Confiseur Bachmann AG in Zürich

We were on Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich on Good Friday and ordered 2 coffees to go. When we got the coffees we saw the macarons and ordered a few from the saleswoman. To which she replied that she was leaving now and another saleswoman was coming. An absolute no go. You get the customer ready and then go off work. That's because of 2 minutes. We then left without macarons because there was no saleswoman available.

The bread cannot be compared to any other bakery. I also really enjoy shopping for my family from the various pastries. an absolute favorite!

Fantasy world of chocolate with a wall of chocolate and a river of chocolate running below the glass stairs. Head up stairs or lift to the first floor to fill your box with 4,6 or 8 custom chocolates. Makes a great gift though ours never made it out of the store! Thirsty? On the second floor there is drinks with a glass floor

So many choices! They have some hilarious Easter bunnies - Barbie, Ken, Harry Potter, Minion. They also have some amazing cupcakes!

Very easy to get to when you get off at the main train station. Ordered a creme schnitte and a coffee latte. The coffee is excellent and the cake is a solid 5/7. There is room for quite a few guests on the 3rd floor, and there is good service. Been here a few times now and there are always a lot of visitors, which is a good sign. Would love to come again.

"The food was very tasty, but we had difficulty enjoying it because one of the employees didn't serve us well. We arrived with a stroller and were amazed by the glass bottom, like all tourists. But then she said something very rudely us. She didn't even greet us, but immediately said: 'No, no, prams are not allowed to be parked there under any circumstances, the glass panels could break.' It was around 6:00 p.m. and she was already cleaning, without a sign or careful note that she works there. In my opinion, if customers have done something wrong, they should be pointed out in a friendly way. There were Children under the age of 5, and she is probably a mother herself and should understand that. Additionally, the staff member told the manager that our children were ill-mannered. This was extremely offensive and inappropriate, especially given the fact that we were trying to protect our children to keep calm and not cause problems. It is disappointing that the employee was not only unfriendly but also made such hurtful comments. However, it should be noted that the other employee, also with glasses, was sensational. Both were friendly to us welcomed us and made our visit pleasant."

The woman with short light brown hair was incredibly cheeky, very unfriendly, very unprofessional and you have a cheeky team leader here in Bachmann Zurich Bahnhofstrasse. A pity

Staff unprofessional. The woman on the 2nd floor with short hair, it seems to me that me and my children are not that welcome to her. She spoke to us so cheekily, and the team leader wasn't doing any better when she said that my children are uneducable children, just because the woman miscounted it without knowing exactly what it was, and it's definitely not worth letting out a sentence like that OK.

Pretty wild displays of chocolates!

the vegetable bread, the sandwiches are great. the spicy Mexican chicken canape is the best. friendly staff in the store. It's a shame there is no canape selection in the cafe upstairs or only one. however, the second one was brought from below. Spelled sandwich also super fine cold. crispy, juicy and well filled. In the store ginger iced tea with almost no sugar is great. Didn't find this one in the cafe. In the cafe there were crumbs and more on tables and benches at 1:30 p.m. even though there were 2 people. behind the kitchen counter and 2 at the checkout. I would have liked to consume more, but again going all the way down to choose canapes is tedious. Now reduce the sugar content in the macarons so I can enjoy them more often. Berliners, donuts, etc. without added sugar on top are not available upon request.

Impressive shop. Going down you really don't know what to choose. The 2nd leaves you speechless...that you can imagine from chocolate 🍫. You can sit on the 3rd floor for coffee and food. The staff don't speak English well English a bit difficult to communicate but with the old sign method all good. For the first day in Zurich I can say we started well.

This morning, shortly after 7... Super friendly staff and a Vierwaldstätter bread that is second to none! We will definitely see each other again on our next visit to Zurich.

The place is nice. I did boat a lot of the chocolates and took a cupcake on the third floor. It was good tasty. I asked for top water the first time she gave me she it was for free and the second time she told me I have to pay money for tapwater.

Dropped by for the hot chocolate as I was really impressed with the praline. Sadly it wasnt very good…maybe because it came from a packet 🤷🏼‍♀️

Very majestic place. There are several options in this place. Pastry, chocolates, bread, juices and water. Obviously coffee too. Price wise is close to any other place. The decorations are really aligned with what they sell and are just mesmerizing. I'll definitely come back here again in the future.

I bought a „3 Königskuchen“ yesterday at this bakery. It was the worst one I have ever tasted in my life. I have bought them from all major supermarkets (Coop, Migros, Lidl…) as well as other bakeries and have baked some myself. This one I bought here was so bad I could not finish it. I could swear it was deep frozen and then left out to thaw. Absolutely unacceptable for a bakery. I thought maybe it was just me, but my boyfriend tasted it as well and said that even gas stations make it better. On top of that the service was extremely rude and unfriendly, and prices very high. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Unfortunately, I won't be shopping at Bachmann anymore. I can really avoid being insulted by bad-tempered employees after a long day at work. Apparently the previous sales training courses have had no effect. A real shame!

Every time I‘m there, the people behind the counter are unfriendly and I have to wait a long time until they take my order, even when only a few customers are there. I‘m really annoyed at this poor service and won’t be coming back.

The food is good, but the staff and processes are completely inefficient (wait times too long).

Hello, I bought a dessert yesterday...it was super good...quality and quantity really great....a good address that I keep in Zurich...I am staying in Zurich from Saturday 11th to Friday November 17....rating 10 out of 10.... jackfruit Patrick rue du Rhône 3 1920 Martigny... very good quality....and the prices are very reasonable to say that I am in Zurich

Useless. Useless 3 floors of different categories of sweets with the café only on the last floor. And you can order the sweets from the ground floor only in the café, I mean why? Why do I need to memorize the names of the sweets on the ground floor to order them on the last one? Could it be even more useless? I do doubt so!

Kids very unfriendly staff!!! Staff impolite with bad manners! The tea is cold. While you bring the water, the water cools down. They don't give you a plate for tea bag. Where should I put the tea bag? very stuffy and hot! They don't want to open the windows! And noisy. I was waiting for the opening, which was delay all the time. I was very like this place, but now I’m very disappointed!

The staff is not customer friendly at all. I am a regular customer and I have never met a friendly employee. The products are the reason why I always shop there.

I've been to this shop several times in the past, always on the 3rd floor for breakfast. I haven't been there for over a year because the last time I was treated badly by a young apprentice. I just wanted to charge my cell phone at a power outlet and he was rude to me The guy was shouted at and in front of all the customers... unbelievable. I complained to the boss straight away and told her that with this behavior you are losing customers. She already has one and as I read other reviews... there are already several of her complain because of unfriendliness. I have already survived without Bachmann and I don't think you can survive without customers

I love the tuna sandwiches, the cupcakes and the mousse au chocolat cake! But the service is pretty bad at this location. Staff seems stressed and unfriendly. In addition, the lady didn't really listen to me and looked somewhere else and I had to repeat myself several times. When I got home, I noticed with great disappointment that she hadn't packed everything for me. Unfortunately I didn't have a receipt.

The selection is huge, but unfortunately the employees are unfriendly.

Although the ice cream there is really good, the service is very poor. You have to stand for at least 10 minutes to order an ice cream. Although many employees stand at the next station and do nothing. They just look at you and turn their head. This has happened to me 3 times so far. Very bad service.

Well-stocked pastry shop with seating and bar on the third floor. The girls who work there are very friendly and speak English. The pastries were fresh and the coffee really good. We were there very early in the morning and were able to sit and enjoy breakfast.

We ate in on the top floor. Atmosphere is great on 1st and 2nd floor for takeaway customers, but not great on the top floor for dine in customers. The ceiling is low and nothing of interest to look at. The croissant was a bit undercooked (inside was doughy). The apple strudel was great. A vanilla cream donut was very average and a bit too sweet. Coffee was also weak. I think we would have liked it more if we just grabbed some baked goods and ate outside at the park.

Today my strawberry smoothie tasted like mold and it was NOT replaced even after asking and complaining 3 times! Disastrous service! Luckily there are many others!

The best thing about this place is without a doubt the ice cream. The stand is in a space next to the stairs that go up to the upper floors. On the upper floors there is a fairly small and sparse Lindt store and a cafeteria where the staff is slow and unpleasant. I recommend you order an ice cream and leave to enjoy it properly!

We came by for a quick bite while wandering the streets of Zurich. I had a salad and a small pasta, my friends also ordered different past dishes (Altthough there arent that many options). The pastries and sweets looked amazing. The place it self is very pretty, and busy. I found it to be a bit disorganized though, and the staff could at least try to be a tiny bit more friendly.

Lots of selection with the usual Bachmann quality. Delicious cappuccino recommended! There is a Lindt store on the first floor and the Bachmann Café on the second floor where you can even order pizza. Nice!

I've already read the negative reviews here. - the vibe in the store is always stressed and negative, maybe good mood music helps lol - a smile costs nothing - Invested in sales training - Please pay the sales staff more wages or a percentage of the monthly sales... it's probably because the staff simply doesn't earn enough. I now buy my goods from Sprüngli. I'm happy to pay more for better treatment there. KKTHXBYE

From now on I prefer to buy my pastries in a place where I will at least be smiled at. No matter what time of day, the staff always seems very stressed and only answers annoyed. Several times the employees simply walked away from me when I tried to answer their questions about my order. The products are tasty, but they don't make up for the poor or unfriendly service. By the way, you can safely do without your standardized answer regarding staff training, I already know it by heart. Raising awareness probably didn't help the seventh time either😉

Best ice cream with price/performance ratio. I treat myself every time I walk through Bahnhofstrasse. The ice cream is homemade but the cornet is not. But it tastes quite good and is quite big.

Today I bought an ice cream and guess what , a HAIR was inside I was terrified !!! As always Bachmann it’s expensive cuz of the quality but today I was very disappointed, I had to go to the office otherwise would’ve brought that ice cream immediately back!!!

I have never had such a bad experience at Bachmann am Bahnhofstrasse.The staff didn't greet the customer.The cashier is angry at the customers when they pay, as if she was disturbed. These employees probably have to work on Sundays so they don't feel like working. Too bad!

It's not just the cupcakes that are sweet here - the furnishings on the upper floors and the general equipment of the shop were simply amazing! Very comfortable and reasonably priced. The waitresses at the top were very friendly.

I've had chocolate croissants in various parts of the world, but Bachamann's surpasses any expectations!!!! Anyone who goes to Zurich and doesn't eat this croissant will certainly regret it!!!

Everything is delicious, but the chocolate croissant with almonds is sensational! The chocolate staircase and wall, the macaron-shaped benches and the praline chair make the space even more beautiful. A place to come back to again and again!

Never again. We had breakfast and asked for a dog bowl for our dog. After asking twice, she told me that she couldn't give me one. Normally I always have one with me but unfortunately I forgot it today. Customer service 0 point

A young, heavily made-up woman can't control herself and doesn't even try to be friendly. The nose is at the top and a thank you comes grimly and you don't even get a look or say goodbye. You should put a little more effort into who you hire here!

Today the unfriendly Mrs. Hartmann served me. She asked me if I wanted my sandwich warm. I then replied: "Very much." She seemed extremely overwhelmed and cursed to herself why she should warm up the sandwich now. If a customer-oriented and friendly demeanor of your employees towards customers is important to you, why do people like Ms. Hartmann Isabelle work for you? I have never received such unfriendly service and even though I have been a loyal customer for years, I will avoid this branch from now on!

If you have dark skin you'll get treated really bad. Rude staff asked us to leave just because we only bought chocolates and told us we can only sit if you bought something from the restaurant. The place had enough seating but we were asked to leave.

I come here often, the products are very good. Top quality. That's why I'm happy to come. However: some of the staff are incredibly unfriendly. The last few times (there have been a few) I've noticed this enormously, with other customers and also with myself. I feel again and again as if I have to apologize for wanting to buy something. I am aware that they have stressful periods, as the store is on Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich, close to the main station. But that's no excuse for me to be so rude to customers. I don't even want to talk about a smile. It's a shame because I would give the products 5 stars.

Unfriendly and arrogant staff. My visit was really disappointing and left me very upset. From the start I was greeted with an inappropriate, rude and dismissive attitude from the staff. No greeting, just annoyed looks, no patience to help with my questions. It was obvious that they had no interest in helping their customers. By the way, it wasn't just me. The arrogant and condescending manner was particularly disappointing. When I asked for a recommendation, she gave me a dismissive look and made me feel like my question was stupid. Instead of answering me kindly, I was dismissed and it became clear that she had no desire to help me. I like going to Bachmann but I'd better go to one of the other branches soon. Two things count in a bakery: the top priority is the products (they are really great) and customer service. Then people will be happy to come back. But in this area the branch failed miserably, unfortunately not for the first time.

I just went to buy some sweets (see photo) unfortunately I was served by a person who behaved arrogantly and rudely towards me!!... when I asked that I wanted to speak to the branch manager, she told me that SHE IS THE BRANCH MANAGER!!!...perhaps the Bachmann pastry shop should choose more suitable people, who know how to talk to customers!!!...despite the fact that I am a regular customer, I was very disappointed with the service and I honestly don't know if I will buy from Bachmann again!!!

I can't say anything about the service in the cafe. However, Bachmann's products are first-class baking art. Here they have the best croissants (whether butter, lye or whole grain) that I have ever eaten. The sandwiches are also outstanding. Likewise the breads. Be it St. Galler, Lucerne or Olive Pailasse. Every purchase is a hit. I also find it remarkable that the dough resting time is indicated for each bread. Depending on the employee, the service is very friendly or a little colder. This is a bit of a shame, but the quality of the goods on offer makes up for it.

I used the bäckerei catering services to cater for our corporate event. I ordered the savory canapés for our Apéritif. Everything was fresh, colorful and very tasty. I will definitely use their services again.

If you are of Asian descent like myself, don’t expect good service here. I noticed the attitude and service towards Caucasian customers are COMPLETELY different from when they interact with me. The old lady at the till on the second floor stared at me like I am begging for chocolate instead of buying them. So unfriendly and rude. Management needs to train their staff better if they want to keep their business. Discrimination is something I didn’t expect to get when I buy some chocolate treats. Will never visit again and will recommend everyone to avoid this place. Learn to be better. You are not above everyone else.

Nicely furnished, but it's really extremely loud inside, the prices are quite normal for Zurich standards, but the employee at the ice cream stand was extremely unpleasant, which was a shame, but the ice cream was really good
