Café Restaurant Red Pepper Dogru Salih in Lausanne

I really like going there, I have a good time every time.

It’s a very central cafe, good position. It’s also quite spacious, on 3 floors. The food (we had only the brunch - see picture -, can’t say anything about lunch) was also good, we couldn’t complain about that. The service though.. 1. I tried to call to make a reservation the evening before, I called 7 times in 2 hours, but nobody picked up. I had to call the same day to make the reservation. 2. The waitress told us to sit upstairs, so we did. We waited for longer than 15 minutes and nobody was coming, so we had to call the waiter ourselves. 3. As mentioned, we tried the breakfast/brunch. In the menu it states that you can choose coffee, tea or chocolate for beverage. We chose one among the list of coffees (there’s another list aside for “special coffees”, we supposed that those were not the included ones, so we just chose among the “normal coffees” list), but it turns out, they were also “too special” so we had to pay for additional charges. Unfortunately the waitress didn’t even mention it as we ordered, thanks. And of course no mention on the menu. (Just to compare, we changed a croissant to a “special” one. For that we had to pay extra 1 franc, which was completely ok, since it states in the menu, something like “every change will be charged”, but as already mentioned, nothing about the coffee. I didn’t find it fair) So overall, good food quality but personally pretty bad service experience. There are so many nice places in Lausanne, I can’t recommend this one.

Excellent products, friendly and professional staff.

Ordered a "homemade" hot chocolate and plain pancakes... and received a kind of liquid resembling water with chocolate powder... no taste... They "threw" me a plate with it on the table. 4 small pancakes, very thin and without any decoration... "poor"...cheep... Moreover, the atmosphere is zero...Attitudes.. frankly not necessary...and in no way benevolent or even professional towards a customer...and to top it all off, we were able to witness dog training cries (adult) with "NO NO NO NO" and "STOP" "STOP" STOP"...What negativity that resonated in this already bad atmosphere... (Moreover we know well that an order to a dog should not be repeated 15 times...). The last visit to this establishment was already not great, but I wanted give it another chance.. It's definitely not quality for me, whether it's the food or the treatment of the customer. Too bad because the potential would be there.. Ah, I forgot..CHF 17.50 for powdered water and meager little pancakes...all this with...well not without a smile.....but attitudes. Next!

Nice atmosphere and decorate. There are always a lot of people, but the restaurant has 3 floors, so there's plenty of seating.

Deplorable service and welcome despite an apparently very beautiful café. As always, I announced my arrival, indicated that I was waiting outside and after 15 minutes without anyone deigning to serve me, I left. Several similar comments on the antipathy of the manager and a lack of consideration for customers. And I had the experience 5 times and I was disappointed each time... You will not see me anytime soon and you deserve this note....

I was looking for a quick and good meal. I had a Swiss Hamburger, very good and quickly served. If the opportunity arises I will come back

Instead of offering a daily menu for lunch, they charge each course separately for what seems to be prepared and not freshly cooked meals. Poor quality/price value.

An excellent experience in this restaurant with pleasant and jovial servers who demonstrate great know-how and professionalism! And the cuisine is just as good as the service. Very good experience, I highly recommend it!

The quiches were served cold, the vegetarian tart which was to be served at the same time as the rest of the dishes arrived almost three quarters of an hour later and it wasn't very good so I don't recommend it.

There really are ladybugs everywhere! If you are a fan of these little ones then you are served in this café 🐞

We ate very, very well in a very friendly atmosphere. The staff are charming. The service is fast. The place is warm and very well decorated in a wooded style. I will definitely come back and recommend this charming place where we eat very well with particular care for the presentation of the meal on our plates.

I just ordered a HOMEMADE cold hibiscus tea for 5.60 f. Orange color and foul taste. I asked for explanations and was told that it was syrup. So no homemade tea. I then order an elderflower syrup. Filthy too. Undrinkable and served in an equally filthy glass. I won't come back

This is a place not to be missed in Lausanne! The coffee is good and I can't wait to go back to try the chai latte which seems just as delicious. The place is cozy and the atmosphere is sophisticated. It’s a place that seems quite welcoming, so drinking coffee with friends is all the more pleasant. The service is simple and fast, which is nice.

Place on 2 floors so quite large, the drinks and cakes are very good but a little expensive and the service is quite stressful and cold from the employees.

Very nice café, small but with plenty of seats, where you can breathe a relaxed and typical Lausanne atmosphere. Nice to see locals going there to drink coffee and read the newspaper. The choice for breakfast is wide. More limited for those with allergies/intolerances. Despite this the staff are very helpful in adapting the menu.

Everything is perfect, but tables very close to each other and sometimes noisy atmosphere.

Cheap, served and in a nice environment. Enjoying breakfast here was a real pleasure. For 15 francs you can eat two croissants (ok not proper French style), good cappuccinos and fresh orange juices. While getting served you can also read the daily newspaper which apparently is on most of the tables.

THE place to know in Lausanne. A must-see place since I arrived in this city, around ten years ago and I never tire of it. Cocooning atmosphere with softness all year round.

I confirm 1st seen, 1st served! We waited 45 minutes for a frozen waffle and two coffees. A little overused though! The waffle was offered but fortunately because I wouldn't have paid for a frozen waffle.. what a shame!! And it was the waitress who came to apologize. The boss passed our table several times without showing any interest in us. This will be the last time anyone sees us in this establishment. Too bad the setting is nice…

15 minutes before asking myself what I want to consume, on the terrace, a coffee, which 13 minutes later still had not arrived. 1 time not 2…..

They always have very good cakes! We went there several times, we tried their cheesecakes, and mousses and we always liked them! It’s one of the best cafes in Lausanne in my opinion. I recommend it

Did you know ? Before Coccinelle Café came in, there was Wendy's. American fast food, much better than Burger King and McDonald's. I'm sad to no longer see the redhead... But Wendy's has returned to England and will surely return to Switzerland in the following years. Patience is the master of virtue.

The interior setting is really nice and warm. The service people are very friendly and the prices are reasonable. Small downside on the Cappuccino whose foam looks more like bath foam than milk foam :)

Nice place, terrace and small tables everywhere. Cute tableware🐞 But it stops there. It takes a long time to order, the waiters serve the first ones seen. Frankly cheesy plates (3 mini pancakes for brunch? Reserved for tiny stomachs) and tasteless drinks for the exorbitant price they cost. Disappointed.

10.50 frs for 3 mini pancakes with some fruit and three tastes of maple syrup so so. And their supposedly wonderful cold chocolate has no taste and is mostly served lukewarm. For me this is not an address to remember.

TO AVOID When the so-called waitress shouts at you that you have to go order directly at the bar or she comes to ask you what you want. No professionalism and no embarrassment!

Address to remember! Carefully chosen products, service with a smile and a treat for the taste buds. Very well decorated decoration and as a bonus, it doesn't hurt the wallet too much. We'll come back!

Waiting 25 minutes to drink a coffee despite our signs to the waiters is a real joke. They have no idea what order the groups arrive in and serve whoever they see first. We left without consuming because we were invisible.

Today we were waiting for 25 min to be served. Despite our multiple and polite calls noone even came with the menu. I don't know if we did something to offend the stuff, or maybe we look like some who came there just to sit at the table. But everyone else around us was served just not our table. So I don't know if it is a place worth recommending, maybe yes -you just need to attract somehow the waiter

Very good products but the staff does not respect the health precautions as planned by the health authorities. When I went there, not only did no one check our passes, but the distances between the tables were insufficient and obviously no Plexiglas! The establishment was crowded and it stank of clusters.

Very nice bar/restaurant with lots of character. The breakfasts are nice and there are plenty of delicious things to eat. The only downside is that the tables are close to each other and you can hear the surrounding conversations.

We saw many good reviews, so we had to come here for breakfast, and we are so glad we did. We had the complete breakfast, brioche, pancakes and a chocolate croissant. All of it was very good! The cafe has 3 levels of seating, and our waiter did a great job servicing all of them. It was very clean inside, and the waiter was very nice and helpful. We would definitely come again!

The decor and atmosphere are good. Maybe I had a bad day but the Vegan Tartine had no flavor, I couldn't eat it. Please taste your dish before offering it on your menu.

Really convenient. Lively outdoor cafe, but not noisy. Came here for lunch. Had the beet root and goat cheese tartare daily special and it was wonderful.

It's always a bit awkward to eat on the terrace because it's on a slope, but otherwise it's really good, a little expensive but it's worth it.
