Cool music, great service. Next door is the harbor pub, perfect location! The food is really good and there is good music playing. Moods are very pleasant and you feel good!

Drinks only 3 selections available according to waiter. We found a hair in a quesadilla. Despite saying three times that we wanted to take the food with us and him saying yes, he brazenly threw the dirty napkins on the food that was taken away. This waiter was rude and clearly not trained.

I have travelled in Mexico for two months....I was expecting authentic Mexican food. Quite disappointing. Good if you are looking for a TexMex style burrito.

I've been there several times and they have one of the best burritos I've ever eaten. All of this at a reasonable price. You can choose the ingredients yourself and watch the preparation. The ambience is great. It's designed more as a fast food restaurant, but real Mexicans work there too. Absolute recommendation from me!

Nice little restaurant with very friendly service and great burritos

One positive: Guacamole was good Otherwise, this is a poor imitation of Mexican fast food. Sugar should never be used in tomato based salsas, ingredients were sparse (aside from the rice where there was far too much of), dry & totally lacking in flavor + unevenly dispensed in the burrito. The tortilla chips were over processed and inedible - like bottom of the barrel off brand quality. If you know what Mexican, Californian Mexican and Tex-Mex food tastes like, I recommend to avoid this spot and choose some other options in town.

Well priced burrito and very tasty. I come here regularly to grab a burrito for lunch. Note that "spicy" is Swiss spicy.

This is a minimalistic burrito place in Zurich and does what it does well. I feel like I can get full while eating food with real ingredients here. I also found slightly cheaper than some of the surrounding restaurants. I do find the fact there is another restaurant named Cartell within a 5 minute walk super confusing.

I really like it. I’ve been going since they opened and I think it’s great. I only wish they had more vegetarian options than just grilled vegetables. Some planted chicken or pork would be cool. Also, I don’t go that often, so I might have missed it, but I don’t remember ever seeing their menu change or for them to have a “special” at any time.

For the first time since moving to Switzerland four years ago, I finally found a place, aside from making it myself, to satisfy my craving for authentic Mexican food. I grew in San Diego, California amongst Mexicans and just over the border from Mexico where I have been countless times so I’m quite discerning about this cuisine. I’m always a bit skeptical about trying Mexican food anywhere in Europe because it’s never as flavorful or complex as what I’ve grown accustomed to, but to my surprise Cartel hit the mark and satisfied my palate. They don’t offer a lot of variety but what they do offer, they’ve done well. It was surprisingly tasty, portions and price were reasonable and the staff was exceptionally welcoming. Will definitely visit and indulge here again. On a side note, the chili chocolate bites is not necessarily traditionally Mexican, but yummy nonetheless.

Very friendly little Mexican restaurant. So I felt totally transported to Mexico with the loving facility and the friendly and friendly staff. You have your desired burrito put together at the counter, grab a drink of your choice from the fridge, sit down at one of the tables and enjoy the wonderful flavors of Mexico. Also highly recommended are the Spicy Choco Bites for dessert. They are really nice and spicy and the lime peel gives them an unexpected nuance of flavor. Thanks to the Cartel team for the short trip to Mexico.

Great place! I love how there are really only two options to choose from burrito or plate. We all ordered chicken and the combination of all the toppings, protein, and sauces were great. Very flavourful and large portion sizes. The margarita was also delicious and it looked beautiful as well. They are also very service oriented and friendly which I appreciate here in Zurich. It’s right on the city centre so I highly recommend to check this place out if you haven’t already.

Small, fine Mexican restaurant with a fairly small selection. Burritos or tacos, nothing more. We had 2 burritos and 2 Pacifico Clara for a whopping CHF 52.- not bad, I ate in Mexico for almost a week for that money, and then even better. The food was bland and unseasoned. There is no Mexican feeling there, like in most “Mexican” restaurants. A pity.

If you love real Mexican food, you have to go to Cartel! Especially good: tacos! The atmosphere is in no way inferior to the original in Mexico.

The food was very tasty and the portion was more than enough. 🍴🧑‍🍳 Only the burrito could be a little warmer for my taste. The price is also quite reasonable, it's Zurich and therefore generally rather expensive. Above all, we found the ambience and furnishings very nice and appropriate 👍🏻

I highly recommend the beef burrito. It's filling and tasty. I think there are also vegan and vegetarian options, so every customer segment is covered as well as possible. Employees always friendly. Price performance is also right and you have enough choice to put together your burrito.

The tacos really taste Mexican, so much so, that I celebrate my birthdays and any other important occasions there. Did I mention that I am Mexican myself? And the staff is so nice, friendly, some are always smiling. A favorite of mine.

Very fresh and large portion. Can also be eaten in the bar next door (harbour pub) as it is the same owner.

Good restaurant with fair prices for a burrito in Zurich. Not really an extensive vegetarian menu - other burrito restaurants such as Zapote offer much more options. However chicken burrito was very good. Location is a bit "dark" and noisy during peak time over lunch.

Lightning fast service combined with rich and fresh flavors. I don't give 5 stars only because it was a bit too dark inside, which made the atmosphere a bit less joyful. However, it's a matter of preference. All ingredients are of good quality and well prepared. Also a condiment like the coriander did its part.

Seriously good and substantive food, and authentic Mexican and South American drinks. Would like the menu to expand to include appetizers and even some soups or stews. Currently, there are limitations on space due to Zürich business space rental issues which are beyond the scope of the shop's control. But hope fully that will change, since this is a welcome addition to the "wraps and Mexican Food niches". If you want an "alternative Subway" burrito or tacos, this is the place to be!!

Service staff extremely unfriendly, burrito tastes mediocre for the high price (even without meat). Drinks too expensive but free at the beginning. When I wasn't ready to order, the cashier shouted at me in a very unfriendly tone that I had to move forward even though no one was standing in line behind me. Very disappointed

Now open on weekends too! I like the burrito because the portion size is large and the seasoning is not too strong. The staff are also friendly :)

Good burritos, price range 15-25chf

Cool atmosphere, the food is just the right size to fill you up. The burritos are damn tasty.

Very tasty burritos that are also available in a vegetarian version thanks to meat substitutes. Outside there is a narrow courtyard to the side of the restaurant with shady outdoor seating and a few hungry-looking sparrows :) The staff was also very friendly. Question: Did the tortilla chips as a side dish (see picture) really cost CHF 7.50? Because overall the price including 2 drinks was around CHF 27.

The selection of fillings is manageable - this makes ordering at the counter easier. The burritos are good, but not outstanding. The portion is good. Nice selection of beers. I wouldn't necessarily come back. Something special is missing.

One of the best in Zurich. Various meat options and also vegetarian. My favorite is the naked burrito (no tortilla) like a salad bowl when you want something lighter and lettuce based. I like that you can pick the ingredients you want vs. set ingredients. Amazing amount of hot sauces by the bottle, in addition to their homemade ones. Fun to try them all. Cute atmosphere and great staff.

No-fuss burrito restaurant. The food must be ordered at the checkout. Very friendly employees in each case. The selection is limited, but the food is always delicious. Ideal for take-away or to eat spontaneously on site.

Small place with a tiny garden where you can have your meal. You can assemble a burrito however you want, choosing from fresh and authentic ingredients. In addition to burritos, there are nachos, tacos and some desserts. The service is very fast and the prices are reasonable. Near the restaurant there are several parks where you can eat in peace.

The meat was tasty and the hot sauce was good. Rice and beans had no salt and food in general was cold, which was a pity. Portions are ok for the price. The place is not a hit, nothing fancy but ok for a very quick bite or take away

So good! Definitely the best burrito I’ve had in Europe! I’m American and Europe doesn’t do burritos like over there but this place definitely checks out!

I was on my way to another restaurant which was unfortunately closed on Monday so I decided to pay a visit to this place. I have to say that I was positively surprised. I found a good, friendly, English-speaking customer service and pretty good food. The premises looked nice and prices were fair, perhaps even below average when compared to other similar restaurants nearby. Having said that, as a vegan, the options seem to be very limited for me. They have only one vegetarian option in the menu which they can make vegan upon request but that’s it, which means that there’s effectively only one item I could have in the whole menu. Overall, it’s definitely a good restaurant worth visiting but they should improve their vegan offering.

Amazing authentic Mexican food and the nicest staff!

I thought my personal visit to the Cartel was great. Very fast service and the beloved Jaritos, which I like. Delivered to my company, my buddies were less than pleased. They were looking forward to the chicken burrito, as well as the chicken bowl. I tried it... unfortunately not as good as my beef burrito. If the food comes cool, it loses its taste. It's a shame... We will order somewhere else in the future. But the burrito definitely tastes good on site.

Small but nice, a cool restaurant with a really good concept. In the meantime, my daughter and her friends were here for her birthday and the service, from accepting my reservation via email to the lovingly prepared cake for dessert, was really unexpected. Bravo for the attention to detail.
