20 minutes for a coffee when there are four people working.

Food was okay considering that there were at best 4 people in the kitchen during rush hour so I am guessing they had to make a LOT of mise en place in advance which is a plus for them, there was no music so it felt a bit blunt and quite loud, the serveice was overall nice considering they were clearly understaffed (especially the Indian manager who was very entertaining and very friendly) I rate 5 stars for the atmosphere because it was pet friendly

Let's start from food which was avarage my steak tasted like from supermarket cooking was as i ordered , rest of the table had same opinion, service was a bit sloppy few people came to our table we didn't know at the end who was our waiter. We had impresion that they are understaffed. There was no any nice background music to add to atmosphere but maybe they have some rules or guests that are visiting maybe don't care.We were expecting much more since we were recomended.

We were served an expired dessert. Inedible, we returned it to the kitchen who admitted and "hoped we weren't sick". In the end, we were brought another dessert without asking, and then left all of that on the bill. Honestly, in general the cuisine is not up to par with the prices.

I like this café full of Lausanne bobos but like many people here, I find the prices to be grossly outrageous. 5.30 a coffee macchiato you don't want a second one...

Industrial orange juice at 8 francs not good

Fortunately there are atypical places like this... Yes it's still a café, yes, there are waiters, it looks like a normal restaurant, but when you go there a few times, you'll appreciate the very atmosphere. relaxed, the friendliness of the service and what's more, the food is good. In my opinion, it is one of the cafés most representative of this famous Lausanne atmosphere. I recommend ! A bit expensive though...

Nice restaurant, with good service, but dishes too expensive for what they are. At 12.50chf, 2 small pancakes with maple syrup and double cream, which is not enough for brunch. Plus the pancakes weren't amazing. The hot chocolate menu is very varied, a nice surprise. In summary, nice cafe for brunch, but food too expensive for average quality.

I always went to the Grancy café for supper. I tried the brunch for the first time and I was very disappointed. The dishes are small, you can't even see certain foods like the granola in the yogurt. There was no longer a brunch staple. We remained hungry. I don't recommend it for brunch. However, the price is correct.

It was very good and very good. But why don’t we get to taste tartars anymore? I understand that we no longer make them in front of us (although I would like to) but the minimum is to have people taste them.

Very disappointed. To charge 7chf for a “squeezed” orange juice when it is cut with juice from a carton is to make fun of the world. The Brunch (panckes) was not good either.

Went in for brunch, managed to sit outside under the sun which was quite enjoyable. The service was good and fast, the food was simple with sandwiches and omelets. And the juices were fresh. Overall nothing fancy, simple and enjoyable!

I love this café, the service is impeccable and warm. The atmosphere is great, decoration, comfort, music. The neighborhood is nice.

Charming and efficient service! Very good food, with certainly relatively few vegetarian options*, including the famous risotto that they serve us everywhere where we don't know how to make vegetarian... but what a success!! The squash and mushroom risotto was creamy (but thanks to the parmesan, not crème fraîche, so not at all cloying!) and generously garnished with squash, mushrooms and other small vegetables! I would come back without hesitating ! * There are nevertheless several very good vegetarian starters, but which remain smaller portions than the main courses (that said, perfect for those who are hungry!)

Teapot scam! Please note: teapots (cast iron and therefore opaque) do not allow you to visualize the volume of water. If my first teapot order (CHF 9.-) was full, my 2nd only contained two mini services (approx. 2.5 dl). And when it turned out to be empty, I blamed myself for not having checked its contents BEFORE.

Place visited as part of Sunday brunch. Be careful to plan your reservation in advance because they are often full if you go there the same day. There were 10 of us, all the dishes ordered were delicious. Fast service, friendly staff, good value for money.

A brasserie atmosphere in Lausanne, the best

This place has its little faults (hehe), such as service that is sometimes a bit too familiar, dishes that are slightly expensive for what they offer, and occasionally having to share the table with other guests in the manner of A cafetaria. Nevertheless, he was able to conquer our hearts. The atmosphere is warm, the decor charming and welcoming, the menu tempting and the dishes tasty. It's an excellent choice for a lunch or to enjoy a drink accompanied by a delicious plate. The service remains pleasant and friendly, and it is easy to book over the phone (even at the last minute), although an online booking option would be appreciated! So! THANKS!

Certainly one of the coolest places of Lausanne for brunch, lunch or dinner. No Michelin star but honest tasty and fair priced food made out of local products. Try the Parmentier or one of the Tartar. Bestsellers for 10 years and its not going to change in the near future. Be aware, allways crowded (and loud) so nothing goes without a reservation at least one day in advance. Give it a try and enjoy.

A favorite shop, suitable for friends gathering or date🥰 It’s just not recommended to go outdoors in summer. As soon as the meal is served, the flies swarm up and it’s scary.

Very good restaurant. The menu offers a wide choice of fondues. The interior is a little noisy so it's better to come a little late, around 9 p.m. Very good service, fast and smiling servers!

This is a classic in Lausanne. The atmosphere is unbeatable. The food is good althought I findvthe menu a bit too small sometimes. Service is also quite good with friendly and young staff. Price in line with Swiss standards.

Good place to eat. French cuisine, Swiss prices (very high for average Italian standards). Tables inside and on the internal terrace along the street.

Most bizarre service experience of my life. Ordered immediately, waited half an hour for the beer before going inside to get it myself. The waiter seemed insistent on not seeing me trying to get his attention. Then after I finished my beer I tried to get someone's attention in order to pay for about 20 minutes before just going inside again to pay by card. No apology. I was sure I was at least going to get a free beer, but no.

We ate a trio of tartare and a beef tartare, certainly faded meat, dark in color and unfit for consumption. My son was sick...

It was near the Francy metro stop, getting on the metro we noticed this place where you can eat Swiss cuisine, from salmon tartare to local frankfurters, we had dinner and had a great time also thanks to the waitress of Roman origins, who helped us recommended the different foods and the dessert, consisting of different flavors. Very, very good.

Very pretty place, beautiful terrace and in the heart of Lausanne. On the other hand, very surprised by the way we were put out! We arrive at 10am. At 10:55 a.m., the waiter comes and leaves, without saying anything, a yellow sign saying that the table is reserved from 11 a.m. Not even 1 hour after our arrival and after having eaten breakfast... Very unfortunate!

The welcome is warm, the food is quite good, a little expensive if I go there often.

Once my favorite place in Lausanne. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has declined and the one superb service is abominable. Our waitress (black pony tail, lots of traits) was rude, arrogant and not at all attentive. Pity...

Menu is in French so keep your phones translation app handy. Friendly but very busy staff with some English spoken. Flavorful dishes. Got the sausage with mustard, mashed potatoes and veggies and liked it. Large portions. Reasonably priced wine.

We spent a very pleasant evening. The dishes ordered were successful (trio of tartares: beef/salmon/vegetarian and sausage and mash) and good value for money for Switzerland. However, the wait is sometimes long, the tables are not necessarily served in the order in which they ordered. Nice service, but quite uneven.

Visited on a Sunday morning. I waited an hour for two small and cold pancakes. I told the waiter when I paid and got no redeem nor any sign of consideration. Such a ripoff.

Warm, vibrant atmosphere and a great variety of classic French/Swiss dishes as well as some unique ones. We had a big group dinner here and the service was great even with a large group. Portion sizes were massive, so pace yourself if you're getting multiple courses... recommend the gazpacho, the grilled fish, and the lime sorbet/fruits dessert.

I love the drinks but I don’t really like the food. The sausage was served cold, and I didn’t like the veggies. Also, it feels like they aren’t generous with the bread and portions.

The location and decor are nice as well as the atmosphere; the food is not exceptional but reasonable, however, the service really leaves something to be desired. If you are willing to put aside the rudeness and indifference, it's worth it but otherwise, move on.

I rarely, if ever, complain about the restaurants I visit, but given the food poisoning that followed, I have to warn future customers. Not only was the food served lukewarm, but it had clearly been reheated (puree with the beginnings of a crust because it was left exposed to the air too thin and the chicken was dry, the sauce which had started to “separate”).. A lack cruel in flavor as well. Despite having shared our disappointment with the service (service which did its best!), no apology from the kitchen, nor a drink or dessert offered as an apology. Dessert which was also half melted (same on other tables). Total rubbish. And waking up the next day was very, very unpleasant, without wanting to go into details. TO FLEE.

After 5 years I got back to this restaurant and was not disappointed! Really nice easy going spot with a very delicious food and drinks. Pleasant atmosphere in summer and winter. Great food and nice service! 👍

It’s Sunday at 10 a.m. we wanted to have a coffee on the terrace outside in the sun… A large terrace has been installed, the weather is very nice, there is sunshine and we are told that it is only for people who take a tree but so what is the point of putting a terrace outside?😠 It’s useless apart it ruins all the pleasure of consuming I’m very into it I can’t wait to finish my coffee to go out in the sun 😤

Excessive prices for poor service and poor quality cuisine. From (authorized) theft we will never set foot there again. John Steed brunch for 29.- with leftovers/edge of half-burnt bacon, tasteless white beans, new potatoes sometimes black, scrambled eggs ok. Cold toast on one side and uncooked on the other, bad so-called “fresh” orange juice (rather industrial?) Basket of various breads, ok. In short, not recommended!

The food was delicious and the service was friendly. However, we had to draw the staff's attention several times in order to receive menu cards or order. Certain things that were ordered were always forgotten and had to be reordered.

Really great spot for food. You will most likely require reservations ahead of time as the place is always very packed. Highly recommend trying the beef tartar dish.

Almost always full, dinner reservations necessary. We couldn't book a table without eating in, but they have a nice corner for a drink only. We were waiting quite a bit for our drinks since it was full.

Not the friendly service I was expecting - the server was possibly the least helpful I’ve seen in Europe, dommage! They don’t have an English menu fyi and have no desire to help you either. Ended up ordering just a cappuccino and it was pretty darn bad for what it cost. You could get much better ones at much cheaper places. Shame because there were plenty of tables to just sit and people watch and it also got good reviews.

Café de Grancy is one of my absolute favorite places in Lausanne. The food is always perfect and the service is efficient and friendly. We recently enjoyed brunch outside on the terrace and loved it. I highly recommend the pancakes and crème brûlée for dessert! In addition, my long time favorites are the salmon tartare or fresh Raviolis. It's worth mentioning that most of their products are from local producers, which adds to the quality of the food.

The salmon tartare is good, the same for the piece of meat. Great for aperitifs, small snacks or even just to drink a coffee.

We ordered a beer and a sparkling water. After ten minutes of waiting we contacted the waitress who took the liberty of telling us that it was not a fast food restaurant. Establishment to avoid just because of the service!

I only had a coffee there. It is one of the old bistros of Lausanne. Nice.

The service is incredibly slow. It was clear that they were avoiding eye contact and had no interest in providing any service. It took us 30 minutes to order. It's not the first time that we observed this slowness that's why I recommend visiting other places close by in Lausanne for breakfast or brunch.

Very average service, wines by the glass not presented (still 8.50, the dl of petite arvine), dishes served before having received the tip. Red wine and without having finished the aperitif. Dishes returned to the kitchen then cold when served. Too bad because the products are excellent.

Although we had reserved a few minutes wait for a place to become available but we said all this with a smile, then installed and top service with a smile and efficient despite all the tables being occupied, we did not understand that the Wednesday the menu is different, no problem we take sea fondue, sauces and accompaniments very good, an excellent wine from a Valais winegrower, a great evening

Nothing special food, chestnut dessert with cranberry ice cream is probably the worst combination of flavors in a dessert I've ever tasted - terrible. Very good and very fast service. The space has a very friendly and relaxed vibe.

Still as nice after not having returned for a few years, well attended and quality cuisine.
