Doki Doki in Lausanne

Not the first time I've been there. I loved it but I don't know what's going on. I took the soyu ramen, the meat was already not the same as before and really very fatty. As well as the broth. In short, really disappointed, it was my favorite ramen in Lausanne. But not anymore. The level has dropped in terms of the quality of the ingredients but the prices are the same.

Disappointment after all the feedback. Incipid, tasteless! The latter cannot afford the right to have and say that it is a real broth. Diluted Coca-Cola! 40.- pp, it’s a steal! I advise against. Very sad. Europeans are not yet ready to cook if it is not mastered.

We tested it last night after several recommendations. We were not disappointed at all, on the contrary we loved it!!! The Ramens were delicious!!

Excellent choice of home-made delicious ramen 🍜 A Japanese friend took me there for the first time, a couple of years ago, and I think that one can trust a Japanese's recommendation for a Japanese-food restaurant outside of Japan.

Not sure if it is a Doki problem or a swiss one. What is weird is that Switzerland is the reference in hospitality education, yet lack the practice in their industry. We waited for 10 min standing on the door then to be asked to wait for another 20 min on their sofa’s that were nice. We asked if we can order since we are waiting for the food to be ready when we are seated. They said no and we ended up waiting another 20 min since we got seated to get the food. The food was ok, knowing that we got used to lowering our standards. Nevertheless, paying that price of a ramen, you would expect excellent ingredients, authentic and tasteful dishes. That was totally missing as the food was a bit plain in taste, with slight difference btw the three ramens we ordered. The drinks were totally watered down with a hefty price tag. In general, we wanted to try it after hearing a lot of buzzzz about it, it was clear that it is gas lighting. Won’t recommend it nor would I come back to it. Hope they evolve as we all would love to enjoy a nice meal and see local businesses thriving.

Coming back from 3weeks in Japan where I had at least 1 ramen a day, I'm trying all the Ramen in the neighborhood. This ramen is good, noodles are fresh and very good, as well as the broth. Unfortunately they don't have Tonkotsu. The Chashu is grilled which its very good, But that also gives a lot (too much) bbq taste to the broth.. Too bad. Their Karaage are a bit dry.

Great discovery after a visit to the Capitole cinema, the dinner was great. We'll come back

Delicious Japanese ramen to eat with chopsticks. Big eater get a starter...tasty soup, excellent soft-boiled egg and extra marinated pork slices. A real delight and for 30.- with house drinks or Vaudois cider. A delight. We'll come back. Booking is recommended

We were 5 people. We ordered 5 dishes all seemed good in appearance but were the worst disappointment; absolutely unharmonious in flavour, overcooked noodles, terrible texture on meat dishes, over salted broth, with additional seasonings that masked all the ingredients in a dense messy mess. Anyone who has ever had fine Asian food would have difficulty finishing their plate. Anyone who has travelled to Asia and knows how fine a soup can be will most probably run away after the first bite. Ambiance was equally horrible they had blaring music it was necessary to shout to be able to conversaste over the music. It was similar to eating in an ill reputed cafeteria. The crowd was mostly young and there was not one Asian looking guest, which comes as no surprise. The service is also just 'slap it on the table' mode. The prices are outrageous considering the general lack of quality. Dine at your own risk.

Great Food, local, finally an alternative to all the burger places

We ate there today and it was a very good experience. The map is well explained. The quick service and the ramen we had was excellent and the portion quite sufficient. The room is a little noisy. We will come back with pleasure.

Piece of porcs from the Shoyu Ramen was mostly fat the rest was good

Super friendly servers! 80s music 🎶 galore! We ate very well, the Ramens are a little different from Japan but we can say that this customization is excellent. The Karaage is a real killer, 100% Japan! Conclusion, you already know, 😇 you can go there with your eyes closed! Don't forget to book, even at 1:30 p.m. it will be difficult to find a table!

Unfortunately, for those who don't eat pork, they only offer roast beef ramen which is tasty but not very meaty. However, the atmosphere and staff remain pleasant!

Original setting next to the swimming pool to enjoy an excellent Ramen (Miso or Shoyu of your choice). Don’t miss the excellent Karaage starter and their superb homemade cold teas. A good presentation and good taste for the now very popular ramen.

I found a hair in the bowl, it was cold and the waiter was not at all friendly.

The ramen is always very good, but its temperature varies from time to time depending on the service. This one is sometimes fantastic and sometimes a little more chaotic... but since the smile is always there, indulgence is in order

With my little one, we had a little Friday evening dinner at doki doki and what an experience! quality cuisine, young and dynamic service, eclectic atmosphere, everything was there! As a starter we recommend the beans! and if you don't speak Japanese, don't worry! a small glossary is provided on the card to make the experience very pleasant. 1st visit last night for a dinner with friends. The ramen was very good but did not arrive very hot. Besides, it's not really hot in the restaurant. In addition, every time someone comes in or leaves the cold rushes through the entire restaurant. The team is young and friendly.

Two of us came certainly without reservation: the restaurant was empty, it was 6 p.m. and we were seated after many sighs at a "table" without the possibility of facing the back of the room in a corner facing the darkness of nothingness . No need to taste the food if the service is already terrible.

Not bad at all, this ramen! I had a Shoyu ramen, it's close to what I had in Japan. The soup, however, lacks a little quantity (the bowls are apparently too small) and there was no menma (marinated bamboo shoots) but otherwise a great discovery. To try for ramen lovers in Lausanne

We came to eat with friends to discover their famous Ramen. We were very disappointed because the dishes had no flavor and the broth had no taste... We will not come back.

A Lausanne institution for eating ramen! Very friendly staff and delicious dishes. The only downside is the location (pool restaurant) which is not up to par. Don't forget to book, it's always full (even on Mondays).

As I came alone to the restaurant, I got a place at the bar which was fine for me. There I had the chance to look into the kitchen and was able to see what the chefs are doing. I ordered a karree ramen and a non alcoholic drink with was a lemonade with yuzu including rosmarin and citron. Both orders came really fast and I can totally recommend to eat a ramen soup there. For this menu I have had to pay 29.50 CHF which I think is totally ok for the quality. The restaurant was full and I guess this is a good sign for every guest 😏.

Homemade lemonade with Yuzu, rosemary and lemon, not too sweet, great! Vegetarian ramen (Végé-men) delicious!!! The homemade noodles are the best. And to finish this meal without a false note: a generous slice of matcha cake with a scoop of ice cream from an artisan ice cream maker (flavors of typical ice creams and sorbets and really successful): thank you for this moment, we will come back with joy!!! Ramen with super tasty broth, noodles cooked to perfection, definitely worth the detour. A downside for the really noisy atmosphere and the view of the swimming pool basins under construction!

I was there with two friends and disappointed with the food, all 3 of us didn't like it. The dishes were not good and the short-haired lady who welcomed us was really bitter. The rice is not good, it's really cheap and bad fast food, we would have preferred to go to McDonald's especially with the prices

Place was really nice, food was delicious, lots of different flavors, not heavy. We were a big party (with an advance booking) but service was still quick and we all got our food at the same time. Staff were really accommodating. Will go back.

Very surprised by the excellent quality and flavors of this ramen. I had the vegetarian option and the broth was still extremely flavorful, the noodles were al dente, and the portions were generous. Did not think I’d be able to find ramen this good in Europe. Highly recommend it for ramen lovers

After seeing the comments I decided to come and eat in this restaurant and frankly it was a big disappointment! I don't understand the craze for ramen. Mine was really mediocre, bland broth, overcooked noodles. Really not wow… Background music completely Western with respect to the spirit of the restaurant, I didn't really understand the concept. Plus she's super strong, you feel like you're in a bar.

I really like the concept of this very tasty restaurant. The food is quality and the ramen made in the region. On the other hand, there is too much pasta, especially compared to vegetables (in vegetarian ramen dishes for example....) I asked to reduce the quantity of pasta on the plate, but that was impossible. Thank you for the welcome, always very warm.

Cool place but the ramen is subpar unfortunately. I understand they don't aim to make it the most authentic but some mistakes are just not forgivable: overcooked noodles, fried onion smell is way too strong, the broth is very oily and isn't strong enough.

It's now been a little over a year since I discovered this restaurant and a year since I enjoy going there. The ramen is delicious, the broth is delicious, I even managed to win the loyalty of a friend who didn't like ramen at all (because of the ones she had eaten in other restaurants before), so frankly nothing to say again, it’s flawless!

Canteen atmosphere, fast, pleasant and accommodating service. The dishes are served in sufficient quantity, at the right temperature and garnished with fresh, crunchy vegetables. The noodles are fresh (even seem homemade) and the broth is slightly spicy. The Don Buri is quite good but lacks sauce and seasoning. For dessert, black sesame ice cream to innovate... Nice surprise!

Truly the best ramen in Lausanne!

Quite simply the best veggie ramen of my life, and don't try to ask for the recipe: it's secret and we understand why. The atmosphere is super bohemian and hipster, a real favorite!

Honestly, the ramen is not up to par, sorry. You can go to any traditional ramen restaurant you will see the difference

Very delicious ramen 🍜 the eggs, meat, and soup are cooked perfectly. The portion is big enough that we don’t get so full. The staffs are young, friendly and can speak English very well. It’s better to make a reservation in advance if you want to sit outside in summer :/ But definitely want to come back!

We had the karaage (fried chicken) to start followed by miso ramen. Both dishes were delicious and full of flavour! Service was quick at the start, but took some time to clear our plates. Portions are big, but you can take the rest home if you can’t manage. Overall, a great meal! Would definitely recommend booking as it is so busy!

Excellent starter, friendly service, delicious ramen for everything related to the noodles and topping (especially the meat! Wow!!) but the broth was very mediocre... it's a shame when the rest is so good. And it was incredibly hot I suppose because of the huge windows which act as a greenhouse. I will return there but on the terrace or in winter! 😊

Went there on a weekday for lunch. We had booked for 12pm, which I strongly recommend to do. The place was completely full, testament to its popularity, and very very noisy. However, by the time we finished our meal, around 1.15pm, I would say that a third of the tables were available, and the noise level was down. The noodles are homemade in full view of customers, and the food was great. The portions are generous, some of us took a doggy bag home! The service is good, efficient and friendly. For Lausanne, the prices are fair. I will come back.

Very good ramen and choice of starters and complements. We were well received and served in a relaxed and very pleasant atmosphere.

They don't have a big menu, but what they do is really good. So prices are very fair. I'm a repeat offender. Was just there again, it's so good. Best tonkatsu outside Japan! This includes Asian countries.

I went there with my husband, we had Karaage, he had Shoyu Ramen and I had Miso Vegetarian. Everything was good overall, but unfortunately the vegetarian ramen was way too salty. so I took them to go, and once home I added water and it was SUCCULENT. This restaurant doesn't deserve a bad rating because everything is very good, but please be careful because these ramens in particular are too salty and that's a shame!

A brilliant concept, perfect Japanese food (best ramen in Lausanne, excellent karaage, the Don are great too) with an interesting choice of cocktails, classics revisited with Japanese alcohols. Not a week goes by that I don't recommend it to friends or go there myself!

Finally a good ramen in Lausanne! I start with this statement because the main thing is there, the ramen is excellent. Great care is taken in everything that makes it up, from the chashu to the noodles, including the broth and the egg. The thickness of the chashu is certainly not usual but allows the meat not to harden in the broth by overcooking and the same goes for the egg which is put cold in the bowl and therefore remains very soft. For all this, we will return there. On the other hand, there are lots of little problematic things that mean I don't give it 5 stars. The quality of the welcome and the service is quite uneven, few smiles, not always friendly. We were unable to advise my companion on the choice of drink based on his Ramen and several times we were made to wait to be able to order while reminding us that we had to leave at 8 p.m. so that my companion ended up going to get the menu itself for dessert. It gives a bit of a Swiss student bar feel and at the price you pay to eat, even if it's very good, it's a bit problematic. I would like to point out that you have to take an XL portion to fully enjoy the ramen, the basic version only offering half an egg and two slices of chashu. The electro-pop (which is really not to our taste) too loud doesn't help the atmosphere and really made me question the concept of the restaurant. The name and decor are frankly Japanese inspired and I didn't have the impression of being in a restaurant for lovers of this culture. I only understood this when I tasted the Ramen and it's a bit of a shame. Why not put on some Japanese music? Even pop if that's really the taste of the people who work there. Small regret for the Kaarage which, despite the obvious quality of the meat and the breading, was sorely lacking in taste due to a marinade that was certainly too short or not thick and uniform enough. At 12 francs a plate it's a shame and the sauce which is too acidic doesn't make up for it. For dessert, the cakes were dry but the ice creams (ginger) were truly fabulous. The rice beer and white wine by the glass were also very good. So I recommend because the negative points will not prevent me from satisfying my hitherto unsatisfied desire for ramen in Lausanne since they are very good there.

Nice spot, friendly service and a lovely small menu as it’s always better to have a few things we’ll done than many average. Chicken teriyaki was the highlight.

Absolutely phenomenal ramen. We got the miso ramen with chicken broth with some chilli on the side and my god was that delectable! Truly hit the spot 😋 I recommend booking a table in advance, we had to wait for 20 mins to get ours. Staff is lovely. We came all the way from Montreux to fix our ramen craving and it was worth it. Highly recommend this spot!

Tested this afternoon with a regular colleague. Super friendly welcome. Veg ramen full of flavors, homemade pickles to die for, not to mention the cold matcha ginger tea. Great discovery and in any case not the last time I come there.

We loved our visit to this restaurant on a Sunday lunchtime. Fortunately we had reservations because on a Sunday lunchtime few restaurants are open. The portions are very large even for children. And the ramen dishes are really, really good!
