38% price increase at the café within a week. A little more water and a larger cup costs CHF 0.50 more (espresso to the café)! Not customer-friendly price adjustment. Worse service than at the start. Too much staff change. Some people don't understand the German language and are unmotivated. I think ice cream is very good.

Today, we arrived in Basel and everything was fantastic - the food, weather, and the people. However, our experience took a bad turn when we decided to try some ice cream at this shop. The employee, a blond girl with glasses, seemed to have an off-putting vibe from the moment we walked in. Firstly, we asked for two scoops of ice cream and requested a larger cone. Surprisingly, she informed us that the bigger cone was meant for three scoops, so we decided to add one more scoop. As she began scooping the ice cream, she reached for another cone and decided to give us three separate cones for the amount of ice cream we ordered. It didn't make sense since there were only two of us; we didn't need so many cones. I exclaimed, "Oh my God, do we really need separate cones for each scoop?" She confirmed, and that seemed to tick her off even more. We decided to settle for just one scoop each because it didn't make sense to have an excessive number of cones. Then, I asked for pistachio ice cream in a cup, but she ended up giving me chocolate ice cream and set aside the first cone with chocolate. We paid for our order, unaware at the time that it was only for one scoop. We understood that Switzerland can be expensive, but we didn't have a clear idea of the exact prices for the scoops. I took my cup, and my boyfriend reached over to grab the cone (our mistake, assuming it was part of the order). That action seemed to infuriate her, and she scolded us, saying we should have asked for that cone separately. We didn't understand what she meant since her English proficiency was limited, and she could only communicate using simple terms. Once we realized her intention, I expressed that she should have clearly communicated the details to us. However, she continued to be rude, so we made the decision to leave the shop, leaving behind all the ice cream. It cost us 4.5 CHF, but I didn't mind losing that amount. To recap, the girl at the ice cream shop was extremely rude and had limited English skills. It was even more perplexing when she attempted to communicate with us in French, despite our lack of proficiency in either French or German (if we knew how to speak, we would have kicked off with that). Another customer in line behind us even remarked on her behavior, saying she was rude. I left the shop feeling upset and with a negative impression of the whole situation, giving the lowest score since it was awful.

This is some of the best gelato I have had, anywhere in the world. And, I eat a LOT of gelato. It is so creamy and delicious. The owner is also delightful.

Highly recommended. Place run by Italians, we had a delicious hot chocolate and tasted different types of ice cream. Worthy of note are certainly those with pistachio, almond and mandarin, the right ones from my Sicily. The owner is very kind, friendly and the quality is truly top.

The ice cream is delicious but also relatively expensive. Fr.13.50 for three balls without cream or other decoration is a bit excessive for my taste. Drinks are served without ice in a plastic bottle. There are motorway service stations with more services.

Unfortunately there are not enough seats. The ice cream tastes very good - but it doesn't reach the highest grade. The price is steep but it's worth it because the portions are generous. A cool tip on hot days.

The comments I read below are ridiculous, but these same people write that fast food giants (don't name any names) have fresh meat, for example! Laugh When you rate something, please be honest! The ice cream is of excellent quality. My parents used to be ice cream producers and I know what I'm talking about! An ice cream parlor where you see the ready-made powder for making ice cream being delivered in bags during the day, and then you lose your appetite. Especially at the price of CHF 4 per ball. Given the price, you would expect that the gelato is homemade and not a chemical mess.

It's now called Gran Gelato. I was horrified, the delivery man came in broad daylight and had bags full of sacks!!! the powder delivered. This means that at best it is mixed with milk and cream, and at worst it is mixed with water. This has absolutely nothing to do with homemade gelati. Zero stars, one because you can't post with zero stars

Caminando por Basilea, cuesta arriba y abajo, en adoquines, haciendo turismo en un día caluroso y soleado aumenta el deseo de un helado o un helado de gelatina. Por suerte, vimos Buongusto Caffe & Gelato, con mesas y sillas que nos invitan a sentarnos y relajarnos con nuestras delicias frías. Ambos obtuvimos gelato de chocolate en conos de azúcar (uno grande para sostener la cucharada generosa de gelato y uno pequeño en la parte superior). ¡Sabroso! Incluso tienen un baño agradable para los clientes.

Very good gelato. Something for everyone. Coffee also tastes creamy. Prices are moderate. The seating outside is nice. The staff is very Italian, i.e. friendly and relaxed. I really enjoy being there with my kids too. A piece of Italy.

Best ice cream in Basel. Very small but nice restaurant on Gerbergasse. In my opinion the price for a ball is a little too expensive (4.00 CHF) but the rents in the city are extremely high. Unfortunately there are also not enough seats. But since I take the ice cream with me anyway and the quality is excellent, the price doesn't matter to me.

We only got an ice cream, so I can't give any information about the cafe and service. But the ice cream is amazing! Pistachio has pieces and tastes a bit salty - absolute recommendation!

Not so cozy, but the hot chocolate is actually liquid chocolate and there is a scoop of ice cream to go with the hot drink. That was pretty tasty.
