Migros BINZ in Zürich

I was actually a regular at Zapote and am not someone who likes to write reviews, BUT, after I had stomach problems after my last visit and had to complain about my bowl of chicken today due to a spoiled meat smell, I can no longer recommend this shop to anyone with the best will in the world.

Does not accept cash. Sometimes it is difficult to communicate with employees. Price/performance is okay for Zurich. The food is usually pretty good.

Unfortunately, the burritos are cold to lukewarm at best, even when served as a bowl. And the tortillas stick to the paper. Bread stuck when I rolled it out.

One of my favourite places for lunch around this area. Burrito is really rich, you can have your additions to the base burrito, and also the bowl looks good. It is also rolled up perfectly so you don't spread it on the table while eating. My favourite is the "mucho macho" burritos. The service is good and fast.

Zapote is a must for anyone working in the Binz area. Well located and easily accessible from the offices close by. The food is served quickly and the outdoor seating is an enjoyable place to spend your lunch break in the summer. The food is delicious and there are a wide variety of menus, ingredients and meals to choose from. Have eaten here many times and never been disappointed.

The service didn't convince me; the burritos were put together relatively dispassionately and there was no friendly smile to the customers. The veggie burrito was all drenched in sauce, very soggy and tasteless, pretty bland.

Great service, fast processing and brilliant food! We had an internal sustainability event at Swisscom where Planted came and, together with Zapote, we were able to have several Planted Burrito variants delivered and, after Planted's input, test the taste live on site. The burrito tasted very good and none of us had any complaints. Would come again and again. Thanks for the great service and the better food!

There is a large selection of bowls, burritos and salads here. We had a California Love Burrito and it was amazing. There is also a small burrito for children. The price is fair and the burrito doesn't look huge, but it's filling. On a nice day you can also sit outside.

Very good food, the staff is polite and helpful. Prices are ok, very suitable as a quick lunch during the lunch break. Hardly any waiting time, good selection of dishes, different levels of spiciness, well marked.

This was my first time at Zapote and I will definitely go again! I can recommend the CALIFORNIA LOVE BURRITO, the taste is simply great. It has various burritos/bowls and also salads. At lunchtime there is the combo menu where tortilla chips and a sauce are included, as well as a 0.5 liter drink. The price/performance ratio is more than consistent, very fair for Zurich and the food not only fills you up but also tastes good. Next time I'll add a picture, this time the burrito was already gone :D. You can also create your own burrito if one of the preselected ones doesn't fit.

The menu is a bit confusing at first. I just stopped overanalyzing and bought some burritos.

There are Mexican dishes here that can be varied with various ingredients. I liked it very much.

I've been to Zapote Essen several times and tried the various delicious burittos and bowls and can recommend them all. The team is very nice and I also really like the location. Zapote is always recommended for a visit! See you next time.

I come from the Silicon Valley and live nearby so have been curious about this place. Bottom line: one of the better burritos I've had in ZH, but pricing is a problem, made worse by trickery. They use a sneaky and unethical deception with their menu, which is unlike a normal menu that shows a full price for an item. Here, they offer a "solo burrito" (top of the menu) for a whopping 13.90 plus numerous options each showing their respective additional price (much farther down), like the Vegi Grande which shows +2Sfr, making their basic vegi burrito cost 15.90, but nowhere on the menu do you see that number, so psychologically you feel it's a better deal. This is a trick. Imagine a (real) restaurant menu showing a note at the top "all our dishes cost Sfr20 plus the individual options below" where next to Spaghetti Bolognese you see Sfr4... Seems like a great deal, all these tiny numbers... I asked for the "Solo burrito" and was told that doesn't exist, "But it says right there, it's 13.90" I say, but No. Sorry. This is fast food. Wait in line, counter service, no table service, etc. My Vegi Grande was good but cost 2.5X my fav burrito from Zona Rosa in San Francisco (now closed) where life ain't cheap but until recently they still sold their basic vegi for less than $7, plus chips & salsa, and it's bigger, too. I got not chips with my 16Sfr vegi. Chips and salsa here cost 4.90 so a real comparison means 6.50 vs 20.80 or 3.2X the real CA vegi burrito. With a drink you're paying 25Sfr for fast food! Down the street they sell wraps for 10... I'm glad they don't wrap with aluminum which is then trashed instead of recycled like most other places, so that's good. They sell a home-made syrup "tea" drink in a throw-away plastic cup for almost 4Sfr. Ouch. They should ALL follow Hiltl's lead and offer water for free. Finally, the workers are on per du with their customers, which isn't acceptable in other restaurants or shops or anywhere else, so why is it okay here?

The quality of orders has decreased significantly. The quantity has been reduced quite a bit and recently even ingredients were missing… hope things get better again…

Had vegan and was very tasty, price wise rather expensive.

The food is very good (4 stars). There is a deduction due to the current implementation of the certificate requirement. The fact that you can only eat indoors with a certificate is dictated “from above”. They can't do anything about it. What bothers me is that people who don't have a certificate and eat outside are told that in this case they will only get their food in cheap "carton take-away dishes". Normal dishes are only available if you have a certificate (even if you sit outside). However, the staff do not wear masks.

I have lived in Los Angeles CA and enjoyed many a truly authentic and delicious beef burrito. The mucho macho beef burrito combo that I ordered today cost nearly 22 Francs and contained a meager quantity of beef, and some bacon. It should be called the "Mini and Not At All MaChO". My wife got the skinny chicken combo which she reported as being too salty, I sampled it and I would have to agree. During assembly no options were offered by staff. Despite being almost empty we felt rushed. My wife was not told that there are a variety of salad sauces and was only offered honey mustard. After realising this, when my wife changed her mind at the cash counter, the change of sauce request wasn't received warmly by the staff members, they appeared visibly displeased.

It's a shame that you're not open despite the terrace and take-away option - do you intend to change that? miss you :-)

Unfortunately not convincing. We had two burritos - the meat (flank steak!) was extremely dry and everything was soaked in sauce. Of the fresh ingredients behind the counter, you can only get iceberg lettuce - everything else is only available upon request. The veggie burrito has a lot of mayonaise and very salty chimichurri - the freshness of vegetables is gone. The staff is friendly and the store is clean.

Tasty but very small portions for good eaters. Recommend the bowl: I have the feeling there's more in it, but maybe I'm being deceived by the higher price...

Great restaurant in Binz. The burritos and burrito bowls are world class. Relatively expensive, as the restaurant is self-service and you have to clear up yourself. Depending on who prepares the bowls, the portions are decent, sometimes a bit small for the price. Points can be collected using Poinz and then used for free drinks and chips. We often come to Zapote at lunchtime, depending on the time you have to queue for 10-15 minutes. I've always had room to eat there. The staff are friendly and accommodating.

Burritos are okay. Today I tried the pulled pork burger. The bread was already a few days old - crumbled, fell apart and was dry. The meat didn't taste fresh and was cold. So you couldn't eat the burger in any way. When I asked the staff if there was anything they could do, an employee simply wrote "Voucher 15.90" on the back of the receipt. Without stamp! I'm curious whether this so-called voucher will be valid when I come back in a month. Unprofessional. I have attached a photo of the burger.

Sensational! Great concept and best buritos in town! Fresh products and always top quality! The staff is always friendly and, despite the high customer frequency, always prepared and helpful! Relatively busy so I recommend ordering before 12 p.m.

Was here for the first time today, pretty much by chance. We just wanted to have a quick drink because we had an appointment in 20 minutes. Christiane said she could easily make us something tasty to eat quickly, so we actually managed it. Great service and very tasty and fresh. Thanks!

Mucho macho and Hungry cowboy are my favourite burritos. Ask for macho size to get extra meat (2chf)

Mediocre food for mediocre prices. If you really like burritos, you should try it out, otherwise I personally wouldn't necessarily recommend it.

Update: I ate here about a month ago and complained about the slow service. Today I went out to eat again at Zapote in Binz and hereby replace my review: The service today was great. You have to wait in line for a while, but that's normal at Zapote. But this time we were inside and outside again in 10-15 minutes. These are absolutely acceptable conditions. The food is absolutely fantastic. Local farmers, fresh vegetables, great sauces and salsas, crispy chips, it's always a pleasure to eat here. You are more than full after eating and the service is also very friendly and attentive despite the high stress factor. That's how I know Zapote! I'm thrilled and we will come back with the office often.

Neither Burritos are Californian, nor are there any Mexicans in Zurich. 100% fake and bad fast-food. Good terrace, though.

Food quality is getting worse, alas. Was very convenient. I suppose nobody controls what clients get. Then it's not surprising.

Oily buritto at Zurich prices is all I can say. Not bad but not something I will be back for.

Today instead of salat got a box of oil. Lot of oil inside, oil get thru the box, all contents is in oil. Attempt to remove excessive oil didn't succeed (look at paper towels full of oil) -- it's impossible to remove everything, it's tasteless and only oil, nothing else.

Instead of drawing our attention to the fact that the shop closes at 3 p.m., they turned off the lights at 2:55 p.m. and started vacuuming around us. Also a variant to drive away customers. Good Job!

Always very friendly and if all the ingredients are not available towards the end of opening hours, a “freestyle” burrito is mixed up. I think it's great... definitely in the top third in terms of price, but the quality is good.

Good food. A bit pricey for what it is, but that's Zurich.

The buritos are great and very filling. Considering that it's self-service and you can clear it yourself, it's a bit expensive for the young (the cheapest one is 15.00). Nevertheless, the quality is excellent and therefore very affordable.

I also tried this branch. Everything is correct. Cool staff with that extra feel-good factor. Had a chilango chicken salad. Awesome thing.

It is a real Tex mex, burritos are nice and filing also they are very fast and friendly. One of the best places in Zurich binz for lunch, other than that is impossible to try it since it closes very early and they don’t open for dinners , they also offer breakfast but I haven’t tried it yet

One of the best places for lunch in Binz, and my favourite burritos in Zürich so far! The Big Boy with pulled-pork and bacon is an absolute winner! Poinz is also available here, but the reward of 'a free side of tortilla chips and salsa' after purchasing 10 burritos isn't very rewarding. Barburrito, a comparable burrito chain in the UK, offers a free burrito after your 10th purchase.

Ich betreibe sehr viel Sport und es ist eine gesunde alternative zum normalen "Kraftsportessen"..Die Holländische Bedienung war ausserordentlich freundlich und ich musste nur 2min warten auf mein Essen und war schon wieder auf meinem Weg nach Hause.Ich werde es bestimmt wöchentlich besuchen:))

Este lugar me pareció mucho como el chipotle. Yo tenía un burrito y se hizo en "la línea de montaje". La comida era deliciosa y barato comparado con otras opciones en Zurich. Este lugar no ha sido abierta que larga y que probablemente representa el bajo número de comentarios.

Zuviel Reis, Zuviel Beans zu wenig Fleisch und von der scharfen Salsa hatte ich gar nichts gespürt obwohl ich zusätzlich mehr Salsa wollte. I loooove their freestyle salads, so fresh and yummy. Even when busy, the service is quite fast. Good prices too for the portions.

I know the Zapote in Wallisellen and have always been enthusiastic about the fresh, delicious food and, above all, the friendly service/staff - actually worth 5 stars. I've been to this branch twice now and I have to say that in Binz they're lagging behind - the portion was MINI and the staff didn't even respond to my questions or criticisms. Exactly the same with my colleague. I hope the owner comes back to the store more often, because I know that he would certainly have different ideas about service and guest satisfaction.

Wir haben bei Zapote Binz bestellt für unseren Lunch im Büro für knapp 30 Personen. Alle waren restlos begeistert von der guten Qualität und des hervorragenden Geschmacks der Burritos und Salate. Ich wurde von über der Hälfte sofort angefragt von welchem Restaurant ich bestellt habe und alle baten mich es bald wieder zu tun.Das Essen wurde pünktlich geliefert und die Burritos waren noch warm.Auch Mario des Zapote-Teams ist super zuvorkommend und die Bestellung ging reibungslos über die Bühne.Ich kann nur sagen: Ihr seid top!! Weiter so!

Acceso con transporte público Tranvía S10 desde la estación principal de tren de Zúrich a Binz (4 minutos). Hay una gran zona exterior con patio con muchas mesas y sillas de mimbre todos protegidos por sombrillas o a la sombra de los árboles. Son en su mayoría de madera mesas dentro y sillas, mesas altas y sillas, y vi un taburete alto para bebés.Hay música de fondo, un poco demasiado ruidoso a veces. Ellos no ofrecen conexión Wi-fi, ya que su ubicación wallisellen. El almuerzo empieza a las 11. 30 y el lugar es ocupado por 11. 45.Pedí el Delgado Chick (14 Burrito. 90 CHF) y comparado con su similar del producto wallisellen este fue un poco decepcionante. No como mucho sabor y el arroz estaba blanda para el burrito para tener una consistencia pegajosa y empalagoso.Yo no era capaz de conseguir el crédito poinz para hoy, pero que era más probable debido a problemas con mi mano. Creo que me Quédate con su ubicación o esperar a su wallisellen pronto para abrir Ubicación cerca Lowenstrasse en el corazón de la ciudad.Los servicios estaban limpios y el personal estaba bien.

Way above average. They try to interpret California style burritos for Swiss tastes, mostly with good results. Their very nice carnitas make me wish for shredded beef (machca) or chicken. My only real complaint is their hours, 7am-3pm and only on weekdays. This is fine for local business folk and high school students, but sad for local residents who would like to have a burrito for dinner or on a weekend. They serve bagels, gipfels etc for breakfast. I had a marvelous carnitas and guacamole bagel. Sadly, no breakfast burritos yet. Something to do with their perception of Swiss tastes.
