Very disappointing !! To escape we don't feel safe there

I actually really like the Aurelio. Today I wanted to give my wife a special evening for Valentine's Day. Since I made the reservation late, there was only room in the Fumoire. Until then everything is fine. It's a shame that a completely drunk regular guest there enjoys every privilege and was able to act like the biggest a...hole, insult and humiliate guests and control the music very loudly via his cell phone. After repeatedly asking the boss to give us another table, he replied: I'm sorry, unfortunately I can't do anything. Well, we won't soon forget this evening as Valentine's Day. It's a shame, great restaurant, good food, but money rules the world, unfortunately...

This restaurant has exceptional food and service. However, the management should decide if they continue to be a restaurant or become a nightclub. We had to leave the restaurant and food on our plates as we couldn’t stand the laud music they were playing. Nightclub style.. We requested the music to be turned do do that we could finish our food. They refused. Not appropriate! for the level of restaurant they wish to be. Sadly, We will not return nor will our friends.

I have been visiting Casa Aurelio in Zurich with my family for 10 years and we are always treated as nicely as at home. The food is always perfect and the service is just great. The chicken is particularly recommended. It is juicy and tender and has a great taste. The atmosphere is cozy and wonderful. It is decorated in Spanish style and offers a unique atmosphere. I would definitely recommend visiting Casa Aurelio if you are in the area.

Expensive but receiving another complementary serving helps, you don't leave hungry!

Very nice and courteous staff. For me, however, the price-performance ratio is not right. The food is presented carelessly and the interior is, in my opinion, a little dated. The outside area doesn't look like a restaurant in this price range either. The food is good, but I've eaten much better. I think you could use a lot with just a little.

Despite a confirmed reservation, we were not “given” a table. Quote from the waiter "go for an aperitif and try to come later" Another restaurant in Zurich that doesn't need it

Lively ambience, delicious food

The food is absolutely delicious and the customer service is warm and welcoming. They serve authentic Spanish dishes that are sure to satisfy your cravings.

Excellent food (although very, very expensive!!!), the service is friendly and friendly! The ventilation in the house leaves a lot to be desired. After a long lunch, my clothes were soaked with cigarette smoke. It took me days until the smell from my leather coat disappeared. All other clothes had to be cleaned externally. The in-house smoking room is probably very poorly insulated and emits the smell into the restaurant. A pity!! As a non-smoker, this is a clear NO-GO! I hope the situation improves quickly - otherwise this will be my first, only and last visit!

Top restaurant. The Taglierini with lobster ragout were world class

A classic. For 30 years. Some of the best (Spanish) food and service in town.

It was average at best. I can understand the charm of having live music and fun wall murals but it didn't make up for the average food and rude waiters. Not worth the price in my opinion.

$$$$$ 3 people, CHF 750.-, good food but overpriced. + Good food, very good Jamon Iberico, top veal chop + Mariachis were only there for a short time, but it was a great moment + Friendly service, friendly boss - When asked “Should I bring some starters?”, to which we answered “yes”, the waiter brought us starters for a whopping CHF 220.- (for 3 people!). So starters for 70.- per person! This is completely overpriced and not worthy of an appetizer. - The very small porcini mushroom starter (=simply fried porcini mushrooms) was CHF 27.- - 1 tequila shot costs an incredible 20.-! I have never had to pay so much for a tequila shot in Monaco, New York or Miami. - The waiter charged us for things we didn't consume. All in all a nice evening, but it was overpriced for the service received. There are better restaurants where the main focus is not (only) on finances.

Arif is one of the best hosts in Zurich!

Overall good experience! We tried mostly meat, the veal Kotelett from the grill that was really juicy and tender! We were not really impressed from desert and pasta also were not excellent. The service is good and the atmosphere really nice because they play live music! Prices are normal CH high prices so be prepared for that! Overall nice experience!

Great Food and Recommended, Despite Some Shortcomings Rating: 4.5 Stars I recently dined at this restaurant and had an overall positive experience. The food served was excellent, living up to its reputation. The flavors were rich, the ingredients fresh, and the presentation was impressive. It's safe to say that the culinary aspect of this establishment is its highlight. However, I did encounter a couple of areas that could use improvement. Firstly, the service was a bit aggressive. The staff seemed hurried and somewhat pushy at times, which created a slightly uncomfortable atmosphere. A more relaxed and friendly approach would have enhanced the overall dining experience. Another issue I noticed was the cramped outdoor seating arrangement. The tables were too close to each other, resulting in limited personal space. Perhaps reorganizing the layout or expanding the space for outdoor seating could alleviate this concern. Despite these minor drawbacks, the restaurant is still highly recommended. Very expensive, not great value for money. Then suddenly 50Cent is playing while I'm eating. Was a little irritating. Waiters add items to the bill that were not consumed.

Fantastic restaurant! On Saturday evening there is a magical atmosphere with musicians who create a great atmosphere. First class food! An absolute recommendation.

We were there with 6 people. Enjoying a meal comfortably in a smoking dining room was a joy. All dishes are recommended. This restaurant is an institution in Zurich. Reservation is recommended.

We had a very nice experience. The place has a holiday vibe - busy, a bit noisy, live music, friendly service, great food and a very good selection of wine. We ordered paella and got very positively surprised when we got 2 plates per person. When I asked why, the answer was to ensure the food stays warm. Thanks Casa Aurelio!

We decided spontaneously. As you know and expect. Perfectly served in service by Jose. Also received a warm welcome from all other colleagues. Food couldn't be better! Monkfish with herbs and hand-cut French fries. Simply MEGA! And finally Crema Catalana😋😋coming soon!!!

Price/performance/taste doesn't fit at all. Orange juice 1 dl CHF 8.00 Zurich sliced ​​CHF 59.00 (who can explain/accept this in a meaningful way?) It's really no better than other places, but almost twice as expensive. I would be ashamed. So many waiters walking around unnecessarily and creating an uneasy atmosphere. Never again !

Table reserved and confirmed 3 weeks in advance. When we arrived at the restaurant, they didn't know anything about our reservation. The group that entered the restaurant after us had exactly the same problem.

A total disaster - we went with colleagues and we have been told that if we are not selecting the menu, we will be served the latest - the price was awfully expensive and quality really average - the timing between tapas and main course was 1h 10 minutes and their main job was to serve wines to cash money - to avoid at any price - supposed to be trendy but in reality a real robery

We reserved 3 weeks in advance and then there was no space. Unfortunately insufficient. Customer friendliness looks different. Afterwards, a group that also didn't make a reservation came and got a place.

There were ten of us here with the team and the food was excellent. “The beef fillet Casa Aurelio Especial” was cooked perfectly medium. The mixed seafood plate and paella from the neighbors also looked good. In my opinion, the insider tip is the prawns.

nice atmosphere BUT some rude waiters, propose off the menu dishes and then charge you a horrendous sum (110 per person for truffle pasta); on the bill all drinks are listed as the same so no control is possible; wrong wine on the bill, 40 more than the ordered one - this restaurant is a ripp-off. stay away.

Special restaurant with live music and a good atmosphere

Yesterday we spontaneously attended with a group. And we are thrilled, the service is very top and professional. The food is simply very, very good. In addition, the live music was simply great, we never had such an atmosphere on vacation in Mexico. You sing along and show joy of life. All guests have fun. Simply great. The price is certainly higher, more in the upper range. But it's 100% worth it. I'll definitely come back to you with my wife for a great evening. Thank you for this hospitality. TOP TOP

The best restaurant. The waiter, Manolo, was very friendly. The most beautiful Spanish restaurants in Zurich. His paella is one of the most famous Spanish dishes. I prefer this order for fish only. And the apple pie is amazing after eating. The ambiance of the restaurant is amazingly decorated. Very normal, though. It gives you the old Spanish character that would bring me back to the restaurant. I recommend visiting. Thank you

Probably no longer an insider tip, because the food here is really good. The prices are relatively high, but the cuisine on offer is really good. The wines are also excellent. The service is also convincing and you feel very well looked after.

Casa Aurelio is a true icon of Zurich's gastronomic scene. The Spanish restaurant is one of the very few in Zurich to offer valet service, so it can be easily reached by car or train. The menu and wine list offer a large selection of delicious dishes. My favorites are the mixed tapas as a starter and the beef fillet with green pepper and risotto as a main course. The homemade cakes are the sweet highlight. My favorite wine is Mauro 2019. Definitely try it.

It's just a rather higher price range, the food is good, I'm not so sure whether it justifies the price. You will be really encouraged to party and it will definitely be a great evening. We definitely had fun

The seven of us celebrated my son's graduation last Friday, and it was actually my first time at Aurelio. As others write, the waiters nudge you a bit in the direction you want to choose, i.e. I didn't have a menu in my hand all evening, but we slowed down when we thought it was too much Good. It was almost a bit decadent what was served and how many waiters looked after us. Even the two guitar players somehow pleased me, although table music like that usually annoys me (it almost doesn't exist anymore). I really enjoyed the food and wine, and our main waiter was very attentive for four hours. In the end, however, we had to leave an arm and a leg behind as payment, but if you have something to celebrate or want to go wild, you're in good hands at Aurelio.

This restaurant does not care about making good food or making you feel welcome, it’s only about taking as much money out of you as possible. Even after flagging that the wine we ordered was twice on the bill, there was no apology, just a scruff. I do not understand where the good ratings come from. Must be from friends or something.

I loved this place. It is hidden and this makes it unique. There is a person playing guitar sometimes and that makes it special. The weather was pleasant, the Staff very friendly and generous, the Paella was delicious, the Gin & Tonic very well served. It is worth visiting, you should book in advance as it is always busy.

Zurich prices on steroids....but nothing to fault on the quality of the meat and the wine list...delicious dishes with copious portions (dare I say American-like?) full of flavour, perfectly cooked... Spanish wine was wonderful complement to the veal...overall a very pleasant experience....just clear it with your banker before going :)

There were four of us, we had two bottles of the house wine, we all shared the tapas as a starter, then one main course each. The bill was just under 850.- which in my opinion was not justified for what we were offered. Conclusion: Tasty but way too expensive. Other places offer much more for the same price.

Best spanish Restaurant in Town!!!

No question, the food is good. Not very good or even exceptional, but good. The service is incredibly sales-oriented. We were a group of 7 people, after 10 minutes I had to reprimand the waiter that we were now at the starter and did NOT want to be asked for the third time whether we would like asparagus as an intermediate course. 2 minutes later this unpleasant person came and asked again. So I had to say that we forego the intermediate course. The main courses are okay. Conclusion: The restaurant is still in the 90s. If you want to be worth something, you go there to get attention. The typical restaurant for “big faces” and “easy ladies”. The prices for food and wine are not justified. Anyone who wants to experience the dust of Zurich or a journey into the past is in good hands. If you want to pamper yourself with culinary delights... any modern neighborhood pub is the better place for you.

Great service and very good food. Anything else would not be acceptable given the prices. But some of the prices were really created with a lot of ambition and little shame 😉 If you want something special, a visit can be absolutely worth it.
