Brauhaus in Winterthur

Went there for the first time a few days ago because we heard so many good things. Unfortunately, the meat on the burger was a bit burnt and, together with the bagel, it was rather impractical to eat. The remaining menus were okay in terms of taste, but unfortunately nothing more. It was very simply presented, without any frills, which made all the dishes, apart from the burger, look pretty bland. The waitress tried to be friendly, but was either stressed or somewhat annoyed and couldn't quite hide it. A pity! It's okay for a visit to see it, but nothing more, apart from the beer selection, I don't understand all the hype about this place.

Our Sofran is the soul there. Great beer, great food and the place is just great.

Reserved for February 23rd - 7:00 p.m. and the table was ready. The menu offers something not so usual and the food is really well prepared. The beer specialties are extensive, I had the “normal light” and it tasted fantastic. The hit of the evening was our service "angel": I have never been served so friendly, courteous, respectful and humorous. I felt really, really comfortable. The prices prevented the .star from being awarded, unfortunately. Nevertheless we will come back!

Delicious food that you can't find everywhere (e.g. beer goulash, very good) - fine beers, mostly from our own brewery - very friendly and courteous staff - easy online reservation - definitely worth a recommendation.

Was there for the first time today. The beer and food were delicious, the service was very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. I can therefore only recommend it.

Had the bagel burger and was extremely disappointed. The meat was edible but stuck out several inches on either side of the bagel which is just not practical. The bagel is simply far too small to be able to eat the whole thing in any way. The bagel also tasted like a pretzel and simply ruined the taste of the “burger”. You could have saved yourself the extra cheese and bacon as there was little of it on my “burger”. Simply an embarrassing dish for this proud price. The fries weren't really convincing either.

Nice location, fine food, great beer

Among other things, I ordered the seasonal beer “Schneeflöckli” Unfortunately, the advertised taste, cinnamon and ginger, couldn't be remotely guessed at. It's a shame......but maybe we as Appenzellers are a bit spoiled by the Locher beer.

As an overall impression, we really recommend this place in Winterthur, lively and entertaining. The burgers we enjoyed were specially prepared, fine - but unusual in terms of expectations. Great fries. Service was friendly, people changed often over the course of about 3 hours. It's just annoying when you have to wave to order or pay for something... but... the charm made everything better :-).. I'll be back

Brunch a discretion with beer for a fair price.

Great restaurant with a lot of flair and delicious food. We just waited a little long for food.

The prices are massively exaggerated for a small Longiland iced tea sfr.20.-

The staff is very nice and attentive. As he found out we speaking Spanish between us, he would say some small phrases is Spanish! It was too hot for our taste to eat outside, so we asked for a table inside, therefore we were the only customers inside. The food looked good. However, the burger bagel was super super dry! What could had been a really good burger, was totally spoiled by the bread. As for the cheese Spätzle, it was delicious!!

We went to the brewery for brunch on July 9th, 2023. It was great weather that day, around 35 degrees at the end of the day. The buffet was very richly decorated and everything was always available. There were also no objections to the taste. Ambient was nice sitting outside on the terrace under the trees. I would like to give 6 or 7 stars for the service. I'm lactose intolerant and asked if you have lactose-free milk. Then the waiter looked at me and said: If I have patience for a moment, he will organize lactose-free milk. He went shopping for extra lactose-free milk. I was amazed that He offered me this and left. (P. S. For READERS, this SERVICE cannot be guaranteed at FULL OPERATION. Since I work in the catering industry myself, I know this, but YOU will do your best to fulfill your wishes. I SAY: THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND I VERY APPRECIATE THIS SERVICE. A nice place in the natural shade, fine beer, very tender pork breast, fine salad dressing and first-class ice cream!

Were celebrating a stag evening and made a reservation there. First a woman with short dark hair came and arrogantly told us: There's nothing to see here, keep going. When we made a reservation, as I said, another man with glasses came and said in an unfriendly tone: what do you want here? We then said again that we had reserved. I don't think it's possible to greet people like that, you don't talk to people so disrespectfully and I will never visit this restaurant again and I will advise against anyone who wants to go there!

Food was okay, but service was a bit sloppy. Anyone who feels welcome here should go.

We were there for an aperitif. Right in the center, well located. With some tables in the outdoor area. Friendly, prompt staff. Good drink selection. Try the honey flavored beer, special. Price/performance is fair. A recommended location for an aperitif.

Generous portions, beautifully presented and excellently cooked. The service was very nice, courteous and friendly. We can highly recommend it and would be happy to come back.

We had dinner as a group in the brewery and felt very comfortable. All employees were friendly and impressed with their hospitable, professional demeanor. Rich and varied menu, something for every taste. The beer was also great. A special thanks to my namesake, the serving specialist Elisabeth. She looked after us really well, worked with joy and enthusiasm and always had a smile on her face.

This place lives from its location. Food and service are mediocre at best.

We first went to Frauenfeld, a great shop. Because there was no space, we went to Winterthur for the second time. So honestly. It's better to wait until you get a place again in Frauenfeld. In Frauenfeld the water is free and in Winterthur you pay 10 francs. Where we wanted to order water, the waiter asked: is there no water at the front? Um hello? If we want to order water, we want water! Really an unfriendly waiter. I will never reserve the brewery in Winterthur again. Really disappointing. Not worth a star.

Food and service tiptop top beer selection

I took the schnitzel and my two colleagues had the cordon bleu. I thought my schnitzel was okay. I have tried many schnitzels and unfortunately this is not one of my favorite schnitzels. I like it when the schnitzel was pounded very thin, which wasn't the case here. I thought the side dish was delicious and I also liked the location.

On Saturday evening at around 9:30 p.m. we were able to eat something here without any problems. Friendly service. What we liked was that there were more special beers than just the standard lagers.

Very fine home-brewed beer. The seasonal beers are always worth a change. Plus wholesome, home-style food. Beer goulash with spaetzli is, among other things, a great culinary delight. On the weekend you rarely get a free place without a reservation. It's worth a visit. Food tends to be a little more strongly seasoned, a beer goes perfectly with it 🍻CHEERS🍻

We birthday party group of 6 wanted something to drink. We were rushed from one room to the other until it wiped us out. It was the first visit there. And we're never coming back.

Food very good in the usual quality and goes well with the fine beer. Beer perfetto and a pleasure at any time :-)

We weren't at Lockal, but at the Christmas market there was, among other things, very tasty mulled wine, which warmed us up in the cold on Tuesday and was always cool for Christmas

Beer was interesting, burger tasted like topCC ready burger and the dry pretzel as a bun didn't help either (28.- for a piece of minced meat with cocktail sauce is a bit much)

The way to the buffet was a bit too long but that only bothered me at first :) I recommend a Wegbier and a table beer.. the staff was great and the food was very tasty🥰

Hamburgers, sausages and the like? Then the brewery is a good choice. Certainly not the first choice for those who love small and beautiful things. I like going there, but better not every day. :-)

Compared to the brewery in Frauenfeld, Winterthur falls significantly short. The service is rather indifferent, to pay you have to get up and go to the cash register (in the USA this is normal, but here?). The atmosphere is very moderate. I ordered onion soup and a doughnut. The soup was rather bland and there were 2 donuts with salad (otherwise sales were probably too low). I didn't discuss it, I just don't go to Brauhaus WInti anymore.

Clear variety of beer types. Ambiance is OK. Friendly service and clean toilets.

Was very disappointed with the portion of the beer goulash. 3/4 of the plate was pasta/spätzli and only a small part was the actual goulash. Unfortunately the spaetzli were also too salty. But I'll happily come back for the beer.

Delicious Berlin-style currywurst and the fries are amazing! Initially there was a slightly longer wait until we were noticed and seated, as according to the sign you should wait until they seat you. But it was also Friday evening and well attended. After that everything went relatively quickly until the food came and we didn't have to wait long for the bill.

Nice place for a brunch in the heart of Winterthur. I was very surprised by the food that they bring to me. I thought that I ordered some sousages with Brezel and I received a sousages soup. Very unusual for me, but good. The Brezel was awesome ❤️ as well as the service and staff.

Nice place in the center of Wintertur. The beer was quite good and the burger too. Recommend others to go there and have a nice lunch or dinner.

My wife and I went to the brewery on Saturday after going to the cinema. It was still very warm. We had made a reservation. We were greeted very friendly at the reception and were even able to choose a table. When ordering we were given good and competent advice. The food came quickly and... It was very nicely prepared and it was also nice and hot, which I personally always put a lot of emphasis on because we don't value that much time because the process was quick and smooth. I wish the Brauhaus theme continued success and keep it up. And I hope that you find time to visit the brewery

The fine summer beer with passion fruit is great. Accompanied by a fine salad with bacon... What more could you want?😋
