Three floors stuffed with books and on the fourth, a friendly bright spot to enjoy an excellent cup of coffee, a sandwich or some pies or pastries - that about sums up the café at the University library in Basel. The prices are hard to beat at 2 francs for a fresh cup of coffee and a trifling 2.50 for a well-sized and nicely frothy cappuccino. During lunch hours (from about 11:30 to 2:00), there's also a small but very appetising salad bar with fresh bread (inclusive), a soup of the day and both a vegetarian and a non-vegetarian hot meal.And, thanks to being surrounded by windows, you benefit from a wide view and every last ray of the sun.

I ordered two pizzas online. No pizzas after 1.5 hours. My call - apparently no order arrived. Then the order was placed by phone. Address given twice. Then waited another hour. We wrote down the address incorrectly. Then we wanted to make new pizzas and send them off again. Came in 20 minutes. Pizzas completely COLD, soggy and zero taste. Sorry, that was my first and last order from Jakob Pizza!

Dornacherstrasse 154Unfortunately the service is very bad. Although I ordered a pizza via an online app, it was only after a phone call (after waiting for over an hour) that the owner announced that the delivery would not be worth it and would therefore cancel. The pizza was never delivered and the owner made no attempt to change this. Such an incident has never happened to me before on the online food ordering app.
