Very fine original cherry cake, nice staff

We just had a drink, the service was excellent, extremely accommodating.

International clientele, buzzing atmosphere. The quiche lorraine was stunning, the chestnut and cream cake was to die for, the chocolates truly delicious. The lady could see that I do not speak German and was nice, helpful and very kind using the best English she could.

The ambience on the upper floor is already worth the visit.

When we ordered a cappuccino and croissant, the waitress on the upper floor of the café told us that there were no more croissants left. However, when we went out we could see that there were still a lot of croissants in the counter on the ground floor! Ignorance of the customer's wishes, laziness?

Confiserie Café Speck near the train station is the only traditional and cozy café we have in Zug - hopefully it stays that way and isn't converted into a cold and soulless, boring "café to go stand-up bar" like most of them are now.

One of the best confectionery and bakery. Great range, best quality. Everyone will find something! It's nice that the quality has always been top over the years. Depending on the situation, the service is almost unfriendly. A pity. But that doesn't dampen my enthusiasm in the slightest.

The Zug cherry cake is well soaked with kirsch and is fine. But at the time we were there there wasn't much of a selection of pastries. Inside on the ground floor the space is quite tight.

What a disaster ! The service was terrible... The waitress Mrs. Schn... was terrible even though we made the effort to speak German... When she brought the bill, I allowed myself to check her and she added 1.- more to the bill because she had “made a mistake”… I find this process unacceptable! Plus the prices are very high, we will never go back there and I strongly advise against it!

No more confectionary bacon. Today at around 1:45 p.m. we bought some Specklis in the Speck Confiserie on Alpenstrasse. The service was extremely unfriendly and snippy; When we asked whether there were less burnt speckles, we were told off that they only had that (and that's it). Luckily, there are many other bakeries and confectioneries in Zug that also sell good products. At least the sales staff there are very friendly.

Good staff, friendly and prompt. I was on Lake Zug and gave up the Zug cherry cake after I saw how dry it looked, even though it was from a well-known bakery in Zug. My companions were very disappointed. I took the liberty of enjoying the cherry cake at Cafe Speck, which was so great and good. Sometimes the wait is worth it🤗🤗

We had breakfast there. Breakfast was great, but the service left a lot to be desired... I haven't experienced anything so unfriendly and rude in a long time. Very unfortunate!!!

Unfriendly staff. The two employees chat with each other while ordering. And at the end there is no “thank you” or “goodbye”. I had to point out to her that one could at least say "goodbye." I give 5 stars for the cherry cake.

Coffee was good, cherry cake was good but the piece size was rather small. Service (first floor) friendly but clearly too slow. Prices tend to be at the upper limit of overall consumption.

The coffee doesn't deserve its name. Black colored water from a bad machine. My feedback was that they were probably just bad beans. The first and last time I was there was in this coffee shop.

Decent cafe. Lots of confectionery options on sale. Some seats downstairs and a big upstairs area for food and drinks. Was not busy on Wednesday evening. But closes early - at 6pm. Ok for a quick meeting and a chat. Service was good.

Unfortunately, the service today, Sunday morning, was quite unfriendly. This doesn't seem to be unusual... The lady was making fun of the customers who had just left the restaurant and was constantly moaning and sighing. When we paid for the already expensive drinks and didn't give a tip, she rolled her eyes and ran away without saying a word. No thanks, no nice day. It was definitely the last time here.

Today we had lunch at 'Speck', on the 1st floor. We appreciate 1. the extremely friendly service, 2. the fine food at a very fair price. That's why we keep going back.

The waitress at Kolinplatz Zug, very unfriendly lady with a rash. Very bad mood... The ‘Zugerlis’ are also no longer as delicious as bacon, dry and with a strange afterglow. A pity, I will avoid the lady and Zugerlis. Speaking of which: I'm not the only one who thinks so.

Not even a slight smile in the face of the personnel. It felt like i am causing troubles instead if bringing revenue... also i ordered to go, but then realized that train left, so i wanted to seat down to wait a bit inside, but i was asked not to!!! Since i have paid for to go??? Seriously this is the worst customer treatment, especially that the place was empty! In any case just do a flat rate for your drinks like in most cafes and maybe train the personnel to be a bit more friendly... i regretted that i started my day here. upd... gave another try in a new place in Baar, so I ordered a cake to go and then asked if I can get a glass of water - the lady told me that this is not allowed as this is not just water from the tap , but filtered:) she did make an exception though and gave me that 100ml glass of water... thank you ( btw giving a glass of water is a normal practice is Starbucks for example)

My husband took part in the Bluestschiessen (crossbow shooters) in Steinhausen today and, among other things, won two pieces of Zug cherry cake from the Speck confectionery and brought it home with him. We were very happy about it. I am a pastry chef myself and know how much effort it takes to make a good cherry cake. Unfortunately the cake wasn't convincing. There was probably a bit of a cherry flavor but the biscuit itself was quite dry. Then there is the size. The pieces were a bit overpriced at a maximum of an 18 cm cake with a retail value of SFr 5.50. A pity

I find this restaurant practical, it is close to the train station and always has a variety of ice cream flavors and a menu of cool drinks and more. Also a friendly and friendly service. The ambience is always right, whether inside, outside or upstairs

We actually really wanted to take the Zug cherry cake home with us. But we saw the many other attractive cakes. Without further ado, we decided on the cream cherry cake with meringue and chocolate and sponge cake. A great decision. We found another favorite.

Bircher muesli was great as always. 3min. Egg was already hard-boiled. As has been the case several times, the service had an unfriendly tone. Sometimes a little smile would work wonders. A pity!! Luckily there are several coffee shops in Zug. Time to move on!

Unfortunately we had to wait almost 20 minutes before we could order our coffee. Then a false statement was made about a sandwich (it was sold out, but there were still some of them available instead (seen in the display case when we went to the toilet). The sandwich was finally served when we pointed it out to the staff). The payment then took another while. Food and coffee perfect/delicious.

Very quick service even when a group is registered

Today we ate at Cafe Speck for the first time. The food was very good and the pasta was homemade. Only the lady down at the counter had a very unfriendly tone and served everyone else first instead of taking care of my colleague who had been waiting for a while and wanted something from the counter. In the end, the colleague didn't want anything more and we went out. A pity!

Top Product is the "Speckli" get a bunch of them as gift for your family and friends they are sold in single and in 6 packs. The products like bread, cakes and sandwiches are a bit more expensive but totally worth it!

I don't recommend it, the staff is in a bad mood, the saleswoman (with glasses and a foreign dialect) was extremely unfriendly to me but extremely friendly to the next customer (since she knew him!). Well, if she only wants regular customers, then put up a sign! In addition, the waitress is unfriendly and has no expertise at all (even unskilled, as always - it's cheaper after all).

We ordered 90 sandwiches for a farewell party. Instead of the expected golden brown and crispy bread, we received dried out, completely white and just pre-baked bread from the freezer. It was an imposition on everyone and is shameful.

A must for every Zuger! The quality of service depends heavily on the day. Personal tip: order bacon! Or walk a few steps to the lake and try the ice creams from Confiserie Speck at the golden kiosk. PS: mostly young schoolchildren and students work at the golden kiosk. I'm happy to support! :)

Today I was on the Coop City train to support work. I wanted a little souvenir from the beautiful city, so I quickly went to Confiserie Speck... I was given very friendly and competent advice from a lady (Bündner dialect)... Big bravo to the lady... you will always be happy to come back. I arrived at Café Speck today at 11:40 a.m. and had to wait 5 minutes for the service to come. In addition, the pastries had to be ordered and paid for inside. At exactly 12 o'clock the service lady came and wanted to take away my half-full coffee, my daughter was crying because she hadn't finished her chocolate drink yet. I asked for at least a plastic cup to take the drinks with me, but this was refused. This is not customer friendly at all and I will not be entering this cafe again. Not recommended !!

Today we were with you on the first floor after our detective trail. I haven't seen the waitress so nice, personable and with a smile on her face for a long time. My nephew was overjoyed to pick up his treasure there. The ice cream was great. This waitress was a sweetheart too.

For the Zugerkirschtorte of course! Going to Zug without enjoying this specialty is like taking a trip to Bordeaux and only drinking water ;-)

Great quality, even if a bit expensive. Price/performance ratio is right. What I can't understand is that you can only pay with cash at the lake. It's a shame, cards would be an advantage, especially at this time. Still 5 stars.

First the waitress brought me 3dl of cola in a warm glass. The glass then cracked while I was drinking then she poured the same cola into a new glass. I didn't think that was okay because it was a mistake and you weren't allowed to do that. I know that my son is doing his own apprenticeship as a restoration specialist and that she did that at school.

At first glance, the “Speckli” from Confiserie Speck suggest “salty”. The delicate almond biscuits are airy, with a light, aromatic almond flavor and balanced sweetness. A delicacy that cannot be missed. It is a perfect souvenir/gift from the canton of Zug that will always bring joy to the recipient!

So far I've only been there twice, and the second time I had to wait 10 minutes until someone finally showed up and by then it was too late for me to order something, too bad. Now the two stars are because it is well located.

The confectionary and other products are delicious and of good quality, but I cannot recommend this branch of Speck due to their generally rude and unhelpful staff.

Very traditional Confiserie in the Center of Zug. Very good hot milk chocolat. The bread and the sweets are good as well. Close to the Lake, the City Center and the main Station. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Unfriendly staff! Never experienced it! (younger, black-haired woman) We were there on a Saturday at around 11:30 a.m. and wanted to have brunch. We politely asked if they had gluten-free rolls for brunch and she said no, not that bad. We asked for dark rolls for brunch and then it started saying, "You're late for brunch, we don't have everything anymore" and this with an undertone and at a volume that was very unpleasant. Anyway, she looked and came back. Said it only had one large dark bread, but we would have to pay for it separately, so we asked if we could just have one large bread instead of 5 small white rolls. She went to ask again and as she ran away, the all-important sentence came: "You don't come to have brunch at that time, you should have gotten up earlier!" All the guests heard it and just looked puzzled. We got up and left. Never again. At Von Rotz you can have brunch until 3 p.m. without any problems and you have everything!

The best cherry cakes in Switzerland come from there. Craftsmanship-innovation-tradition.
