Great restaurant with a varied menu and very friendly service at moderate prices. I can't judge the inn. I only know the restaurant but I can highly recommend this one. Every Friday there are spare ribs à discretion.

Unfortunately overall unsatisfactory. Price-performance ratio is not right. Crispy fish frozen and not even cooked through at first. Then the croquettes are ready and unfortunately everything is presented carelessly. Service but very friendly.

It was my first time at Restaurant Bären and I can't complain at all, the service is friendly and competent. The food was extremely good. The restaurant had a special seasonal menu for autumn with game meat and the accompanying side dishes. Price-performance ratio is perfect. The conclusion is that you can do it yourself and it costs off the menu.

We were there for the first time today. Everything was more than good. The nice staff, great food 🔝… I took the steak 🥩 on the hot stone. The meat was very well seasoned, very high quality meat and you can then fry the meat yourself to suit your taste. The chicken my wife ate was also very tasty and prepared exactly the way she likes it. Desserts also very good. We will come back and recommend the restaurant!

I didn't find the rooms nice. The cleanliness leaves something to be desired. I was there for 4 days on business. The beds weren't even made or the room was cleaned in that time. For me the room isn't worth the money. I personally expected more .no late breakfast for normal workers

Only for lunch. Adequate nothing more. Viennese schnitzel and fries, not a trace of greens, salad or vegetables. Wine by the glass from 5.80. The sommelier was helpful after many smiles from my side. Please note carafe of water not charged.

I ordered their famous spicy chicken and I ordered without any spicy sauce, I thought it was super spicy, but it was my failure because then the chicken was a bit boring, next time I’ll order at least a bit spicy, as they told me it’s totally manageable.

The burger was disgusting and it wasn't even real meat. The waitress extremely unfriendly and rude only looked at my life ignoring when I was talking (man hating probably) and didn't even thank me when I paid. I was polite and nice but this restaurant was absolutely awful.

I was here for dinner. The restaurant is well looked after and every evening there are special offers. I ate a Portuguese specialty called piri piri, which is a spicy grilled chicken dish. Very good! The waitress was always kind and attentive to the customer. Advised!

We stopped for lunch on our bicycle tour. Nice setting in the shade of the fortress. We had a place under a tree, beneath a running fountain with nice flowers. Service was quick attentive and friendly. Food was delicious, pricing average.

Never eaten such a large, impressive cordon bleu. Nothing to say, except that I recommend the place. In addition, the village is very beautiful.

We had lunch at Bären Aarburg. A real plus that there is always warm food. The ribs and the Piri Piri Chicken were really good. The fries too. The restaurant is very nice, good atmosphere. The service was friendly and quick. There are parking spaces in front of the house. We were satisfied and can recommend it.

The Gasthof Bären is a beautiful, historic inn in the heart of Aarburg. There are enough parking spaces in front of the house. There is a nice selection of food, we chose a daily menu, the meal with soup and dessert was very tasty. We were here for a business lunch. When we were talking to our business partners after the meal and showed a few small products on the table, the innkeeper immediately came and warned us rather briskly that this was not allowed in his inn and we were allowed to do so at the next one Should you pay attention? But don't worry, dear host, after this campaign there will be no next time for us. Hospitality looks different.

Service was unfriendly and made you feel unwelcome. We waited over 45 minutes for our aperitif (quickly prepared food). Guests who arrived after us were served before us. When we asked again whether our aperitif had been forgotten, they looked for excuses. Unfortunately there was no apology or offer from them regarding the long waiting time. The food at least tasted good, hence 2 stars.

This review only concerns the restaurant. We had reserved a table for 2 people, that was probably the mistake, we were seated somewhere in the middle at by far the smallest table. So there was relatively little space available for aperitifs, drinks, starters and the main course. The menu is more reminiscent of a snack menu with the photos on it, one page is dedicated to the burgers, apparently chicken piri piri are a hit here. Almost everything is offered on the menu. The food itself was okay, but nothing more. Friendly service, with a bit of luck you can find a parking space in front of the restaurant. The furnishings are simple.

Slept here for 1 night (transit), very basic. The building is an old youth detention, complete with creaking stairs 😊 Great room, but dingy (strange stains on the walls) 🤔 and definitely in need of replacement. Broken lamp. Clean bedding and towels. With Haribo sweets and soap 🙂 The bathroom certainly needs an upgrade and without a door… You can order breakfast in advance at three prices. 5, 10 and 20 chf. We had the one for chf 10; croissant, baguette, coffee/tea and glass of (carton) orange juice. Dinner also fine, quite a lot!

My girlfriend and I went to the restaurant by chance. We are very excited. The food is very good and the service is very friendly. What I also really appreciate is the toilets are very clean. The Gasthof Bären is highly recommended.

The employee served quickly and surprisingly served the salad quickly. Salad was ok, but a bit carelessly prepared. The bowl also looked rather strange. Salad in the picture wasn't served like that, I didn't take a picture until later, sorry.

Very arrogant boss, crispy fish for just under CHF 24 made from ready-made products: Starting with fish, tartar sauce, salad dressing and parts of lettuce (beetroot etc). It used to be the place to be. Now? The only good thing is the nice serving daughter!

We ate spareribs. I was skeptical at first because it was “all you can eat” and the quality often suffered. But this was definitely not the case here! Every single plate was just right and the quality of the ribs was A1! Nice and juicy and very tender. The marinade was also very tasty and not too overpowering. And also the fries... Very often you get some that have been briefly kissed on the frying pan, here they were nice and golden brown and crispy! At a price of 39Fr. More than fair! I would love to come back.

If I had read the reviews first or seen that the overall rating was "only" 4.1, I probably wouldn't have eaten here. I walked past by chance and saw the beautiful terrace. There were many guests present and yet I was served immediately. As soon as we ordered, the menu salad was already on the table. My table was clean, salt and pepper mills came with the bread and were clean too. I noticed that they value cleanliness. I hardly waited for the main course either. The waitress and waiter were attentive, friendly and always on their toes. The food tasted great. Absolutely fair price. Even I, a glutton, was full. Last but not least: I haven't seen such clean and nice smelling toilets in a long time.

We had a light dinner in the garden. The service was attentive, the food was good, just the tables and seating were a bit uncomfortable.

Cuisine without soul, without flavor and without personality. Canteen cuisine. I will never stop at this place again.
