amniotic fluid. I had to come and go several times until they made another test and confirmed it.

Very nice and competent staff! I have never felt as comfortable as I did in Bethesda Hospital! Constructive criticism: Why does TV cost 8 CHF per day? In times of Netflix etc. I can't imagine anyone using this. With Zatoo via the free wifi with a table, the TV connection would also be free.

Everything was great, from appointments, preliminary consultation, anesthesia, surgery and the extremely loving and warm nursing team. But the food, sorry, an absolute disaster. I'm sorry for the expression. I originally come from the travel industry and have had test meals in many hotels, but I haven't had such a bad meal anywhere 😔 The gravy went straight from the fridge onto the plate, bread unfortunately wasn't fresh from the bakery, etc. It's a shame. 1 plus point the type of tea was very tasty.

I went home today after almost two weeks of REHA after a fracture of the femoral neck with the use of an artificial hip joint (operated in Dornach Hospital). I have made great progress during this time, the nursing staff and therapists are very friendly and helpful and certainly have a lot of knowledge. What I was missing was the experience of the therapists. Most are still in training or have just completed it. This means that some of them stick very closely to the papers, have very little confidence in you and are slowing down further progress in mobility. I think the intensity and mobility should be steadily increased within two weeks, especially if the patient feels good. Pure “hospital mobility” is not enough for everyday life. You therefore have to test out additional things on your own so as not to be overwhelmed after leaving. I would like to particularly praise a therapist in training, Ms. Luana Gander. She felt the most about what I needed after my stay and gave me good tips. I received very good medical care from Mr. Hartmann and Aeschlimann, while the ward doctor made an insecure impression and shocked me for a short time when she told me that my urine was bad, but up until that point I had never given a urine sample. . Not as bad as the doctor in Ticino who amputated the wrong woman's breasts, but a mistake that shouldn't actually happen. Unfortunately there was no apology either. About the hotel industry: Very good, varied food and very appealing service. What's less good is that you don't get "real" coffee for breakfast or after other meals or you have to buy it at restaurant prices. One last point: The TV fee of CHF 8.--/24 hours (annualized CHF 2,920.--!) is massively excessive, especially considering the minimal screen size and the inadequate image quality. Suggestion: Make the room separable with a continuous black curtain and a normal screen on the wall for each patient. Then every patient will certainly be happy to pay CHF 10 per day. In short: Lonely top! I had an outpatient procedure with general anesthesia and was well looked after by the entire team at Bethesda Hospital - from reception and support at the main entrance to the day clinic and the nurse in charge there. A special, heartfelt thank you to the dream team of nurses "Terence Hill" and "Bud Spencer" - who placed me on the bed with a lot of humor, as well as the two anesthesiologists and staff who finally sent me to dreamland. A great, friendly and fun stay from start to finish!

Sorry for my German. I gave birth to my daughter in Bethesda Hospital. The entrance and doctors were really nice and very, very friendly. Top!! After the caesarean section I was there for 4 days. The staff was mostly very friendly. On Wednesday a foreign nurse came there. I rang the bell because my daughter was crying. She came and said to me very cheekily. How do they do that at home? They're going to ring the bell like they did here. They should recognize the needs of their daughter. Then I couldn't get up because I was so strong She was in pain. She yelled at me again and told me to try to get up myself. That happened several times. Naughty, unfriendly, disrespectful. She's a midwife

I gave birth at Bethesda last month. I had a great time and felt treated like a queen. The team of midwives and lactation consultants are phenomenal. Super recommended!

The treatment in the rehabilitation station from the nursing staff and the physiotherapists was very 👍 good and friendly. The fact that the doctors couldn't help me is very bad. I can't ignore the accusation that I didn't try, because I only didn't take part in therapy twice because I was dizzy. And once I didn't eat ate because I was sick. But otherwise I was always there. That's why I think it's a shame when a patient is sent home with such pain. And I continue to struggle with the pain at home and I was accused of having suicidal intentions just because I once said that I didn't want to continue living with this kind of pain. The 4 stars are for the friendly, competent treatment for the early discharge. I give 4 minus stars

My husband and I were at Bethesda Hospital on April 19, 2021 for the planned cesarean birth of our son. The preliminary examinations were always flawless and the midwives and doctors as well as the nurses were always super nice and competent. We were warmly welcomed on the day of the caesarean section and our family room was simply fantastic with a beautiful view of the park. The cesarean section itself was wonderful for me. I had a pleasant and painless epidural, the two anesthesiologists were very competent and really nice. Both of them took away my brief panic and accompanied me really well, even holding hands :0) The fact that my husband was with me the whole time and that we were able to experience this wonderful moment of birth together was indescribable. A big compliment to the entire surgical team. The doctors did a great job and I had almost no symptoms after just 3 days. The nursing staff and midwives were also very courteous and always ready to help. We were looked after touchingly and attentively. At this point, a big compliment to the midwives and the nursing team! Special thanks go to the lovely night nurses who helped us a lot at night when our little man got a little louder :0) The room service left nothing to be desired and we were well catered for with delicious vegan dishes. To this day we still can't stop raving about it. Our stay was really fantastic and we would love to give it 10 stars! I can only recommend this hospital. Many thanks again to the entire team for this great birth experience.

Staying in the maternity hospital ward was worse than my cesarean section and the pain that followed. Every nurse said something different about breastfeeding and was sometimes told why I was doing it like that (as her colleague had actually shown me?!!!). Had no desire or energy to discuss. But the worst thing was the shaking interns. How do they deal with them that they seem to be so afraid? I was really sorry.. What's wrong with you?? These 3 stars go to the doctor, the anesthesiologist and the rest of the team who were involved in my cesarean section. (Actually should have earned 5 and the station minus 1).

Ich habe mich für meine zweite Geburt nochmals für das Bethesda Spital entschieden, aus dem einzigen Grund, dass ich von meiner Hebamme Yvonne Engler, bei der Geburt begleitet werde. Aufgrund meiner Erfahrungen aus meiner ersten Geburt im Bethesda Spital wollte ich nie wieder etwas mit diesem Spital zu tun haben. Ich hatte die schlimmste (für mich) Erfahrung. Bei meiner ersten Geburt wurde mir nachdem die Fruchtblase bereits 24 std geplatzt ist die künstlichen Wehen gesetzt, weil die natürlichen Wehen nicht einsetzten. Die künstlichen Wehen haben mich ausgeknockt sie waren so stark, dass ich auch Stunden danach nicht aufging. Nachdem ich 2 cm offen war wurde mir die PDA nicht nur empfohlen sondern es war die einzige Möglichkeit (so wurde mir mitgeteilt). Der Anästesist mit 8 Jahre Erfahrung und leitender Position konnte die PDA nicht legen. Mir wurde 12 Mal in den Rücken gestochen und die PDA konnte nicht gelegt werden. Es wurde gegen Kochen gestossen etc. Es war ein unglaublich schreckliches Gefühl zumal man auch sehr still liegen muss die ganze Zeit, was ich natürlich auch tat damit es so schnell wie möglich vorbei war. Es lief alles schief ein Bein wurde betäubt während die Schmerzen, die Wehen, und das andere Bein spührbar waren. Die PDA wurde zum Schluss, wo es hiess nun sässe sie, auch noch falsch gelegt. Kurz darauf wurde mir ein Opiat gespritzt und ich habe davon einen Horrortrip und noch nie so eine schreckliche Erfahrung in meinem ganzen Leben machen müssen. Yvonne Engler ist eine super Hebamme, die unter anderem auch Geburtshypnose anwendet. Ich habe mich durch das Trauma der ersten Geburt an sie gewendet und für die Geburtshypnose entschieden um keinerlei Zusatzmittel brauchen zu müssen und natürlich zu gebären. Nur wegen ihr habe ich mich für das Bedhesta Spital entschieden und ich bin ihr unglaublich dankbar, da die zweite Geburt wunderschön war!!!!

War sehr unzufrieden mit der 1. Hebamme(name weiss ich leider nicht mehr). Es war meine erste Geburt. Als ich mit 2 minuten takt wehen ins spital kam, schicke man mich wieder nach Hause obwohl ich eine stunde weg hatte. Als ich dann 3 stunden später mit enorm starken wehen wieder kam, meinte die gleiche Hebamme, das ich ne PDA machen solle und hat es wie ein gummibär packung mit verkauft. Als mein mann nachfragte was denn die nebenwirkungen sei, sagte man uns "nur ein bissien kopfschmerzen hätte man". Als die PDA entlich wirkte, war ich für 2 stunden weck und bekamm kaum noch was mit von dem drubel was dann geschah. Als ich wieder bei mir war, gab eine schicht wechsel und eine sehr sympatische Hebamme war da. Sie fand es unmöglich das man mir ne PDA gemacht hatte obwohl ich nur 1 cm offen war. Der Drubel war deshalb weil mein baby plötzlich Herzkreislauf probleme bekam und die ärzte sich schon überleten eine kaiserschnitt zu machen, was aber zum glück nicht geschah. Der kleine kam schlussentlich mit der saugglocke zur welt. Durch die PDA habe ich immer noch problem... ich habe enorme rücken schmerzen und kann kaum noch laufen...... Die erste 1.
