Had a very unpleasant experience at Tschibo today. Among other things, bought a mechanical milk frother last week, which turned to be absolutely non-functioning. Not only I was refused a refund (“There is no refund at the outlet!” - Come on, it’s not that I’ve changed my mind because I dislike the color of the item or bought a wrong size - the device simply does not function AT ALL even though I followed all instructions in the manual and had a similar one in the past from a different brand which I was very satisfied with. In no way I could check the functionality before buying - I’ve trusted the producer!!) On my suggestion to call her superwiser and describe the situation the shop assistant replied to me with an evil smile: “I know my instructions.” Zero empathy, zero suggestions in terms of how the situation can be resolved. I said: “OK, I’ll address it with the customer service” (shouldn’t she be the one who gives me their contacts in such a case?) - “Do whatever you want.” with the same evil smile. Isn’t that nasty?? I used to be a regular customer at Tschibo, and now I don’t feel like coming there at all. It’s not about money at all - the amount is fairly small - it’s about the treatment. You should teach your staff to respect the clients first.
