I am visiting Zurich and went to this restaurant based solely on the reviews here. I do not understand why it has such high reviews. I went here tonight for dinner and ordered fufu and pepper soup. The pepper soup is not pepper soup - it’s more like goat tomato stew - no pepper at all and not cooked the way pepper soup should be. When the bowl came out I thought it was filled with meat….but it was one huge piece of bone with a lot of fat and sinew. I would say the actual meat made up 20% of the stew. The rest was bones and fat. Also it was only goat meat in the stew …no other type of meat which is not what is advertised. I raised this with the server and she offered to give me more meat…however she again gave me another big bone with fat. This time around when I bit into the meat it was cold inside which means it had come from the freezer/fridge and microwaved. The food is not cooked fresh…already cooked and warmed up but charging restaurant prices …it should really be takeaway only The “restaurant” is really tiny (4 tables) I am really disappointed, I feel like I wasted my money (CHF38) and time and would definetely not recommend anyone going here.

This place is great! The service was extremely nice, open-minded and helpful. The food was very tasty. There were two different vegetarian dishes. We'll definitely be back!

The food is very tasty, there are some options for vegetarians. Apart from that, we really felt welcome in this place. The staff is extremely nice and can help you choose if you haven't tried African cuisine before.

My African girlfriend and I were actually very happy to go out for African food and also had high expectations for Taste of Africa because of the positive reviews. Unfortunately the food was very bad and extremely overcooked. A dish that cost 30 Fr had to be left behind after a few bites because it was not edible. It was a shock experience for these extremely high prices!!!

I ordered the mafe rindfleisch this evening. It was pretty bad. Completely overcooked rice, terrible meat. Don’t recommend

The restaurant is really very dirty, the corridor before you go into the restaurant is totally dirty!!! The tables were set totally carelessly, simply disgusting!! the service couldn't speak any German, the food was partly still frozen! and for so little food, very very expensive, never, ever again!!!!!!

The lady cook is so lovey and funny. It feels like she makes the dish specially for you. The few times I've been there it has been SO GOOD. She recently started serving these new chicken wings with a sauce that just so delicious!!

My bananas were swimming in oil. We both had rice as a side dish, which was good. We both got chicken as meat, I Yassa and my wife Chepujane. The worst thing was that I had to wait 70 minutes for 2 menus. I rarely order online, I always eat locally. So you can imagine that I was pretty annoyed after cuddling with the other guests at this posh restaurant.

What I love about this place is the warmth and love energy from the owner and chef at this restaurant. It’s a cosy place with an African vibe. Great food and great portions. Probably one of the best African restaurants in Europe, I’ve been too. Great customer experience. Great ambiance. I would highly recommend this place and I’m definitely coming back again soon 😍👌🏾👍🏽

Very authentic food and very friendly service. However, it takes very long until you get your food and we did not like our food at all (which is due to personal taste).

Food was good but took too long! The matron was alone and very chaotic and loud. She was being too familiar and unproffesional.

Very small but friendly and good service..clean and above all really tasty..We were there on a Saturday around 6 p.m. and ordered take away. We had to wait a bit because she was still frying the plantains. You can see the kitchen and see how the woman cooks..You can also eat on site..We had grilled fish with plantains with sauce and very spicy chicken wings..what a treat👍🤩 It's in eat.ch but unfortunately it doesn't deliver to our area...it's a shame😔 But what the heck, we’ll be back😋

This was my first time having African food. It was an interesting change from what I normally eat - that alone is enough to justify coming here. Aside from being interesting, the food was really well prepared. The place is small and feels a bit like visiting someone's house (in a good way). The owner made me feel welcome and comfortable. The interior isn't very polished though - it feels kind of makeshift. As long as that doesn't sound like a deal breaker to you, you should definitely visit.

Tried it for the first time and it was very tasty. Foufou with okra is a must try. Hidden little restaurant but a must if you want to try new specialties.

I've eaten a lot of asian food in Zürich. After a while you just want something else. Good food in Zürich that isn't European or Asian is scarce. But that's until you discover this gem. Absolutely delicious. I would like to recommend this to everyone that want's to try new food. The atmosphere is very nice and the people are really friendly. We had a fantastic evening here and I will definitely visit again.
