Good but really really expensive!

Honestly a little on the side... Really expensive for what it is. A spill arrived cold for almost 6.- and salads for almost 30.- Brunch concept which is not one since there are no various choices, it is more of a dinner. On the other hand, it was good and the welcome was friendly, but clearly much too expensive for the products offered.

A very friendly place. Except pancakes they are able to offer everything gluten free. They are very knowledgeable. Great food, great atmosphere.

Excellent food (breakfast, hamburger, drinks) and very welcoming service. I love going there in the morning with baby, it's quiet and even for lunch they always find a little space for the stroller 🥰

A great place to brunch at any time and any day of the week in Lausanne. The portions are generous. Lots of varieties of milk possible for your cappuccino or latte. The setting is pleasant. Booking is recommended :)

Well located in the city center of Lausanne, perfect for a little coffee and a treat. Note that the kitchen closes at 2 p.m. and in the afternoon they only make pancakes or serve slices of carrot cake or homemade cookies.

I like the dishes offered but unfortunately the service is always very slow (some of them are not very pleasant, you have to be lucky). The 25 minute wait just to take the order is a bit long for lunch. My hot drink and hot meal arrived cold.

Too bad, very good food but unfortunately DISHONEST establishment which offers delivery via Smood and which does not want to deliver to its customers because I quote "they don't want to this evening" by therefore allowing themselves to cancel orders already paid for. I would like to point out that the order was placed before 7 p.m. and that the kitchens open at 6 p.m.

Nice little restaurant in ideally located in the middle of Lausanne. The brunches are famous, but sadly one cannot enjoy something simpler in a Saturday morning. I would have just taken a pastry (croissant or else), but was told they do not serve pastry on weekends! That's quite a shame and simplier solution than a brunch are very limited. The place is crowded and you need to reserve on weekends. Otherwise, the ambiance is very relaxed and the food is good.

Good time with the family for brunch!

2 years ago it was full plates, I don't know what changed but it was ridiculous. For 17CHF two slices of sandwich bread with salmon (tiny) with coleslaw… and if you want scrambled eggs you have to pay 2CHF more. It pissed me off to pay for this “brunch” I should have eaten at home loool.

Great address! The place is very pretty, spacious, the dishes excellent and very generous. Finally the service is also great, a big thank you to Silvia for her welcome and her kindness! We will come back soon.

Very nice place to have a brunch, the food is delicious and the place is very nice, especially on the terrasse when the sun is shinning. Service is a bit slow but nothing too bad. It's my 3rd time there. I especially love the pancake and fried chicken, not common in Europe but very popular in the USA.

I am a regular here ever since my first lovely experience over a year ago! The staff are so nice and friendly, the vibe is relaxed and intimate snd the food is delicious! Great cappuccinos, pancakes and salads! Evenings cocktails and fried chicken are excellent too

Food was good, lots of brunch items. However, service was slow and a bit surly, non-attentiveness in taking orders, food delivery, and lack of attention when plates were finished and ready to be cleared. Servers did not revisit the table to see if we needed more drinks, dessert, etc. Too bad, because is a cute place with good potential.

Really could do better. Service without energy and without enthusiasm. You are made to wait outside to get a table even though 5 are free (supposedly reserved but will never fill up). Home to review. The cards are dirty, I have to wash my hands after ordering… The kitchen is OK, it's not crazy by far but not bad either. In short, the concept and the address deserve much better than the proposal. The food is good but nothing exceptional and the service is very bad. We were served food with no cutlery, I had to go get it myself before our food turned cold...

We came for brunch. Simple reservation on the internet, be careful to reserve carefully to have a place indoors. Quiet, pleasant place, very well located. The pancakes are excellent and very nutritious (you can take your leftovers with you!). Ideal place for brunch before a day of sightseeing.

I ordered homemade cold tea with friends but unfortunately it was not up to par and even a little disappointing to be honest :( A friend had the brownie which was very hearty although a little dry. We arrived there around 2:30 p.m. and easily found a place for 6 and the service was quick and efficient! It was sometimes a little noisy because there is the road just below but it didn't bother us that much. Overall I would say that it was an ok experience but I think we could have found better. Our experience is only based on the drinks and the brownie but not for the dishes. Let's see if it's better in the evening!

Good food, but it loses the oriental spirit and taste of Indian spices

I enjoyed excellent burgers at this restaurant, thanks to their choice of gluten-free bread. The bread had real flavor and was really delicious. I enjoyed this experience so much that we went back the next day. And for those with intolerances, a delicious dessert awaits you: a succulent carrot cake. Remember to book if you go on the weekend.

Location very good, service okay, burger bread and patties were dry and not seasoned enough. There are better burgers there. Prices clearly too high. Burgers are also offered gluten-free.

Good food, nice place, but it takes 30 mins for the drinks to arrive and 1 hour for your “fastfood”. Its a pity, as its such a nice spot.

Great place for brunch. Tons of options for vegans and vegetarians. We got the avakado toast, quinoa salad, smoked salmon toast and pancakes. The pancake texture is very different from American pancakes and I definitely prefer their version of it. It's spongier and soaks up more sauce. Their coffee is one of the best in the area.

Great promise but disappointment. Coming for an impromptu brunch, the dish is interesting on paper, but in reality it is less so… Bread not great... cracked as if it was defrosted, bacon too toasted so dry... It made us not want to have a sweet dish In short… come back for a drink yes, to eat no…

On the other hand for me… the prices are excessive for the dishes present, the scrambled eggs are charged extra and are not incredible… the atmosphere is very pleasant, some staff are pleasant, others are not very friendly, it's the first time that I eat there but I'm disappointed, on the other hand I've already had drinks here and I've been disappointed each time by the staff... I'm not talking about the English-speaking staff who, despite the language barrier, smile and are very pleasant. I don't recommend.

I celebrated my birthday there with a small group of friends, it was awesome. Michel, the manger, was warm and welcoming, he took grate care of us. The tapas to share were on point and the drinks flavorful. Thank you Downtown team!

I went to Downtown for the afterwork with some colleagues on Thursday evening. The cocktails we picked were delicious and Raoul, the barman shared some of his tips and tricks on cocktails making! Great place, great people and perfect evening!

Expensive, small portions, not great food

Great little cafe! Food was great and coffee was on point. I had the eggs and bacon on toast. Big portions and great taste. The granola was also very good. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a familiar breakfast.

The avocado chicken burger is really good

We ordered the first option under vegetarian burgers (green man I think it was called). Although the sauce and salad in this were nice, that was all that was in it.... after it arrived and I asked about the missing veggie burger/patty that we'd assumed was in it, I was told you had to ask for that as an extra (they did then ask did i want one cooked to add, but I'd already eaten 1/4 before i realised the missing ingredient). So I then asked to be shown where it stated that on the menu as my French isn't great, I was told "oh no, it doesn't say it in the menu, you just have to ask for it". How can you do that if you don't know that you need to?? Granted, the burger patty was not listed in the description, but without it, this is just an expensive salad roll and crazy to list it under burgers!!!!

Be patient and don't be afraid of the dishonesty of this completely poorly organized team. To top it all off the food is not extraordinary

I had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast in the company of two friends. All delicious, excellent pancakes accompanied by delicious sauces. The hot drinks are also all excellent, the cream super. Very clean location and very friendly and helpful staff.

I like the place and every time I say to myself, this time it will be fine, because the place and the atmosphere are nice, but now I have decided not to come back. “Veggie hot dog” for 18 francs for a hot dog bun with 4 small balls of God knows what inside and potatoes. They have a talent at Blackbird for arrogant, unhelpful, unfriendly staff. Multiple waitresses who just make people uncomfortable.. Never again, sorry

Really good pancakes, good coffee, good burgers, and I also like their avocado toast (bondi brekki?) with eggs. It's a pleasant cozy environment inside and they also have outdoors seating.

Flawless, an original menu, which delights!

The place has nice vibes (interior, people, sun through the big windows), but the service was very bad. At first I was sitting and waiting for my menu to be brought, but nobody was even bothering to bring it to me - I had to go to the bar and ask for it. No big deal. But then again - nobody came to take the order - even though the place was half empty (Monday 10am) and the same waitress was walking around with a mug in her hands sipping her tea or coffee not even paying attention to me. Waited 15min and then I went to the bar again and ask for my order to be taken. The food and coffee arrived quite quickly, the taste was good, I additionally ordered some orange juice. And the waiter again - forgot it! No juice, no service. And I thought it would be my new place for brunch in Lausanne, however, I wouldn’t come back this place just because of the service. How is that possible to forget the same customer 3 times in a same visit?? Dissapointed.

My favorite spot in Lausanne! The room and the terrace are very pleasant, the decoration warms the soul and soothes, the service impeccable. The dishes are delicious, very good choice for brunch. A little expensive but the products and the quality of the dishes are worth it, in my opinion.

Pretty good. It's clean, the staff is nice and welcoming, it's better to book during peak hours but the time range is quite wide so it's cool you can eat on the weekend at whatever time you want. The fried potatoes are really well done and so are the hamburgers. We didn't have dessert because we weren't hungry anymore! The portions are therefore very correct. As for the ginger teas and the other with homemade red fruits, frankly meh... The chairs are not very comfortable either and some are in very good condition. Warm welcome, super friendly boss and team, the quality of the products is there, very generous. Prices are affordable. I also recommend for students the Green card is in collaboration with this establishment.

Very welcoming atmosphere and decor. Food was delicious too. Although, prices aren't great for the portion sizes. I wish the brunch menu was more than just the main dish (maybe a coffee). And, service was a bit slow on a late Friday morning, but it was busy.

I had mixed feelings about the service here. We were seated and waited at least 20 min before we could even make our order. My boyfriend had to get the attention of the waitress who walked by us many times without stopping to take our orders. When the food arrived it tasted good overall but my beans, sausage, and bacon were lukewarm. My boyfriend also noticed that some parts of his meal were a bit cold. The coffee has been good both times we went but I noticed that the presentation was not as good as the first time we went - the first time my coffee had a pretty latte swirl and this time it was all mixed up and not as pleasant looking. The service in the evening is faster than during the day. I think this place is great to grab a coffee and pastry in the afternoon but the brunch is not really worth the price.

The service at blackbird is really fantastic especially Sarah when my order unfortunately didn't go as planned. She quickly found a solution and made sure things were rectified. It's the Hallmark of great service when things don't go according to plan and finding a way to make the experience of the customer still good. So kudos :)!

I really like the atmosphere of Downtown. Dim lighting, green plants everywhere, mismatched furniture... bobo but cool! We stopped by late Saturday afternoon and found a place. The opportunity to order a hot chocolate, as sweet as I like it, and a super good vegetarian hot dog! I recommend !

We took advantage of taking a break from classes for Saturday nights and enjoyed pancakes with a hot drink. It was great. We were lucky to find space. Phew because if not the great frustration. We try to come with friends as much as possible. But not always possible. I haven't tasted everything yet but I'm looking forward to doing so. One thing after another. But already the pancakes are fabulous and that's the most important because I love them

I knew the place for Brunch but I didn't know it was great for cocktails. New menu recently put in place, really excellent but I still have a weakness for nuggets.

Super good brunch, quality products and the portions are generous. I recommend making a reservation, as it fills up quickly. Favorite for the hot chocolate with marshmallows for the very well cooked bacon

The burger was also very dry. It feels like it took a long time For a meal costing CHF 24.50, I don’t think it should be of this quality.

Went in person to book a table for 4 for Sunday's brunch. We arrive and there was no table available. They said we should have book online.... I leave it at that.

We used to frequent Blackbird for brunch but this has been our first visit since covid. Service is as good as ever but for some reason I didn't feel like the quality of food had also been maintained. Our plates arrived only luke warm with the appearance that everything had been just reheated rather than cooked to order. The coffee was just average with no real depth. Shame. Prices are average to high for Switzerland with brunch for 2 coming to CHF63.-

We were in Lausanne for the first time for the Diamond League race and had breakfast the morning after here. It’s a nice location, great vibe, super friendly staff and delicious food. You get nice morning sunlight at breakfast, too. It’s definitely a spot to visit when you’re in town. I had the Bondi which was avocado toast with eggs. And I had a cappuccino. Several with me had the breakfast burrito and were completely satiated.
