HYPERION Hotel Basel in Basel

My dinner was delicious!! The apricot sorbet was so very good, I could eat an entire carton!! My service from Diandra was impeccable for both nights we dined in the restaurant. It is an amazing scenery that is now decorated with a Christmas theme. Beautiful ambiance! Well done!!

The Hyperion Hotel – the Restaurant Gaumenfreud – is located in the middle of Basel at the Messeplatz. The view of the exhibition center, the culinary diversity and the hospitality that the restaurant offered us were simply great. The dishes are of high quality and freshness, which makes the evening a pleasure. But it's not just the food that is outstanding, the restaurant's employees also play a key role in making every visit an unforgettable experience. From the warm welcome to the farewell, the courteous and friendly service is reflected, which makes you feel at home. The rest of the Hyperion Hotel also has a welcoming atmosphere and invites you to let yourself be pampered.

We often go there for dinner as it is also on our way. It's always great and the service is very attentive and courteous. As a vegetarian, I am very happy about the large selection of vegetarian dishes. From burgers and pasta (my personal favorite is the pasta in a parmesan loaf, these are even served directly at the table) to various salads, soup, risotto and more. We are always satisfied and enjoy coming there :) there is a selection of desserts and an ice cream menu with lovingly prepared Mövenpick ice cream sundaes. The large selection of cocktails also leaves nothing to be desired. We always enjoy coming back. :)

We really liked it :) the vegan burger is great. The nice lady at the bar was also very friendly and always asked if everything was OK with us. We'd love to come back ☺️

We had a buffet here, the food was delicious!

We would have liked to have a drink, but after waiting around 20 minutes without being noticed, we left, which was a shame.

Unfortunately we were very disappointed! We wanted to eat in the hotel after the fair because we were very tired and hungry. We waited 1.5 hours for our burgers. We only got bread when we made our presence known loudly. At times no operation was apparent for a long time. The guests joked among themselves about who had been waiting and for how long… Food then served dry and carelessly. A pity!

Once and never again. Bad service. We waited almost 2 hours for the food...the food was not edible...veal schnitzel was gray, tough and smelled like it was already a week old. Pumpkin soup oil rancid. Cream from the dessert was already sour... and and and... a shame for the beautiful restaurant and the great view.
