Amazing authentic Sri Lankan food, very friendly service. Best restaurant discovery in Basel so far.

It’s a small nondescript family run property that serves a limited range of excellent, authentic Sri Lankan food. The “all you can eat” offerings tend to be veg and non-veg (beef or chicken) and they have rice and additionally kootu-roti on specific days. The restaurant is a favorite of many of us working at a nearby Pharma company.

Delicious lunch menus. Vegetarian, beef or chicken with various vegetable side dishes and rice for 20.50 CHF

Highly recommend this lil joint ran by this amazing woman and has the most delicious food. Do try the Kothu Roti (on certain days only) and the Aubergine dish.

I visit this restaurant once per week with my colleagues, mainly on Wednesday, as it’s the day when Kottu Roti is made with cut and mixed flatbread. It is owned by a very sweet Tamil family which is hardworking and often deals with several customers at once: be mindful that on Wednesday the place fills immediately and is very sought after by several people. You can request the Kottu Roti on Wednesday with either meat (Beef or Pig), Vegetarian (containing eggs), or Vegan. Dining-in allows you to have variation on the menu, and during the week, instead of taking the normal flatbread which is uncut you can also order rice variations and ask for curry/sauces. Overall the prices are ok for the portion, they had to be increased due to the current ongoing situation, which makes prices a bit more expensive everywhere. I would recommend the place mainly to test out the Kottu Roti on Wednesday, or ask if it can be made in the same style during other days. It’s really worth it!

Very good food. Three or four different vegetables. Each seasoned differently. Very interesting and fine.

Best hidden gem in Basel. We went every week for the past few years once we discovered it. We even tried to order 1x per week during COVID to ensure they didn’t go out of business while restaurants were closed. We always leave happy, belly full and satisfied.

Excellent Sri Lankan food. Generous portions (especially for Swiss standards). Highly recommended. We had the chicken curry with rice and side portions of cabbage and eggplants. 5 stars all the way.

Very very tasty Sri Lankan lunch place in Basel (* near Novartis Campus), remember that spicy Kottu is available only on Wednesday at lunch time - ** Kottu is a Sri Lankan dish consisting of diced roti stir-fried with scrambled egg, onions, chillies, spices, and optional vegetables or meat, such as beef and chicken also occasionally mutton or chicken.

Amazing fresh home-made Sri-lankan food with the nicest owners and great service

Best food than I've ever tried, a MUST every Thursday because of the freshly prepared flatbread. It is addictive!!
