A true pearl with Austrian charm 👌. We enjoyed a wonderful break in Café Vienna and were enchanted by the Christmas decorations and the many family photos of Emperor Karl. It's nice that the café was open at Christmas and a big thank you to the staff who served us friendly despite the crowds.

We visited multiple times during our stay and were consistently pleased with the delicious offerings. While we opted for takeout, the location of Café Vienna cannot be ignored. Nestled on the shores of Lake Lucerne, the café's seating offers an awe-inspiring view of the lake and the majestic mountain peaks beyond. Whether for a leisurely dessert or a refreshing drink, this panoramic view is the perfect accompaniment, providing a serene backdrop to watch the boats lazily drift by. Contrary to a few reviews, we found the staff at Café Vienna to be an absolute delight. Their proficiency in English, friendliness, and willingness to adapt the menu to accommodate our requests were genuinely appreciated. We felt their warm welcome on each of our visits and were always greeted with a smile. In summary, Café Vienna offers the perfect trifecta of exceptional food, friendly service, and stunning views. It's a wonderful testament to the beauty of Swiss gastronomy and hospitality. For anyone in the Weggis, Hertenstein, or Vitznau areas, a stop at this café is an absolute must. We like to interrupt a boat trip on Lake Lucerne to visit Cafe Vienna. The menu gives a little insight into the world of Austrian culinary. Great.

We arrived at this place at 16:45 while waiting for our ferry leaving in half an hour (with our 1 year old baby). By the time we sat on a calm, sunny day; the waiter asked us to leave because it’s closed. We checked the timetable and it’s closing normally at 17.00. There were many empty tables but we were not even allowed to sit. So we left and sat on a bench next door. It’s weird, unfriendly and meaningless.

5 star fries - simply good. And I've already eaten a lot of fries!

Great location right on the lake. First of all, the building makes an interesting impression, it's a shame the garden chairs aren't very comfortable, even though they might look funny in all the colors. When it came to tea, I would have appreciated an earl gray or breakfast tea for a cafe, but they weren't available. The apricot cake I selected was quite dry, probably not from today. Since all the food is self-service, I think the price/performance ratio is too high. I also found the staff a bit unconventional, as they asked three times what I was drinking and still had to explain what a tea cream was. The same thing when ordering the cake, I'm sorry, but a tea cream and an apricot cake can't be that difficult to understand.

Yesterday I visited this place. It's a nice place with good food and friendly staff. The burger, Johannisbeere drink and Kaiserschmarrn were delicious.

Top location, fine, good, small offer

We wanted to enjoy an aperitif. When I asked about an open beer, I was very snidely told that "only bottled beer, as it says on the board". I was really speechless for the first time and asked the waitress if she liked working here. Then the upper hammer. she said to me "YOU CAN READ". Luckily we can do that and left the restaurant. I'm still speechless about this kind of hospitality

Another example of total unfriendliness in the CH gastronomy: it was pointed out in an extremely rude manner that it closed at 4:15 p.m., even though there was a notice outside at the tables saying that the Vienna team would be happy to serve you at the counter: they had already been to Vienna Ladies?

01/27/22 Was there briefly to soak up the sun. Wonderful location on the lake with mountain panorama. Ordered coffee and raspberry slices. The raspberry slice was delicious and was worth the Fr. 4.50. The staff was friendly, the location and garden space were perfect. Parking fee Fr. 2.--. Reachable by car or boat, boat dock in front of the door. Wheelchair accessible.

Super nice place to drink coffee, beer or the house drink johanna (see picture). The view is beautiful and you can really relax. Also the employees are friendly and always have a joke at hand.

Four stars are given for the location, the food and the friendly service, the sausage cheese salad was twice as big as in other places, and now there is also Kaiserschmarren... to complete the experience.

Self-service. But the cutlery is only completely dried before you are served. But the change is only returned after a long wait and then placed on the tray past my outstretched hand. Aperol was good though. Hence 3 stars

Self-service café/restaurant located directly on the lake. Attractive selection of ice cream, drinks and food. Friendly staff. Unfortunately, the cappuccino had a thick and solid milk foam topping and so it tasted more like a milk café than a cappuccino, so there was a star deduction.

Terrible service!!! DO NOT GO HERE. I stopped into this cafe for a refreshing drink after a long bike ride and the woman behind the counter was extremely rude. I asked for cranberry and soda. First she told me they don’t have cranberry juice. I saw a red bottle on the counter and asked what it was and she told me it was for kids. I asked if I could have that with some soda and she roled her eyes. She poured the drink along with a glass of water. When she rang up the bill she charged me $5 CHF for a glass of water, not a bottle. When I refused to pay for the glass she pulled back my cranberry and soda and the water and said too bad you can’t have anything then. They were so rude.

RUDE!!! We went for a bike ride from the Park Vitznau Hotel (which is absolutely incredible) and stopped in at Cafe Vienna for a drink and a snack. It is counter service and we went up and ordered a small piece of cake, a bit of cranberry juice with some soda and I asked for a bottle of water. They said they didn’t have bottled water and asked me if I wanted a glass of water instead so I said sure. When they rang up the bill the glass of water came out to 4.70CH. I can understand getting charged for a bottle of water but to charge for a glass of water is unreasonable. When I said that I wasn’t going to pay for the water he immediately grabbed the slice of cake and the cranberry soda and said “then you will get nothing”!! I’m Canadian and pretty well traveled and I can tell you that these people are just rude and shouldn’t be in the service industry. If I could give them zero stars I would. There are lots of other beautiful spots to eat and have coffee around there.
