Oishii in Bern

We had dinner reservation for my birthday and unfortunately we got so disappointed. No one really cares actually if you have a reservation. There was no table reserved at all. We had to wait a while at the entrance. Then finally the waitress mentioned we should go up the stairs and sit down somewhere. As we went upstairs we ended up in a dark room quiet unsure what to do. Finally the waitress came, turned the light on and started to set up a table. I totally understand if a place is busy and not everything always goes smoothly but I wishesd the waitress would have been a bit nicer. We ordered then the all you can eat which we came for. It is pricey but we liked the food. Still the wait on food and drinks was really long, a few food orders didn't even arrive. All in all it was a very disappointing birthday dinner.

Unfortunately very disappointed… Friend had to throw up from the chicken… Not recommended… Unfortunately, the service wasn't friendly either and seemed overwhelmed with the guests. We also had to wait a long time for the dishes (we still haven't received everything we ordered).

the food is fantastic, service and atmosphere could be better. It's a bit expensive but if you're really hungry this restaurant is a must. In the evening, all you can eat costs around 67 fr without a drink, but since you can eat for 2.5 hours, you can make a profit if you're hungry. Otherwise there are plates, single and for 2 people, where you have enough. The service is okay, they are always very fast and friendly, but the smile and the joy of the job are a little missing. The atmosphere could also be better. Although it's nicely furnished, it's cramped and there's not a lot of space, which is very urban. Nevertheless, the benches are very comfortable, there is good music playing and the dishes are very cute and in Japanese style.

One of my favorite restaurants in Switzerland, good price, elegant and of course good food.

Favortie place to eat in the city

Very tasty sushi in a diverse variety. The all-you-can-eat offer is at a relatively fair price (around €67). However, the drinks are very expensive, with a soft drink (5cl) costing around 6.00. On the other hand, this is the case in almost all restaurants where you can eat with discretion.

All the warm food was not at all warm. calamari rings were almost served cold and they were full oily. Had to wait for the food and drinks. Only one waitress and it was not fair. Waited for the food and then waited for the bill.

The food is good. For a price of Fr. 66.80 per person, you could expect a little more. Certain dishes were very tasty. Other dishes tasted less good to us

The food was good and the waitress really deserved the generous tip. Prices are reasonable. However, it was quite cramped and the atmosphere was somewhat hectic.

If you want to eat good sushi in Bern, Oishii restaurant is your place. There are Bentos, plates and free buffet. It is very convenient because it is ordered using an iPad. On the other hand, it is the only restaurant where I have eaten real chicken katsu (with Panko flour).

There really wasn't anything that wasn't good. We also went out to eat with our 1.5 year old son and he loved the food. Very child-friendly restaurant, a bit cramped in places, but very homely.

If you want to eat good sushi, this is not the place for you. I felt like it came out of the refrigerator, everything was cold. Nothing freshly prepared. Sushi with fried shrimp was cold so that says enough. The hot dishes were okay. The service was friendly, but that's not what you go out to eat for. I'm never going here again.

Our visit to Oishii was truly wonderful! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The all-you-can-eat buffet, where you could choose 5 items every 15 minutes via the iPad, was incredibly user-friendly and offered an impressive variety of sushi options. The price of 66.- per person seemed reasonable given the extensive offering. Overall, we really enjoyed our evening and would highly recommend Oishii Restaurant!

Great offer for sushi lovers and non-lovers ;-). The food was very good, the service was friendly. The ambience is not special, but the Japanese posters are pleasing.

Absolutely disgusting. Stale fish, probably from the day before. The service completely ignores this information. You hope for a nice evening and end up with unpleasant food, unfriendly service and stomach aches and nausea. Absolutely not recommended!

Very good restaurant with friendly staff.

It's a shame, we always enjoyed eating there. But after our visit yesterday (06/24/23) we noticed that prices have increased again. Now in the evening you only pay for the food (all you can eat), almost 70 CHF. But the offer has remained the same. I think if you have to increase the prices, the offer can also change a little. Otherwise the renewed price increase is not justified. So unfortunately we don't come as often as before, maybe only once a year, if at all. Now you easily pay 300 - 400 CHF if you want to eat out for four. And I think the offer for this renewed price increase is far too small.

Pleasant place to eat tasty sushi. The food is of quite good quality and the service is correct. We went for the all you can eat option, a great and good way to discover all types of sushi. The ordering system with the tablet makes choosing easy.

Nice service, short waiting times for food and drinks. The quality of the food was fresh and high quality. The price-performance ratio is good. One point deducted because there are a lot of pedestrians walking past the tables outside and it is also very loud.

Super great restaurant, the "all you can eat" offer is really worth it because the individual items are rather expensive, the drink is not included in the offer... PS: for those who don't want to ask for the toilet code (men) at the checkout, it is "2016" 😉

Highly recommended for all sushi lovers. The “à discretion” offer is particularly tempting and can be booked for 2 people or more. In contrast to many other providers, here you are asked to pay - in my opinion 100% rightly - if the desire was greater than the hunger. This encourages people to only order as much as they can eat. Food waste can thus be minimized

Overall, decent performance, doesn't quite come close to the Oishii from Germany. I thought it was a shame that all the dishes were either over-decorated with sesame or were only served with two sauces. I missed coriander or a radish garnish. A lot of it was frozen/canned. Worst “wasabi” substitute, unfortunately it was inedible. It's probably all due to the big map. Eating - regardless of what was ordered - took a long time, so by round 5 it had already been 2 hours. Kimchi was very tasty even if it wasn't spicy, as was the cucumber salad. Good tea. Friendly staff.

Unfortunately, sushi is better. The various maki were still okay, but the tuna on the nigiri was borderline in terms of consistency and taste. I liked my Chicken Katsu best. Unfortunately, due to the constant delivery services that constantly pick up food, the ambience is also lost.

The food was good, although we weren't always served the correct dishes. In addition, I think it's a shame that you have to decide as a group - either everyone orders the "all-you-can-eat" offer, or everyone orders "à la carte". A mix of offers within the group is not possible. For me personally, it doesn't have much to do with customer friendliness. All in all ok - but the price-performance ratio isn't quite right.

I like this place a lot. The Sushi is great and the staff lovely.

I would very much like to give 5 stars. However, the "hot dishes" were rather cold and salt should be a flavor carrier and not the main taste if these 2 things were changed it would be perfect.

Food good but 3 out of 5 wanted to eat "all you can eat" and were told the other two had to do this aswell if we wanted it. Not a fan of this at all. The waiters were nice but forgot a lot of stuff. completly or brought doubles from things we only wanted one. Also, duck from China? Really?

Food was good, but my partner, who was severely allergic, was served sushi with shrimp instead of chicken. When we had to cancel our visit to the restaurant because of this (noticed too late) and flee to an emergency, we didn't get any discount or anything, despite explaining the situation to the waitress...

Very bad service, something was missing from every order, which was suddenly served after dessert, but not everything... and only after that brought it up.. when I complained the answer was, sorry, lots of people, lots of orders.. If you can't handle a lot of people and a lot of orders then you should either hire more people or take fewer orders So 59.- per person for all you can eat, and then such a service and a lot of things not served.. it's not worth it.. the three of us paid over 200 fr.. we consumed around 120 130 fr, because a lot of things weren't served became.. Never again in the city of Bern...whether things are better in the West Side of Bern?!

Sushi was OK, a bit small. I've had much better ones. Had chicken teriyaki, it was a bit cold and I'm not really picky about it, but the quality of the chicken could be better. I thought the price was completely okay The service makes an effort and is friendly and efficient.

O sushi wa oishīdesu! And the fried mushrooms were great too! However, the selection of vegan options could be larger (such as in Nooch...). The price is on the higher end, but pretty normal for sushi.

Great Asian restaurant near the train station in Bern! The menu plates are really recommended A good amount and lovingly put together. The ambience is nice, although a bit dark and a bit warm inside when we visited. The prices are reasonable, if not cheap, for the quality. The Oishii is worth a visit.

the food is amazing every time. easily the best menu and variety of a japanese style restaurant i’ve seen in switzerland. that being said the one non-asian service girl working there will liter reach over your food while you’re eating to just clean up the paper from your chopsticks..? and other similar small unnecessary things like that. It’s really disturbing while you’re eating and makes you feel very rushed too. The other servers don’t do it, and she always sorta seems to have a bad attitude? I’ve genuinely never had a waitress reach over the meal i was eating to remove something small especially when we haven’t called them over for anything. Literally the only reason i’m not giving 5 stars.

I would describe the food as ok. Unfortunately, the all-you-can-eat concept makes it pretty bland and makes you feel a bit like you're in a fast food restaurant. It's not really comfortable to sit. The table resembles a battlefield. If you have to do this for 2-3 hours, it would be nice to get clean eating utensils every now and then. I would rather see it as fun to compete with friends in speed eating competitions. If you value an appetizingly prepared sushi plate and a quiet, clean table, you're in the wrong place here.

I really liked the place. Its value for money. Service was super busy. Food was very good. Staff was positive and would come back again.

The noodle soup was okay but the portion was a bit too small. The beer (Kirin) was fresh from the tap hence 3 stars.

The all-you-can-eat for CHF 60 is definitely not recommended. In the first 45 minutes only 3 small dishes came. Some dishes that were ordered didn't come at all. The quality is not good at all.

Sushi is relatively inexpensive and good here. On the first floor it looks like a junk room. Stereo system from 1985, old printer and empty watering can. Doesn't matter. Nice, fast service, so recommended!

We had the all you can eat dinner. The variety of food is vast, service was quick. The prices are pretty expensive for drinks as well as for the all you can eat; all the more I was disappointed when we were ready to move to desserts and three of the six dessert items were unavailable. The server said it's been this way since the beginning of the year. A heads-up would have been nice, as an overall nice dinner ended in a huge disappointment.

A great experience ordering via iPad. Which benefits the restaurant in Bern. So the monosyllabic employees can simply bring it without wishing them good luck. That was a real shame. At midday, when there wasn't much activity, the food and drinks came quickly, but without any words from the staff. The sushi is delicious. The owner's yapping little dog next to the stairs disturbed us with his barking. If you ask the staff nicely they will take it away..

Oishii is always worth a visit. We used to be regular customers and then we stopped going for a while. We were there again about a week ago. It was - like before - really great. The service is very quick and friendly. The dishes are delicious. Sushi 🍣 fresh.
