My girlfriend and I wanted to spend a relaxing evening with a drink, but unfortunately the waiter was very unfriendly and didn't even greet us. When I wanted to order alone and my girlfriend was still thinking about it, he put us under pressure because of the rental and labor costs, even though we wanted to order later. Unfortunately, that spoiled the mood and I no longer feel like going back here. It's frustrating to see that despite the many complaints about the service, the same problems still occur. Give a tip…… äääuhhh no thanks.

The Café Littéraire in Stauffacher is really worth a visit, especially if you appreciate good food and a relaxed atmosphere. Let's start with the food: the desserts and cakes here are to die for! Really tasty, just the right mix of sweet and not too heavy. The rest of the food is also great, well prepared and beautifully presented. The coffee is okay, not exceptional, but goes well with the sweet things. What makes the café so special is the cozy interior. You immediately feel at home, a great place to chill, read or people watch. A cool extra: There is piano music on Saturday, which creates a great atmosphere and makes the weekend even more relaxing. In short, Café Littéraire in Stauffacher is a great place for anyone looking for delicious food and a casual atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit!

The waiter was very rude when i asked if he speaks English, he said only “German, you are in Switzerland and we only speaks German in here” Bern is a tourism town and people from all over the world come here, many people here is very kind and friendly. That server will need to work on his customer service skills once and for all for what i see.

The cake is good, and the italian server is Also good, but one server or the owner is terrible for the atention of the people, and Said: In Switzerland we speak only deutsch, and it was so rude and it happened two times.

The Stauffacher bookstore is my favorite bookstore. The employees are all very warm and accommodating. But I can't say that about this coffee in the building. The waiter asks you to order with “hm?” instead of a simple “what would you like?” When I wanted to pay, I went to the counter where the waiter, 2 meters away from me, was watching videos on his smartphone with headphones. I couldn't make myself noticed without screaming or banging on the counter (so I went back to the seat and tried again later. Now I could pay, but not with a card. In a post-Corona restaurant in 2022, that has to be the case simply be possible. This basement is definitely not intended for service.

We were shouted at by the waiter in front of all the guests because I had put the teapot next to the coaster... I have often seen him annoyed and unfriendly. I'm not going there anymore.

The café would actually be quite sweet, the drinks and the cake weren't bad. It's a shame that the waiter sat next to us 20 minutes before closing time and shook his wallet without saying anything. The gesture was really cheeky and indecent! Plus a bored facial expression and headphones in your ears, never again!

The café would be really cute, the terrace with the flowers is very nice! But the waiter insulted us really cheekily (he probably meant that we didn't understand it in his broken German), so we left immediately. A pity!

One of the best cafés to spend an afternoon in. Located in a bookstore, this café has a cosy atmosphere with good options for snacks and coffee. Well within walking distance from the main station, this is also a great place for a quick coffee when strolling through the city.

In this cafe you can have a delicious menu every day. There is also a wide selection of various cakes for dessert. There are dozens of pictures of people from the past hanging on the walls. This location is inside the bookstore. I always found the service to be very friendly, probably because I was too. 😉

Get rid of that waiter. It only brings bad reviews and scares away potential regular customers. I don't know if he has any problems privately, but that's certainly not the customers' problem. Food good, books great

Extremely rude and unfriendly waiter. Hardly takes time for customers and most likely doesn't know the basics of the "customer is king" motto. When paying for coffee in cash, the money was simply thrown into the wallet and walked away without giving any change. When you asked if you could pay with your debit card, you were looked at impudently and cheekily asked if you had any cash with you. Clearly: never again! If you like extremely poor service and mediocre coffee, Café Littéraire Im Stauffacher is the place for you!

If you want extremely rude staff making you feel unwelcome, almost insult you and serving you overpriced and bad coffee: this is the place for you! Never again. Pity that the location is quite nice, but absolutely not worth it.

Beautiful terrace, in the middle of Bern and close to the train station, but still very quiet and pleasant to linger. The service is very courteous and humorous. Very suitable for coffee and croissants, but also for real menus.

Food was fine. Atmosphere loud and hectic, which mainly has to do with the grumpy server who bangs dishes and cutlery onto the counter very noisily. The restaurant was at most half full, and the staff's stress was kept to a minimum. Unfortunately it spoils the experience. It's pleasant on the terrace in summer.

Service was very friendly, food was very good 👍Price/performance top. We got 2 roast beef with fried potatoes and mixed salad, first a vegetable soup. As a dessert a homemade scoop of ice cream. Everything was freshly prepared and very good 👍👍👍 The price was also right .66.- for 2. We'd love to come back 😀😀

This café and restaurant is hidden away on the second floor of the Staufdacher book shop in old town Bern. There is out door seating on the terrasse, with a great view of the rooftops of Bern, or indoor seating. There are several daily menu (one meat, one vegetarian, one pasta) and a standing menu. All dishes were made to order and were delicious. Service was fast and friendly. A nice place for a quiet, light meal.

Die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich, fast ein wenig wie im Wohnzimmer. Da deutlich weniger Tische verfügbar sind, ist es auch nicht mehr so laut.Leider gibt es seit Corona keine Salate mehr, nur noch zwei Menüs. Das vegetarische mit den Teigwaren war ziemlich "zerkocht", obwohl wir kurz vor zwölf da waren. Die Salate waren mit Abstand das Beste. Zum Glück gibt es immer noch Tee in guter Qualität.Der Service ist sehr variabel, manchmal sehr freundlich und schnell, manchmal eher nicht...

Ich fand Caffee Litteraire zu einem der interessantesten Orte in Bern bei meinem Kurztrip hier. Ich sage: Probieren Sie es aus. Gutes Essen, starker Kaffee, nette Atmosphäre, interessante Leute. Meine Bilder zeigen den Ort durch meine Linsen gesehen. Ich habe einen Song ausgesucht, der zu meiner Stimmung passt, während ich dieses erstaunliche versteckte Ding besuche: DIDO - Life for rent (die Unplugged-Version).

Ein Highlight in Bern ist das Bücherlabyrinth der Buchhandlung Stauffacher.Das dazugehörende Bistro ist für die kleine Stärkung zwischendurch bei der Suche nach dem Bücherschatz bzw. für eine erste Sichtung der gehobenen Schätze als Café Litteraire willkommen - das Potenzial der tausend Kochbücher in Griffweite aber noch längst nicht ausgelotet.

Un bel mix di persone chi si legge un libro per i fatti, suoi chi chiacchiera dei fatti suoi. Prendere un caffè in un ambiente colto per spezzare le passeggiate sotto i portici.

Sehr unfreundliche Bedienung, überhaupt nicht aufmerksam und dauerte lange bis ich bezahlen konnte. Cappuccino war schlecht und Schokoladenkuchen alt und trocken..

Ist unbedingt zum empfählen! Freundliches Personal, gute Bedienung...bestimmt ein anderes Mal wieder!

Vorne weg, der Espresso war sehr gut und wurde auch flott serviert. Nett eingerichtet im 2. Stock des Bücherladen Stauffacher. Trotzdem kam bei mir kein Gefühl der Herzlichkeit auf. Gemischtes Publikum von jung bis alt. Karte mit etlichen Möglichkeiten sich mit einem Tee den Tag zu versüssen. Versuche es ein andermal nochmals und schaue ob es an mir gelegen ist. R. R.

Es gibt sehr leckere Salat. Die Portionen sind riesig und man hat nach einem Salat wirklich genug gegessen. Dazu kann man auch immer ein Quiche oder eine Tarte haben die sind auch sehr zu empfehlen. Die Bedienung ist freundlich. Manchmal muss man lange auf das Essen warten...Es ist eine tolle versteckte Terrasse und eher ruhig. Ich finde es toll.

Umgeben von Büchern, vor allem Kochbüchern, kann man in der Buchhandlung Stauffacher essen oder auch nur einen Kaffee trinken. Ich habe auf der kleinen lauschigen Terrasse ein sehr gutes Mittagessen eingenommen. Die Karte ist klein aber fein und deshalb stets frisch gekocht. Die Bedienung war sehr zuvorkommend und hat die Karte gut erklärt. Es hat etwas für jeden Geschmack. Wer einen Salat bestellt bekommt auf einer schönen Platte 3 frische Saucen zur Auswahl sowie andere Beilagen (Croutons, Kerne). Ich kann dieses Restaurant sehr empfehlen.

Enttäuschend war nicht nur das Essen sondern ebenfalls die unfreundliche Bedienung. Dort gehe ich bestimmt nicht mehr!

Magst Du Bücher, magst Du köstlichen Kuchen und herrlich duftenden Kaffee oder frischen Tee, dann ist das Café Litteraire einen Besuch wert. Ich schätze immer die außerordentlich freundliche Bedienung, immer präsent und trotzdem nicht aufdringlich. Die Kuchen sind frisch gebacken und schmecken köstlich. Bei Sonnenschein ist es auch super schön auf der Dachterrasse zu sitzen. Ein guter Platz zur Erholung nach einem Stadtbummel. Und nicht zu letzt, ein wunderbarer Platz um mit dem Lesen des gerade neu erworben Buch zu beginnen ;-). Das Café Litteraire befindet sich nämlich in der Buchhandlung Stauffacher.

Das Café liegt zentral in Bern, besonders im Sommer lässt sich auf der wunderschönen Dachterrasse viel Zeit verbringen und Sonne tanken. Die Aussicht ist genial! Auch der Innenbereich ist sehr schön gestaltet. Feiner Tee, feine Kuchen. Leichte, gesunde Küche zum Mittagessen. Preise nicht ganz billig. Jetzt das grosse ABER: die Bedienung ist sehr unfreundlich. Ich war schon mehrere Male dort und man wird weder begrüsst, noch wird einem ein Lächeln geschenkt. Nach dem Bezahlen der Rechnung wird einem weder ein "Dankeschön" noch ein " Auf Wiedersehen" ausgesprochen. Man hat den Eindruck, die Bedienungen seien alle mit dem linken Bein aufgestanden. Eine sehr schlechte Visitenkarte für das eigentlich schöne und gemütliche Café!

Das Café littéraire bietet einen gemütlichen Bistro-Stil inmitten des Buchladens Stauffacher. Die Karte ist klein, die Gerichte gesund und lecker. Perfekt als Mittagsoase!

Dieses zwanglose Restaurant/Café befindet sich in Stauffacher's Buchladen auf Neuengasse ein Spaziergang von nur ein paar Minuten von Bern Hauptbahnhof gelegen. Es ist nur ein paar Schritte von der englischen Sektion in der Buchhandlung. Ich liebe an sind die großartige Salate. Meine letzte war eine riesige Schüssel mit verschiedenen Arten von Grün bezogenen durch ein großes Stück mit geräuchertem Lachs. Gemischt mit die Greens sind Rüben, Karotten, Mais, roten und grünen Tomaten, Rosenkohl, und vieles mehr. Sie sind ein Tablett mit Beläge und Soßen serviert wird und man hinzufügen, was Sie wollen. Das Cafe ist auf jeden Fall locker und nicht elegant, aber es ist ein guter Ort für ein schnelles Mittagessen ob alleine oder mit jemand. Es gibt eine Terrasse, die angenehm an sonnigen Tagen ist, aber ich vermeiden Sie es, weil das Rauchen dort erlaubt ist. Es ist auch ein guter Ort für Kaffee und Kuchen. Auf jeden Fall der beste Ort für eine interessante Salat Mittagessen habe ich fand in Bern!
