A catastrophic and unfriendly welcome from the waitress, who refused to serve us a coffee on the terrace and for no reason…… She tells us that at that time (12:45 p.m.), we also have to have lunch…..and that the 2 tables next to each other were at the café…. Lie after verification with customers! In short, a zero would have been deserved….!!! Dear Sir, We have taken note of your opinion and are sorry that your experience in our establishment was not satisfactory. However, we would like to make some clarifications to some points mentioned in your comment. First of all, we understand your disappointment with our credit card payment policy for amounts less than 20 francs. This policy is intended to cover the high commission fees associated with credit card transactions for small amounts, in this case 4.-- for a coffee shop. However, we offered to charge 20.-- to your credit card and return 16.--. This information is displayed on our front door. Furthermore, we would like to point out that our restaurant, in particular our terrace on the shores of Lake Geneva, is particularly popular during lunch hours, and that despite the crowds, we were more than willing to welcome you for a coffee. You informed us that neighboring restaurants were not taking any coffee customers during this service period, and we have taken this into consideration. Finally, we find it regrettable that there is no platform allowing restaurateurs to rate their customers with stars. So-so! We went there as a family last Sunday afternoon with a reservation. The setting is identical to the photos, dark, rustic but not devoid of charm. Correct welcome, but what is this stubborn smell that reigns and sticks in your nose throughout the meal: floor cleaning product, but the smell of dirt combined with chlorine. Really not pleasant and felt by everyone. The menu is local but the prices are outrageous, we tell ourselves that it will really be good afterwards. However, this was not the case. Tasteless crust (stale bread and sparse and tasteless cheese just like the ham), Rosti leaves us hungry and a little dry, good perch fillets. Homemade desserts lack deliciousness and finesse (no better than in the supermarket). Very very average for the price, but some people must appreciate it because it is well filled which creates a nice atmosphere. It still smells like a tourist trap. Too bad, couldn't do better.

We went there for Valentine's Day, great meal, very professional service, friendly staff, smiling all this in a French 80s-90s atmosphere all with a beautiful decoration full of love. Very good restaurant to try

We had the pleasure of dining at Vieil Ouchy thanks to Table Ouverte, and it was a truly delicious experience. The cordon bleu was absolutely delicious, and the fondue was simply creamy and tasty. In addition, the welcome was exceptional, which is a real plus during our visits with Table Ouverte. This restaurant was a great discovery, and we can't wait to return.

Very disapointed. To flee ! - The bread was stale - The welcome was unpleasant - Inflated bill (+5€?) Really, I should have trusted the last few bad comments.

Tomato fondue served with potatoes… yes with the quantity only half of the fondue can be eaten!!! So we ask for more potatoes... 5CHF extra! These Vaudois are really thieves!!!

Food was good. Had to go to the cash machine as they didn’t take card. Service was hard to get when we needed it. I got some escargot and shared a fondue.

My wife and I were in Switzerland visiting a friend and took a chance on a local restaurant before meeting our friend. We’re so glad we did!! The decor was beautiful and quaint and we instantly got a warm welcome from Florian. We opted for the Menu Fondue. Wow!! It came with a meat platter, half and half fondue with potatoes and bread, pineapple carpaccio, limoncello, coffee and we were even surprised with a delicious double cream meringue to finish. The service from Florian was fantastic and would definitely recommend to those visiting Lausanne.

Delicious meat, good wine, polite and friendly staff!

I went during the week at lunchtime to eat a fondue there. Nothing to complain about the fondue except a price in the high range. Nothing to complain about the service either. But then why such a low rating? Simply ambient noise. The restaurant was packed and so noisy that we couldn't hear each other speak. Of course it's not directly the restaurateur's fault but I had a not very pleasant time. So my advice if like me you like to eat in peace, go there unexpectedly and if there are not too many people it's ok. Otherwise continue on your way

What a desappointment ! A morel and cognac fondue. No morels, little black dots in the cheese, in any case no Gruyère, certainly only Vacherin which should not heat too much so the taste in the mouth was that of non-evaporated cognac, served with damp bread! And it’s sold fr. 38 without the Pickles and potatoes.

A real place to eat a fondue with the atmosphere of winter and the mountains!!! It's exactly what we're looking for. The fondue is super rich and tasty! It shows that it is a quality cheese with an affordable price! We recommend this place!!

Large table menu imposed by them when we didn't want their proposal! Overpriced prices and nothing exceptional Tip added without your knowledge! Definitely not recommended unless you like to be plucked!

Passage yesterday around 2:30 p.m.: Without exaggeration, we were able to taste the best fondue ever eaten (prosecco/truffle). Our waitress took great care of us, I wasn't able to thank you before leaving but many thanks, we had a great time! We now know where to eat when you return to Lausanne!

Local experience, good food and friendly service. From the outside everything seems full but inside the table is located. Initially it seems like a compromise but inside it is even more distinctive. We ordered a tartare and a potato galette. The french fries came on the side and were delicious. We had a good time and the price was reasonable. I recommend it and leave some photos of the dishes.

A very disappointing experience. First of all, a waiter who takes the customer seriously when he asks for the allergen menu, even if on the menu it is written that information on allergens is available upon simple request. We explained that lupine, a substance to which I am allergic (present in the official list of European allergens) can be present in all flours. The same server certifies that the ravioli are made without flour... surprising all the same... These same ravioli (8 in number on the plate) “with truffle” which had absolutely no taste. Besides that, a cheese fondue, although correct, in very small quantities with nothing other than bread (and yes 5 CHF for potatoes, there are no small profits). In short, a tourist trap, move on, there are certainly better elsewhere.

Great discovery this evening thanks to the open table menu. Small restaurant close to the road of course, but which still offers intimacy, the restaurant has its charm. I really appreciated the waiter, the service was absolutely top notch, the waiter was very charming, very pleasant, attentive, intentional, and easily adapted to the customer. It was really nice. We had the homemade cordon bleu and fries, very good. Homemade tiramisu, also very good. The products are quality. Fine wine. Lots of homemade. No fishing for perch this evening, as fishing is difficult due to the heatwave. And seem to be careful not to freeze. Perch fillet is still quite expensive, but if it really comes from the lake and is good, why not! To test!

Trap tourists. Unfortunately the service was slow, on the menu board it is written in large fillets of perch from Lake Geneva and when we order we are informed that there are no more. You might as well erase (because it is written in chalk) this information if it is no longer relevant. We opted for a steak, to be honest, it was a piece of steak, few fries and not even vegetables, we had 1 and a half cherry tomatoes. The café de Paris and the fries are not at all homemade. The table next to us returned 2 plates because they were not cooked as requested. Why put the “homemade” information? At this price we prefer to go elsewhere. When paying, we were not asked if it was, they themselves know the quality of their work…

While in Lausanne for a day, we followed local advice and chose Vieil Ouchy. What a nice surprise close to the lake. We enjoyed ourselves, both with the cuisine and the wines. The owner was extremely kind and charming company. A few cordial discussions about Switzerland and Paris, then a delicious lemoncelo offered. I will return without hesitation. Well, unfortunately it didn't convince me that much. Meat: not good Salad: it's ok Rösti: not good Service: could be better! We had to wait a long time until the Lord came. We also ordered the bill twice, the third time we brought it to the attention of another lady. Restaurant: maybe just for drinking, but I wouldn't recommend it for eating.

Pleasant cafe on the edge of Lake Geneva. Indoor and outdoor seating. Outside seating has nice lake views. Large menu including fondues and rösti. Got the Rösti burger and the fondue both of which were excellent. Staff were friendly with some who spoke limited English.

Very good food, we had to wait a bit. The advantage is the opening hours, while other places in Lausanne have a break, usually from 2 to 5 or 6 p.m., here it is open all the time.

We went to eat in the evening with my girlfriend. The person who welcomed us was very warm. Then another person took care of us for service and did not speak French very well. We had cordon bleu which were overcooked and dry. I will never set foot in this restaurant again.

The location is amazing. We ate here at sunset and had picturesque views of the lake, highly recommend getting seated outside. We got two fondues and a rosti. They were very accommodating and removed the cheese from the rosti. The truffle fondue was great, tomato fondue was underwhelming. Service takes a while so please be patient, the food is great and with the views I am not complaining. Do not skip on the tiramisu.

Restaurant which seems small at first glance, but very friendly and warm atmosphere. Original and very good cocktails offered. Traditional cuisine with fresh and local products (that's what attracted us to sit down). And indeed, very good typical Swiss dishes and especially seasonal! I highly recommend this address 😀

If I could I wouldn't give it any stars. It was my first visit to this place and my friend and I wanted to have a coffee in the afternoon. At the same time, I wanted to take advantage of it to connect to a wifi network. When I arrived I asked the waitress if there was wifi she said yes then she said she was going to talk to her boss. We waited standing. The boss arrived and we didn't feel welcome (all because I asked if there was wifi?) and he said there was no wifi, the atmosphere was n was in no way pleasant and he wasn't pleasant either. So we left without even consuming, ever again. Unprofessional and unfriendly.

The food here is overpriced for what you are getting and can be a bit of a tourist trap. I’ve been in this area quite a bit and the quality is always very inconsistent the several times I’ve been here. Staff can also be a bit unprofessional at times. There’s a good lake view which for me is nice if you’d like to have a coffee but otherwise, there are plenty of better lunch and dinner options in the area.

Great place but beware of the hidden costs. The food, the service and the atmosphere is amazing. They even have an English menu, very appreciated. The warm goat cheese with figs and the Cordon Bleu were out of this world and the portions are very generous. However there were some minor moments that brought the total bill up, like asking us whether we wanted water and then bringing us a bottle and charging for it; also asking what kind of sauce I'd like with the meal, but that souce is extra, of course. In any case, worth it.

Small friendly restaurant but chaotic service with a waiter who does not take note of the orders and then returns 3 or 4 times to the table to ask for the order again and finally brings us the starters at the same time as the main courses.. The cordon bleu as well that the fries were OK but the entrecôte was not great for the high price and the morel sauce had a diluted taste. The tables were also way too crowded.

This is the second time my partner has come to dine in this restaurant. The setting is original, the dishes are generally good but the prices indicated on the menu are not the same on your bill (this poses a problem)! Also worth mentioning was a most lamentable welcome, bordering on racism... Too bad we won't be coming back.

Fabulous! Swiss hospitality as it SHOULD be! Old style friendly, with a smile, - and fast! Fantastic fondue and roesti, green salad has an exquisite dressing....candles are lit inside and terrasse has cosy blankets. A real treat.

Wonderfully authentic Swiss-French dining, delicious food and an engaging host. Well worth trying the Roesti Morel, these mushrooms are as tasty as they are hard to find.

Overpriced, unremarkable food. We had the meat cold cuts to start, which were clearly supermarket prepackaged, not butcher, and then we had the truffle fondue, which was tasty, but nothing special for the price. What amazed me is that they charged us 5chf for half a cup of pickles and onions (twice!) when in any normal Swiss restaurant they come for free with any fondue. Greedy. The staff were nice but were clearly overwhelmed with the work load. Clearly lots of corners being cut by owner /management. I do not recommend.

Shows a kitchen open all day but ultimately tells us that the kitchens are closed and will reopen at 5:30 p.m. at best (nothing is certain), so after having hesitated for a long time because we really wanted to eat a fondue but we gave up (the price of 5F for the potato supplement discouraged us even though they are included in most other fondues)

Beautiful traditional restaurant along Lake Geneva for fondue. We tried the tomato fondue and the champagne and truffle fondue which were delicious. You can order single portions rather than a large fondue so you can try different flavours. Some of the best fondue we've tried in Switzerland!

The first thing that pleasantly surprised us was that the kitchen was open all day, which was perfect for us since we came after lunch hour. Even though the restaurant was quite crowded, we were greeted with a smile and the waiter found us a nice table on the second floor of the restaurant. We wanted to try the fondue, so we were advised to get the Fondue Menu, which ended up being a great decision as it included cheese and meat cuts, the fondue itself, pineapple carpaccio and coffee with limoncello (to keep you warm :)). It was definitely one of the best fondue we tried, and in my opinion, the best fondue in town! Unfortunately, we didn't get to try the desserts as we were already pretty full, but we will definitely be back. The table next to us was serving Cordon Bleu, and it looked delicious too. It's a cozy old-style family restaurant. They have a terrace, but it was a little cold for us to stay there, but for the summer season, I think it's very good. Good food, nice staff, great location (Lake Leman is right across the street). We will definitely be back!

We came to eat with my wife last week, we took 2 different fondues to test the truffle one and the normal fondue and according to us (we are from Valais) this is the best fondue we have tasted in the canton of worth. Very warm service and welcome, we highly recommend this restaurant and we will return there the next time we are in Lausanne.

He didn't let me sit at a table of 4 because it was all reserved. Instead I was there and 2 tables of 2 people were booked. So my review is 1 star but I stayed all evening and no one else arrived. You are not serious. I came back today and it's a catastrophe. 31/10/2022 I will never set foot in this place again. I wish you a lot of luck

A stone's throw from the lively lakeside, entering Vieil Ouchy is like entering a timeless, friendly and lively bubble where fans of traditional dishes are in heaven. The great classics are unmissable in Lausanne and it is undeniably an excellent place to enjoy hunting. I highly recommend !
