Brasserie Schiller in Zürich

Very fine food and pleasant atmosphere.

Went there for brunch on a Sunday and it was perfect! Eggs on avocado toast were on point and the service was outstanding!

Super poor service- unfriendly, slow and incompetent, i.e. not getting the order right and not even apologizing for it. It used to be much better…such a disappointment!

It was our first time at Brasserie Schiller and we were pretty disappointed. If you don't look like the paying clientele, you will be greeted unfriendly by the gentleman in a suit and glasses. Afterwards you are skillfully ignored while other guests are constantly being ensnared. The food is not special and overpriced. The gentleman in service wasn't the fastest, but he was still friendly. All in all, we don't recommend the brasserie.

Terrible service, we waited over an hour for two dishes of meat and salad. Then 20 minutes with empty plates until someone came over and we asked for the bill. Terrible service. Then we waited 10 minutes until someone came and took the number with the clothes!!!!

The food itself was tasty, the service at the table was good, the ambience was a bit loud and some of the service staff (perhaps the restaurant manager?) was unfriendly and treated guests differently. Handed jacket to a lady instead of helping her into it. For this price level you would expect a little more.

Quality of food has decreased over last visits, lunch menu special was poor quality meat and extremely fatty. Service mediocre and managment seemed apathetic to my poor dining experience. Will not be back for any business lunches again!

Good place for weekend brunch with a view to Zurich’s Opera. You can choose from Eggs Benedict to yogurt with chia or schnitzel, cocktails or coffee ;)

Chic restaurant, with an elegant appearance. Therefore I had very high expectations. Unfortunately a bit disappointed. Staff was nice. I personally didn't like the food as much. Vegetarian option was very bland and super strong. Unfortunately, price-quality was not in balance.

16:40 the three of us arrived looking forward to having an apero in the sun; after being able to find a table we waited 20 mins while a couple who arrived after us were served. Finally caught a waiter’s attention who said he was coming. 5 minutes later he came to our table looking very grumpy, no apology and actually dropped a glass bottle which sent glass splinters on to my shoe. For that he did mutter an apology but didnt clean it up. We ordered but 15 minutes later our drinks were still nowhere in sight and in the meantime our table was now in shadow and temperature was dropping as well as our patience levels. We left. In total we waited at least 40 minutes. The broken glass was still on the ground next to a heavily frequented public passageway.

Great restaurant in a beautiful location! The food is excellent and the service is very nice and accommodating. Again any time!

Lots of options and good food…But incredibly slow!!!!!! More than an hour for 2x eggs benedict and an omelette, even though there weren't that many people in the restaurant. Kitchen is a disaster!!! Old lady unfriendly, left the laughter at home, the gentleman with glasses has no idea what he has to do, employees show us that they have no idea about service. Changes are required immediately!!!

Absolute rip off! After 15 minutes at the table, the waiter asked us twice what we would like to drink. Prosecco and Aperol Spritz. Only the Aperol came, prosecco was coming, he said... after 25 minutes I went to get the prosecco myself. THE RUDE WAS THAT WE ALSO HAD TO PAY THE PROSECCO. 13 CHF FOR 2 CHF PRSECCO PLUS EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE! NAUGHTY rip-off! It would be best to avoid the place.

Haven't been to Schiller for a long time. A very nice experience today. The location is very stylish. Service was very, very good today, food too. We like the menu with the dishes, it's not really cheap but we're used to a lot in Zurich - and Zurich is moderately in line.

Cancellation occurs 1 hour before the appointment. Appointment was made 11 days ago.

Schiller is often rated incorrectly, the outdoor terrace is mentioned again and again but that's not everything, the brasserie has a lot more to offer and the fact that there is a bit of a wait on the terrace at peak times shouldn't be the reason to give it a bad rating, but I'm glad the weather is nice and enjoy the incredible location. Be happy and don't complain at a high level.☺️🤗💪

Lovely restaurant located next to the opera house and overlooking the Sechseläutenplatz. Have eaten here before and feel as if the food is not as good as it has been in the past however still nice. Service may have been a bit overwhelmed when we came so not quite attentive. Went here with a few friends .

Really posh place in a perfect location.

Unfortunately, all the dishes were bland and cooked without any finesse. You could do so much more with the house. Service was good and correct.

What a wonderful, quiet, chic and pleasant place to have lunch in busy Zurich. The prices are not even that much higher than elsewhere. We have a delicious Ceasar salad with delicious shrimps and a generous portion of mussels! Friendly professional service.

Beef cheeks with mashed potatoes. Could be a delicious meal. But the potatoes had no taste and were watery. But what's much worse are the cheeks. They would have had to stew for another hour so that they were tender. They were too hard like that. But Keller just shrugged it off. No apologies and certainly no espresso or schnapps on the house. Actually, the cakes should have been free if you think anything of his kitchen...

Had dinner with dear friends. Friendly and attentive service with a typical Brasserie style menu. The food was excellent and the wine recommended by John the Manager was superb. To be repeated. Especially in Sommer when you also can enjoy the terrace.

Very tasty food, nice atmosphere (quiet), and we were greeted twice by Mr. Rodriguez served us in service, who was so friendly and accommodating to us, a really good host who made us feel comfortable! Everything perfect!

Not worth it. The place acts as if they’re fancy, however, table service took 30 mins to even take an order from us and another 15 mins to bring the drinks (coffee and water) that were part of our order. The waiter didn’t seem to care much and they seem completely understaffed. Not sure then where this hefty price point comes from. The food (brunch) I could have easily made myself, there is nothing special on the menu that would make the place unique. On top of that, we went to Brasserie Schiller with a voucher, only for the boss to tell us we won’t get the difference between food bill and voucher back. So basically my friend paid 15 francs for nothing, because we didn’t consume enough. It’s ridiculous and the boss even tried arguing with us that no other restaurant issues new vouchers with the leftover balance. Completely untrue since I’ve seen it differently plrenty of times before. Avoid this place

Last time ai was there on a Saturday afternoon. Quick serve, food food, nice atmosphere, baby friendly.

Very nice place. The waiter was very attentive and gave us extra time without putting pressure on us to look at the menus longer. He also gave us good advice on the dishes. The customers are very friendly and talk between the tables. It's quite expensive though. Animals are accepted.

Very central location right on Sechseläutenplatz. The food tasted excellent, definitely try the chocolate mousse for dessert. The staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is nice, rather upscale. However, it gets relatively loud when the restaurant is busy.

Great location when the weather is nice. The service is overwhelmed and disorganized. Had to wait 40 minutes for drinks.

During my visit, it wasn't initially registered for over 15 minutes that I was sitting and would like to order. I am from the catering industry myself with management experience. Then I got up and left. Unfortunately, this is exactly what happened to me in many other restaurants since I moved to Zurich four months ago. In terms of gastronomy, Zurich cannot keep up with Vienna. Sorry

You cannot wait 15 min to order and 20 min to pay in a place like this (after asking 3 times). Never again. LOW service

Location ok, but in my opinion not worth it with the prices.

Rude and aggressive waiter in need of some serious rehabilitation. Non complacent staff in general.

Incorrect / additionally charged items on the invoice were complained about, the employee claimed that a refund would be made - reported by telephone after three weeks, whereupon this was disputed. To date no refund. Absolutely not trustworthy.

Passable cappuccino, too milky for my taste. Peaks aren't particularly great either. Service quick and friendly. Location great.

It was very nice and the service was great.

The service was very bad and arrogant! The waiter doesn't even know the restaurant menu! We ordered raw ham with melon. His statement was that they don't have a melon and he didn't even know it was on the menu! Then the food came but the drinks were not brought. When we asked, we were told very rudely that they were still coming. We were later told there was a lack of service staff. There are 10 waiters running around but can't manage the service! The staff visibly make fun of the complaints and laugh shamelessly in your face!!! I can't recommend anyone to go there!!! For us it was the last visit there!!

after last time waiting for ever to get our medicore food. we gave it another shot after 15min without menu or drinks we left. used to be a spot i went to regularly now dead to me

I ordered a almond milk coffe because I have problems with milk tolerance. They brought a coffe and told me it was almond. It was not. Then when I told them they start laughing as soon as I left. Asked for the bill three times then they came with the bill and told me that they made a mistake and instead of paying the 20 CHF that was on the bill, I had to pay another 6,40 CHF. Too expensive and the worst service I had ever experience. If you want to have a nice time you should avoid going there.

Egg benedict was okay. The other options such as avocado toast and scrambled eggs were small in portion size and the taste was also quite okay. Not very good experiences. We waited over 45 minutes for our brunch.

The restaurant is cool and trendy, it offers delicious food and drinks! We spent a lovely time here, the waiter Luca was super nice and qualified. We are definitely going to come back!

Restaurant very well located, next to the Opernhaus in the center and golden mile of Zürich in the Bellevue neighborhood. The service was excellent, the dishes were very delicious but specifically a ravioli dish that I ordered for my taste was a little salty, but in general the cuisine was very good. Totally recommended restaurant. The quality-price ratio fits. Of course, prepare a budget of around 110 euros. In my case I ordered 2 dishes, 2 soft drinks and a coffee. They don't charge anything for bread

Hello. I worked as a chef for Brasserie Schiller for more than 9 months. The food is mostly frozen and sometimes produced somewhere else. I resigned myself and you haven't given my tips since I resigned, regardless of the fact that you are obligated to share the tips with the employees. Prices are too expensive. The quality of food is not that high. The service is slow and unmotivated. The best point is the terrace. With good weather it looks good. It's a tourist trap. 1 star because I can't rate 0! Gross, arrogant and rude service. The waiter named Golam better change his job, he lacks greeting, kindness and passion. Ordered two simply awful spritzes with no taste and with lemon instead of orange. Total chaos inside the restaurant with angry customers getting up and leaving due to the waiters' mistakes. It's a shame for such a central and nice place. Never again!

Located next to the Operahaus in Zurich, near the bridge and the Bellevue tram stop, this establishment has still the art deco inside and in the summer people can sit outside under the giant parasols. Because it is connected to the new underground parking, there's an element of somewhat, not maximized empty space in front of the visitor. The food are recommendable but be aware the prices are not on the low side.

It takes a lot of patience until you get something to drink and can finally pay. The prices… for two wheat beers 4 dl each and some parmesan an impressive CHF 26.40…

Nicely located, well attended, a little understaffed

This place is expensive and incompetent. We went to have drinks and apps around 2pm on their patio. They didn't have tuna tartare as it is only for the dinner menu. Fine but this seems like a healthy item to add to the snacks menu. After they sat us down, they made us move citing a reservation. Why didn't they know this before seating us? If you are going to have a reservation system like this you need to update it and keep it current. Slightly annoying but not impossible to move. The main issue is 3 times I had to order my gin and soda. The first time there was either dark grounds or dirt in the glass. It was in a normal glass and not a round glass. Second they brought me the same setup and the soda was flat. We had to "argue" with the waiter in Spanish about the necessity of gas for the water for the drink. Really? 3rd time we specified to put in a round high glass and finally it was delivered with a wrapped cumcumber and club soda. They charged us 20 Swiss francs for my drink and offered no discount. Go elsewhere this service is terrible.

For credit card payments under 20.-- 2.-- additionally... If we hadn't had to pay immediately, there would certainly have been more drinks, but that's how we left. There are a few other cool bars in the area.

They do eveything to rip you off! So please watch all items on your Bill First at the Bar, they charged a bottle of Champagne more expensive than the one we ordered (chf 50 more) it is good that we noticed Then we had dinner and in the bill there was a bottle of wine for CHf 89 that we did not order or drink They said it was a mistake but twice in the same evening !! What a coincidence

It's a cool and trendy restaurant that offers delicious food! The quality of the food and service is consistently great. It's a perfect place for casual business lunches but also if you want to have a nice dinner with your partner or your girlfriends. The location is amazing since it's in walking distance from the train station Stadelhofen and it's very close by the tram station "Bellevue" which connects you to so many parts of Zürich. I will definitely come back!

Owner is extremely rude to customers, especially if you are a younger generation! A shame because the other servers were all great!

It's a shame about the beautiful location, but we will never come back. According to the homepage, warm food is supposed to be available until 11 p.m. - we arrive after the opera at 10:10 p.m., mind you, with a confirmed table reservation - and we are told that the kitchen is already closed. An unspeakable impudence! Of course we didn't accept the table offered at the deserted bar because we wanted to have dinner in the restaurant. That's no way to treat customers because you'll lose them. Now it's happened.

I am waiting to be served since 20min and my water took another 10min. Unfriendly service and very very slow. Great location though, but still the staff should step on it.

No 1 star rating has been given yet, but in this case it has to be. The behavior of the employees towards the guests is unacceptable. We wanted to have a drink outside. The order wasn't taken for a long time and when it finally was, it arrived incorrectly. Only one drink was correct and the other or the correct drink was only brought (no exaggeration) after a 25 minute wait. Waiter was stroppy, disinterested and then claimed we hadn't waited. Occupancy on the terrace was medium - so the long time cannot be due to the stress of the staff. Staff overall very unfriendly and many of them just stand there - and if you look at the comments here over the past few weeks, what happened to us is not an isolated phenomenon. It's a shame because the location is nice.

The prices are very high. As an example, a soft drink (apple spritzer, cola, etc.) costs 7.-. The table (tablecloth) was dirty and the ashtray that was standing there smelled disgusting. The veggie tarte flambée was a bit overbaked and was very difficult to eat with all the rocket and cherry tomatoes, it was missing some creme fraiche and a little spice. The avocado salad was an extremely small portion, definitely only recommended as a starter and not for those who are slightly hungry.

I was in the bar a month ago and was thrilled with the food and the service. We were looked after very courteously. Today I was outside and of course I immediately recognized the waiter. Today he was also indescribably polite and served me exceptionally well. You could really tell that he enjoys his job. He kept asking if everything was okay. He also took great care to keep the white wine chilled (with a stylish ice bag!) and so he refilled it several times. The tarte flambée was also very tasty. Getting a crisp white fabric set and an equally white fabric napkin outside is actually wonderful. There was even a glass with ice cubes to go with the mineral water. What more do you want? I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Schiller where I can let Mr. Rodriguez really pamper me. I really enjoyed this hour today. Thank you very much Mr. Rodriguez!

The best clinic ever. Very polite and professional service.

Miss Dr. med. Kisner has been my family doctor for 5 years. The amazing thing here is that I get appointments quickly. She is also a specialist in surgery and has a great team. I am treated competently here. The MPA is excellent at taking blood. I'm used to having to be pricked 2 to 3 times with an ultrasound device. For her it's quick and painless. Personally, I consider Ms. Kisner to be a highly intelligent, knowledgeable and humorous doctor. There are certain people who consider her to be impersonal and even arrogant, which is not my impression. She stays true to herself, speaks her mind and takes a pragmatic approach. Not everyone can handle it. In terms of costs, my iron infusion was comparatively cheaper than other places in Zurich. The waiting room has a pleasant atmosphere with tea and coffee on offer, inviting you to linger. However, the waiting time is short. I'm used to something different at many doctor's offices. Staying yourself is difficult in this day and age. She masters her authenticity. I really value her advice regarding my holistic recovery.

I am very disappointed with the outside service. We didn't even get a menu and weren't served despite asking. The staff even looked at us disparagingly several times and sometimes just stood around instead of serving us. Luckily the staff at the bar next door are friendly.

The terrace is a pleasure during the summer period. Varied menu with service whose quality has nothing to envy of the brasserie of the same name. Given the location and reputation of the establishment, not necessarily for all budgets unfortunately.

It's best not to give a star at all. Ordered a Caffe Freddo and received dirty water. When I reported this back I was laughed at. In the end I had to pay for it too. Conclusion: bad products and bad staff.

Great brasserie in Zurich, especially outside in summer

Outside, on the plaza inf front of the opera is lovely on a summer day. Inside is also a classic. The daily menus are reasonable value and are well prepared. The only issue: on a sunny day, outside the service is a bit slow.

The place is nice and the dish was tasty but the service really needs improvement. We had to wait half an hour until our bill finally came to be paid and when we asked we received a cheeky answer. I actually remembered it differently.

The reservation got messed up. I understand that there are staff shortages everywhere, but when I book a table for eating at 10pm I really want to know ahead of time that only outdoors table will be served. Luckily the night was not too chilly. The food was good but nothing remarkable. Still giving three stars instead of two because the waiter was super attentive and very friendly. He took his time to check up on us and have a friendly chat inspite of having fully booked tables on a Friday night. Really great job on his part and this is what makes me come back and try again.

Schiller is actually a beautiful place to eat/drink something 1. Service very unfriendly and overwhelmed. 2. We were informed that it was starting to rain. However, there were only clouds in the sky that did not empty. Nevertheless, we were informed that the terrace would be closed. 3. After we changed seats, it was said (if you change seats you have to wait longer) 4. Then we got the brunch menu at 7:25 p.m 5. After asking again, we finally got the correct card and we were able to order after 40 minutes. As customers, we absolutely did not feel well served. The service is not at all value for money.
