very expensive italian food that is good but not crazy good. mozarella di buffala on some fennel is 18 bucks, for this price the mozarella could have at least a decent size. pannacotta is very good an fluffy

Service attentive, friendly, fast and competent. Ambience very nice, but unfortunately very tight seating. Pulpo salad is fresh and tasty, braised meat is good but a little too salty, white wine risotto has a great consistency but could also do with a little more salt. I like to come back again and again for the homemade gnocchi, whether with tomato or gorgonzola, they are the best I know! Desserts are all great, gladly again!

The staff is very charming. The atmosphere remains to be discovered, the restaurant is very large. The wine list is small but there are lots of new wines to discover. Small detail if you like Italian cold cuts cut to order, go and discover this very good one.

This restaurant is the reason why you shouldn't just give everyone 5 stars. Here, low key, without any fanfare, the work is done extremely well, from the service to the dessert, everything is uncomplicated and extremely solid.

The "homemade" ravioli looked and tasted like it came from a can. The service was nice, but we had to wait a long time for the food (lunch menu). The ambience didn't make it any better: loud and like a canteen. Overall, a big disappointment for everyone at our table.

Super delicious food! I had the marrow bone and the ravioli con brasato. I can't remember the last time I was so overwhelmed at an Italian restaurant in Switzerland! Bravo! The prices are certainly on the high side, but I think that's common in Zurich. For me the price-performance ratio is right. I'd love to come back!

The food was excellent, as well as a nicely decorated restaurant. Service leaves a lot to be desired. After just 15 minutes, the service boss complained that my table would only be occupied for a maximum of 2 hours because, among other things, my companion was late. The service staff mostly just stood around and wasn't really attentive.

Very good antipasti (various salami and cheese) and sensational, fluffy gnocchi with gorgonzola and radicchio.

Very good experience, on a business trip to Zurich, a local person of Italian origin took us to this restaurant, the cuisine is perfect, the flavors remind me of vacations in Sicily. The staff is very pleasant and the atmosphere is nice. THANKS.

I used to love this place, its garden, local cheeses and charcuterie as well as local speciality Italian foods… but the quality of the staff and food has decreased beyond belief. Our bone marrow had bone splinters in it. We advised staff several times. They solution was to take 20% of the price (rather than not charge). They got the second course wrong (beef instead of local pork neck). In addition, the meat seemed like it made it directly from the fridge to the grill (unevenly grilled). Again, the solution was discount prices on the the original beef (we never ordered) price. Our constructive feedback was neither well received nor handled well on the bill. I’ll keep the memories of when it was good, but won’t return. Edit: someone from the restaurant did reach out to me and tried to make things right so that effort was much appreciated.

📝 Nice surprise this Italian restaurant in Zurich. From the somewhat basic name I was initially skeptical but I must say that the menu offers typical Italian dishes that are difficult to find in other restaurants, so very good. The service is also good. 🍴 We tried several mixed appetizers, including cheeses, cold cuts, bread balls and mozzarella knots. The quality of the food is excellent, but they could have been more generous with the cold cuts. As my main course I had spaghetti with lobster: good and ready to be eaten without having to shell anything. For dessert I had the bunet and it was delicious. 📍 It can be reached by walking for 5 minutes from Zurich central station. The interior is really nice and the place was quite full, giving a nice atmosphere too.

I had fond memories of Italy. The staff stood around and we weren't served properly. Unfortunately the food was cold. Everything is far too expensive. A pity.

Italy is Italy. I go there regularly at midday and it never disappoints. Italian menus with lots of variety. No pizza, you go to Italia for the environment and the excellent Italian cuisine at affordable prices.

Great service but the food was underseasoned and super bland. The wine selection is great and also a sommelier who knows what he is talking about.

I think it's the worst fake Italian place in the world, rude staff from all over the world except Italy, the smell of smoke inside the place is unbearable.

No more!! My Spaghetti Amatriciana disaster! Sauce was a mass that had probably been treated with a hand blender! Nothing of bacon or fried onions etc. My companion's costine was like boiled meat in broth!! I'll definitely never come back!!

The food is alright, to be honest I’ve had better true Italian experiences in Zurich. The waiter was a bit unknowledgeable about their own menu and we had to wait 45 minutes for our pasta (we had no starter) while other tables got their food before us.

Again, again, again - can't get enough of this place. Enjoying their lunch culture of varying Italian specialties.

The cuisine of the Italia restaurant is authentic and there are specialties that cannot be found elsewhere in the city, some that recall ancient recipes of the peasant culture of the nearby Peninsula. The dishes are presented in a genuine and without frills way - it's the content that "speaks". The environment is also very Italian, starting with the furniture, sober and functional. The service is pleasant and kind. It presents an excellent quality/price ratio. It is the restaurant to which I always gladly take my guests who come from Italy and want to feel "at home"

Beautiful, tasty, special menus, friendly service!

My discovery from yesterday - the "Italia" could become my favorite Italian! I have the delicious Luganiga (cooked Puschlav sausage with Colfiorito lentils (Umbria) and homemade grappa mustard). The service was always friendly and accommodating. Thank you very much and gladly again.

A friend spent Easter in Sicily and, on my recommendation, went to the Giardino di Bacco in Catania. Noun is omen. There was Triglie. Triglie are also Commissario Montalbano's favorite dish. All of this made me a little jealous. Today at Italia we had triglie, polenta and tardivo di treviso. I was in Sicily this afternoon without traveling, to the musical accompaniment of Adriano Celentano. Chi non lavora…. deve almeno mangiare bene. What a terrific lunch. Thank you Team Italy. You made my day.

I generally enjoy coming to ITALIA and usually don't have high expectations of Zurich's gastronomy. Yesterday I had to realize again, soberingly, that your service is impersonal and inadequate. Here's a sample. We order a wine (+/- CHF 100), which was only offered to me for tasting; my female companion was not noticed. After the rehearsal, not a single refill was given, even though people interacted with us at the table several times. It's a shame, because it's exactly the little touches that make an evening a good memory.

I was there with friends over lunch. Price-performance is top. This is not always the case, especially in Zurich. I would love to come back to Italia.

I ordered a tagliata di manzo for 44.- including a side dish, so I thought it was a good price... when the plate came, I understood why... It was more of a plate with vegetables and the tagliata as a side dish!! Hey exactly three stiff tagliata, the rest just vegetables!! For me that's not fair. That should be on the menu… it was a maximum of 120 grams. Meat. The food was averagely good and the service was very nice.

Excellent Italian cuisine. We had a somewhat full evening, which wasn't quite as comfortable with a 2-seater aisle seat. The noise level was still tolerable and the staff was very friendly, bravo.

Eating just different and interesting. Origin of ingredients clearly declared. The lamb ragout with wonderful polenta is highly recommended. The Cima di Rapa as a starter and also the well-dressed (sounds a bit swollen 🤭) salad were perfectly prepared. The location in the back room seems a bit cold at first impression, but at second glance it is very exciting with good light, exciting pictures and a traditional (19th century) atmosphere. A must!!@

Very pleasant atmosphere. In summer you can end the evenings wonderfully in the garden. We started with the Supermisto Italia which was a perfect start and the ravioli were a dream as was the tartufo.

Their pasta is definitely good and deserves it. The portions are enough big, the desserts are good and the products are of good quality.

I was there with my father, who I have NEVER seen eat everything. He didn't eat everything. The pasta was dry and the sauce didn't seem homemade. There is room for improvement, especially if you are recommended by the NZZ. Staff was very friendly.

Italia is not = pizza & pasta! Anyone who lets themselves be pampered at Ristorante Italia likes something authentic and original. No matter whether antipasti, primi or secondi - everything convinced us. Including attentive service and the price/performance ratio. Bravi!

Incredible service and great food.

Friendly, almost all-Italian staff, and authentic Italian food...but a little bit meh. I lived in Naples for 2 years and have eaten in many places around Italy, and I don't think this restaurant would be terribly successful in Italy on the basis of their food alone. I got their famous gorgonzola gnocchi, which were very soft but not much to write home about. The tiramisu was OK but a bit dry. That being said, it's a fun spot that will please many.

We were served very kindly and attentively throughout the evening, which is not a given in Zurich. The atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly. The food was great and reasonably priced for the quality. The wine list has a lot to offer and the open wine is also at an ideal temperature. We also particularly appreciated the offer of discretionary water for CHF 4 per person. We will be back definitely.

Very tasty pasta and the plates at the neighboring tables also looked delicious. At the suggestion of the very polite service, we shared 4 half portions of pasta between three people because we couldn't decide. The outside area is a bit cramped but nicely and comfortably furnished. Will definitely go again!!!

The food is delicious: wonderful salami, aromatic cheese, wonderfully tender, creamy risotto, grilled quail, etc. When it comes to wines, the selection of open wines is very thin. A pity. And what really needs to be criticized is the tedious smoking process in the restaurant's crowded garden. Just recently we sat next to a chain smoker in the evening. The lady had almost no appetite, but she smoked endlessly. We then had to flee to the front and eat our dessert inside the restaurant. Our suggestion: make the garden smoke-free. Until then, we will probably primarily visit Italia in autumn and winter.

Very nice garden (you feel like you're on vacation), nice service, delicious food. The chocolate cake is AMAZING and a must try. The prices are normal for Zurich and we didn't have to leave the restaurant hungry - the portions are large.

Strange to get the 5:30pm reservation (all that was available) but it all honesty we had the whole restaurant to ourselves for about an hour. Highly recommended. By 8pm the place was packed, and the atmosphere was loud, it was not bad, but the quiet vibe for early reservation was a must. Food was absolutely delicious.

Nice restaurant, service very friendly. I had cime di rapa as a starter. Taste just like vinegar and bland. Main course pasta sugo and salsiccia also because the tomato sauce was rather dry and the salsiccia had the taste of normal minced meat. Wine Brunello 2012 I am not an experienced wine connoisseur but the wine was too acidic for my taste. But my friends thought the wine was good. I have to say the spaghetti with vongole looked inviting. I didn't try it myself but according to my friends it was good. Espresso and grappa excellent. The prices are at the upper limit for me.

On Good Friday, April 15, 2022, nine of us were at Ristorante Italia. The food, service and ambience showed that this should be repeated.

Menu somewhat limited. Everything was very tasty....
