Absolutely deserved Michelin Star !!! I was incredibly lucky as i just walked in to this Restaurant and got a table that someone cancelled last minute . From the entrance i have been greeted in a very warm and welcoming way by the front of the house , the open kitchen the Chefs working there the ambience of the interior were just perfect all the little details are just right from the very beginning. After i have been sat at my table my drink selection was recognised very smoothly with a professional manner the tasting menu expirience was explained so i just sat back and got excited about my oncoming night of indulgence. I will not spoil the dishes here so You can be surprised when You get there but i can only say that everything i have been served that night was absolutely divine. The dishes were all manufactured from scratch in the house from locally sourced ingredients and also using some very exotic yet sustainable bits from other countries. I have tried many dishes in my life from all sorts of world cousine styles yet 2 out of 6 dishes served to me that night absolutely blew my mind . Everything that was served to me was explained sparing no details about the heretige of the dish its ingredients and method used to make it , fully professional expirience, and in the same time giving a very friendly and warm service. Lastly after this Beautiful expirience The Chef will send You out with a little individual small talk and last suprise nibble to top Your already one of a kind expirience. Everything was just perfect. Thank You i hope i will have the chance to be there again !!!

Top ! Very creative dishes with the courage to create unusual creations, always refreshing, never sought after. This is how modern fine dining works today: no old-fashioned white tablecloths, open kitchen, uncomplicated atmosphere, small tables and lots of fresh charm. Very professional and warm service. A great experience - a real enrichment of Zermatt's gastronomic offerings! Keep it up - we're already looking forward to the next time.

Michelin Star restaurants often fill me with trepidation. I find them formal and fussy. Well I can tell you now that Brasserie Uno is neither! The restaurant is warm, welcoming, rustic and tasteful. You immediately feel comfortable. Then there's the food. Although beautifully presented on charming crockery, it doesn't feel forced and the passion of the chefs comes through perfectly when each dish is explained. Really inventive menu, full of delicious flavours all locally and sustainably sourced. It didn't feel rushed and the wine pairing was out of this world. We tried some amazing wines lovingly handpicked by the team. An absolutely wonderful experience - it must be hard work making it all seem so laid back! Hats off to Andreas and the crew. Michelin Star and Green Star more than well deserved. Photos don't do it justice which is also testament to the fact that the lighting in the restaurant is not designed for Instagrammable shots for influencers, but for warmth and ambience!

Inventive, unique, and an amazing experience. As someone who is a fan of “fine dining” and Michelin Restaurants they at times can get stale or all feel the same. However, at Brasserie Uno this was opposite. Every plate was unique and creative. There were bites and combinations that I hadn’t experienced and frankly blew away many other Michelin restaurants we have been to. The service was also amazing, we felt incredibly welcomed and a part of the family, something you rarely feel at a Michelin Restaurant. I can’t recommend Brasserie Uno enough and look forward to making a return one day. This is a must book location on your trip to Zermatt!

Fun experience, a bit noisy and difficult to understand the waitress. The experience was fun and good presentation good. The places where the food comes from are unique. But nobody told us that doing wine paring would cost even more than the food. 950 CHF 3 people, I would have expected more. Other Michelin star restaurants in Zermatt were more worth it.

Amazing experience!!! Impeccable and warm service, extraordinary cuisine and cozy atmosphere. I recommend. Small downside, the colors of the dishes are not highlighted enough by the plates with dark patterns (yes, yes I know I'm complaining but at CHF 500.- the menu for two with wines, I'll allow myself 😉).

I'd recommend this restaurant over any other I've ever been to. My dinner here on 2023/12/13 was one of my most memorable meals, combining the signature precision, invention and craft of fine dining with the care and authenticity you'd find in a special home-cooked meal and the safety and relaxed environment of a low-key Thanksgiving potluck at a friend's Brooklyn apartment. The food, their farm-to-table surprise menu, managed to cover a lot of ground. It brought back flavors and memories, like with the flavorful aguachiles (served, if memory serves, on the crispiest but sturdy tostada, a perfect match for the dish's zest). I remember a variety of thoughtful & unabashed flavors in each dish, and of course the textures were all precise and complementary. I unfortunately didn't believe in taking pictures of food at the time I had this meal, but I remember it all being well-presented and really showing off its ingredients, with pleasant color combinations. The service felt especially personable. I remember hearing more wine lore than I've ever encountered elsewhere- learning about not only the flavors and feel of the wine, as well as the regions of origin, but little details like the family dynamics and cultivation strategies of the vineyard owners. It felt like each wine, each coffee bean had been handpicked through a personal bond the restaurant staff had forged with some hidden gem artisans they'd come across in long searches. Each meal came with more detail than usual (even by fancy fine-dining standards) about its sourcing, intentions, backstory, etc. The ambience also felt comforting, really inviting. The music felt accessible- Black Keys, Foster The People; apparently it's a personal collaborative Spotify playlist. The kitchen had the rhythms and flow you'd expect of consummate professionals, but it also seemed to have a certain lightness to it. The lighting and setup felt cozy, warm, a perfect complement to the wide open white mountains nearby. The whole restaurant felt like it was set up to remind us that the more serious, passionate, and determined we are, the more crucial it is that we relax and enjoy ourselves. Everything at least tasted and felt like the people who made it had a lot of fun making it, if that makes any sense; it had the charm of disinhibition. It made me rethink my life a little. Even now when I think of my dining here I feel an energizing contentment. I'm really happy I ate here, and I think this restaurant is going to be as much a reason for my future Zermatt visits as the incredible skiing. If you're reading this review and on the fence, and *especially* if you're a fan of farm-to-table or just unpretentiousness as a concept, in my eyes this restaurant adds as much to a Zermatt trip as the Matterhorn.

We visited Brasserie Uno during the off-season in Zermatt. The warm atmosphere drew us in one night as we were walking to our hotel, and we decided we needed to try the place. Luckily, there was a reservation available for the next evening. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly by Andreas, the owner/maitre d'/server, who took our coats and showed us to our tables. We had learned from their website that the menu was supposed to be a surprise 6-courses, but what we were served was an 8-course wonder. Luis, the amazing chef, stopped by our table a few times throughout the meal to chat and share his ideas about each dish. Andreas also guided us on our journey, talking about the origination of many of the ingredients (most of which were grown/harvested from within the surrounding valley) and the ethos of the restaurant (to create good food and serve great wine that are both truly local and sustainable). Overall, it was one of the best culinary experiences of our lives. As this meal was on the first leg of our honeymoon, it will also serve as a great shared memory for the rest of our lives.

Very very slow service, the entire menu took over 3h30 and we definitely were among the table served the fastest towards the end as we showed we were keen to wrap things up. There is no kitchen there, just a counter where they assemble dishes rather than cooking them. Very questionable Michelin star, not sure what the Michelin guide reviewer drank that night, but must have impaired his/her judgement. Very expensive as well, which is another downside as the night was very underwhelming.

First visit was by myself in Sep 2021 and it left very good memories. Just visited again for Dec 2023 with two persons. Took on the surprise tasting menu with the wine pairings. The food was fantastic! Beautifully presented with local ingredients. But the flavour of some of the plates was just extraordinary. Highlight for me was a play on Mexico with fish “tacos” and a shrimp ceviche. Also a highlight for me was a beef tartare on a mousse of Jerusalem artichokes with truffles and some homemade foccacia. The vegan chocolate dessert was also exceptional especially the mousse. Get ready for a mix of flavours from all over the world. Service was exemplary. Wonderful multilingual chefs and owner who are very pleasant and clearly work well as a team. Ambiance was very cozy and casual. Price wise was very reasonable, just remember the drinks aren’t included :)

Is a lovely little place. Our group really loved the food. The only downfall is the time it takes dishes to come out. Sometimes a 40 minute wait. They also pour the wine before the meal arrives, therefore end up drinking most of it before the dish. Strange to bring the wine first as then don't explain wine pairing - normally how it is done in this level of resturant. It resulted in most guests leaving very drunk. I don't know if that is what one wants in a fine dining experience. The whole meal took over four hours.

I don't like leaving a bad review, but I gotta be honest, the food was 1/5. Please read their reviews on Tripadvisor before visiting this place. I hope this is just me, or the course they were serving that night only, cuz even the table next to me agreed with me during our dinner. I've been to many fine dining establishments, and this restaurant's one Michelin star was questionable. The plates were very creative, which is hard to come by, and maybe that's where the Michelin star is from, but to me, the food needs to be edible at least, and the food here was not. I don't know how even the thought of putting a Madeline, pork, and berries together came up, but I had to return it after one bite. (And why the caviar tin when there is no caviar?) 5 out of 6 plates were like this. I didn't finish anything, I could not, because none of them tasted good. I was honestly so lost. When other tables said, "this is... interesting" on the plates, I thought interesting was a compliment, it's like toying with foods, and you shouldn't. Either I have no taste, or people were pretending to enjoy them because the restaurant has a Michelin star. The bread and butter were great, though. I wish I hadn't gone here; I wasted a dinner opportunity I could have had elsewhere.

Nice atmosphere but unfortunately food and service left much to be desired. I work in the service industry and it pains me to write reviews like this but... While the dishes had a little creation they lacked good execution. 1/3 were 1* worthy, service was kind but the wine pairing came with no explanation of why we were drinking it with the dish and came on average 10-20mins before we ate the dish. Finally, I've ate at a couple green Michelin stars and don't understand why this one had one. Sorry but this isn't a 1* I'd like to add the wine was very good despite it's lack of relation to the dishes.

Overpriced. Not worth the money. We spend over $1,000 CHF for a price fix menu with wine pairing for a party of four. We have traveled the world and have been to many amazing restaurants and tis is NOT one of them. Portions were very small and the main dishes had no flavor. We had to add salt to them to give it some flavor and that shouldn’t happen when you are eating at a Michelin Star restaurant. So many other amazing restaurants in Zermatt that we have eaten at during our two week stay at half the price. Very disappointing. Would not recommend.

Casual fine dining of a special kind. Unfortunately, there is no question of fine dining when the background noise is like that in an American bar during a football game. We were completely dazed by the noise. Normal conversation was not possible. The various courses were partly well prepared, but partly also very intentional. We wonder what the Michelin testers ate. Last but not least, the service was friendly and engaging. But unfortunately that is by no means enough for a repeat visit.

A few words to sum up our visit to one of Zermatt's many restaurants: Creativity, joy, surprise, genuine, sustainable, loving. Our visit was so much more than just a restaurant visit - it was an overall experience beyond the ordinary. Wonderfully good dishes in a tasting menu with exciting flavors and combinations. Good mix of meat and vegetarian dishes. Can't single out any of the dishes as a favorite. Everything was so good! Completely different flavors but a perfect combination. Much of the flavoring was taken from the nature around Zermatt and the gardens of the chefs and the owner. We were told that there is a big focus on raw materials from the local area and that there should be as little waste as possible. Sat for nearly three hours and enjoyed the good food, wine, music and lovely conversations. Was very well looked after by the staff. Fairly large premises where the interior design, the way the dishes were served, the buzz from the other guests and the proximity to the open kitchen gave a nice luxurious home feeling. Impressed by the way the staff prepared and presented the dishes and you could feel their pride in their restaurant.

Our first visit in 2020 to this restaurant dazzled us, a symphony of the senses, explosions of flavors, originality of the associations... I recommended it to all my friends because I was so delighted! With very good feedback! Back in the resort this month of August 2022 we went back and the, huge disappointment, if the products used were certainly organic, seasonal and local none of the 4 dishes really pleased us... It was bland and disappointing… (fragola sarda meh, a fillet of smoked pike perch but which had no flavor… The meat was good but without originality…!) I can't say it wasn't good, it was just uninteresting , as if the chef was absent! The service was really nice and perfect but I didn't have any pleasure and it's a shame because it was really a joy to come back here! They are VERY nice and they even put a candle because I had specified that it was for a birthday... But the soft lychee mousse with the tasteless Prosecco sorbet really didn't convince us! It seems that there are ups and downs and I would like to understand why sometimes it is extraordinary and sometimes we leave there having paid 260.- a 2 and saying to ourselves that we would have preferred to eat elsewhere!… If anyone can explain it to me I would be delighted!

In Zermatt, very close to the center but away from the hustle and bustle of tourists, there is a top-class casual fine dining brasserie with a discreet appearance. The interior is simple, partly rustic and therefore full of charm. There is no à la carte service here, but there is an extremely creative 4-course menu, which can also be ordered vegan or vegetarian in advance. The wine accompaniment, with predominantly local wines from Valais, is excellently chosen for each course. We were more than just pampered here with culinary delights of a very high standard, we were in gourmet heaven. Phenomenal. Our entire family of 4 agreed that it was the best meal we've had in a long time, which includes meals from SF Bay Area, Boston, NYC and Switzerland. The chef's choice concept is very well done here - you tell them what you need to avoid (like allergies or severe dislikes) and they will make reasonable adjustments. For example, my son is allergic to fish so they made a similar preparation with a vegetable. If you are a really picky eater don't come here because you have to trust them... I didn't bother listing Beets as something I wanted to avoid (I generally dislike them), and yet the Beet dish we had was probably one of the best items of the evening. The staff is wonderful and the ambiance really IS on the slightly nicer side of casual. Anyone not dressed like a slob will feel perfectly at home.

I agree and appreciate their concept. The place is atypical and full of retro charm. The service is impeccable and attentive. The young cook, Mexican, presented the dishes to us kindly in Spanish. Honestly, it was a real taste pleasure. The superbly well presented dishes, with unique and original flavors, pleasantly surprised us. A delight from start to finish. It was an excellent evening. I particularly recommend it to those who like to be surprised.

Creativity at its finest. They prepared a vegetarian four course dinner without relying on the typical staples - instead incorporating local, seasonal ingredients. Worth spending an evening here while in Zermatt.

A really wonderful casual fine dining restaurant where everything is right, from the ambience to the service to the food. The vegan menu (89 CHF) was great, very creative, extraordinary ideas, great taste. The two of us paid a total of 280 CHF with a wine accompaniment, cocktails and a tip. There are only two things that are a bit annoying: the very strong smell of roasted meat that occasionally wafts from the open kitchen, which doesn't necessarily suit the aisle you're sitting at (especially since it's vegan - a better extractor hood might be a better option?). And the playlist should be longer, songs repeat themselves more often. But the two points don't change the deserved 5⭐ for the love that the small team puts into the food and the work, and we would be happy to come back at any time.

Brasserie uno was an amazing place, the food was spectacular and really amazing too. The details the chef put into the food and how the food combines together was fantastic as well. The staff was very knowledgeable about the dishes and wines being served to us! The dessert was spectacular too, the way they served ‘breakfast’ as a dessert! (Tastes like what you’d have for breakfast but in a dessert) Loved that it was a chef’s menu and a surprise menu for us too! Definitely a must visit if you are in Zermatt!

Very pleasant atmosphere and extremely friendly service. The cuisine is ambitious and experimental, but we found some of the “compositions” not entirely successful. In the end, the price of 190 francs per person including wine accompaniment seemed too high for us.

Prix fixe only. Approximately 3 hour affair. Lovely wait staff. Price is >100CHF pp. Food seems to target "interesting" in its flavor combination. Recommend the house made flavored butter and duck confit tostada. Restaurant has very limited seating so a reservation is a must.

We entered the Brasserie Uno with great anticipation - and left the restaurant a little disappointed... The culinary experience wasn't bad, but for the most part it wasn't particularly special either. Some dishes were quite harmonious, other dishes were surprisingly banal... Unfortunately, the sequence of courses was extremely poorly timed: two snacks/starters in the first ten minutes, two desserts in the last ten minutes - and two and a half hours in between for four small courses. Other guests could hardly wait until they could finally leave. The price/performance ratio has also suffered with the steep increase from 99 to 129 CHF per person, even if the menu is still not completely overpriced. The wine list offers interesting options; Conversely, the wine pairing was disappointing and, in my opinion, not particularly well matched to the menu. A single glass of wine (1 dl) costs 14 CHF, for which you get two glasses of good wine even in Findeln. The owner is very friendly and hard-working, the rest of the staff are professional, but (too) focused on sales and quite impersonal. Last but not least, the restaurant had very tight seating, which is not appropriate in the current pandemic situation. Unfortunately, this experience at Brasserie Uno doesn't justify another visit, what a shame!

Interesting experience. Some dishes were really good. Others were a little average. Wine pairing had some nice wines but didn’t feel they matched with the food (particularly the timing of when they were paired) overall good experience but didn’t feel it quite flowed as an overall tasting experience

Short and sweet. One of the best evenings in a very long time. Food, service, ambience all 5 stars. The wine pairing with the menu was excellent! Nothing for the small budget but the price/performance ratio was more than right for us. The culinary highlight in Zermatt. Any time

The is the second review. I kept the old one for reference. The place follows a tasting menu system now, I kind of preferred the old menu as it had lots of amazing items. The prices are a bit hefty now especially with wine pairing. The waiter even skipped one out of four rounds. The deserts can be improved and the place was a bit noisy. The waiting time is a bit stretched as well 3 hours for 6 course meal. This is why I give stars. The tasting menu might be appealing for many, actually the mains were good, I just preferred the generous old menu. I would recommend that you try this place and take note of the points listed above old review: Ouuffff. The food is very good. Started with the tartar, was one of the best we ever had. The lobster ravioli was so rich and flavorful. The reindeer stake was the star of the show. Needless to mention, the meatballs brought comfort to our bodies and smiles to our faces. What is most important is the dedication of the people that works here. Five stars well deserved and wish the place the best for the future. Thanks Andrea for great service, the guy took the time with us as if we were the only one at the village. And the place was packed. Thank you again

Restaurant Uno was such a nice little find! I am always on the lookout for family owned, local restaurants and this one did not disappoint. With a set menu with some unique twists, there is no way you will leave hungry. Reserve your table in advance!

We had dinner at Brasserie Uno to start the new year (January 1st) and it was a big disappointment. There is definitely an attempt to be creative but it fails to translate into a tasty experience. A couple of the dishes were poorly seasoned and executed. It just felt like the chefs were trying too hard to be special at the expense of proper tastes. The portions were also small and my son left the restaurant hungry and ready for another meal. The prices (e.g. 14 francs for a small glass of Petite Arvine) were really high for the experience. Overall I will definitely give Brasserie Uno a miss during our next visit to Zermatt.

Our first night in Zermatt and we discovered this incredible restaurant. It had many positive reviews but our experience surpassed the most positive of those we read. The unique offerings were all amazing and the portions were perfect so as not get overly full. The pace of each offering was also perfect so we could enjoy each one along with enjoying our bottle of wine. Their wine list provided many excellent possibilities at reasonable prices. Upon reflection, we felt that their food was as good as we’ve ever experienced around the world. If in Zermatt, do not miss this gem. Cheers!

Attentive and friendly staff on arrival. The 5 course menu is diverse, well thought through and well executed. Upon reservation I put a note about dietary restrictions (pregnancy) which was respected in the 5-course menu without having to mention it again at arrival. The replacement dishes for my pregnant partner were delicious so there was no compromise on taste/quality. Overall, great team, great concept and absolutely delicious food. Highly recommend this gem, definitely coming back. Note that you can see the chefs cooking which I personally found appealing. Pace between dishes is spot on for our taste. Also recommend the wine pairing.

After a busy day and great hike, our family went to Brasserie Uno this evening for their fixed plate (5 courses) dinner. One of our family members cannot eat gluten, dairy or egg, so she often has to compromise while the rest of us enjoy our meals. Not so at Brasserie Uno. Every plate was carefully and deliciously prepared, beautifully plated and perfectly timed. Every staff member was focused on making sure their carefully planned and choreographed dinner came off perfectly and that everyone enjoyed the unique combinations of flavour and texture and colour. What some restaurants consider food complications were instead opportunities for this kitchen to show off its talent. This was one of the best meals we have ever enjoyed anywhere. A trip to Switzerland isn’t complete without a trip to Zermatt. And a trip to Zermatt isn’t complete without a dinner at Brasserie Uno. Thank you again - we’ll be back. The restaurant was busy, so book your dinner when you book your stay.
