Café Saint Pierre in Lausanne

A very good brunch, very tasty quality products and friendly service. A little downside for the noise, but YUM YUM...

Super nice café to spend some time alone or with friends. Cooks well. On the other hand, the service is not always at the top: servers who are often under water (especially on Sunday) who forget or who do not have time to smile :)… a little more joy and sympathy could raise the reputation of the Saint Pierre café.

Decent brunch and drink offer. Prices are not exaggeratedly high.

We had a wonderful brunch at Café Saint Pierre. Everything was perfect, from the warm welcome to the attentive and very diligent service, including the delicious meal. The choice is huge and every dish we tasted was prepared and presented with love. This is one of the best brunch destinations in Lausanne and definitely worth the detour! Very overrated in terms of "cuisine", meager dishes, lukewarm and much too expensive, stressed service, we are treated badly, even! Pancakes (I love them...usually!) are nothing tasty. The coffee - not great! - at 6.-, a scandal! Very disappointed because the place, formerly L'Escale, is nice, with a covered and heated terrace (hence my 2 stars). In a pinch, you have to go there to drink a glass of mineral water, not much more...or, better still, go elsewhere!

I haven't been there for a very long time. More for a drink or an afterwork than really for dinner and we loved it! Top-notch welcome and service, truly excellent dishes: poached egg, tempeh and tartare to die for… Really!

This small cafe is excellent! Stopped in for a late breakfast and got a croissant breakfast sandwich. Cookies perfectly, and the ham had the perfect amount of salt. Tried a few desserts and can't wait to come back the time I'm in NOLA.

Always wonderfully received and the food is very, very good.

The service is excellent and the atmosphere is cozy. It's nice to go there for a drink and nibble on a small board of cold cuts and cheeses. For the dishes, it's up to everyone's taste: personally I don't like all the spices but it will have a lot of interesting flavors for those who do.

A restaurant I've been going to since I arrived in Lausanne. The food is always very good and the lunch menu (a different dish each day) is worth it and well served. On Saturdays they serve brunch which is very good. For dessert I recommend the moelleux au chocolat which was one of the tastiest I tried in the region. A good restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. Oh, I couldn't forget the attendants who are always friendly and bring water for my dog! It is worth mentioning that it is recommended to make a reservation, as it is always full and if you are lucky you can eat without making a reservation.

We came for brunch, it was simply delicious! Poached eggs placed on Toasts, with bacon, Hollandaise sauce accompanied by a mixed greens salad, perfectly cooked and tastes excellent! Impeccable service and relaxed atmosphere Congratulations to the whole team, you are doing an excellent job!

Because it was Sunday, not many restaurants were open, but there were lots of people and they were friendly.

I particularly appreciated the attention they paid to the fact that I am celiac. The cook came to chat with me and brought us gluten-free bread. Perfect !

Very well installed terrace (this must be said because sometimes the tables are wobbly and it is very annoying especially on uneven ground as was the case). The waiter was really EXCELLENT, he made us laugh from start to finish without being too intrusive, a service we really love! As for the eggs benedict and the bagel, they were very good! I recommend for brunch! 🤗

Our brunch experience was a success. The food was very good. The staff was very friendly and caring. The dishes arrived very quickly despite a crowded restaurant. For the dessert part there was a mix-up in taking the order. We waited a while and the very commercial manager offered us dessert and drinks. This is important to emphasize because this is clearly not the case in all restaurants in Lausanne. We will come back.

There are three of us, we order 130.- worth of dishes. I see on the bill that they added a fruit salad (not very good, I hardly touch it) to the bill. Thinking that it accompanied my pancakes I didn't pay attention to it during the meal. I point this out to the waiter who refuses to take it off the bill because I “ate” it… the little piece of apple cost me 9.- and the discussion cost me my time and my patience. I have the word scam that burns my lips but I will abstain ;) Farewell St-Pierre and forever!

I have been living in Lausanne for over a year now and had noticed this place is quite busy so now I know why. Wonderful ambiance, tapas, drinks, and friendly English speaking staff. It is also nearby the clubs for a night of fun with friends afterwards. Enjoy!!

aperitif during the week, good atmosphere, great choice of small dishes, we have prices for 4 different dishes of good quality. We drank a Malbec which was excellent and a suggestion from the waiter, a Garanoir d'Eclepens, very good. I recommend this address.

Friendly café restaurant, fairly young atmosphere. Continuous service with a limited menu but the products seem to be of quality with simple cuisine revisited a little contemporary without being haute cuisine, service correct but very irregular, high price for food without scope.

The best Brunches in Lausanne in my opinion. Very nice establishment, young and dynamic team, the setting is very nice. They also organize cabaret evenings from time to time and I highly recommend joining one of these evenings.

Dishonesty on bills, unfriendly waiter

Café St-Pierre was my favorite bar in Lausanne and yet I will never set foot there again. We were a group of 15 people for a birthday and were received like nothing. The waitress spoke to us informally, and had an attitude not at all appropriate for someone who works in the service. Responses based on “Well no, since I told you so”, “That’s how it is here, you understand? If you’re not happy, check with my manager.” But if only it was only that… For large groups a formula of 35.- per person is imposed. There were 11 of us to start with and therefore ordered 11 formulas. The dishes arrive, the food is excellent. As the rest of the guests arrived we were attacked by the waitress who asked me to pay for extra meals even though we still had large quantities of food on the table and those who arrived did not have the intention to eat. Basically, if you had the misfortune to nibble a carrot from your neighbor's plate, you had to pay 35.-. How is it justifiable to charge a full meal for someone who arrives at the end of the meal when 2/3 of the dishes have already been eaten? We had to go so far as to negotiate with the manager in order to pay for what we had actually consumed. This is really no way to treat or receive people who come to have a good time in your establishment and who spend close to 700.- in one evening.

Very nice setting, but brunch to avoid! 12.- for a basket consisting of a passable croissant, a slice of brioche, a slice of braid and a few slices of bread is really exaggerated. In addition, you have to constantly ask for bread because the portions are microscopic. As for the eggs benedict, they arrived cold... And the desserts: pancakes and French toast (French toast, which is actually a slice of brioche with jam) are just “passable”. We don't understand the enthusiasm for this establishment. We do much better at home and that's what we'll do next time!

Aggressive server We arrive on a Sunday morning with two people, we sit on the terrace, table seems perfectly available (NO sign of reservation), the waiter walks towards us, asks us to move and literally says the following sentences: Reserved table with an aggressive tone They say there is no sign that it is reserved He responds: it’s reserved in my head with an aggressive tone We ask him to speak kindly, he replies: that’s how it is here We left immediately very disgusted and very upset by this mediocre and aggressive welcome. It’s unfortunate 😭

One of the best addresses in Lausanne for quality moments.

Cozy atmosphere, fabulous cocktails, great wine list, delicious cheeseburger, nice selection of small plates, and yummy desserts. We've been here many times for brunch, lunch, apero, and dinner. Tonight everything was great except for the service. For dessert, we ordered an espresso and chocolate cake. The espresso came out first so we assumed the desert was coming within a few minutes and we waited. After 10 minutes of waiting for the dessert, we politely asked the server about the dessert because the espresso was getting cold. She rudely responded that it was our fault since we didn't specify we wanted the two together, and walked away leaving the cold espresso and still no dessert. We were shocked. Other restaurants normally bring the espresso at the same time as the dessert when they are ordered together, so we had no idea it was necessary to request this. Five minutes later (15 minutes after the espresso had been left on our table) they finally brought the dessert, which we enjoyed without the cold espresso. The server additionally took a 2nd opportunity to remind us, as we were paying, that the cold espresso again was OUR FAULT. We've always experienced wonderful service in Lausanne, so we were surprised by this unwillingness to serve us a hot espresso. If the restaurant is financially strained and really can't afford to replace a cold espresso, we would have been happy to pay twice to have a hot one. Needless to say, the server and her rude disposition left us disappointed, and lowered our pristine opinion of Cafe St. Pierre (or maybe our expectations were just too high for this restaurant).

A coffee. A little bohemian / university / trendy... But nothing more, nothing less

ON THE SIDE! We decided to go for brunch this Sunday. I repeated my experience which had not been incredible during my last visit. Indeed place on the side! Expensive, but that's not a problem when the quantity and quality are there. The quality is there, but the quantity is a disaster. 26.- for 2 poor brioche toasts with a slice of salmon and 1 egg per toast, a handful of salad in the middle. And 12.50.- for 2 tiny pancakes with nothing as an accompaniment (just cream, maple syrup and 3 currants). The service is slow... but a lot of people so understanding (a table identical to ours was served before us even though we had ordered before). The service how to explain...the waiters complain about having too many people, and attack us throughout the restaurant when we dare to ask them again. But as if we had something to do with it... Too many customers = more staff, the formula is magical. In short, poorly organized, quantity to be reviewed.

Yesterday, Sunday evening, drag evening with wonderful artists (Catherine D'Oex, La Big Bertha, la Diva Live, etc...) a lot of people so reservation required and to be done quickly, menu at CHF 75.- per person with starter, main course (3 courses to choose from) and dessert, really good and generous. very friendly and professional service.

We went there several times for brunch while the Café de Grancy is closed (due to work). No complaints. It's good and the service is friendly.

If you like old bread that tastes like the texture of a rock you’d maybe like it. Also highly recommended for beekeepers. Order jam and they will attack you in a split second. Luckily we got a table inside in the corner in front of the door and cloakroom

It was ok. Nothing special really or over the top. We ordered a hamburger and a salmon tartare. The hamburger it’s terrible constructed: bun, sauce,lettuce and then meet. Dear cooker, you have to know that by doing that the meet will sliiiiide from the bun off 😅 A disaster. But well, the tartare was good so the 3 stars. Service was ✅ . Location is good! Restaurant doesn’t have Air conditioner and was boiling hot (specially after ordering some beers/wine). Best of luck! But not returning.
