THEY WILL GLADLY SERVE YOU IF YOU’RE WHITE. We arrived and waited for a table. The corner table eventually freed up the one which has a view. Waiter insisted us to somewhere else even though we can wait till the table is cleaned. When the cleaning lady coming to clean the table he sent her back. I wouldn’t eat here even if it’s free. Conveniently the table was cleaned the second we left the restaurant.

You can eat very well here with an outstanding view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. The staff is always very friendly and the menu offers a nice selection. Highly recommended! When the weather is good, you can sit outside and enjoy a coffee and homemade apple strudel in the midday sun.

Great views of course! Food was okay, service was actually really good but the other reviews are right about George, he definitely asks for a tip! Lol

The waiter was very nice. The pizza and mixed salad were good. Glad to find this place. It was very pleasant.

Very friendly wait staff in a contemporary design space. Gorgeous views the food was light and a pleasant surprise.

Unfortunately, we were inspired by the great location. Extremely unfriendly service. It seemed like the boss was the most unpleasant person. I left the strudel after half a bite. For about 35 years in Switzerland, the most terrible strudel I was served. Tourists rip off. A pity. Actually, they would have to make room for someone else to work in this very exclusive place.

Such a nasty waitress, I think her name is Lenga. The way she spoke and how she treated us was not acceptable! They have to behave and not be racist.

Korean cooks, please taste the gamzi. It tastes like dog food, and if you ask for more to share a bowl, they charge 3 francs and a tip is also required. Please skip the middle-aged waiter, don't eat anything, and go somewhere else.

It is a hotel and restaurant with a very good view. However, you must make a reservation to get a window seat. The staff's response is also friendly. I enjoyed the soup Fondue is very salty, really very salty. I tend not to leave food behind, but the fondue burned my mouth so I couldn't finish it. It's my first time trying fondue, so I don't think I'm used to it. The other foods seem to be delicious, but they seem too salty so it won't be easy to try them.

Excellent views of the mountains. We ate inside, but has a terrace as well.

This location was quite nice, however the Spanish waiter ruins it all. Very childished. We ask to check for the menu and he said there is no place, all reserved ( although there is only a few customers). Then he turns and say if we eat now we can see the menu. At the end of the bill he forced us to tip 10% of the bill which we refused to. That moment he turns his face to ugly and walked immediately away after we pay. Sorry owner, but I think he is ruining your business. I am not comming back

We had George, who is the best waiter we have ever had. All of the food presentation was perfect and each meal we had was so good! We got steak and potatoes and chicken with salad. The view was insanely beautiful and the restaurant ambiance was perfect!

I had the Swiss Pork Steak, with I would refer to as pork schnitzel. It was a lightly coated piece of pork, with noodles and vegetables. My wide had a large mixed salad, and a bowl of Hungarian Goulash, which was more of a meat-based soup. We both enjoyed the meals. For dessert, we split a piece of apple strudel on vanilla cream sauce that looked better than it tasted. Service was professional, but not particularly friendly. Two qualifiers to this restauant: 1. The view from outside would be a 85 on a scale of 1 to 5. It's just not possible to have better view of the mountains. 2. We were charged 5 Francs (almost $6.00 for TAP water (NOT) bottled water. I don't remember seeing this on the menu, and the waitress just shrugged when I questioned it. Keep in mind, this is a town that has flowing water spigot of water from the mountains. Restaurants need to stop having needless charges that tend to ruin the experience.

World class views from the patio. Terrible burger. 100% worth it for drinks, ambiance. The whole lauterbrunnen valley views are visible from here. Don't come for the terrible burger patty (had better at grocery stores let alone fast food joints) and burger that ejects all the toppings out the side. OK fries I suppose.

Beautiful terrace, friendly service, delicious food...

Male waiter did nothing but he requires tip. We said no tip but he requires again with saying loudly "no tip?". This is very embarrasing experience. Totally, great view, nice food, poor service.

The food has a pretty good quality-price. We ordered the beef filet and was very tasty. The views are amazing and the restaurant is very cozy and well renovated. The staff was fine. Allergens are very well marked in the menu. We'll come back again.

The hot stone is highly recommended, we had the version with the beef fillet. Sauces and side dishes also very good! Service friendly and efficient, the location is outstanding and the view is correspondingly good. Gladly again

The restaurant has excellent views of the mountains. Friendly, English speaking and attentive staff. The highlight of the meal was the veal steak. The meat was excellent and came on a hot plate with herbs which allowed the meat to be cooked exactly how I wanted it. The meat came with herb butter, a pepper sauce and a Bernese sauce. Which was a great idea. Loved the experience and the fine meat.

Beautiful location marred only by what I can only call tricky behavior by the middle-aged male waiter. We went between lunch and dinner time and ordered drinks and a pizza to share as snack. The waiter asked whether we would like little plates to share the pizza which we thought was nice, but then saw later that he had charged us for that without telling us! Pity to leave such a bad impression for a small amount of money. Otherwise, the views were incredible, the other waitstaff seemed nice. They seem to treat people like they’ll only be in once or that they’ll accept bad service because of the great view. It’s a pity.

Not too many choices of food in the mountain hill town of Murren. Views are a must and the Edelweiss delivers on that. Food is mostly good to above average. Had burgers (above average), spaghetti wMeat (good), and a salad (above average) between all of us. Look this is not Florence or San Sebastian but when I stay in Murren I would eat here again.

The view is amazing, but I don't know why the rating is low. Do you eat at the top of a mountain in anticipation of the taste? The view is delicious. Be sure to go. It’s gorgeous.

Excellent meal! A must visit when in town. Stone cooked meat is excellent (we had the filet and veal). And definitely need to get an apple strudel to end the meal. Fantastic service as well, and an unbelievable view of you sit outside.

1. Do reserve a day in advance as can be fully booked if you just show up 2. Do ask for another waiter if you get George (there’s two nice ladies and a nice young gentleman) 3. Beware of George the waiter. He asks for tip (per other reviews). He ignored us for 30 minutes (attended other tables that arrived after us and left before us). Also impolitely judged amount of food we wanted to order (famished post-hike) ultimately denying us making more business to restaurant.

It's hard to know where to start this review because everything was exceptional. My first recommendation is to make a reservation. Between the superior food and breathtaking views, this restaurant has become popular and tables often fill up quickly. There is seating inside and outside in a covered terrace. The wait staff is attentive and prompt. The food is fresh, well planned, and simply delicious. There is nothing fussy or pretentious about it. I ordered the salad with chicken and was delighted by the variety of ingredients in the salad, the flavor of the homemade dressing, and the tenderness of the chicken. The vegetable soup was also exceptional. But the true star of the is the apple strudel with vanilla cream sauce. We enjoyed our meal so much the first night, when we paid our bill we booked a reservation for the next evening.

Nasty waiter refused to serve us after we moved tables (blistering sun to shady table). Then he asked me to tip him when I paid for the wine! No idea what the food is like, but the view is spectacular.

Swiss food presented in a gorgeous alpine setting. The service we received was very friendly. The dishes we had were good quality at a fair price relative to the area. We are planning to return again tomorrow to try the steak.

The restaurant definitely has the best view in Murren… the apple pie is good … it’s a good dining experience just that the staff may ask for tip which is a little surprise to us…

We sat outside and the view was exquisite. Coffee and dessert was delicious and service was very good.

Man I don't know what's up with these other reviews. Owner was very pleasant, greated us when we entered and seated us. Ordering was smooth and servers very polite. Apple strudel was warm and delicious and to rosti really hit the spot. Restaurants in continental Europe frequently charge for tap water if you don't order any other drinks. I get that England and America don't do this but expect the local customs when you're the guest. We came in the off season (aka construction season since all the towns in the area want to get their renovations in during low-traffic times) and as we were leaving all the construction workers came in for lunch here rather than any of the other restaurants in the area. If that's not a vote of confidence for this place I don't know what is.

Great dinner and service. We both got the filets and it was great presentation, quality and serving size. Very good!

Unfortunately we were not served. We arrived at 8:30 p.m.: we were told the kitchen was closed, even though the website says you can order until 9 p.m. Such behavior is tiresome!

Food was fantastic. My wife said the best filet she can remember having. Presentation was impressive as well.

We had lunch here. The food is absolutely standard and aimed at tourists, so nothing special. What was special, however, was the rudeness of the service. The service was very bad. You weren't greeted but just asked bluntly whether you wanted to eat or drink. When paying we didn't leave a tip due to the rudeness. The waitress looked at us expectantly as we paid and suggested we give a 10% tip. We didn't do this. The waitress was extremely unfriendly, didn't even say thank you and left without saying goodbye. Here you expect a tip for bad service and the waitress even suggests a tip herself. That's incredible.

Good restaurant with and outstanding view from the terrace. Food was delicious, only negative point is that they charge you for tap water.

Wir waren über Auffahrt in einem der neuen Premiumzimmer, die wir sehr empfehlen können: grosszügig, modern, schöne Materialien und eine grandiose Aussicht. Auch bei schlechtem Wetter lässt sich im Zimmer gemütlich verweilen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Frühstück sowie Halbpension gut und reichlich.

Zentral, gemütliches Ambiente, gutes Essen und netter Hotelier. Das Hotel Edelweiss liegt in 5min zu Fuß vom Bahnhof Mürren entfernt und lässt somit vom Bahnhof Mürren bequem erreichen. Das Hotel macht einen modernen, gemütlichen Eindruck: Zimmer, Restaurant, Kaminzimmer laden zum Verweilen ein. Zu der Schilthornbahn läuft man 10 min. Leider hat das Hotel keine Sauna, etc., aber es lässt sich so auch sehr angenehm hier wohnen. Ich würde wieder kommen!

I see I'm not the only one who has experienced what can only be described as terrible service here. In fact, what these waitresses have to offer shouldn't even be characterised as "service"' as that word implies that someone has actually done something for you. The 3 ladies that were "present" in the restaurant today clearly didn't want to be there and this oozed out of them. Everything was too hard. So we didn't even bother ordering anything. We just walked out. I'm sure these girls had no idea why and probably couldn't care less. Here's a hint: if you work in hospitality, be hospitable. If a customer wants to sit outside, then the right answer is yes, of course sir. The wrong answer is no, outside is closed. If you're open lovey, then nowhere is closed. If you can't or won't embrace the basics, then find another career. There are plenty that don't require any people skills. For example, I'm sure this hotel and others have plenty of bathrooms that need cleaning and dishes that need washing. The restaurant was totally empty and frankly, that's the way it deserves to stay if this is the experience this place offers. We walked a short way down the road and had a lovely meal with fantastic service. Was very happy to spend my money there. Wisen up Hotel Edelweiss. Wait staff with bad attitudes will be your eventual downfall. If you don't care, then you can't expect anyone else to.

great square to sit outside which some of the other hotels did not have. breakfast was tasty and typical european style. and nice and quite.

Slow and rude service. Food was not fresh. Schnitzel swimming in oil. Salad swimming in fatty french sauce. Have I already mentioned the rude service! Oh I did. And I will say again and again and never come back.

Great food (try the stone plates) with an amazing view and perfect service. Not the first time and not the last.

On our way down from Schilthorn, we stopped to walk through the village of Murren. The Hotel Edleweiss, with its largely outdoor restaurant, is located on the main street. The apple struedel was delicious!

When in Mürren in the warmer months you really should dine on the terrace for great food and world class views!! The staff were fantastic also!!!

This place has a lovely patio to sit and view the scenery. However beautiful the view, the food and service need attention. I had the local meat and cheese tray. One of the sausages was so hard that I had trouble biting through it and chewing it. A piece of my cheese looked as if someone had taken a bite out of it. Needless to say, I didn’t eat it. The service was TERRIBLE. When I say terrible, I mean terrible. The waitress took our order while someone else brought the food. We didn’t see our waitress again until we had to TRACK her down for our bill. Even when asked how our meal was, and we notified the cashier of the lack of waitstaff, they said nothing. Find somewhere else to eat. Anywhere else would serve you better.

Great place to chill after a montain walk. Excellent food, views and staff. Wonderful pizza and rosti.

Recently visited the town of Mürren Switzerland and decided to have lunch at Edelweiss first because of the views! Our waitress was very friendly and the food was delicious! Can’t beat great food, great service, and beautiful views! We were too full from lunch, didn’t get to enjoy the desserts but the “strudel” looked yummy! Highly recommend for a nice overall dining experience.

We ate here twice: lunch and for the apple strudel one evening., easiest place to get strudel without ordering a dinner The terrace offers fantastic views. Otherwise it does not offer much in way of atmosphere. For lunch, we ate the pizza which was well prepared and had great crust. The strudel was very good, but seemed pricey for the size. All restaurants in Switzerland are high compared to other countries. The prices here are comparable to other Murren restaurants but the atmosphere was not as upscale. I was most disappointed in the service. There was nothing friendly about it, especially for the lunch. Also, you don't know until you pay that they charge 1.50 CHF for tap water . Also, there is a minimum of 30 CHF for credit charges.

What a view! Excellent service, nice herbal tea's and delicious apfelstrudel. Located in car free Mürren.

Letzten Abend hatte unsere vierköpfige Familie eine wundervolle Mahlzeit mit Steak, Pizza, Schnitzel und Salat. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Unsere Kellnerin hatte wenig Geduld. Als mein Mann Probleme hatte, sich ein Bier auszusuchen, verdrehte sie die Augen. Nachdem die Köchin unser Essen gebracht hatte, kehrte sie nie mehr zurück, um nach uns zu sehen. Wir haben sie nach Butter gefragt, die sie nie mitgebracht hat. Als unser Sohn im Teenageralter um Eis bat, sagte sie: „Jetzt? “, Entschuldigte sich mein sohn bei der langmütigen kellnerin. Das Essen war großartig, aber der Kellner hinterließ einen düsteren Eindruck über den ansonsten fabelhaften Abend.

Dieses familiengeführte Hotel thront über einem tiefen Tal. Ansichten sind unvergleichlich. Wir hatten eine Suite mit zwei Schlafzimmern und zwei Bädern sowie einem Balkon, der sich um den Umfang des Hotels schlängelte. Eingeschlossen sind ein Restaurant und ein Schweizer Frühstück, das ehrlich gesagt enttäuschend war: Brot, Marmelade, Müsli, Fleisch. Ich war hier vor Jahren, als das Frühstück besser war. Aber du kommst nicht zum Essen. Wandern Sie hinunter nach Shteclberg und laufen Sie 45 Minuten nach Lauterbrunnen. Wandern Sie zurück oder nehmen Sie die Standseilbahn und die Zahnradbahn. Das Hotel ist angemessen und der Service ist sehr gut.

After seeing the signs outside,we came here for a lunch of apple strudel. The strudel was good, but not exceptional. We sat outside and and nice views. Fast service.

We loved the surrounding hikes but felt as if the area was a tourist trap. In general service was poor along with fairly standard room fittings. However, the cost was high even by Swiss standards and we therefore wouldn’t recommend to others.

Wir genossen unser Abendessen und Kellnerin, Janine. Sie hat uns 2 Abendessen empfohlen, mein Mann hat ein haschbraunes Gericht bekommen, ich habe Schweineschnitzel. Sie waren beide sehr lecker. Die Einstellung ist atemberaubend. Mit einer leichten Kälte in der Luft sitzt du auf einem Schaffell, das genau richtig ist.

Das Hotel Edelweiss am Berghang war genau das, was wir uns erhofft hatten. Unser geräumiges Zimmer war genau das Zimmer, das wir online gesehen haben, als wir uns vor einigen Monaten entschieden haben, dort zu buchen. In dem Moment, in dem wir den Raum betraten, sagte uns die atemberaubende Aussicht, obwohl es an diesem Tag bewölkt und regnerisch war, dass wir die richtige Wahl getroffen hatten. Unser Zimmer war eines der großen Endzimmer mit einer Wand aus Fenstern und einer Glastür, die zum großen Balkon führte. Das Zimmer hatte ein Kingsize-Bett, Nachttische, Schlafcouch, Tisch und Stuhl und einen Schreibtisch mit Stuhl. Das Badezimmer hatte eine Badewanne und eine Dusche und sogar eine Fußbodenheizung. Es gab einen Fernseher, aber unsere Unterhaltung beobachtete die sich ständig ändernde Sicht, die durch die herabziehenden Wolken oder den strahlenden Sonnenschein auf den Bergen verursacht wurde, sowie Vögel und Gleitschirme, die an unserem Balkon vorbeifloggten!Wir haben jeden Morgen das reichhaltige Frühstücksbuffet genossen. Der Eierkocher und der Knaller waren neu für uns - wir bekommen einen Knaller für zu Hause! Das Abendessen im Restaurant war immer ein köstliches Erlebnis. Wir haben uns immer für etwas Schweizerisches entschieden, um die volle Erfahrung zu machen.Die Eigentümer und das gesamte Personal haben uns von einem fröhlichen guten Morgen beim Frühstück bis zu hilfreichen Empfehlungen für Wanderwege (Bereitstellung von Wanderstöcken) als Gäste in ihrem Haus behandelt und uns sogar ein Mittagessen für unseren langen Reisetag am Tag unserer Abreise eingepackt .Wir freuen uns darauf, eines Tages für einen längeren Aufenthalt ins Hotel Edelweiss zurückzukehren und die Möglichkeit zu haben, weitere Trails zu wandern und die Schönheit der Schweiz und ihrer Bewohner auf sich wirken zu lassen.

We stopped by for dessert,s enticed by the splendid panoramic views of the Lauterbrunnen Valley from the terrace. From the rather disappointing dessert menu we chose the apple strudel with warm vanilla custard at 9.50CHF and a hazelnut tart with ice cream and fresh cream at 12.50CHF. The strudel was lovely but the tart was a great disappointment as it was simply a very small plain cupcake, nothing like the picture in the dessert menu. Surprisingly they only take cards for orders over 30CHF.

We came in the afternoon for their apple streusel and some hot chocolate. We were the only people in the restaurant and they seated us next to the door instead of near the window mountain view. The apple streusel was disappointing. It sounded (and tasted) like they had just heated it up in the microwave (was slightly warm). It looked gorgeous, but not extremely tasty. The hot chocolate was nothing special either. I've had much better hot chocolate at home or even at Starbucks. As other reviews have stated unless you spend more than 30CHF it is cash only. I believe our drinks and warmish dessert cost us about 29CHF.

They should tell you they only take cash before you order. Closest atm is at the train station. Food was ok, very salty. The views are amazing!

We spent a nice evening enjoying decent food. Nothing special but attentive service. Slightly more expensive , compared to other restaurants in same area.

Wir haben hier zu Mittag und zu Abend gegessen. Das Mittagessen war draußen bei herrlichem Sonnenschein auf der Terrasse. Pizza und Burger waren beide gut.Zum Abendessen haben wir drinnen gegessen, was etwas veraltet ist, aber der Service war genauso nett. Mein Mann bestellte das Steak, das auf einem tosenden heißen Stein lag, und er konnte es genau so kochen, wie es ihm gefiel.

Wir haben hier gegessen und das Essen und der Service waren ziemlich gut, aber ich war nicht zufrieden mit der Geschäftsführung, die ein wenig zwielichtig wirkte.Als sich eine andere Gruppe verließ, traf ich während des Essens einen Austausch zwischen dem Manager und einer Gruppe, die beendete, wie der Kreditkarten-Computer nicht funktionierte und sie würden nur Bargeld einnehmen. Das Essen war nicht nur gut, es gab auch ständig Gleitschirme, die beim Essen vorbeikamen. Versuchen Sie, einen Tisch draußen und nahe an den Rand zu bringen, um alle Aussichten zu genießen.

Murres war während unseres Aufenthaltes desolat. Während wir im Hotel waren, war das Restaurant praktisch. Der Service war gut und das Essen war auch gut. Hühnerbrust und Salat empfehlen. Pizza war auch gut.

Die Wildspezialitäten aus eigener Jagd sind sehr empfehlenswert und das Servicepersonal ist freundlich und aufmerksam

We visited this place twice while we stayed in Murren. Great place to stop and have a beer with the beautiful Mountain views. We enjoyed their delicious soup of the day and tasty pizzas.

We shared a flammkuchen (Swiss pizza). It was very tasty. The staff was a bit overwhelmed, as most of the restaurants were closed on a Tuesday evening, so they were busy. The wait was a bit long, & the emotions strong from one waiter in particular, as he would turn away some customers without even checking to see if they could be seated.

My wife and I were looking for a small dinner and the Edelweiss certainly met our needs. The Rosti with Raclette cheese, ham and a fried egg was delicious. So was the fresh green salad. We topped it off with two scoops of ice cream. Would definitely return.

The hotel itself is quite nice, although perhaps the balcony was a bit scary - it looked like it was a bit sinking. This may as well be my perception as the hotel hangs on the cliff, overlooking the mountain village of Wengen across the valley and beautiful mountains Eiger and Mönch. They also have one of the best, if not the best, terraces in the village. The rubber duckies in the bathroom was the cutest add-on ever!! Did I take a bath instead of shower because of it? I sure did!

We loved our breakfast included with our stay - great variety and something for everyone...boil your own eggs, fresh breads, meat and cheese platters, cereals, toppings, Nutella, jams, granola, espresso machine!, fresh fruit, a variety of juices, you name it...all buffet style and constantly refreshed. Dining area was clean and had a great view.On our lunch visit another day we found the menu had plenty of choices. The staff was not overly friendly, but we still enjoyed our visit. We ordered pizzas, fondue, and burgers. The food was plentiful and views amazing. We ate indoors as it was chilly and it was light and airy, perfect, because who wants to be inside on a beautiful day unless you have too. Enjoyed a beer while we were there as well. The pizza was large and delicious, and the fondue was great. The small bread cubes were a perfect size and done just right, a little crunchy on outside but soft on the inside, highly recommend. The burger itself was not the best, not sure it was fresh or frozen, but fries were good (cooked well and a little crispy) as was the roll and the fresh veggies (tomato, lettuce, onions on top), . Presentation was pretty on everything. Pizzas were huge and fresh good portion size for two people.

The views of the Jungfrau and the valley below are breathtaking from either the balcony or the dining room. It was drizzling and windy, so we ate in the dining room, but did not feel cheated out of the view. We ordered and split the steak. It is brought to the table on a sizzling hot stone with several flavored butters for topping both the steak and the potatoes. The potatoes were not anything special, just boiled fingerling potatoes, but the steak was tender, juicy and delicious.

We stopped here in the evening to have some pizza and salad. The host didn't want to seat us outside but eventually gave in, as there were plenty of folks out there, including many from our Rick Steves Tour. The food came quickly and was very good. The waiter was okay, he just wasn't friendly at all, he acted as though he didn't want to serve us.

The food and service are excellent at hotel Edelweiss. We ate here twice and had excellent food and service. Being American, we appreciated that they gave us extra ice in our drinks!

After leaving the Murren train station, this restaurant is about 5 minutes away. It’s the *second* one of the first pair of hotels you’ll see. It’s built right on the edge of the steep mountain, looking down over the valley below, so if you decide to eat on its restaurant terrace, you’ll be treated to stunning views in multiple directions. Stare sideways at the massive wall of mountain that marks the end of the Jungfrau mountain, or look back towards the other side of the Lauterbrunnen Valley at the green slopes that climb up towards the whole Jungfrau range. Look below to watch numerous paragliders drifting by, or glance away from Murren along the valley bottom to follow the river to the mountains in the distance. In other words, this restaurant terrace is the place to be in Murren if you want gorgeous mountain and valley views while you eat. And, of course, I should mention that I think they make *the best thin-crust Margherita pizza* of all the places we’ve tried in Switzerland. (We’ve tried many, many Swiss pizzas over the years, both in the cities and in the mountains, and the only one we’ve found that comes close is in Zermatt). The Edelweiss pizza’s thin crust is crisp but melts in your mouth, and the rich topping spreads over the complete surface, with just a thin line of crisp crust at the very edge. We often make a point of a day-trip to Murren from Wengen just for this treat. But even if you don’t want pizza, if you’re in Murren I’d recommend stopping here on your way to or from the train station, even for just a drink or an ice-cream, to treat yourself to food with a view.

A great place to sit and watch paragliders play in the Swiss Alps. The best salad I’ve had in Switzerland, high quality meat, and delicious strudel and latte! Too bad staff was rude and hurried.

We have been coming to this restaurant for years...we even remember when it was a limited self service restaurant! There is no doubt they have the best view. We were a little disappointed, though, this year. It seems that it has become a bit of a tourist item....a statue of a tourist; trampoline for kids. The prices are a little bit higher than some of the other moderate restaurants, but the view! The menu also seems more limited than before, especially for someone who does not eat meat or cheese! Limited options with Rosti. The spaghetti Napoli was priced high and just average. The pizza was better. The pork schnitzel was good.We would return, however, for the view! Service was a little slow.

Outdoor terrace with great view. Sheepskins to make chairs comfortable. Very helpful staff and menu items to choose. Prices were lower than other restaurants but food was very good. Eat there...

Food was fine and views spectacular. There is a trampoline and other children attractions beside the patio, so expect lots of noisy children running back and forth to the tables. Expect rude customers to push past you to get a "better" view of the jungfrau (6feet/2meters to a 12,000 foot mountain!!!) between you and the railing.

My husband and I ate dinner here our first night in Murren. We were not staying at the hotel, but were told by our hotel that they serve a good burger. We were looking for a simple dinner so we walked over to the Hotel Edelweiss and sat outside. Perfect views of the mountains. We both ordered a cheeseburger with fries and we shared a 50dl of wine (love this size bottle, wish they had it in the states). The burgers were delicious - juicy, large and sloppy - just what you would want in a burger and the fries were abundant and crispy. We thoroughly enjoyed our burgers and were very happy with our meal. Service was attentive and friendly - would go back if we are lucky enough to visit Murren again.

We ate here our first night in Murren. We each had spaghetti bolognese. The spaghetti was limp and the sauce was watery and the portion size small. We order spaghetti bolognese a lot when we travel, and this was one of the worst we've had. The price was 21 CHF which seemed a lot for the portion size -- and quality. We each had apfelstrudle for dessert, and that was fairly decent. A nice big slice with vanilla sauce for 8 CHF - a good value and tasty.A bottle of sparkling water was around 10 CHF which seemed on the high side to us. The same bottle is 1 CHF at the Co-Op just 100 meters away.Because our meal was not up to our standards, we decided not to go back.

The most awesome views from the balcony of our hotel room...the snow capped peaks and the parasail era that flew below us and great breakfasts every morning.

En helt fantastisk utsikt på kanten av fjellryggen helt uten noe imellom deg og naturen. God atmsofære i lokalet. Veldig rask ekspedert mat, middagrsrettene var der på bordet ti minutter etter vi bestilte, imponerende faktisk. Nydelig dressing til kyllingsalaten gjorde den til noe helt spesielt. En glimrende restaurant.

Very nice breakfast buffet and the views are gorgeous. The service at the restaurant was very efficient and helpful.

Didn’t actually stay at this hotel, but enjoyed a home made cherry cake and hot chocolate from their Garden terrace restuarant. We were really lucky, it was a really sunny day and the view of Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau mountain range was simple breathtaking.

Wir waren mit Kollegen im Edelweiss zum Abendessen. Die Einrichtung und die Preise lassen einem auf ein sehr gutes Restaurant hoffen, da schön eingerichtet. Die Bedienung ist ok, mehr aber nicht. Ich erwarte eine freundlichere und aufmerksamere Bedienung. Teilweise ist sie gar schnippisch! Das Essen ist ok, aber ebenfalls nicht mehr. Ich hatte eine Pizza ohne Kapern bestellt, was die Bedienung bereits nur mürisch entgegen nahm. Dann waren trotzdem 3 Kapern auf meiner Pizza. Das bringt mich nicht um, aber bestellt hatte ich ohne, und die Pizzas sollen handgemacht sein.

I did not stay in this hotel, but it looks really nice. However, the food is as good as the view into the mountains. They have an assortment of foods, great pizza, huge salads of all sort of vegetables, fresh greens and delightful desserts. Good service and breathtaking views. In addition, within walking distance of shops, pools, hikes, gondola's and a grocery store. Don't miss this place if you visit Murren.

My husband and I had lunch at this restaurant recently. We sat on the outside patio and enjoyed the terrific views.I ordered the rosti with cheese, ham, and fried egg and my husband ordered the chicken burger. My rosti was amazing. It was cooked in a round pan and I enjoyed prying the crispy brown bits off the side and bottom of the pan. We had rosti three times while in Switzerland and the rosti at Hotel Edelweiss was by far the best. It is a lot of food, however, and I definitely wanted a lighter meal for dinner.My husband also liked his chicken burger although it was very juicy and messy to eat. The service was efficient, if not particularly warm. (We subsequently had drinks on the patio the next day, and our male server that day was very friendly.)

Lucky to have a table outdoor, under the sun plus great mountain views. Great homemade tomato soup, sirloin steak - right size and taste, fresh salad and desert. The waitress who was stung by a bee, was kind to point out we tipped too much. Two days later Sunday, we returned, stayed indoor due to the weather, with fewer guests around. Tried the pizza - its base wasn't crusty but flaky. Interesting to note extra charge for extra plate, perhaps because it was a Sunday.

The menu was very good and the view was excellent. They have inside and outside dining. The location is right on the cliff.

The restaurant has a lovely view. Unfortunately the dining experience was marred by very poor service etiquette by the staff PETER. His mannerisms leave much to be desired as he was very rude and extremely condescending when speaking to us. A simple need to get an extra pair of utensils on our own (since it was displayed in the open inside the premises was met by a very rude response. Many establishments do have their utensils displayed for diners to help themselves. Peter raised his voice at me for helping myself to a simple fork and spoon and loudly exclaimed and berated me even as I was trying to explain myself. His service truly leaves much to be desired and I hope management will train him to speak politely to guests instead of raising his voice. Totally unacceptable!Despite the good views from the terrace, we will not return to this restaurant on our 3rd visit to Murren.

We stopped by late in the afternoon to have a piece of the famous apple strudel. It was with all the hype! They have a lovely patio with a view to die for.

Twice we stopped here for coffee, delicious apple strudel with vanilla sauce and gorgeous mountain views. The weather was glorious and we sat on the deck.

View is fantastic!! This is why we stopped here. Ordered $17.50 "homemade pizza" Made in their oven. Ordered hot tea for $5. Water was hot for the bag of tea. Pizza came and looked like a frozen pizza. The bottom was completely white and when the slice was held in hand it wilted over like a dead flower with the soggy glue like cheese was falling off the slice. Pizza was dangerous and we left all of it and told the waiter to give it to a hungry dog. The view was great for $27.50! The food was disgusting with typical Swiss service.
