Hoikoi Sushi Bar in Zürich

We visited this restaurant based on a recommendation. Given the prices and reviews given, we had certain expectations. After asking, we were given a separate vegetarian menu and decided on a vegetarian menu for two people. With the first course we were brought soy sauce, which we used to season the salads. Later it turned out that this sauce was not vegetarian. This was mentioned in passing when the vegetarian sushi was brought out. When paying the bill, I kindly pointed out to the waitress that I would like it if the information about the sauce was communicated right from the start. She accepted the feedback kindly. As we were leaving the restaurant, we were stopped by another waitress who pointed out to us briskly and unkindly that the sauces and ingredients were declared everywhere. He justified and argued with us. I perceived this as very unprofessional and left the restaurant very quickly. I will no longer visit or recommend this restaurant in the future. The price in no way justifies the service and quality of the food.

The quality of the fish and sushi was impeccable, however, we ordered the sushi plate for two containing “the highlights” of the sushi master. Unfortunately, this plate was quite basic and had three avocado items on it. I would have expected more diversity in the options if we already pay almost 100 francs for such a platter. Nevertheless, the quality of it was great. I would specifically order what you want and not opt for the big platter only to be presented with the most basic pieces you can order elsewhere too for less money!

The best Negroni around Zürich! Someone recommended, we went, we tested, we totally agree. The Sushi 🍣 doesn't only look great, it tastes great too. I am (was) not a fun of mochis but the Double cream mochi here is making me change my mine.

Standout service and good sushi 👍🏼 had the set menu and everything was yummy. Staff working there are definitely my highlight. Wasn’t too crazy busy for a Tuesday night! Definitely a great replacement for the poke place that use to be in this location. Small feedback: strange to share a small miso soup as part of the set menu, best to have one per person

+ Food is extremely good and fresh, delicious sushi! 5* kitchen + Price performance is right + Friendly service + Interesting drinks - Guests with dogs: Please do not feed the dogs dog food at the table, there is a strong smell of dog food, even at the next tables! It totally ruined the eating mood when you smell dog food instead of sushi, gross! It's okay if the staff is pet-friendly, but this kind of thing should really be stopped. - Unfortunately, music is much too loud, so we recommend reducing the volume a little.

Very stylish and sleek looking restaurant. I loved their vegan signature roll with sweet potato 😍 the ebi signature roll is also a must try! And this pink drink is very refreshing and sweet 🥰

Super tasty vegetarian sushi and great service!

For me the best sushi in all of Zurich. The quality of the rice and the fish are outstanding. We've been there several times and it's always been great. The Hoi Koi signature roll and the cheesy mango roll are my absolute favorites. Tatar and sashimi are also very tasty, only the carpaccio can't quite keep up with the other dishes.

Had some food delivered at home. Quick delivery and well packaged. Quality is very high but price is painfully expensive.

Best sushi we've had in 18 months in the Zurich area. Most sushi here is just not very good, but this was delicious, with perfect rice, great taste and excellent service. I recommend this place.

Favorite sushi place in town, the food is excellent, great service and on top of it, we love the design of the restaurant. We`ve been coming back since we discovered this place a few months ago.

Very friendly staff and great food. Went there for lunch and had a tuna bowl with an onsen egg. Included in the menu was a small miso soup. The soup was a bit bitter. The Tuna Bowl was absolutely top class. Gladly again.

In a nutshell, it's great atmosphere, proper japanese quality, and friendly service. It would be very difficult not to have a fantastic time, recommended by all means!

The sushi at Hoi Koi Restaurant was not only incredibly tasty, but also of the highest quality. The king fish ❣️ was particularly excellent and the drinks complemented the meal perfectly. The service was excellent and the pleasant atmosphere made our visit a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We'll definitely be back

It's been a long time since I've had such incredibly good sushi. Atmosphere great, service top & the prices are justified. Simply impresses with the quality and variety of the dishes. All in all, very worthwhile and definitely worth a visit!

Really everything was great all around 😌 Attentive service, pleasant music, great food. The salmon is particularly delicious! :)

Anyway, the ingredients were fresh, and the soy sauce and gari for the sushi were also homemade and absolutely delicious. I'm happy to be able to eat at this quality and price. 😊🙏🏻I will go again. Thank you for your meal! thank you.

The sushi platter was delicious! Especially the Inarizushi. It's great that they also think seasonally: Pumpkin was included in one variation. Combined with wasabi it was really tasty! The highlight: chocolate mochi with Genmaicha tea! The staff is very friendly and attentive. The kitchen staff appears to be Japanese. A plus point for authenticity! The restaurant itself is extremely clean and stylishly furnished. The chairs and benches are comfortable. The windows are clean and at a comfortable height to look out of. Paper lamps provide a very pleasant lighting atmosphere. We will definitely be back and are already looking forward to it!

The food tasted sensational and the service was extremely attentive and friendly. Overall a very positive experience. There is a deduction for the prices, which in our opinion were significantly too expensive even for Zurich standards. We paid around CHF 65 for 8 pieces of sushi, a small starter, a glass of wine and water.

I had high expectations on the sushi quality due to the high rating. The fish quality was not good, the sashimi of scallops had a strange taste to it and I found bones in my salmon. The maki rolls just feell apart and the rice was not good. The avocado maki was brown and discoloured...the only good thing during the whole meal was the homemade picked ginger. Very disappointed....I will not return.

Once again a sushi shop that comes across as grandiose but ultimately offers little. But they definitely charge Zurich prices. The decor is cramped, cheap and in the “take away” style. The service is about the same. Do I have to watch him constantly pull up his pants? If I can only drink Japanese beer, that is not only highly unecological, but also a huge rip-off! The sushi are carefully made but nothing extraordinary. No imagination or inspiration.

Adding this new spot as one of my top favorite sushi places in Zurich! Typical zurich prices ($$$) but excellent quality, selection, and service. The ambiance is also very nice with modern interior decor. We especially liked the Hoikoi signature roll and Lachs Aburi nigiri. Highly recommend!

Surprisingly good option for a medium-high quality sushi! The sushi was very yummy, kitchen open until late (10ish) and located in one of my fav locations in Zurich in a very lively street. Prices were not too high for what we got and the recommended wine was excellent. Will come back for sure

The food and the service is great. But you can't serve cloth napkins and then place disposable wooden sticks on the cloth napkins. Unpacked. Either cloth napkins and reusable chopsticks. Or paper napkins and disposable chopsticks in their original packaging.

Great new sushi restaurant in Wiedikon. Super tasty variations with a slightly different twist such as the Tuna Tartar with Yuzu, Scallop Ceviche Style and the Silken Tofu. The service was very friendly and attentive. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back!

Sushi, like everywhere else in Zurich, is not cheap but very tasty and beautifully presented. It's worth it!

We were there for a late lunch, well past the normal hours of 2pm but we were immediately welcomed and told that everything on the afternoon menu, including the Salmon Zuke Don would be prepared for us. That dish was delicious and the Tatar Tuna was really amazing. We also had the spicy tuna roll, which really was delightfully spicy. The Temaki Hamachi was presented so well, along with all the other items, a welcomed Japanese aesthetic. To drink, we had the Yuzu Lime and the Matcha Limette, which suited the late afternoon summer meal well. The food was served fast and with very friendly staff. All in all, a great restaurant find in Lochergut!

New favorite sushi spot in town! They have creative, fresh and delicious sushi which is prepared with a high level of dedication & expertise. Great service, nice outdoor seating in Lochergut area. Prices match their quality, but worth the splurge. Kitchen closes at 10pm. Will be back for more 🤩🥢🍣

The chef really puts magic in her food, u can see she loves doing her job n its not an exaggeration. Had a really great time, service was great and the food even better. The soya sauce and wasabi recipe is amazing. Would 100% go again. Go check it out urself!

Apart from traditional sushi there are also many delicious chef's choices. It is one of those that you eat and never eat other Japanese restaurants again. I will definitely return. They also have many variants of sake and Japanese whiskey, very difficult to find in Zürich. The atmosphere is very comfortable, the service very friendly and attentive.

Hause recipes Sojasauce & different kinds of sauces. Respect the japanese tradition and also along with some fantasies. Friendly environment , very selcted wine and sake, top whiskey options. Definitely No.1 choice when you fancy a sushi meal in town.
